[Music] tonight on game night Nikki Lincoln rusty and myself Dave are going to play Ganz shown clever a game for one to four players published by Schmidt's pilla and designed by a Wolfgang Marsh so let's roll and write hey Dave yes Lincoln wait teachers ganz sure and clever I will but first I would like to explain that this is the game Gannon clever this is the box you buy it in these are the dice the game comes with and this is the scoring sheet that comes with the game we have blown that up extra big to play it here on camera so you can see what's what so we're playing with everything that comes with a game including these are the actual little pens that come with the game but we're using these just don't think you get these with the game when you buy the game so what if they fit half with nope you can make them slightly smaller do that I suppose yeah it's shown clever is a fun little rolling right that is gonna sound trickier than it is but it's really cool and here's how it works a four player game is going to be four rounds one two three four all right you know see it there bit here these little three things this is if you play three players you play five rounds and if you play one or two players you play six rounds so a four player game is gonna be four rounds so I'm just gonna cross those off so I have to think about them round works the same all the rounds are gonna be the same way which is someone will start as the active player let's say it were me I'm going to take my turn as the active player then when I'm done Nikki will take her turn as the active player then Lincoln then rusty that is round one then we will do round two and then it will start whoever starts each round will be the same player it's just gonna keep going around and round and round until we have all been the active player four times and at the end of Round four we will score in high score wins so when you were the active player this over here you're gonna roll all six dice you're going to take one of them you're gonna put it on your mat and you're going to immediately do something then you're going to take whatever dice were made and you're gonna roll them on and you're gonna take one and put it on your mat and then you're immediately gonna do something and then for your possible third turn you're gonna roll all available dice you're gonna take one on your mat you're gonna merely do something all right the catch is that when you hear this is a good roll actually when you take one of the dice to do something any dice let's say I take this Green 3 and I do something with that any Tice that show pips lower than the one I took this orange one in this blue 2 for example but not this white 3 because it's the same it's not lower those essentially go over here and are locked out for me now for this turn so that after I take the Green 3 these are now the only three dice that I can reroll for my second time and if I were to take this yellow three which I wouldn't because these two would go over here and my turn will be done I would not get a third action a third die and you want to do that so I would probably take maybe this one or this two if I took the one I could then roll both of these and for my last roll I will take say this yellow six I have now taken my active turn as part of my turn which is to say at the end of my turn you three as passive players on my turn will now get one of these three dice that I haven't used or if for whatever reason I took that one that one time if there were four dice there you would get one of these four dice you are not drafting them you're just picking one and using it so if you all want the purple five you know I'll take it right that is the end of my turn it is now Nikki's turn she's gonna do the same actions that I just did she's gonna roll all available dice she's gonna take one and immediately use it etc etcetera she will leave at least three dice left on the little platter here we will all take one so you were always getting it die on someone else's turn as well and then at the end when rusty does that that's the inner on one and we're on round two so let's talk about the dice and what they do there are five different colored dice and you have five different color areas so each of these dice corresponds to one of those areas the white guy is wild and can be used as any of those five colors all right when you take video mode I let's say you take the yellow dye and it's got a six on it you immediately cross off one of the two sixes that you start with in the yellow area so I'll cross off this one all right if on the subsequent turn I roll the yellow six and I wanted to use it I would have to cross off this one because the only one I have and now if a yellow six comes up I cannot use it which is to say I can't even defensively take it so you can't use it you're only allowed to take a dye and put it here and use it if you can actually use it so that's what the yellow dye does all right blue when you take a blue dye you are going to cross off a little box here in the blue area if you note here in the blue area you will see they run from 2 through 12 which are the numbers you get when you roll two dice 2d sixes right because when you take blue blue is always the sum of the blue dye and the white die wherever they both live on the table so if I were to take this blue 2 that is really a three when I cross it off here because 2 plus 1 is 3 and if that were a 4 instead it would be a 6 all right so if I were to take this as a 6 it would be a 6 here for that and now let's say I reroll these and if I took this white dye that would be a yellow 2 or a green - or an orange 2 or a purple 2 or a blue 4 because again you always add the two together you're using the white as a wild essentially as a blue violet in that case and I would cross off a 4 if that's what I had so that's how the blue dye works and basically that's how the white dye works again it can always be wild for any couple all right green purple and orange all fill in from left to right which is to say when you use a green or a purple or an orange you deal with the