hey how's it going guys it's Nate here and as we emerge from that Oso mal functional volt 111 and enter the world of fallout 4 we'll find a land riddled with danger at every corner thankfully while this brave new Commonwealth may expose players to a number of things that want to murder us to death the game also affords we former both Weller's with the opportunity to suit up in a nearly endless selection of apparel options and armors in order to better protect ourselves from all these new challenges from dinky unhelpful rags to multi-ton pre-war steel suits designed to handle a nuclear blast you won't run out of options anytime soon and many of the clothing types made available in fallout 4 are unique one-of-a-kind items with special characteristics and traits that make them especially interesting to learn about so that's our resolve today sit back and relax as we dive into five rare and unique armors you may have missed in fallout 4 starting off we have the freefall legs so if you were active in the fallout 4 community when the game first launched there's a good chance you heard about these because as soon as they were discovered YouTube was all over that but nonetheless this will probably be the first time they've been mentioned on the site in like a year anyway the freefall legs are two pieces of leg armor which can be found within the mass fusion building in downtown Boston now the thing about the freefall legs that makes them so significant is that the specific portion of the mass fusion building that they're in is totally inaccessible without the use of a set of power armor enhanced with the jetpack modification or through glitching they're located within a safe in the room you're seeing me attempt to access on screen now in the building's interior and honestly it may take a second try or in my case - in order to make the journey but once you're in you'll stand before it's safe and a nearby terminal which can be activated to unlock the box and inside the freefall legs will be all yours for the taking well the abnormal methods we have to go through in order to access these items are cool the other thing that makes these entire options so special are their unique legendary effects or effect that allows the armors wearer to completely ignore any and all fall damage they may accrue when the legs are worn meaning you can just jump from the highest ledges in the game without any consequence do keep in mind though the legging armor is actually two pieces one for your right leg and another piece for your left both will need to be equipped in order for the effect to actually work so you know just bear that in mind before you do anything too crazy it's worth pointing out that the terminal we use to unlock the safe where these items are being stored also contains a bit of information about their backstory apparently they were designed before the grave war by a mass fusion intern by the name of Jack Rockford he was inspired by the government's power armors ability to absorb the force of Falls and was able to replicate that effect thanks to some complex kinetic repulsion technology unfortunately before the poor in turn could present the masterpiece before his superiors the bombs fell now two centuries later it's up to us to ensure his work wasn't done in vain next on our list we have what is very likely the most difficult item or items I suppose again to acquire on this list but nonetheless your efforts will be rewarded the apocalypse chest piece and Greaves these are two pieces which together make up the full set and getting each of them can't be quite a pain and will require not only a good bit of settlement building skills but also some luck you see to get the chest piece you'll first have to meet a character named the scribe in a random encounter mind you random encounter ie it's impossible to guarantee that he'll ever spawn in your best bet is just quick safety near a random encounter hotspot and reloading repeatedly until hopefully Adam lends you his favor but once the scribe does finally spawn in speak to him and he'll explain to the vault dweller that he was once a proud Brotherhood of Steel scribe serving elder lions all the way back in the capital wasteland but since Lyons's death following the events of fallout 3 and his replacement by Elder Maxon this scribes grown disillusioned with the faction and abandoned it now he spends his days just wandering the world's wastes searching for a purpose if you have a high enough speech skill and are running at least one settlement with a minimum population cap of 10 you can convince him to follow your lead and join your cause to build a better world if he agrees he'll join whatever settlement you send him to and become available as a merchant put him at any level for armour emporium and he'll be able to sell you with the unique and extremely rare apocalypse armor chest piece now for the grease or grieve there's really just one it's a bit easier to acquire and you won't need to rely on luck simply head on over to the hotel Rexford and good neighbor convince the Gullah fied x volt tech rep who got you into volt 111 in the first place to join a settlement of yours and appoint him to a level 4 general goods stole as a merchant from there you'll be able to purchase the apocalypse left grieve from him completing your set well this that's not really complete per se but this is all of the apocalypse armor in the game anyway time for break down their appearance uses the same model as combat armor but with a custom almost chromatic texture that looks really cool they sport about two and a half times the resistance as their generic combat armor counterparts making them a rather viable option for battle but what's more interesting is their special enchantments the chest piece has an effect called martyr which causes the wearer to experience a temporary slowdown in time when your health drops below 20% its normal value the left grieve has the bolster effect which increases its damage and energy resistance the less help you have up to an extra 35 points of each so both of these pieces more effective as you grow weaker and weaker from battle quite something between that fact and their cool aesthetic I definitely recommend trying to add these objects to your collection if you've got the time end luck that is coming in at number three let's head on over to the human hold that is far harbors Island the far harbour DLC introduced a number of new apparel items to the fallout 4 ecosystem tailor-made to health one survive the unique conditions this Isle presents from radiation responsive