[Music] [Music] [Music] foreign it is an early morning for me i haven't slept yet but we are here out at kulinga it is the half mile event and it's time to take the record holder with completely new internals and uh see if we can break our own records so unfortunately in the last two years that none other rotary guys have actually attempted it or if they have nobody's really published their speeds but it's neat to try and keep pushing that further and learn more about these engines and obviously take the whole thing further so i got my infamous sticker i am number 282 i don't have a reason for that number that's what i was given we're going to go ahead and get it unloaded and then do a test pass just to see if this new turbo likes this car super saiyan 3. it's hot on the side okay it makes me feel better about my side thank you had neck hurting sleep okay oh you had sleep uh [Music] this is the first time we've had the whole car hood bumper fenders call me hood bumper fender man we got some cutting to do [Music] we're gonna go ahead and move it over to the speedlogic booth because they have shade you can fabricate we're going to go do a test run like no no wastegate so it'll be 14 psi which hopefully is still it'll be at or above 700 horsepower but just roll through the gears check the suspension check everything else and see if what sort of tune has changed because remember we're running a completely different turbo intercooler downpipe a lot has changed so we're just going to tune it on the run so don't expect a lot from this first run other than the fact that this car is going to be doing some awesome stuff [Music] oh [Music] ah [Applause] [Music] [Music] 950 that was sketchy as hell so the fourth gear i nailed it but the car was just like it was a lot faster i was expected to go something's really soft in the front it's very soft uh you'll see it in the gopro footage it's just like like this i don't know what that was so you guys ready for the new project reveal there it is i might have that censored you know what i don't have censored my hairline because i'm thankful for having keeps in my life that i can focus on trying to dot com slash rob now back to not revealing the project car i got to look at the logs i saw it going kind of lean kind of rich kind of i need to even that out totally different turbo it comes on harder than the older turbo does and of course it's going to carry the power that's zero wastegate pressure so it's 14 probably 14 psi that was your first time going past 60 right yeah in this car yeah i don't i don't know what that speed was i guess at least 140. i heard 147 yeah i think yeah that's what i was expecting just and i was out of power most of the time got the psi on this you know make a grip what a cool first run it was 147 miles an hour and i'll show you the graph right here every gear i was in a half and then let off because i was just watching to see if it was going to go super lean it didn't it was wonderful in fact the only time it went lean was when i stabbed it again because i don't have that part i don't have anything tuned goes to 14 psi super healthy this turbo is absolutely nasty oil temperatures stayed in a much more reasonable place than the stock coolers the stock coolers have been at 230 degrees on the run back here absolutely horrible this was much better coolant's great battery voltage is perfect everything's on good fuel pressure i'm gonna go ahead and do another run one of the front coilovers was completely loose the other one was completely tight which explains what you see is that the car was fighting me and that was really weird i've never felt that in this car so we tighten them both down gonna kind of see if i can make a full 14 psi pass with my foot on the pedal as hard as possible joel gets to do a ride along he's wearing a yellow vest this time and we're gonna fire her back up hopefully she runs i gotta get that tuned we're finally gonna get the epic like takeoff shot and we'll see we lowered the rear tire pressure i think to 15 that was at 35 so we have so much improved you know this car unlike the four road which never existed as a car this car also was in tons of pieces for years so uh pretty happy with where we're at but well we'll see if you've never done it before this is a very intimidating process lining up not knowing what group you're in what lane do you do a burnout normally i don't [Music] she's just building boost that's a surprise larger turbo okay guys i'll see ya [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] um [Music] oh my god that was still wastegate spring we did 171 172. this thing is rowdy as hell look at the log in a second but there was a big plume of smoke that wasn't smoke that was fiberglass because even yet i thought i've improved my front splitter skills not having a huge front splitter the bumper all under here completely gone no way yep i could feel it digging down but that's how insane this car is it's just it's just nuts absolutely nuts it's still not full pedal but that was my first time of staying in it per gear first and