not in the future oh none to contest oh hallelujah oh bless god no equal no rival we worship you this morning oh bless the name of the lord hallelujah even the very heavens tell this the psalmist tells us that the heaven declares your glory this morning and the firm a man show at your handiwork they tell of this by uttering speech and the day and night they utter knowledge and we are just basking we're just coming this morning to join with the elements to join with springtime and the harvest to join with summer and winter to join with the seasons day and night in manifold witness of your great faithfulness oh hallelujah your mercies and love your love which is steadfast your mercies which are even you and your grace which is sufficient what an awesome god you are at the same time we are privileged those sinful creatures oh hallelujah frail as dust and feeble and frail we can come into your presence this morning hallelujah your word tells us that we can come boldly before the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help and so we come boldly this morning hallelujah i am privileged lord to come into your presence this morning on behalf of this august gathering of your people oh those in this space real space and those in a virtual space and we're so happy lord god that this is nothing new to you you have existed before time hallelujah both spaces are something that you're able to manipulate before the mountains were brought forth and so all we are doing today is just placing our program into your hands we're just giving you the the the latitude to do that which you want to do for the next couple of minutes that we will be gathered here but even as we come boldly we also come humbly this morning hallelujah we compenated recognizing that had it hadn't been for your mercies we would have been consumed oh hallelujah we have learned of the passing of many of our loved ones since the last time we met as a gathering like this many have passed and gone some one says in the chilling arms of death but we're here oh hallelujah we're still on this side even this morning we heard of the sad news of one of our members from this church that was consumed by fire oh hallelujah hallelujah and our heart pains and even as we reflect on the immediate circumstances of the time and the distress and the pain and the sorrow and the untold grief that this kovid 19 pandemic has wrought oh it has caused so much changes so much disturbance is so much unjust adjustment so much calculations but we're happy that we can eke out a time that is a church the new testament church of god in jamaica that we can come to listen to what you have to say to us as we journey into the future oh god oh we need your divine presence in this house this morning how we need you to speak to us oh we need you to show up oh hallelujah and even though i recognize your presence because you're in our midst to bless and to do good and we say welcome holy spirit you are in our presence touch us with your power hallelujah bring renewal you bring hope oh hallelujah bring reassurance we come and we submit this program to you hallelujah we're asking for your tiki on every item that everything that will be said here and everything that will be done will be said and done to your honor and to your glory we are prepared to delete that which must be deleted and erase that which must be erased because we only want that which you have sanctioned to take place in this hour in the name of jesus christ and so if there is none of us that's fitting we consecrate ourselves even though that you will wash us hallelujah change your hearts and make us able to come boldly before your throne today that none of us will miss entering behind the veil where none of us will miss the the shakkaina presence of god in this house today that none of us will escape the rapturing oh of your holy spirit in this house oh hallelujah and so we ask that all the gifts and talents that have been prepared for this morning's exercise we submit them to you and we ask for your unction in the name of jesus we pray and particularly for our administrative bishop today oh god we thank you for how he has led this church for a number of years as administrative bishop oh thank you lord and we have come to this juncture in our denomination where you have provided him a word oh god for the time oh we are cops are turned up waiting but unless you bless him unless you grant him an unction today then all our coming here will just be mere formality and so in the name of jesus christ of nazareth i pray that you will breathe from his lips your divine word in the name of jesus that as his utterance utterances move from this space into virtual space oh there will be a mighty move of your holy spirit in whatever space your people are congregated whether in homes or churches across this island and the world hallelujah that lord today will be the beginning of a revival in the name of jesus i pray that there will be an impartation today in a deposition into the life of every minister that listens every congregation every member in the name of jesus christ of nazareth you have taken us across some red seas issue during his journey you have guided us on eagle's wings throughout this adjourned hallelujah we have had some bitter experiences oh but you provided elim for us oh we have had scarcity but you have provided manner for us you have guided us oh hallelujah through the hot times with a ball of cloud and you have provided us direction through pillars of fire and we are not our kadish barna will you speak to us today god hallelujah speak to us in ways that you have never spoken before and may the words and everything that will be uttered in this house today oh be like it has never been uttered before oh bless the name of the lord we submit everything to you we submit to a body our mind and our spirit and everything that will take place here and we ask all of these through your son jesus christ who taught us to pray when he said our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for yours is a kingdom yours the scripture this morning [Music] he's taken from saint matthew chapter 16 verse 13 to 19. let me repeat matthew chapter 16 verse 13 to 19. please listen as i read when jesus came into the coasts of caesarea philippi he asked his disciples saying whom do men say that the son of man am and they said some say that thou art john the baptist some say elias and others jeremiah are one of the other prophets he said unto