first available leftmost empty squinter alright so you can't go I'm gonna check this one and then this one and then this one green is pretty simple when you take a green dye you simply have to meet the restriction of the next space that you must do so in this case we all have to start here and this restriction is the number shown on the dye must be greater than or equal to one which is to say any number ruled on the green dye one two three four five six gets you to cross off this the next one is two three four five six three four five six four five six five six then it resets all right so that's how green works orange and purple unlike the other three regions work differently as far as how you notate them in this case orange is the only dye that has no restrictions so you can always use orange when you take orange you actually write that number into the box into the next available block so in this case you're not Xing it out you are writing in the number three okay and again as I said there's no restriction Orange you can always use it but in orange there are three spaces that have visible times two and one that has a times three if I'd rolled say a five and I was up to this square instead of writing five here I would write in ten because it's times two you just multiply that and that's what that is alright purple works the same as orange as far as how you write it in purple too I'm gonna write two in the first available space that I have for purple but you will see that purple has a restriction and that is the next number after this in purple must be greater than the previous so only a three four five or six can go here hey Dave I anticipate you asking me if I write a six there nothing is higher than six that's because when you write a six in purple it basically resets which is to say anything can follow a six but these don't have to be in sequence you do not have to write a three here this can be a five and then a six and then once that six this can be one two three four five six it could be another six even right and then after you could put anything six basically resets purple okay so that's how the dice work let me add one little wonky distinction when I take this blue two as a blue seven okay that is still for purposes of what dice are available to me it is only a two so for example taking this blue two means I do not have this orange one available to me now and I roll the rest but this doesn't count as oh that's a seven therefore I get none of these okay all right probably you didn't think that but you never know you never know all right so what is it you're trying to do you're going to score each of these areas in a different way yellow is going to score based on columns if you have this column completely filled by the end of the game it will be worth 14 points and you can score multiple columns in yellow if you get all four columns in yellow for example you max this out at sixty points all right so that's how yellow scores blue is going to score by the number of blue spaces you've crossed off based on this little chart up here so if you've crossed off seven blue spaces by the end of the game you will scored 22 points for that the points show red above and if you actually did eight you'd get 29 et cetera et cetera Green is just simply how far down green did I get however far down you got the score for green is wrap above all right orange and purple score the exact same way and that is you are going to add up the sum total of the numbers you've written in there so currently in orange right now I am scoring 19 and currently in purple I am scoring 13 right it's just how they add up there is a sixth way to score in this game and that is these five foxes that are on your score sheet Fox Fox Fox if you complete this row that's a fox and if you complete this row that's a fox a Fox what you're going to do after you've scored these five areas you are then going to count up how many foxes that you have you will likely have between one and three of them and then you are going to multiply that number by your worst scoring area so if for example you scored zero and yellow and you have three foxes your foxes score three times zero is zero but if you scored 20 in yellow and that happens to be your lowest scoring area then obviously every Fox is worth 20 okay so that's scoring but there's all these other stuff on the board because these are little bonuses that you get immediately during the game so for example if I roll these and this happened to be a 2 and I took this 2 I would lose this wild one because it's lower than a 2 but not this purple 2 because it's the same number I would check off this yellow 2 and that immediately because I filled in that row before I even reroll for my second thing that immediately gives me an orange 4 so I'm gonna put this orange 4 here and hey better match for what immediately gives me a yellow and I'm gonna take this yellow right here and now I have this Fox done before the end of the game so there are places like this gives you an immediate blue filling in this row of blue gives you immediate orange 5 going down this way gives you a purple 6 you just write it immediately and a blue and a fox and so you get these things immediately again before you roll and it's possible you can daisy-chain them we're like putting one thing somewhere it gets you five things all right there are two other symbols that I haven't explained this little swirly one right up here that also is right here is you probably guess that's a reroll all right when you get a reroll and we're all gonna start with one but when you get a reroll the rules of the game suggest that you circle the space that the thing is and then when you use it you either draw an X or like an International sign for not through it but I like to just put a dot in the middle and then exit out like that all right you can do it any way that makes sense to you but you are keeping track of your rerolls here you we're gonna get a reroll at the beginning of round 1 and the beginning of round 3 and you can also pick them up I say doing this blue column or filling in