by wall gun wash and published by Schmitz BL and stronghold games guns shine clever is a 2 to 4 player abstract rollin right game which also comes with a solo mode through the game players will be rolling these six colored dice in order to mark off squares or put numbers into their grid after a number of complete rounds for in a four player game 5 in a three-player game or six in a two-player or solo game players will total up their scores for what they've marked off in their grits and the player with the highest score wins in each of the rounds of play each player will take it in turns to be the active player and therefore in one round there will be as many turns as there are players on a player's turn as the active player he or three will ultimately take three of these roll dice and make three marks on his or her sheet all of the passive players who are not the active player will take one of the leftover dice to make a mark on their sheets therefore all players will be in the game on all turn so now let's look at how one turn in the game works to start a turn the active player takes all six of the dice and rolls them the active player then chooses any one of the six dice places it on his or her score sheet and plays that number in the matching color I'll explain the different ways you play each of the five colors shortly then any dice showing a number which is lower than the die the player took are removed from the circulation and place onto the silver platter which comes in the box insert the ice of the same number are okay it's only dice of a lower number which are moved here then the player rolls any dice that are left this sequence follows again the player chooses any one of the dice places it on to the second space play is that number in that color and then moves any dice which are a lower number than the die taken onto the saw player you'll notice that there is no section on your player board which corresponds to the color of white white is a wild color and you can use that number in any one of the five colors on the board if drafting it finally take any remaining dice and complete a third roll take one of these and play that number on that color and then any remaining dice whether they are higher lower or the same go onto the silver player at this point the active player will have made three marks on to his or her player board then all of the passive players in the game have the opportunity to choose from the three dice on the silver platter these choices are made simultaneously and without removing the dice so multiple passive players could choose the same die then all the passive players would play that number onto their player board as if they draw the die themselves so for example a passive player choosing this die would play a green - after all passive players have made their choice the dice are gathered up and handed to next active player who will roll them and go through that whole sequence themselves each turn in the game proceeds in this manner until the game is over now that we've looked at how the basic turn flows we're going to look at how you fill in each of these five boxes on your player board when you choose a yellow dye you'll play that by crossing off a matching number in your yellow box there are two copies of each number present in the yellow box scoring in the yellow box is achieved by filling in complete columns so a player who completely filled in this column for example with crosses would gain 20 points at the end of the game bonuses in the yellow box are achieved by filling in complete rows or the diagonal there are ways of achieving bonuses across all of the different spaces and I'll come back after this section to talk about what these bonuses do the blue dye is played by adding its value to that of the white dye and then crossing off the corresponding number so suppose the player took this blue three he or she would look for the current value of the white dye wherever it is in play it could be on the silver platter it could be waiting to be rear old or it could even already be among the players chosen dice then the player crosses off the number in this grid which matches the sum this sequence is followed as well if the player wishes to take the white dye and use it as blue in this case had to play it chosen and the white thigh instead of the blue dye he or she would then look for the blue dye wherever it is in play add the values together and still end up crossing the five the blue box scores an increasing number of points depending on the total number of boxes within it that have been crossed out for example crossing out all 11 boxes across the course of the game would be worth 56 points bonuses are gained by filling in complete columns or complete rows a green dye is played by crossing off boxes when the number on the dye meets or exceeds the requirements of that box boxers must be crossed out from left to right so for example to cross the first green box the player would need to take a green diet with a number of one or greater in other words any green dye will do crossing the second green box requires a two or more the third requires a three or more and so on in a sequence up the chain the Green Line scores an escalating number of points for each box that you've crossed out and bonuses are achieved on the Green Line when specific boxes are reached the orange line has the fewest restrictions in the game when you take an orange dye simply write the number corresponding to the number that you took into the left roast remaining box these boxes will be filled in from left to right and irregular intervals along this chain you'll find a space that's labeled times 2 or at the very end times 3 and when entering a number into that box either double or triple what you've taken at the end of the game you will add up all of the numbers that you've written in these boxes and that will be your score for the orange section so the incentive is to try to put fives or sixes into the multiplier boxes bonuses are unlocked when you reach a certain box the final box is the purple box when you choose a purple dye you write the number corresponding to that dye in the leftmost remaining box once again you'll fill these from left