Digging out stumps with a dozer

[Music] so all right i got a job lined up for this i just want to do a little bit of work to it first uh needs an oil change and battery [Music] you terminals you're hopping [Music] that's just there as a safety ah [Music] hey buddy [Applause] [Applause] um so now uh so all right so i was trying to service the air filter here this wingnut was stuck now it's broken so i'm not seeing a good way to get that off yet [Music] you know what i feel like i'm gonna be buying stuff right now oh that's grass [Music] still [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Applause] um here's 7 16 fine i think that might be [Music] it and easier look at that now we're easy again look at that [Music] geez look how i twisted this thing wow i guess that's still see what happened there i guess that's fine pre-filter ring a little stuff on this uh that shouldn't be hard so [Music] [Applause] gauge all right more solder pellets [Music] all right i feel good about that [Music] ah ugh i know it's tempting to hammer these on but don't batteries don't like that you just get this look at that there we go all right that looks nice that's a connection that should actually work now [Music] [Applause] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Music] all right cody and i are on this job today the plan is to kind of smooth out this area right here so i was on this job a few months ago and mowed this field but then the lady had some tree work done and there's a few stumps in here and just the whole area is kind of rough pop out all these stumps like this and dig a hole with the dozer and push them all in the hole and then just move the whole thing out so she can have grass here i'm gonna load that up differently i didn't like they got you got to be level when you're on loading this is leaning a little bit this is the septic field right here and the tank is up by my truck so i'm not going to touch those stumps but i figured i'd be safe here [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] okay [Music] [Music] [Music] wanted to all the stumps are out buried and what i need to do now i just everything is really muddy right now it's raining right now and it was raining earlier so i want to let this dry out a couple weeks hopefully we have some dry weather and i want to just come back and smooth everything out with a track skid steer because that will do a much better job i mean i think a low ground pressure dozer probably do a little better i could keep hitting it with that dozer and get it better um but i think ultimately just coming back and hitting this again is the way to leave it so those are work good it's got one little repair i got to take care of one i knocked off the cutting edge right there i have the piece though just the bolts broke and the other thing it's got an issue of one of the hoses i want to take care of so that's why i'm kind of calling this done all right well let's uh let's revisit this in a couple weeks [Music] all right i'm back here about a week later so we got levi here to inspect everything and uh he says it's dry enough to smooth it all out so this is what it looks like you know all this stuff that was mud now well at least the top layer of it is dry so all [Music] [Music] all right so i got that smoothed out pretty nice that's smooth enough to the point where you could throw some seed on this and mow it and the mower wouldn't break so now another easy thing to do here maybe walk around with a wheelbarrow or just throw in sticks and rocks into the woods but it's really not that bad you know another step you could do at this point is maybe york rake it or harley rake or the nicer thing bring in loads of screen dirt and spread that out on top of what's here but um you know screen dirt is pretty expensive around here so this is definitely good enough now i'm sure some people are going gonna ask about burying the stumps saying oh that's gonna create sinkholes and stuff now i've seen that done plenty of times and never seen a problem with uh sinkholes i mean one thing you wouldn't want to do is build something on top of it but as far as just having lawn on it um you know burying them was by far the cheapest thing to deal with as far as trucking stumps out nobody wants them and the people that take them it's expensive so um yeah the other option would be throw them in the woods somewhere but you know not all sites that's appropriate you know if it creates an eyesore so in this case burying them was the best option even if that sunk a little bit in five years coming back and grading that again or dumping a little bit of dirt in
