Far Cry 5: 2 Years Later

I loved Far Cry 5. I didn't love the forced abduction thing - like you'd be flying a plane and somehow kidnapped.

But the soundtrack - oh my god Dan Romer's new-country-written-by-cultists is TOP fucking shelf for video game music.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6RIoczZ9JQ is my favourite track. It plays when you 'win' the game by doing the secret ending at the beginning - instead of arresting the Father you decide you're outnumbered and back out.

There are multiple versions of these songs in the game - the soundtrack versions, choir sung versions, and more upbeat radio versions.

I'm early in the video but I'm glad he hit on something I was saying about the game at the time. I'm Irish, miles of pine covered mountains filled with rustic American architecture along with bears and cougars is exotic to me. American reviewers complaining about the games "mundane" location really annoyed me.

Anyway, I love Far Cry 5.

Ah Far cry 5, I really wanted to like you but the constant kidnapping to force the story down my throat got stale really quick.

Great idea for a game though as the video demonstrates.

What a coincidence, I'm replaying it right now (2/3 leaders killed so far).

Far Cry 5 has by far the best open world design of all recent Ubisoft games imo. I didn't feel overwhelmed by the content, for instance there's only like 19 outposts to clear out in the whole game, the stuff to do is diverse enough, Prepper's caches are fun to do. The map is gorgeous, the experience is pretty immersive, the companion system is great.

Aside from the constant abductions which make the story pretty ridiculous, I honestly have no other major complain about the game.

I see people complaining about being attacked every 10 seconds, that's not my experience at all. When in unconquered territory (aka local outpost isn't liberated), I tend to walk most of the time as opposed to using a vehicule, , feels more natural and RP to me to be sneaky, it doesn't cost much to crouch in a bush and wait 3 sec for an enemy convoy to pass by.

Alright hate to shit on something that clearly had a lot of effort put into it but is anyone else bugged by how little sense a lot of this guy's script makes?

"To flesh out the world, the County instead hopes, to make travel a meaningful and routinely engaging activity... in one way by dotting the world with collectibles, and in another way by making the roads just as dangerous as they were before, but never more incentivised"

"... this is about as interesting as they get, but not more or less compelling"

It's really bad writing; this probably could have been half an hour long but he was too preoccupied with word salad.

I was so stoked to play a shooter game set in North America. It was such a great theme that I overcame my small objections and annoyances and really ended up loving it! Plus I think the follower system is great, I love fighting with a Mountain Lion.

maybe it's just my monkey brain not being able to concentrate for more than 10 seconds at a time or the fact that I'm not a native English speaker, but god damn is this video's script poorly written, I can't tell what he's trying to say half of the time, and that for sure wasn't the case with his earlier videos

EDUT: after rewatching the video I take that back lol

My biggest problem with this game besides the kidnapping shit is how redundant half the weapons are. 50% of them are reskins of the other 50%, meaning there's no point in ever using most weapons ever again, unless you like the aesthetic better. Overall the game has a very, very small arsenal.

I thought the story was awful despite the intriguing set up. I enjoyed the gameplay though and had fun with it for sure.