them but whom say he that i am and simon peter answered and said thou art the christ the son of the living god and jesus answered and said unto him blessed art thou simon barjona for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my father which is in heaven and i say also unto thee thou art peter and upon this rock i will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it and i will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven this is the word of the lord we honor by saying glory be to the father the son and the holy ghost as it was in the beginning and is now and forever shall be world without end and we say amen appreciate the praise team for that wonderful job because what we are doing today is just to give the wind a mighty voice so we are sending praises to almighty god as we come to you live from this location and as as we recognize my brothers and sisters that we have all representatives here from all over the island and they have been traveling from early this morning to be here and so at this time we are pleased to invite the reverend dr clement clark the overseer of the montego bay district of churches to come and to just make us welcome and to present to us the opening declaration the the protocol for the service we are here to worship and honor god but i want to make mention of a few persons at this time i firstly would like to welcome our administrative bishop the reverend doctor double a blair and his lovely wife mrs yvonne blair could you just stand thank you very much we want to we realize that this is the end of an era and the beginning of another and so we want to at this time welcome reverend dr roy notice and his wife and children to this service could you please stand [Music] thank you very much [Music] i know that we have a number of the executive board members here national executive board members could you please stand with your wives at this time please give them a hand my brothers and sisters [Music] thank you so much i want to take the liberty his own director and his wife reverend orville plummer okay and i welcome our national life builders president and his wife mr livington livingston bins my brothers and sisters i want to welcome all our district overseers and ministers i know they make up the primary composition of this crowd but could you just stand and let us see you and district overseers and your spouses on give them a hand there are a number of congregations across this um island who are and across the world who are listen listening to us at this time i want to say welcome to you congregations montego bay welcome sorry i just couldn't resist the temptation welcome god bless you richly my brothers and sisters it is an absolute delight to have you share in our worship experience um for this or national gathering i still call it the convention but since it has been otherwise named i did say that we are here to worship and honor god but in the process also to witness the last aura of a venerable champion that has become a monument not only in the new testament church of god but in the on the ecclesiastical landscape of jamaica our administrative bishop the reverend doctor with leslie alonso glare it is good that you stand and just appreciate the man and his darling wife thank you so much thank you so much he deserves it mr pentecostal mr evangelism mr compassionate whatever you want you see kovid has seen to it that we do not have a national annual national convention but we will not be deprived of a parting word from a champion that has served us so long and so well my brothers and sisters you might have heard me use the expression a few times but um charles purge and say that a man a man's life should not be a writing on the sand but an inscription upon the rock i think bishop dr w blair has truly inscribed his name and the well in the church of god and on the ecclesiastical landscape of jamaica we really want to thank you bishop for long faithful dedicated service and i keep saying that you have become not only a great champion for the church but a true monument god bless you richly we and so we are here expecting a tree and expecting a last word from you so i welcome you all to the end of an era and the genesis of another as we gather together may our worship be pleasing to the almighty god god bless you richly thank you so very much dr clark and of course he has ably stated our purpose of being here and i've given you recognition to our leaders thank you again my brothers and sisters i want to remind us that the new testament church of god is not short of gifted and talented singers and now ladies and gentlemen all across the landscape brothers and sisters coming to us from the maypen new testament church of god is one such person and i speak of no other than sister isabel blagro who will minister to us in song can we put our hands together and make our sister welcome and really receive that blessing from her [Music] you may feel down and feel like god has somehow forgotten that you are faced with the circumstances that you can't get through right now it seems there's no way out and you're going god's under time and time again and take care of you yes ministering on the bus sometimes people right they kill you they say all manner of things but you when you know that you're doing a thing for the lord you make nothing bother you and the lord has been keeping me and he can keep you through the lord will make a way even when you lose your job the bills are due [Applause] you may not know how and your main unknown my god will do it he will do it again [Music] oh what a ministry in song from sister blair grove i i think that we need to just put our hands together and just give her a round of applause and also thank the lord for enabling her to minister to us this morning in such a very powerful way thank you sister isabella keep singing for the lord and now ladies and gentlemen it is time for the word to be delivered to us by our outgoing administrative bishop the reverend dr double a blair i'm sure that our hearts have been watered since we have arrived here and this program has started and of course we are not through as yet because the best is yet to come the word of the lord will be coming to us in a short while and it's coming to us from that man of god that has served this church of god as dr clark has said for many many years and have given sterling contribution selflessly and devotedly to the kingdom of god and so before he comes we're going to be