and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries i confess to almighty god and to you my brothers and sisters that i have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words in what i have done and in what i have failed to do through my fault through my fault through my most grievous fault therefore i ask blessed mary ever virgin all the angels and saints and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the lord our god may almighty god have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life amen [Music] [Music] on let us pray o god who adorned the bishop saint robert bellamon with wonderful learning and virtue to vindicate the faith of your church grant through his intercession that in the integrity of that same faith your people may always find joy through our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy spirit one god forever and ever amen a reading from the first letter of saint paul to timothy beloved teach and urge these things whoever teaches something different and does not agree with the sound of the words of our lord jesus christ and the religious teaching is conceited understanding nothing and has a morbid disposition for arguments and verbal disputes from these come envy rivalry insults evil suspicion a mutual friction among the people with corrupt minds who are deprived of the truth supposing religion to be means of gain indeed religion with contentment is a great game for we brought nothing into the world just as we shall not be able to take anything out of it if we had food clothing we shall be content with that those who want to be rich are falling into temptation and into a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires which plunge them into ruin and destruction for the love of money is the root of all evils and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains but you man of god avoid all this instead pursue righteousness devotion faith love patience and gentleness complete well for the faith lay hold of eternal life to which you were called when you were made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses the word of the lord thanks be to god blessed the poor in spirit the kingdom of heaven is theirs blessed the poor in spirit the kingdom of heaven is theirs why should i fear in evil days when my wicked ensnares rings around me their trust in their wealth the abundance of their riches is their boast blessed the poor in spirit the kingdom of heaven is theirs yet in no way can a man redeem himself or pay his own ransom to god too high is the price to redeem one's life he would never have enough to remain alive always and not see destruction blessed the poor in spirit the kingdom of heaven is theirs fear not when a man grows rich when the wealth of his house becomes great for when he dies he shall take none of it his wealth shall not follow him down blessed the poor in spirit the kingdom of heaven is theirs though in his lifetime he counts himself blessed they will praise you for doing well yourself he shall join the circle of his forebears who shall never never more see light blessed the poor in spirit the kingdom of heaven is theirs oh [Music] blessed are you father lord of heaven and earth you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom [Music] the lord be with you a reading from the holy gospel according to luke jesus journeyed from one town and village to another preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of god accompanying him were the twelve and some women who have been cured of evil spirits and infirmities mary called magdalen from whom seven demons had gone out joanna the wife of herod steward chuza susanna and many others who provided for them out of their resources the gospel of the lord in our gospel today we hear of jesus traveling and and the very practical aspect of well who's paying for the food and lodging and things of that sort and it's remarkable that the lord who changed water into wine and who multiplied the loaves for multitudes on several occasions when it comes to his own support depends on donations and we see something like that in the lord's church today the god who created heaven and earth and holds them in existence for the support of his church depends upon the generosity of the faithful [Music] pray brethren that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to god the almighty father may the lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church look with favor o lord we pray on the offerings we set upon this sacred altar on the feast day of blessed robert that bestowing on us your pardon our oblations may give honor to your name through christ our lord amen the lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your hearts we lift them up to the lord let us give thanks to the lord our god it is right and just it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks father most holy through your beloved son jesus christ your word through whom you made all things whom you sent as our savior and redeemer incarnate by the holy spirit and born of the virgin fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people he stretched out his hands as he endured his passion so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the resurrection and so with the angels and all the saints we declare your glory as with one voice we acclaim [Music] blessed is he [Music] you are indeed holy o lord the fount of all holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you [Music] in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me [Music] the mystery of faith [Music] therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of christ we may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity together with francis our pope and timothy our bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed virgin mary mother of god with blessed joseph her spouse with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son jesus christ through him and with him and in him oh god almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours forever and ever [Music] at the savior's command and formed by divine teaching we dare to say our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us deliver us lord we pray from every evil graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior jesus christ for the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now and forever lord jesus christ who said to your apostles peace i leave you my peace i give you look not on our sins but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and reign forever and ever amen the peace of the lord be with you always and with your spirit [Music] lamb of god will take away the sins of the we are world [Music] lamb of god you take away the sins of the world us [Music] behold the lamb of god behold him who takes away the sins of the world blessed are those called to the supper of the lamb lord i am not worthy that you should enter under my roof but only say the word shall be healed the acts of spiritual communion my jesus i believe that you are present in the most holy sacrament i love you above all things and desire to receive you in my soul since i cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally calmly spiritually into my heart i embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself holy to you never permit me to be separated from you amen [Music] [Music] our communion hymn number 593 593 jesus my lord my god my all [Music] jesus [Music] oh is [Music] oh [Music] is [Music] o with water [Music] thy goodness jesus [Music] oh
