guys i reviewed the footage and i didn't think that we really were able to explain what's going on with the exhaust valves good enough so we got james harmonica out and uh he's gonna just give you an example of what we're doing so they were like this but we need them like this so instead they're like when we're done okay all right cool thank you hell yeah brother you're on the policeman for on youtube channel [Music] [Music] doctor [Music] is that a rant you know they make an actual designated tool for this instead of destroying our wrench autocraft six bucks what the size is that 18 millimeter well it still works i guess it grabs the so it pushes the spring down grabs the retainer just right you tighten it and it pushes it down like that dude look at these bars ty these came out freaking fantastic not too shabby it looks so much cooler with the the actual like dive down bend versus the curve yeah i like that this before yeah dude you know how much mile an hour we're going to pick up look at the arrow you just improved the aerodynamics yeah that's that's at least 0.2 mile per hour that looks sick dude nice job so we're going for style points i see that and then the headers are pretty much done well everything's done yeah nice dude knocking it out just fire me up so you're doing some valve springs now yep now he's done do the valve springs as i get one side done you can flip the one side together and do the other side and we're doing some valve spring seals and then we're going to do the balancer and that's pretty much it for up here while ty is working on the ketchkin what you did some stuff dude what'd i do you're a belly pan trade oh it's round now yeah i cooked it on something i'm trying to think of what happened oh yeah trailer hit the trailer i tried to back it into the stacker and it caught like it's like this but the front now is like concave it's like this that belly pan just really takes a beat down whenever but we thought leroy was maybe on his way out so we ran the belly pan and uh turns out wasn't on his way out just getting started what this engine said so we're gonna change the oil throw some valve springs in it throw a balancer on it fix the belly band and we'll be back in action so guys we just uh put some pressure in the cylinder basically the way you can do valve streams if you put pressure in the cylinder it'll hold the valves up and then you can change its frames well we just did it on our first cylinder we tried and there was massive amount of air blowing by the exhaust valve that's not as bad as [Applause] go back to this one for a second the edge of the valve to valve seat where they seal can get compromised yeah basically guys if he hooks that on there there should be almost no air escaping i mean a little bit you should be able to hear air and barely barely feel it that's a real tough break you know but the engine's not hot so maybe it seals up better when it's warm the thing is valve valve seals hot or cold they should be shut yeah there's no yeah i think you're right there's no heating changing that on a valve so what you want to do send it put some valve springs in and see how it does let's try one more i'm going to check if they're all kind of like that i'd say send it but well the thing is the thing is it's making power so it's no question yeah it's not like it's not running but i mean you're losing a lot of leaving a lot of power if it's just a seal issue not like a bent valve yeah then you're losing a lot of power you're leaving a lot because when your exhaust valve shut and you're filling the intake full air boost fuel instead of it combusting properly in the chamber it's leaking out exhaust all the time you'll have that on these bigger jobs i mean that's just like one of these things as bad as that is if they're all leaking and this one being bad if there's any more that bad i mean you could be losing up to 2 300 horsepower yeah yeah this one's good that's how it should be that's how it should be you can feel it like there's zero you hear the air going into the cylinder but you barely feel anything coming out okay that's how it should be i would say let's just do the valve springs and put it back together and if it's a problem it's something we're gonna have to take care of after uh vegas i mean realistically it wouldn't be a bad idea to pull the entire engine and send it out like speed oh the whole motor needs a pressure okay so maybe we'll do that after indy how are the back two well i mean that one is perfect this one's good that one's good front two well cylinder two horrible so under four decent not that bad six and eight the reason we're not just trying you know like pulling the head and fixing it if you guys don't know six bolt heads are a freaking massive operation to take off of an engine and then we'd have to get them decked resealed the whole nine and the cars leave for vegas in two days so not to mention we have these athena head gaskets which are another job to uh work with but what we'll do is we'll send it for vegas and indy and clayson cars indy and then after that we'll pull the motor i think he kind of honestly leroy's probably gonna deserve a uh clutch refresh and everything at that point yeah it's got i mean even though we just did the clutch it's got you know what 25 passes i want to do the clutch for sure before