to right when filling the purple boxes out each subsequent number must be strictly higher than the one that preceded it in other words the next purple dye chosen would have to be a 3 or above this sequence resets after a 6 is chosen in the purple line so after this purple 6 the next purple could be any number at the end of the game the purple line like the orange line will be worth the number of points equal to the sum of all numbers written into it as for the other lines bonuses are unlocked as soon as a number is written in the corresponding box the scores in the purple line have no multipliers or escalations like in the other ones and therefore a fully completed purple line will be worth fewer points than one of the other sections fully completed but the purple line comes with a lot more bonuses and this makes up for its shortfall in points finally remember that the white dye is a wild color and you could use that number in any of the five other colored spaces but if you use it as blue you must add its value to the actual blue dye a couple of special cases the active player may find after rolling that there is no legal placement for any of the dice rolled if this happens the player simply chooses one of the dice but does not get to mark anything on his or her score sheet the passive player may similarly find that none of the three dice on the silver platter can be played on his or her sheet if this happens and only if this happens the passive player may choose one of the dice from the active players sheet to make the passive mark next we'll talk about bonuses and there are three different types of bonuses in the game immediate bonuses delayed bonuses and scoring bonuses bonuses can be gained by filling in rows columns or specific boxes on all of the colored spaces and additionally a bonus is gained at the start of each of the first four rounds when a round begins cross off the round and then claim the bonus shown this occurs for all players at the same time in other words when the first active player takes around 1 turn then all players will gain this bonus first we'll talk about the two delayed bonuses rerolls and extra dice when a player unlocks one of these bonuses he or she circles the next corresponding space on the track in this case as laid out here for example the player would have unlocked 3 rerolls and one extra dime a reroll may be used at any time by the active player to re-roll all dice that he or she has just rolled before making a dice choice so for example if the player did not like this role he or she could cross out one of these rare and roll them all again all of the eligible dice must be rear old when doing this the player cannot keep some dice as they are and rear all the others the extra die action can be used by either an active or a passive player but can only be done at the end of a player's turn in other words when there's three dice on the active players sheet and three on the silver platter to do this action the player marks off the +1 box and then chooses any of the six dice in play either on the active sheet or on the silver platter to take and play immediately so here the active player could now choose for example to play that yellow 5 and mark off a box like so when using a +1 bonus the player may choose to play the same die that he or she just played even if he or she is the passive player this can be a way to choose the same die twice in a row players can also use multiple plus ones on the same turn however when doing this the player is not allowed to use a +1 on the same die more than once next we'll talk about immediate bonuses which are any bonuses shown by one of the colored boxes matching one of the main colors in the game when a player unlocks an immediate bonus he or she immediately places a mark or the matching number in the corresponding color so for example by marking this box and unlocking this bonus the player immediately gets to cross out any one box in the yellow area unlocking this bonus would allow the player to mark off any one box anywhere in the blue area gaining the green bonus would allow the player to mark off the next box in the green area around the board there is an orange 4 and orange 5 and an orange 6 bonus and unlocking one of these bonuses allows you to put the corresponding number into the next box of the orange stripe in three locations on the board there are purple 6 bonuses and this allows you to place a 6 into the next box of the purple line finally there bonus that all players take at the beginning of round 4 allows all players to mark off anyone X or place anyone 6 into a corresponding color the final type of bonus that can be unlocked is the wolf and there's one wolf in each of the five boxes in the game and wolves will figure in final scoring and that's what we'll go through next after all rounds have been completed proceed to final scoring in the yellow section score the points for any columns that have been completed in the blue section score points based on this track for the total number of boxes which have been marked off in the green section score points corresponding to the last box filled in in the orange section add up all of the numbers that you've placed and score that many points do likewise in the purple section then find your lowest score for an individual section and score that many points for each wolf that you've unlocked add up your score and the player with the highest score wins in the event of a tie find your highest scoring section and whoever has the highest highest score breaks the tie if still tied victory is shared the solo mode of the game is played in the same way as the two player game except that you'll use a dummy player on your passive turn play your active term the same way that you normally would then for your passive turn roll all six dice and place the lowest three dice onto the silver platter if there's a tie choose the one which fell closest to the silver platter when you rolled them treat these dice as the one that the dummy active player took and then you get your passive choice among those you can then compare your final score against this table on the back page of the rule book and that's how to play guns shown clever we hope