robes that better help you deal with the gamma weapons to incredibly bulky pieces of pre-war military armor that'll shield you from just about any ballistic this DLC has it all but perhaps the expansion's most memorable new set of attire wasn't even designed to help one against any living foes at all but instead protect you from good ol h2o and look pretty great while doing so if I do say so myself the Rescue Diver suit is well exactly what it looks and sounds like a diver suit that can be earned from captain Avery after completing the Far Harbor faction quest changing tide which sees the player assist the citizens of the town and beginning to push back the fog and helping out in some more minor miscellaneous tasks I think this new gear speaks or I guess shows for itself it looks pretty dang amazing boasting an awesome custom model and texture clearly meant to resemble the early 19th century brand of diving equipment used from a stats perspective she's got a bit less to gawk about providing only ten ballistics and energy damage resistance but sporting a pretty strong 250 points of RAD resistance the defining characteristic of this getup though is its legendary effect which allows players to breathe underwater for as long as you please and I'll be honest well at first it didn't seem like much this really does have some utility normally in Fallout 4 if the sole survivor wants to spend an extended amount of time underwater you're going to need to depend on a power armor suit which moves absurdly slow and as a terrible tendency to get stuck as you slowly crawl about the water with this that's not an issue you'll move around just as agilely as ever and it can really help out when you're scouring the sea for artifacts and lost treasures honestly this is probably among my favourite armors in any Fallout game and definitely fallout 4 no it's not going to carry you through combat but that doesn't stop it from being well breathtaking for 4th spot before we forget about water breathing let's head on over to what is perhaps the happiest place in the wasteland at least if your Raider that is new Coe world don't worry though water breathing stuff is gonna make sense in a second here I promise within the Nuka galaxy ride in the Galactic zone region of the amusement park towards the end of the attraction on an exit platform it's possible to loot the unique Nuka girl rocket suit off of a mannequin sitting proudly on a rocket and man oh man is this not an interesting option for a peril not only does it have an obviously one-of-a-kind dare I say a stellar appearance that admittedly doesn't seem very fitted for space but it also comes with a couple of special enchantments that only make this suit even more of a blast pun intended to use it increases the player's charisma by one likely a nod to the outfit sort of seductive appearance but it also allows you to breathe underwater similar to the divers suit probably as a result of that giant bowl you're wearing on your head which is pretty hilarious well obviously a novel set of attire it's actual practicality is well surprisingly okay-ish at least when you consider the way it looks it has abysmal ballistic damage protection only offering five points of it however does boast 45 and 35 points of energy and radiation damage resistance respectively which is quite a bit above average so if you're say storming the Institute this isn't a terrible option with all the lasers that are gonna be going off in your direction but if you're instead going against some typical super mutants or lightly armed Raiders it certainly is bad overall I think this suit deserves a commanding spot in any collector's inventory or player home but maybe not so much of a commanding spot on the battlefield and finally last on our list we have another sort of two-for-one the DB tech varsity uniform and the mascot head both can be found in the ruins of the DB Technical High School in South Boston we'll start with the varsity uniform it can be found on top of some lockers on one of the higher floors of the building its appearance is pretty much a typical undershirt and jeans but with the unique varsity letterman jacket above it its resistances are as you might imagine for some pre-war civilian clothes pretty mediocre offering only one point of ballistic damage resistance and zero energy or rad resistance it's not the best though what's kind of funny is that when worn the player will have their luck special stat increased by two it's hard not to notice well but Bezdek was doing there now the mascot head is gonna require a bit more work specifically a lot of combat it'll be worn by a special Raider named Bosco who functions as a boss of sort he could be found on a makeshift throne sitting near the pools in the school's basement boss goes completely nuts as we'll go over in a second but once he's defeated the mask ahead can be looted and it too is nothing special from the stats end offering just two damage resistance and literally nothing else no special effects even though its appearance is pretty cool according to some of Bosco's diary entries which we can find in a nearby terminal Bosco was once a seemingly normal and competent leader or at least as normal as you can be in a Raider in post-war America but still he had a good head on his shoulders however he was bit by a rabid dog and seems to have contracted some sort of disease possibly a mutated strain of rabies this led him to slowly develop a terrible case of paranoia and overall just lose his mind and common sense ordering his own men to be put to death for no good reason and ultimately one day while ruffling around the ruins of the high school stumbling upon its old mascot and he knew it was calling to him he had to become one with the bear a pretty disturbing tale no matter the mascots head will look just as great on you as it did on him oh it's also worth pointing out that DB Tech is a school in the real world or at least it once was it since closed down but it's a nod to the Dan Bosco Technical High School in real-world Boston it closed its doors all the way back in 1998 but when they were open their mascot was the Bears not much more to say though I do think that's a fun fact to end on so with those final words of trivia we are going to wrap up my top five rare and unique armors you may have missed in fallout 4 thanks for stopping by everybody I did a similar one of these videos just looking at weapons instead about a week or so ago and you guys really seemed to like it so hopefully this one lives up to that previously established standard assuming that it did