this purple 6 which I did or this orange space right here all right the other thing up here is a plus one of these this is where the game is a little tricky until you play it once a plus one is not it's not like adding one to a dye number it's giving you a chance to use additional dice so I'm going to take this purple 2 and then this yellow to and this aren't six and these are here all right and that has been my turn and let's say for sake of argument I have two plus ones if I want to once I have done this part of my trend you cannot use these in to you or at the end of your turn I can use a plus one to reuse any of these six dice not just the ones I've set here I could take that green for if I wanted to right now or I could take that are six again I used it for my regular turn and now I'm gonna +1 it so I'm gonna take an R on six and hey that around six gives me a plus one huh and now I'm gonna use this plus one to do any of these five dice once you have plus one a die you cannot double hit it okay all right and I can use the plus one I just gained this turn if I want to at the end of my active turn on your passive turn you guys are gonna take on anything one wild anywhere or a green four or a blue five and note that if this looked like this you would take an orange six or a green four or in anything one or a blue five if you wanted to use this as a blue it doesn't matter where these two dice live on the table they just always get added together and once you took one of these three you can't do it beforehand but once you've taken one of these three if you have plus ones as passive players you may now use them to hit any these six dice including the ones I put here on my score sheet all right so it's a way to if I'm more likely to take the better dice and leave you guys than not better dice or the higher dice and leave you guys the lower dice just by how the drafting system works so you could go all right I'm gonna take this green four and I'm gonna use a plus one to use Dave's purple six and if you had a second plus one you could use it to use my arch six but again you could not use the purple six again because you can't double hit it when everyone's done with all that these dice will pass the nikki and she will roll and we'll go again the we get a plus one also at the beginning of round two and when I save the beginning of round one round two round three run I haven't got to there yet it's we all get them so at the very beginning of round one we all get a reroll then then the active player starts run one and last but not least at the beginning of Round four you are going to get essentially a free advancement on your board you're going to get an X in yellow or blue or green or instead of an X you can take an RN six or purple six you basically just get one free advancement tape what if you can't use any of these three colors that are left to you that is a fantastic question so let's say I have left you this can't leave you orange there because I know it guess you can always use orange so let's say I've left you this and you can't use the purple three cuz it's not higher and you can't use the green one because you're advanced too far and you've already just crossed off both your yellow Tunes if this is what your choices are you may then choose from my desk yeah it's sort of the don't try too hard to screw everybody fit I mean usually it doesn't work that way usually what happens is it's just again these tend to be the lower dice these tend to be the higher dice right cuz these are the dice that usually fall off especially as you start filling stuff in at the beginning of the game pretty much everything is good but once you get to round two and you start to be focused in certain areas and there's certain things that can't help you etcetera etcetera um I believe that's the entire you other than I will bring this up in the middle of the game but I'll just say it up front right now don't be afraid to use your rerolls that said I have ended many a game with like four unused rerolls the thing you have to sort of get over sometimes is there's this gamer notion of how do i optimize what I roll oh this isn't what it read exactly what I wanted so how do i optimize it and the answer is don't optimize it maybe just reroll everything okay all right um let's just move - nice to see you guys first how's that five what oh I see this six all right Nikki you roll higher than the six four oh all right two sixes I never thought it would be two sixes roll-off nine nine eight okay so I start that's good television all right luckily we have another one for me good to be cheatin so at the beginning around when we all get a real rope and then this is round one okay finally we just move this off well it's the platform right okay six blue yep a one green maybe that's what I'm gonna take the one green yeah okie doke know what happens to be an X let me get an X there's a case they made to take that one as a wild well you could have taken for example the white one that's don't use it as a one green I know if you're trying to get these lower numbers it seems like that those are hard to get but also getting the higher numbers right hey yes it's like perfectly set to do what I need to do okay so five blue five purple to orange for yellow five and anything to you could for example take a two green and keep going on the green I think I'm gonna go for the five okay take it this way though because they take well you're gonna drop both to so that's right that's right and you try you probably don't although it's a behaving game it does really matter you don't want to give us the wild dice if you can help it because it gives us the most flexibility all right okay blue six purple for arms three yellow to blue six alright and there's no plus ones to be had right now so we get one of those I'm gonna take the yellow - yeah I think I will as well that's a good one hey rusty it's for Rusty's turn alright thank you hmm I think that purple five everything goes away except for the you know geez Lou write those to be wood stack right but I don't think I'm gonna do that no