every morning the cows leave this enclosure which they spend the night in and then they go out whoops i made a mistake trying to step in there they go out up towards the mountains to go gracing and i'm going to enjoy that adventure right now and papa are you going to the city today how are you are you going for the gongo oh okay good luck i'm going to go out with the cows today okay see you later bye bye yeah so they they're in there at night so they don't run away and uh in the morning they separate the younger cows here they're gonna stay behind and they have that's why you had the women up here they're holding the younger cows back with the goats and then the the warriors as they call them they run out with the bigger cows so i'm gonna join them today and that may sound dull but it's actually very exciting we're gonna go to a little hot out there in the woods hey how are you today how is the water we're already finished water i know no water later we go get more water yes i come again okay i'll run out see you later [Laughter] the women are so funny i went to fetch water with them yesterday uh i didn't film that i have some iphone footage maybe i'll use it in the tree took like an hour to get it down so anyway you have hyenas here yeah and they also have lions but yeah they don't come to the village no you can only hear them at night night the only kind of dangerous animal i've seen is the green mamba yesterday up in the tree there's also a lot of black mambas here so they're living kind of in the thick of it here so i understand that he decided to be armed yeah sometime hyenas they can try and take the cow yeah and of course cows is how they they make a living here cows is money yes cow is money yes you get um everything with a cow you want something you you sell a cow yeah you even when you want a wife you sell a cow how much was one wife one wife like 15 in the five ten five fifteen cows yeah and you cannot bargain you cannot save 14 cows no has to be 15. yeah i see so that's yesterday medicine you don't know ah is that the medicine tree should we try some no yeah yeah okay you won again yeah why not there's a lot of medicinal spend the whole day with the cows watching over them because as i said they're worth a lot of money here cows are money and then the rest of us are going to stop at a hut and i don't think you've ever seen a hut or anyone living quite like the people i'm about to show you really a cool place let's hope they're they're there like they were yesterday you like the hat yes alabama the hat is from they find i know that this has value here because if you have this you spend money on your roof as opposed to roofs that are just made of clay and mud hello i'm investigating your hut from the outside now the rain does the rain is pretty heavy out here on occasion so you can just imagine hey when it's raining i think there's a little bit of rain come inside [Music] oh they actually have look at this so the rain water comes down here [Music] and into the bucket for for shower that's pretty cool to actually have a means to collect uh collect rainwater here yeah oh you're a vlogger now yeah times a month yeah on the fourth and uh 20th so anyway today is the big day and even those people out there who live out in the bush are going to that market so i'll make a market hunt video i'm going to try and buy some some cool supplies that will make everyone in the village happy so oh you probably want to know what this corn tastes like hello oh very nice yeah it's very nice my hindi beautiful so i guess that's it for this little uh little uh trek with the cows the cows continue out much further and then some of them stay with the cows all day i don't remember if i said so in the beginning and then the rest of us go back to uh to uh all the women and have a tea which they normally prepare and then we go to the market so see you guys at the market all right bye bye okay that's how they say bye bye we're not finished actually so this is their toothbrush this tree has medicinal properties and this is as you can see they all have very white teeth yeah good teeth yeah this is what they use to brush their teeth grass the toothbrush huh so good so good yeah the best toothbrush natural toothbrush so the village that i showed you earlier today now it's actually not where giraffa grew up yes you grew up here yeah so this is called old bulma as they call it it was right here yes it says right by that tree where you can see there's a little like a brown hill around the tree yeah now so these people were very nomadic i mean now they're less so more than before i've been told but it's pretty cool i asked him is there any trace here now of the fact that this is where you grew up and it's nothing now it's just nature yeah no houses no foundations nothing so once they uh once they move on it's basically no sign whatsoever that this is where you used to live yes so interesting very carbon neutral mamba yeah no mamba today now all right now we are back from the track and look at this is this don jr nice hey there ah they like this i'm not gonna leave them let's i'll go to your after a hard morning out with the cows it's time for a shower i don't think i've done a house tour yet but there's no running water not even a toilet in any of these houses so i shower using this bucket so with no running water or toilet or even a shower room in these cow dung slash mud huts that everyone's living in here you gotta improvise so i um yesterday i went on a track with a mule and picked up some water and this is that very water there is a water source i'm going to take you guys i'll do it again with the camera it's over there probably a kilometer or two not that far so that's how you uh you get the water for your shower and then we have here the a shower tree oh let's see then how we're gonna do this oh now yes i mean i am i am sporting underwear under here i'm not sure what the what the other people do so let's uh let's put this down somewhere so so i don't have a towel so i'm just going to stand here and shake this is actually my first shower in this was my first shower in two days i feel fresh but i wish i had another bucket but that's the thing we were able to fetch maybe like a hundred liters yesterday and yeah that's basically all gone now oh yeah one bucket per person and i'm not even sure that everyone gets their own bucket so some tribes people walking by too good thing i'm scandinavian we don't nudity is no big deal for us we have the sauna culture nude beaches whatever now if you think that i'm putting on a pair of fresh clothes afterwards that is not the case i'm putting on the exact same outfit that i have been wearing for how long have i been here now i think this day i think it's been a week so i'm gonna put the same outfit on but today at the market i might buy um another color maybe i'll go for a blue one like they're wearing so not sure i haven't done a house tour yet so i'm not sure i've shared this with you guys so my neighbors here that's three donkeys basically these three they're very shy whenever i come near they kind of get up and scream and run away and then i share my hut with uh with three goats they also have a tendency to run away when i come inside and then there's one cow hello are you doing some house studying the goat is inside let's go and say hello to the engineer so this uh yeah don jr don jr is to the he's to the left in the middle i haven't named him yet and then this one is even uh even more beautiful than don jr i think so anyway they don't they don't mind me when i don't uh when i don't lift them off actually when you lift them up and you put them in your lap they tend to fall asleep they enjoy that but right now if i were to go and pet them they'd kind of run around so right where they are now that's where the cow usually hangs out he too he leaves when i when i enter and then as soon as i leave the cow goes in he's a bit of a loner and then the goats are here in here at night in this one no there's nothing in here now no black mambas nothing anyway we are now going to the to the market and i'm gonna oh hey go go champion are you coming to my heart i regret to inform you there's no gongo in here the goat and gina i'm just talking to the engineer yeah so i guess uh the market we've been shopping we've been drinking we've been going back and forth i've been i've been um i bought the goat and now i'm cuddling with the beautiful probably the most beautiful dog in the village here and yeah who has been out with the cows today your brother yeah and they have they've been out there for maybe i don't know we're coming up on nine or ten hours now so that is the that is the life of a massage here all about taking care of the cows and spending all day with the cows i don't know i don't know it's very limitedly english english hair but english little bit but that's okay it was very it was fantastic to to uh to spend the days out by the cows and go to the market and so on so let's go back to the boma and wait for the cows to come back what's this dog does he have a name name ah and the other dog name is coochie i see now so for you americans who think that kuchi is a funny word and yeah it is a kind of a funny word who doesn't like coochie uh in masai language means dog like let's go and wait in the grass for the cows to come back and then maybe some tea or something drinking tea orguchi
