Anyone who likes this video, and who hasn't seen Dick Proenke's "Alone in the Wilderness" movies needs to go see those right now.

I am glad someone updated Dick's original concept. A stove, concrete, and a Dog are welcome additions to the genre (if such can be called a "genre").

I dream of one day doing this... said the guy, on the Internet... knowing he probably never will.

Also, because of the dog... technically this guy wasn't alone. /s

Honestly, if I don't ever settle down, this is me in about 20-30 years... or whenever the collapse comes. Whichever happens first.

This series is brilliant; I've been following him for a while and it's interesting to see the common building methods that he uses that was used in my family's homestead in northern Minnesota by my Finnish lumberjack great-grandfather. Really cool stuff.

I remember seeing one of his videos posted when he was close to or right at finishing that cabin. I subscribed immediately. I don't necessarily enjoy when he's talking to the camera/audience, so I skip those parts. But when he's working: that's where the real treasure lies. Just a dude out in the woods doin stuff.

I'll even watch him cook dinner for himself and his dog.

Starting that project the cabin in September was a ballsy move.

Edit: ok, my guy just made a spoon.

Edit 2: I skipped too far at first ahead and didn't realize how much work happened before the cabin construction.