you don't you want the proof these were all scissors in case be me for doing that but they're not I think I'm gonna take the one green because it makes sense it gets me out of it there yeah yeah and you throw everything to blue with the six these blue six right with the white form of e wouldn't be low enough yet for quite what I want yet we jump my gun he knew it he was saying we jumped the gun but if I don't take that the blue goes away hmm well it's not really away you're just gonna get one blue I won't have the opportunity to use it on third rule though I think I may still do that oh I'm sorry about that never minute I think I may still wait take the purple three the yellow four I think I actually am going to take that that makes the most sense that we'll do that and then regardless of what I take the other three will go on the platter for you correct now if you want another blue you could use your reroll I could I could it's a low blue I might get something lower but I think I'm going to take the purple five that looks pretty sure that seems like starting purple pretty high right I know six can go after that you're right I forgot about that rule thank you you are welcome I would think you're gonna want one of these ideally you probably want to use that as a for somewhere sure so that we don't get it I think I will take that that's an excellent choice you can still take that as a yellow for yes all right we get these and I think I will go this fashion hey yella for everybody got their stuff yep yep here we go dice me baby thank you alright I am going to take this one as a purple one here yes that's what I wanted I will take a blue too this is what Lincoln was talking about earlier right if you if you lock in the white as a low number then you give yourself the best chance to get below blues that way and last but not least I will take the purple three so you guys get these hmm now I'm not saying any of you should take the orange one but let me also say that you will be putting some low numbers in here mm-hmm so don't be too averse to taking orange when it's not a 5 or 6 right or even a 4 right even a 2 or 3 is not necessarily bad because advancement sometimes is better than waiting for the big numbers right as long as you're taking other stuff if you you know you know locked out at the beginning the game your does everything's good right everybody got their stuff yep I have one all right okay all right Nicki so probably either the purple one or the three for something why not that orange six yeah but then all these are done that's why not the orange six now you could try for it it's the beginning of the game anything you roll on Green will be fine and by the way anything you were all on blue will be fine but I would think you're better off not doing that yeah I don't want to do that I don't know why I forget that rule all the time it's one of the rules that makes the game crazy yeah so I'm gonna do the purple one nope one rule put that cap on them marker oh okay this is the part of the game that always like don't wanna take the white or don't want to take them you want to take the blue then you can maybe roll a higher because the right ring because the white is wild it can be used anywhere on your board okay so if you rolled a one again mm-hmm instead of let's say you took this and you rolled a blue one and now you can't take a blue two because you've taken it already and you give will not me in this case but you would give us a blue two but if you take it this way even if the one on six chance you roll a one again you can take that as a yellow one or a green one because it's worth it okay that makes sense yeah well I'm taking it as a grill correct so dunt dunt yeah you want that to be like a 2 or a 6 the perfect example just happens take that's another - yeah but that's one for anything or six orange or if you want to go six arms and give them the purple tube that's one blue - yeah that's the only one in the yellow no those the one right there's another one that's not it doesn't finish the line it felt so close yeah yeah alright that you guys know that's six so sexy yeah try some different alright that is the end of round one there's now the beginning around two and at the beginning around two we all get a plus one and Lincoln and I know it seems like oh my gosh 425 weight percent way through the game and I don't have anything on my board but you wait to see it all fills up Wow hmm not gonna be purple this round cuz I took that five so blue nine orange for yellow for L for blue fumar yeah it's pretty good all right or whites or a while six don't not blue for um well that is terrible the other it's not that bad yellow three green three yeah three is not bad I think I will hmm so you can't use this now you do have a reroll I don't think you need to use it yet no I'm good well even an orange tree would not be bad just to move you for that's true yeah okay there you go guys alright we get this so I can't use the poop too I will take the green one yeah that looked good to me okay resting I can't use the green one so I'm going to have to use use the orange too and the purple I'm gonna go with a purple tube just in case me flip okay great gives me greater flexibility for the next one alright I should have said this but I didn't before we do this did you want to use a plus one at the end of your turn you could you didn't but you could have now do any of you guys want to use a plus one you can remember you can use it on the three dice that Lincoln had if you want mmm nothing too sexy there I'll tell you that no well yeah I think for happens often well blue for would be I know from me my advice is don't use it now but I'm just saying if you wanted to this is where it would happen alright okay alright hi rusty thank you ooh green one still does me no good I can't take it so we're going to lose that automatically unless you reroll yeah you can reboot now but blue eights not bad purple for is not bad hello three is not bad although probably just the blue eight so you can roll everything I think I will go with the blue eight and none