race week so this will work out get the engine refreshed clutch refresh and then we'll be ready for race week tight yeah the biggest thing i mean is the works doing the work it's not the problem by getting it apart yeah it's getting parts god forbid some of the vowels are compromised to get valves right now yeah just everywhere everything else is on i'll just text backwards i'll call texas and tell them to start getting prepared so it's just not that we couldn't do it in two days to get it for vegas and be a hundred percent it's just we don't want to take the motor apart to have the issue of potentially not being able to get the parts because then you'll just have a bunch of stuff apart instead of we're going to let it rip dude it's all good it'll be all right guys i reviewed the dude these i mean although these were worth an extra couple hundred horsepower just from the texas speed powder coat job unfortunately these don't have any baffling in them so we're going to retire these put them on my bedroom wall so i can stare at them at night and we're switching over to these freaking sweet motion race works valve covers check these bad units out and james put these on his car when he was having bad blow-by issues and they made a huge difference so they have some internal baffling and they're just a really nice set of billet valve covers they're kind of just like the texas speed ones but this baffling is going to hopefully knock down our problem of filling catch cans and also what he's doing on that bench is going to help a lot too oh yeah the freaking burn down box you staring at oh big old box i know well the one before was just too small but and not to mention we had that one cylinder leaking into the 40 pounds of boost yeah yeah i was like 40 pounds of boost blown into my catch cam dude too small so between uh the new valve cover which you can see we already have one on and the bigger burn down box and the actual bolt being in the intake rocker we should be in really good shape with leroy's new set up 55 pounds or bus okay i mean something's gonna bust we do that so james is wrapping up valve springs over here oh you're almost all the way there and then we'll pop that valve cover on we'll be done up here go ahead and do the balancer put spark plug wires back on mount these babies back up and we'll be good to go ties wrapping up how's this thing looking dude it's looking like a triangle but it's going to fit see some welds man what's your best side best side oh i don't know i kind of rushed this one a lot brushed it dude i rushed it like falling fat man it's coming together one side's missing the ground so that's why but there's there's action now there's live action dang this thing's gonna be running soon just did a fresh rattle can job i'm the only one in this shop loud rattle can james just can't lay a clean coat save his life dude look at that i've seen your 240 so i just i figured i'd do it myself let's go for about 3 500 miles and 300 passes on yeah you let them rattle a little bit get them a little loose it kind of just you know let's run a little clean as i like to say so all right so james putting plugs in put the headers on then we can hang the new turbos we're going to be close today you're not taking me don't we normally like leave at least one oil feed off to make a mess pressure though yeah does that oil in it yeah i never drained it right okay dude it does look like it has eyebrows on the turbos turn them down and make it look like he's mad oh i didn't actually hook it up dude i did not mean to do that see it would have been fun i thought someone just came by hooked it up for me magically damn fresh turbo dude let me let me uh it's been started make [Music] hit the key brother are you hanging out on there real quick yeah let me pop this on real fast a little motion race works uh coil pack holder is pretty nice blinkers on that's a good sign the blinker is working the biggest thing is whether it will be smoking or not well it's going to smoke for a little while it's going to burn off once the world's growing off i'm pretty confident we probably fixed it i'm ready if you're ready my getting less and less i think we're good nice job [Music] cracker open all the two steps [Music] [Music] valve cover's loose [Music] that scared the crap sounded really cool for a second got a little bit of pressure in there and uh dripped out of the valve cover but you'll have that on these you know fresh slap together oh dude look at that all right spring break still spin all right dude well this is very exciting leroy seems to be back in action i'm telling you that was less smoke after like once it burned some out yeah i mean it was way better if that oiling issue we're having with cylinder number one that's cylinders washed down with oil so until that ring gets hot enough it really starts to seal and scrape the oil off the cylinder wall is when the smoke will stop i think about 100 pounds of boost will probably clean it off oh yeah so nice job ty dude dude excellent fab work really happy with how she turned out and we'll get everything all buttoned up we gotta tie everything back down we gotta put our turbo blankets on we gotta make our catch can lines we gotta do a bunch of vacuum lines all sorts of stuff we gotta bleed the brakes still we got the new master down here
