Glock 19x for Concealed Carry • Review & Shoot | Episode #44

it's a lot of bullets Glock 19 X you guys have seen these popping up all over the Internet I'm not gonna go deep into like what in why it was developed we all know that it was part of the Army's pistol program it didn't win bloc is making them for the time being I hear rumors that maybe they're only going to sell them for a short while I picked one up basically the long and the short of it is it is got a 817 size grip so it means it's got 17 round capacity with a standard magazine and a 19 size slide right no earth-shattering news there couple cool points one of the reasons that I wanted to get my hands on this no finger grooves right out of the gate I like that on a Glock no finger grooves ambi slight lock levers so you can't just go buy an aftermarket lever to swap these out because it's a one-piece unit I'll show it to you it's a one-piece unit that slide lock lever versus the single piece that we're used to with a regular single sided slide lock that said the one on the right side of the pistol is pretty easy to engage it actually stands a little prouder of the frame then does the left side this pistol show you the barrel here real quick the crown of the barrel is something you're going to notice right out of the gate different than a standard Glock crown this has a sharp cut crown versus the curved crown that you see on most flock barrels this is a recessed crown which is done for accuracy the rifling does not appear to be a polygonal rifling like most blocks have now I'm told though you still should not shoot regular lead bullets out of these barrels but if this does not appear to be the same rifling I haven't done a bunch of research on it I just know what Glock says in their sales literature rest of the innards appear to be very much the same the other thing you're going to notice right out of the gate with this gun is the trigger it's a lot cleaner a lot less sloppy and spongy is how I would describe it it doesn't feel like some amazingly tuned trigger but that's okay because I shoot stock Glock triggers this trigger though is 10 times better than a stock Gen 4 maybe I'll save 2 times as good I think that's probably a better assessment than 10 times the other cool thing is this gunships with 219 round magazines so you mean that means you can carry 20 rounds onboard this gun load it up I've got 20 rounds if I top the chamber off which will do so I've got 20 rounds onboard now with this pistol and it's just as concealable as my 17 a touch lighter we're gonna do a couple drills here today you just saw us do that fun little mag dump for the heck of it just want to show you 20 rounds onboard and we'll do a couple accuracy drills I'll do a couple things up close here on some post-it notes and then we'll go to like 15 20 yards and shoot at some small steel plates let's check it out so one thing I forgot to just tell you is this gun shipped to me with stack block night sights which to me are not very nice they're big and bulky they're made out of an injection molded metal not quality stuff I swapped them for some Amerigo these are the two for style sites that Amerigo makes by the way here's the code for a mirror glow from Kerry Trainor if you guys want to pick these up these are a nice narrow front sight cartridge front sight serrated blacked-out rear this is a strict target sight definitely can be used for concealed carry what I'm saying is strict targets sight is this thing is about as good as it gets for a fine clear sight picture let's see what this looks like on that posting just gonna run a very slow accuracy drill here [Music] we're at about six seven yards here six yards those are all great hits I'm happy with that the trigger off the bat I spent so much time behind that Wilson combat I don't shoot the Glocks enough anymore the trigger though is definitely crisper and cleaner than the stock Gen fours that we've been using for years better than the threes I'm happy with it I'm gonna do that again at one of those post-it notes down low and then we're gonna take a step to the back of the range yeah I dig it I gotta get used to the old Glock thing again but I think I could save my life with it I'm gonna drag this barrel to the back of the range and we'll try to shoot up these pieces of steel do a couple quick draw wire my sights read about 17 yards from those eight inch steel plates here we go [Music] [Music] so is the 19x the end-all-be-all maybe if it's what you like if you like the full-sized grip of a 17 and you don't like finger grooves this may be your baby I enjoy it with these extended magazines you've got plenty to hold on to depending on how you carry you can still hide it I don't have any cover garments on right now but with this extended magazine that things off my body a good leave it but with a flannel or something like that on not a problem I do like the overall length of the gun the weight of it the way she feels that trigger much nicer as I said in the stock trigger and you know what for what you're getting out of this if you don't need major upgrades go out and pick this one up without having to do much of anything to site swapping out the sights you're in business you've got a very good duty weapon or self-protection weapon I probably will still send this off to my friend Ben dat bore sight solutions have him work over the trigger guard and get her all Bend up for me so to speak but as is it's a good shooting gun it feels great I own many Glocks and many Glock accessories so I do appreciate the fact that magazines and all that holsters my better holster right here I don't need any new gear so I appreciate that they didn't change anything were those kinds of things would have been problematic Glock 19 X if you're looking for a good middle-of-the-road weapon to protect you in your family you cannot go wrong with this I would just change the sights that's all I think I do [Music] let's see what that looks like tell you what the super valve is no joke we were able to put all five hits on target