of us can use that that's good move oh that could be a blue for yep that could very much be a blue for moving the orange one away I don't mind that nope no all right well that purple six or that purple three that's what you want hey hey or the yellow six over the yellow six which are both pretty good I think I'm gonna go with yellow six just because I'm glad you did actually it kept me cuz it explained to me now before we do our thing do you want to use a plus one and remember you can do it on all six of these who and I can use the weight as a different color this time it does not have her absolute correct it is just a while can't be a blue two though correct right well bleep I am going to say no all right right now I'm going to say no I would agree so before you guys take your thing I can't use a blue one and I can't use a purple three so I'm required to take that orange one eeeek and if I had that on my time same boat as you you would have correctly bone I can't use the green I can't use the purple okay I mean yes I can only use the orange but get Yuri rolling yet now I'm also not going to use a plus one but we could also use a plus one remember if you wanted blue or yellow yeah alright go for Dave okay I'm good come on I know here we go what do I want I don't know I want a blue for it yes I'm not gonna mess around yes Wow that is what's what that green is being the wine it is terrible all right I'll just do this and I'll take that as a green and then come on higher than three purple Wow yeah I'm taking the three and I am not using a plus one okay interesting same thing just happened to me I think I'm required to take the orange one as am i yep again it is an orange - but did you did you does anyone use plus ones no gonna be freaking out we hope so what you want us to awesome roles in one crappy one the amazing name one yeah what mm-hmm it's weighted funny it's how those just um sometimes these though oh yeah I again yeah yep probably want one of those yeah I'll probably take a three let's take the yellow three all right useless green one for all of us which three that free I in case you didn't see it this diagonal in yellow is a plus one mm-hmm okay all right there's that yep seven take a blue seven easily and then you get to roll the rest yep yeah that doesn't work I'm gonna do that so blue blue seven seven my blue seven sorry it's okay we know what you are come on Nicky all sixes there's a six though if I want it yep well not if you want it you should absolutely where do I want it well it's a blue eight but I think the best place for it is a purple six yeah cuz it resets your purple yep for that six but I think the purple is and it's gonna get me a RiRi yep we're all that's not the purpose yeah sorry okay I was grabbing I can't be all purple again okay so six I will take that purple five me too that's cuz I get a another free X here on the yellow hmm goodness what do I do okay that makes sense that's good did you want to use a plus one I might do that even yeah you want to use your plus one on the six then reset your purple uh or do the ain't but I think I'm gonna just do that yeah what can I have you reused yeah you can't you can show you this yeah as another six again you could take another purple six in fact if you wanted to get a blue X get a blue X that works I will do that okay so that's this one yep you take the six isn't it you're taking the wild six it's a wild six and then I'm marking an X in blue so you probably want to mark the 11 or the twelve mm-hmm the lower numbers believe it or not are easier to get because well I use to roll them you roll them early in your rolling you can get them how many times for keeps coming up yeah all right done okay everybody got what they need I do this round three yes Lincoln is this part clear right yep everybody get a roll we're halfway done hey you two green nice yeah yeah that's hilarious I don't even think this was a to Greece I think I used a wild for this one yeah okay well blue seven purple one and purple one still again or a six think I'm gonna take that six in yellow okay do you want to plus one anything and I don't have one two plus so have you guys I apologize all right so you two rusty and not rusty but Nicky if you want that belief for it's right there for you yeah um I'm gonna take a three I guess I'll take the green three since I'm never gonna rule read oh man I wish I had a plus one take that three it's been terrible yeah but it's just cuz I've you know not getting the right that we've been rolling so many one greens I play - gave me this last week where at the end of the game this was as far as we gotten better and so my foxes being the game were six uh yeah still 18 I didn't lose my much because you have a tendency to when your board is bad most people's other boards are bad there you got what they want I'm Aaron okay you knew what they wanted no thank you I keep trying that but it doesn't work well right that's fine it was blue if I were to take that but that would wipe out most every no no take this for the five I was looking at it with the blue side up but even then it only dumps this you know well about that day well that's why would use it with the two and throw the other way but I could use the two is anything as agreed to for example so or lean to tomorrow yellow 2 or an orange - but not in this case a purple - I think I'm still gonna take it as a blue ok lose the 5 hey this goes right here and think it Lincoln I think you can rejoice because they can both use it mm-hmm I will definitely take that yellow one yeah hey it gets you plus one and plus one all right cool and every roll of everything left all right now comes the green one Oh we'd sit wait do you want the blue three their decisions I think I'm going to have to take that blue three well you can always use a plus one on the green six but you shouldn't probably leave us the blue three yeah I don't think I'm going to leave because we all do it yes I would have been fabulous the other hand we can +1 if we have them actually take the orange it gives me a plus one I think it takes the orange before