second gear were gone like usual but that was heating up the tires third gear i was feeling it out and then fourth gear was my insane power pole and i can tell you compared to how it was two years ago this thing has infinitely more torque infinitely more torque so again 14 psi wastegate spring and we almost broke our previous number it's pretty damn close so i haven't even tuned the map yet that's how insane this car is unfortunately i think i'm going to end up kicking up even more uh fiberglass if i go faster this car is getting absolutely sketchy this is the second time i've now hit the ground at different times of its life downforce i guess i'm gonna try and raise the suspension the front shocks just so it it can account for the additional drop because i can't go any faster otherwise the metal in the front is going to hit the ground and i'm going to be in a very dangerous spot so we're going to try and raise it up a little bit higher and if not i i can't run it it's [Music] terrifying [Applause] [Music] back in business we got one last run we've raised the front suspension i've done nothing else but i should be able to hold the car into boost longer i'm blown away this car is ridiculous i haven't even had a chance to tune in i got to get on the dyno first i can't tune it properly now so we're running really rich wastegate spring i'm not even adjusting that so really all we're doing the three runs are testing it getting better at it hitting the ground and then you know basically trying to just do a first run that's all i'm that's all i've been trying to do all day i don't know if i'll break my record but there's a chance you like spend so much time building in the garage and sometimes you lose sight of why or what the emotion is because building's fun building a car is fun but sometimes you forget like experiencing this this part is just not that it sounds cheesy and same it makes life worth living but my god is it is it a drug for people like me this is a pure adrenaline rush um [Music] [Music] um [Music] utterly insane uh sadly the zv1 died the moment that it i i did the burnout i turned on the gopro though so we got some gopro footage of that run that run was harder more torque than ever before and way more wheel slip i don't know what everybody here is saying i think i ran a 161. i was spinning in fifth gear i was i was trying to hold it side to side i need to get this on the dyno because this is way outside of like what you should be using closed-loop tuning for it's not it's not safe for this car at all we came we saw we maxed out the car at the half mile and of course it means time for some upgrades but what a rush what a rush that's truly the limit of the car as it stands in terms of the chassis and holding traction and fighting that the whole time the car is wonderful the engine is doing great managing heat way better but it's scary that's very scary looks good from this angle oh that's what you're complaining about the whole time that's it it the whole front of my car that was terrifying and that wasn't even the last [Music] run [Music] i was afraid to film this uh it was 110 consistently yeah the three rotor that's us right now today at is rotor 1.48 yep so i wasn't going to film it but i was expecting 80s we were saying 83 75 and it was 110. so it shows us how confident we are it's under promise and over delicious yeah so now we're gonna do rotor2 what the whoa look at the corrected value that's the one that matters most 109 109 108 that's consistent i was like oh the engine sounds weird doesn't it me and you're like no there's something wrong with the car and i don't mean that now i don't mean that in the engine i mean that exhaust because we had a boost spiking uh on the last run and that's why i blew the tires off in fifth gear is that i went way higher in boost and then the car just you can actually hear it in the videos if you hear from the amateur videos like the other people taking cell phone pics you can hear it reason crazy this one could break our hearts this could be the one that hurts us it's going to be the same i was just bullshitting him and i said roger 3 be lower that's not bad though no that's not bad at all road one and two are like off the factory floor and that's this is not this is all used parts rotor three is what we're just seeing consistently like 87 on this average yeah which is still good they're all in the exact same range i honestly was going in here just going she's hurt um rotor 3 being lower makes me wonder why uh because they were all built identical but uh rotor 3 is consistently lower maybe i took in some dirt you saw that the front of the turbo did take in some dirt that might actually come back up as we wear in okay i'm gonna blame it on not having enough braking models you know what the problem is we didn't use assembly lube that means that this thing is ready to go to the dyno again but now with all the new turbo new downpipe new exhaust all new intercooler new intercooler piping it's time to show how much power this thing was making to blow the tires off in every single gear
