Gold Mine Gold! With the Hobby Miner Sluice Box

well hello and welcome to back to montana's ancient ocean inland ocean really an ocean in montana well that's exactly what this was many many many many years ago so i'm back here at the mine getting some more dirt trying out the hobby miners loose box again i don't have my wheelbarrow for my wheelbarrow classifier today i couldn't fit it inside the camper so we're going with what we got i got a couple buckets under here then we'll shovel up the remainders i didn't even have a tarp so not very good thinking on my part we'll shovel that up so let me get some dirt and i'm trying something different with the mat today so i'll let you in on that before i run any dirt [Applause] i guarantee you today will not be anything like it was last week i'm still paying for that 50-some buckets of dirt i ran last week in the last video okay we won't be doing that again so let me get some dirt [Applause] this material is super super dry so there's no way there's not a lot of clay in it so i'm not losing a lot of material by wet classifying it so we'll go over and use a self-feeder on the switch box nice job okay here we are i got a couple buckets of dirt all filled up i'm running the hobby minor sluice box a little bit differently today of course i'm trying out the silicone gaskets i put in the middle that i talked about in the video we're doing the double header piece but i'm also switched it around to the grizzly bar like i said a friend of mine got one of these from me put it in his high banker i thought it was running really good from what i could see so i'm going to try it for myself usually i've been flipping the mat over and running it on the high low v side with the many nugget traps has been working great so can i push more water through here more material make it faster this is gonna be quick um i'm running a 2 000 gallon an hour pump today i've been using a 1200 i got limited water so this is going to get dirty really quick i'm using a speed controller so i'm going to crank it all the way up see what happens like i said i'm going to have to do this fairly quick just to see what the mats are doing before my water gets too dirty so let's turn this on i am running at about 11 degrees you can see that all my materials classified the quarter inch we'll just see what happens [Applause] oh boy okay well it's not coming over the ribs i think it's working good so far i am doing it real time so maybe i'll get this down here so you can see real quick before we run out of water [Applause] or our water gets too dirty you can see it's staying active in there i think you can [Applause] well remember when i ran this last time most of the gold never even left back here it stayed right there i put in another shovel full and this has got the uh five degree angle on the back mat but it's eating it away this is the important part what are we capturing holding on to here i mean so far so good this stuff is loaded with heavy black sand too so [Applause] oh i like it the water's barely over the top of the rib and i see no dirt coming up there that's a good sign to me yeah i'll see when i put it in no i can still see the top of the rib so we're not plugging up with material and never mentions these are offset so one side's dumping into the other in each section of the mat [Applause] okay all right i'll be back in a bit so far [Applause] i do like how look at all the turbulence in there one going one way one going the other way the double power head it's chewing through the material pretty good [Applause] so we're not overloading the sluice completely [Applause] [Applause] i'm done running my two buckets of dirt i'm sure the camera won't pick it up but i see gold there i see gold in a couple spots so i'm liking the way the mat ran you can see it's not all packed in it's still open you can see it's been working real good um i don't see a problem with this at all it seems to be working just fine according to me um yeah i can see gold up in here that's a good sign i did take the power head off but okay i'll get this cleaned out get some more dirt so far so good i like it i can see where i had a couple air bubbles though i didn't get that taken care of before i started so i'll make sure i get that down there's one there one there that was an air bubble okay back in well my wife stopped by to uh feed the little slu she hasn't got to do it like this except for in the crick so she hasn't done the the self-feeding hopper yet so she stopped down here to give a try she is not dressed for mining today as you can see um so what do you think hon i think it's working slick you think you could sit all day and run that i'm sure i could could you handle it you've asked me for a lot more i've asked you for a lot more so i guess it's wife approved there we go fellas and gals one-handed one-handed that's rough works huh as long as we have dry material we'll have to get the high banker attachment done for it or a drama huh yeah accessorize i did turn the pump down to about three quarters power 2 000 is just a little bit too much i can like run in it i like how it's got the kind of the wave action in the mat i do like that so i think i'm on run four buckets now i'm not gonna get real carried away someone mentioned in the comments they thought this thing was a little bit too slow but i know last time i was out with it running out like this i think i ran 13 5 gallon buckets classified down to quarter inch for me and today all classified material i don't think that's slow at all i don't know too many guys that run much more than that i mean if you are i guess you're an animal but for old duffers like me uh 13 buckets that's a lot of material [Applause] that would equal usually where we dig that would equal what 20 buckets of unclassified material or more so i don't think it's too slow and it's not a production machine anyway what's it called it's called the hobby miner so good enough okay we're gonna keep on running well i made it back from the mine and we only ran i guess probably six buckets of dirt the wife really liked the little sluice um but the seams on the sluice box worked very well the grizzly bar mat worked just fine didn't see any issues with it but i know what you're going to say alan you're taking up a lot of room in your in your sluice box with those grizzly bars running down the mat so i'm one step ahead of you here i've got the molds all made up i made up a couple mats i did this oh weeks ago i don't know a while ago anyway just haven't shown them to anybody but so these are the grizzly bar sluice box mats without the grizzly bars in them um we get a side view here it goes drop down up down and i when i pulled this out of the bolt i literally said now that's badass so this will be for a high banker or if you're classifying your material already anything like that this is high flow these grooves are deep and got all kinds of ridges and lines and grooves uh we got a high low v here it's really dig deep then we got another high low v here but we got a drop riffle here here and here this goes back up and into the next section so when these are ready of course just like everything else will be at printingprospectors.com i think these are going to be start out ten inches wide um they're eight and a half inches wide so that'll be coming soon so here's my concentrates as i got back from the mine quite a few in there actually and let me run these i'm not going to make this real long but i've got my sluice all set up here or the miller sluice you can see i'm getting a little bit of gold in there starting to show up so let me get this running and i'll show you the gold i got i've been able to watch the gold drop in this chalkboard paint on the top of the miller sluice i can watch all the specs go in that's cool there goes one two three four five and they just slide right on down but you can literally sit here and just watch there goes some little ones i don't know if the camera will pick oh there's a good one there i like that well then cleaning up there's the gold i got out of my six buckets a couple decent pieces in there anyway like i said the mats will be ready soon um the uh hobby miner sluice box i'm just waiting for rebar coming carrier pigeon and i will do a video when those things are ready and out thanks