you get plus one you want to use it right away I'm gonna take the green six I'm not messing around four plus one and then I'm gonna use a plus one on the green six and be done with green hmm you think here you have one left right one plus one right now yeah you probably don't yeah it's fine as crazy as it sounds you mean I almost do the same thing with the six but you know right yeah I think the best obviously the best use of a plus one is when it gets you a plus one back of course right all right everybody none did you do what you did yeah oh you got a plus one I got a plus one out of it okay cool did you want to use it no okie doke I was trying to figure it out but we good we injure you [Music] hey blue for useless hey but I will take that as a yellow one and I will go here with that those blue three blue three that puts that there and that gets me immediately orange five last but not least she well can't use three memory one here we go first we're was that the first we're all used yes come on purple six yeah I give you good stuff I won't even even think about it purple six gets me blue and I will take the blue twelve and I am not using a plus one I'm gonna use the plus one on the four green again yep dig in plus my plus one that's how it's done my friends uh the one or and I'm gonna take the plus one again to take that six from that you did that gets your ear oh yeah oh yeah the beauty is it's easy to see you should have one too right I should have three murals one two three and look I have three so if I do a plus one for the three it would be a three it would be a blue three if you took the blue - yeah yeah okay I'm gonna take it okay we're gonna take it tada and then I get a five yeah all right you then anybody then yep now all right here we go turn four no Nikki oh it isn't that was my turn okay good he's kind of bummed I didn't was exciting what do you want I don't know that well you can't take a blue seven I know I'm just putting it you can take the two yellow and orange can't do that yep can't take you could do the four I couldn't you tell you can't take you take the four of these go away yeah you could take that as a green to just really try to move yeah I know as far as like the low number goes it's pretty terrible yep okay there you go so I'm taking that as a green yeah dump the orange too oh yes thank you right hey I'm clearly an Opel I could do that if I really wanted to it get me another X this is not useful tags this is not useful to you right you could probably take that take that yeah let's do that yeah so there's that move that along so you don't get left behind yeah my orange is not too easy going great all right you just have to roll higher than a purple one and that's three rolls all right here ideally you want a 2 or a 6 there's a 5 watch this Cheryl no okay yeah we do it we roll we roll I agree at least at least one try it it'd be terrible no well make it like it too she was perfect three is great three threes great you want read that gets awesome yellow Alex yep I can get 14 points I could get an Green X he's pretty good I think I wanted the green X so I'm gonna do that cuz look that gets you a plus 1 get gets me up on ten points too plus one yeah which is really good at the end near the end of the game so yeah do you want to use less one do I see now if that had been a green 5 year before I've been the perfect time let's try to get over that edge that orange I would say you probably don't hmm I'm worrying about my oranges though okay all right we get this stuff and like it you like it I will today the one yeah well you can't know cuz yeah it was the one but I should have taken that one but it's fine just circle the other one we don't care okay that's what we would do normally yeah so do this and you haven't a circle over it okay and then know that I got to do this one those I meant okay I meant circle the one they're the best fun as long as you knew what you meant I will also take a yellow one and that gets me a green and that green gets me a blue and I'm going to take the blue eleven okay oh right we got what they need yeah it and now I'm just gonna take that other white one there if you took that that would immediately be a little purple six so that's not just clear yellow yeah we're just getting a free thing yeah I mind that here because that gives me better chance to get the yellow two which would give me an orange which would get me another action I'm gonna take the blue 7 which gets me a purple six and then gets me a fast one what I just saw that same combination there well sevens not obviously in theory the most common number at all but I'm worried so you have more blue than I do okay hmm you got a lot of rerolls if I'm not getting what I want here well this right here gets you over your green hump yeah yeah and gets you a plus-one courtesy of the fact that we know these circled X is the active one no no III did it already I I did both of these so they're both done now well great cuz I I did it in the better yeah so that too gets you a green and a plus-one oh I suit you're saying yellows yes do that it's fantastic so think that and a plus-one yeah yeah and you control everything yeah it's a way to do it so you go you want a blue one now the what hang on before you take the blue I am might be something else I want you know you got three sixes those are sexy oh this gives me a plus one as well if I take that six blue three is sexy too though I mean it's tough right yeah it's not as great as another plus one so here's why it's great though when you take the blue three the next green you get which you can get you can then take the blue eleven and that gets you a purple six right or blue twelve and it gets you plus one these are the cool decisions of the game which is right cuz that green is guaranteed right because any green goes there so you know you're gonna get it especially cuz you have a plus one worst case if none of us leave you a green you'll still get it right so how are you gonna use that blue when you get it this is what makes this game awesome well this is fine yeah gives me this just roll the purple six now you just roll it again this is a part of it so so tough is having to pick up all the sixes and roll again do you know he used the blue one gets to do everything yeah Oh purple six again what yeah I think I'm gonna take that yeah it's pretty sexy you know they're plus one so go ahead and pick that yeah then you would now do you want to use anything yeah let me see here there's Wow Lincoln that was excited I could take the green that gives me another X there so let's do that yeah and we're gonna take and then it gives me this one Wow okay that's you would then double that blue five or that orange five for ten right but that's another plus one I agree again these are the decisions right that make the game fun in my opinion I don't have any foxes I'm gonna take that blue well you get the green one for sure you'll probably get that one by the end of the game right but it's and you'll likely get the purple you can get the purple one you can almost guarantee the purple one now by using a plus one on your purple six so just do it now and tell ya the other six yeah just taking their purple six yeah now what do you want to do yeah this is the crazy part I guess I'm just gonna the only thing that's gonna give me something right off the bad news is the - yeah it's double - an eight yeah that's awesome and now you're one away from that Fox right which as long as you have a plus one you're guaranteed to get right okay I think that's it okay it's a lot of sixes on that purple it's great alright meanwhile yeah I'm to take the orange one to get me another plus one I'm actually gonna take which I will use the orange one for one just cuz I need our age five and I will definitely use a plus one for your purple six I'll take this was gonna say intimate well let's get look good what do you think first I like it I like figuring out the dice combinations I have a lot of fun trying to figure out what's the best what a way to do it it really depends on the people you play with it could be a very quiet game it could be a very loud boisterous game I played with different crowds right so that's what makes it fun you can take it pretty seriously or you can just have a fun time and give around and do what you can just not think that hard about it and it still is a good game Lincoln I just it's a great game I really really love it I've played it not as many as you obviously but I played it quite a few times I have now played over a hundred yeah yes because it's on bridge build yeah yeah I've just played about ten times but it's a crazy game because you can have just crazy luck getting what you need exactly cuz I've actually had a well over 300 scoring game twice how do you yeah I've actually never cracked 300 yeah it was shocking I was playing with three other people they asked me to sit down play and I'm like okay and you know I'm helping everybody that I can right and over in the corner I'm getting everything I need and you know I think I had four foxes which is huge if you can do the four foxes when you describe the last rule on this game because Nikki not getting what she needed and running at every roles no but Nikki not gave me Shirley rules and leaving the blue eight which I did not have writes out that blue eight you win I mean that's that got me this fox and it got me another blue it was it was one of those tipping points for me right and I didn't even know cuz I wasn't looking at my board when she was rolling right I was just pulling for you to get what you wanted to get the fact that there was a blue eight left just was lucky for me mm-hm or arguably unlucky for you because right I because honestly I it looks the score looks big but the thing I kind of like about the game is that there are tipping points like that where one or two just lucky rolls can turn it around and when you feel like you're doing really well at the beginning you can still get completely direct and if you feel like you're really being hosed the beginning there are ways it can turn around for you unless you keep rolling I think the green ones that kept coming up were hurting me in the beginning yeah and it I never was able to get to the point in the Greens that I was finally able to get over that hump but it was terrible well you and I got over that hump earlier so those green ones weren't as bad for us right a lot of it depends on just timing in this game sometimes and I think the Purple's also harmed me as well it just it got to a point where I couldn't find a purple at the right time to be able to use it well that was why I went for the five I'm just like you know what I always I feel I ignore the thought the purple and when I don't ignore the purple because look at all the bonuses you get right once you start climbing in there and I'm like I'm not gonna let me it hurt me though cuz it took so bad five dolls yeah early five really hurt you but then I just kept getting fortunate with the sixes well yes well once you've got that first six yeah and it unlocked it but then you're right the the sixes you got after that that was the lucky lucky part but even at that point if you had taken a one or a three or again right right you'd still would I would have done it it didn't matter it was just I was fortunate to be able to take the six whenever I mean Nicky gonna with her this to actually run purple and she did it cuz she had the little in fact well you and I are just behind her on that one right yeah but that's one of the things I like about that mechanic with taking high numbers you lose the options of the other dice there I mean that's where the green and the purple you've got to play strategically you've got to know when to take it and let other things go I also felt this was the other thing I did early on which I took these more yes I feel I feel taking toward the end towards an is desperate right yeah yeah you you could be robbing yourself of something that could be good there was a chance that I've I've taken that too and that would have been good for me because I think that was the number I wanted something I wanted would have helped me push something over the edge and that was like the last two what somebody's turned there either you're right Nikki's and it just was like well that didn't work out because I didn't have that extra one but to get an extra one I got six of them right right to get the X alone I have to complete purple which was not gonna happen this round anyway it's funny because obviously I've played so many times that I've done almost probably everything you can do except I never broken 300 I have certainly gotten to the end of purple in fact I've got to get a couple early enough that when I then checked off this green purple but that still means I'm neglecting somewhere else yes right I mean that's the thing that starts are kind of cool about the game the Fox is I don't think you can win with no foxes unless everybody has no foxes well I also feel this game is more you go six rounds but with to a two-player correct because you know the book is more of what you want not based on what other people have right you're getting more shots of rolling the dice and taking what you want and I think I mean I've only played that once but it's pretty exciting because you got a lot more stuff now of course if your roles are terrible what are you gonna do I mean y'know okay well then no getting over that hump the two-player game is also way more defensive when you play two player you are paying way more attention to what dice what you leave behind yeah all right I mean well we were desperate to just get what we needed most right I didn't do that I just was taking what helped me not paying any attention to what I was leaving you guys but in a two-player game you really have to look at that and there are times in a two-player game where you'll get let's say I really wanted this six but this green five came with it I will be in situations from times where I will reroll even though this is what I want because I can't let my opponent get this green 5 right that's the difference game initially enough in a four player game in a two-player game you get the same number of dice choices okay which is 24 in a three-player game you get one extra you get 25 hmm so you actually in theory should have in general higher the three player game because you get one extra die well part of what this I this is a Kenner nomination and it should be a Canada nomination because it is advanced yeah it's not you think it's simple there's other layers like if I hadn't wanted to stall myself and churn it out I mean I could have taken that blue would have changed my fortunes in certain ways right but it's like do I even care because I wanted another Fox that's what I was shooting for was on all those if I didn't get another Fox then that five-point gain or Sunday is seven point gain times whatever depending on what I have it would've been is good but you can sit there and overanalyze the entire map that's what you kind of just have to let it go right but it is an advanced game it's like the most advanced roll and roll I'd write I've ever played yeah I agree and it and I think one of the reasons maybe vennett's in the kennerspiel category is the first time maybe the first two times you play it there is stuff to wrap your head around oh yeah you know I don't I mean Nikki's played it a few times and she still has you know it's like uh I can't take that sick I have played a game where I've ended up with at the last turn I ended up with two plus ones that I couldn't use right net hurts yeah I bet I mean it's I I don't mind the rerolls so much because I basically got what I needed I never I didn't feel like I was choosing poorly you know I mean but yeah it's just terrible leaving anything behind cuz you really would hope to be able to maximize it all I mean didn't somebody get a plus-one left if they didn't get to use now everybody you know oh yeah yeah I just wanted one more we're just one more to get the maximum seven well I mean I wouldn't get there but I I just I you know you always wonder if I chose this or not that type of a thing right I mean I ended up not I've played games where these are the two that I've focused on and and these suffered a little bit and it's different right because this is a bunch of if you filled it I filled this up you know a couple of times and that's a lot of point 60 points is huge now obviously you're not going to be getting close to 60 and anything else but it's it's a man get over 80 in orange if you even if you just put threes and fours in here right is because if you can get to that times three at the end right with a six especially well it's no fun using the plus x 2 for the one I needed it was it was all it that wasn't if you notice here this is three girls in a row that I can only use ones from somebody else that was the only I can only have the orange one right so that was because I couldn't get anywhere in green and I couldn't get anywhere for I have two ones yeah it wasn't even but it wasn't even your lowest court area right no because I got a head there and put a bunch of points in there at the end what were you saying you were about to say something before oh I was just wanted to agree with Lincoln as far as the managing all the sections of the board because I've played where I just focused on the blue because you look at that 56 points and you're like yeah plus all the little bonuses around bonuses and it it doesn't work to just focus on on one section and then I totally agree with the whole the Fox thing that's why at that one point in the game I'm like I only have one Fox I'm just gonna do this because I want to at least have to Fox to double my points because you can't right it's just it's impossible to do it without having to be in the running I think yeah without having more than one Fox and they're not that easy to get so right and again you you can absolutely win the game with one Fox or even two foxes I just don't think I just I can't imagine you in the game with no foxes as I said unless everybody has no right or maybe the only one person has one in its it's really crappy well cool thanks for teaching us day you're welcome let's play again yeah