having a wonderful song of the church of god led by the praise team overseer newly elected bishop and doctor both doctors notice amen go ahead no we don't we don't use potter cake clapping around here so if you clap your clap amen i am indeed happy to be in his presence and to be waiting to work with him for the glory of god i thank god for this opportunity and i bless the lord for you both and your family this service has already been in hot gear and noticed the word hot gear the engine has been running and even the gearbox is hot and i thank you mr moderator thank you praise team thank you everyone for the wonderful work you've been doing now there are so many persons around the world watching and listening to us one of those persons is the general overseer of the new testament church of god as we know it here in jamaica and he has given me an order not necessarily a request but he wants me to sing for him i don't know why he would have tested me spoiling the service but he wants me to sing for him oh what a sunrise it's going to be lord on my side i would not be here today but he has kept me he has looked after me the man just keep me looking nice and young and all the energy that i need he gives to me and i give him praise and glory there are folks today as i've said before all over that are looking and watching and listening i think of the saints in cayman today you realize that they were once with us as partners we are i ask for the anointing to be so rich today that heaven will kiss earth and we will be between the kisses sanctify our hearts to the truth and bless us again we pray in jesus name amen in many areas of our lives we have helps sometimes when we need the help we don't get it but i thank god that he's a consistent help especially in the time of trouble today as we celebrate our church's movement what god has done for us over the years we cannot truly repay him but david said the lord is my light and my salvation whom shall i fear the lord is the strength of my life of whom shall i be afraid david was helping us to exalt the name of jesus and in this period of pandemic epidemic what kind of mick we have a god to praise and we do not sit in this congregation today because you have a mask on your face don't be so quiet that the holy spirit will have to leave us for him not believe in lukewarm business i don't think he'll like me too much we read the writings of jesus that as he spoke to his disciples and we go back probably 7 000 years as paul writes to us again from the books of his writings the epistles he wrote one of them in particular thessalonians it was a wonderful writing that he wrote the city of thessalonica had an expansive military highway that not only connected rome with the east but also run through macedonia in the way which was parallel to the sea the city had a sheltered harbor which was made into a naval station which was equipped with docks given its commercial activity many romans and jewish merchants migrated there so did masses of other people some of whom were unskilled untrained and unemployed though the governor mayor member of parliament cabinet ministers all lived in the city they had no real control on authority as it is as a city was led by some rough politicians today we would have called those men guns rulers of the citizens who were the chief magistrates which were appointed annually they performed administrative and executive functions and exercised judicial authority there was a political freedom in the city and folk did whatever they wanted to do with little or no regard for regulations standards and rule of law the city was the melting pot of many cultures in many respects kingston montego bay may penn savannah lamar all sound like thessalonika where legitimate leaders are not in control and men of ill will and ill intention rule streets and communities they decide who live they also decide who die they rub they kidnap they scam the city had a reputation for evil in other respects our churches are like thessalonica seemingly overtaken by a lack of restraint a crave for power a refusal to stand apart and call a spade a spirit i wanting to not do anything to cause the leaders of the land or people will lead to be unhappy with us and so instead of standing for the right and being a gatekeeper for holiness unto the lord we allow ourselves to eat at the king's table we accept their awards and honors we serve on their boards we take their checks and we refuse to be that city up on a hill whose light cannot be hidden we have to be careful how we become attached to people and that we have to obey them and what they said and displease god this is not the duty of the church the duty of the church is to do what god says what he commands the church like thessalonica is a collection of people drawn from different backgrounds some rich some poor some tall some short some white some black some on the green side someone they are inside some from country some from town some of town some downtown some crosstown and some who think the church is too old-fashioned so they have to modernize it some who feel the church will now become modern some who believe in pentecostalism some who don't there are others who believe in a thing that they call charisma are being charismatic but let me say there is a vast difference between charismatic and pentecostalism i you may not like what i'm saying but just to be charismatic all you have is a loud noise you have to be pentecostal to be a part of this great church hallelujah to god the church has a particular pentecostal distinctive it was born in pentecost born in fire therefore it cannot live in smoke there are many who do not know like the fire that they once had they believe that it's time to draw down we don't draw down for we're not driving in a gear car so in a draw down we have to go forward and keep going up is anybody there with me some who feel the church will become modern and soft you have a serious mistake making because this church jesus says the gates of hell shall not prevail against it if somebody with me what god wants us to do is to stop playing church i said it's time to stop playing church and to be straight living for god and do god's will and his business you are not supposed to crave for too many people to be with you you have to preach so you drop off some of the baggage you may not like what i'm saying but too many of us have too many persons with us that should not be with us if we are going to heaven in a pentecostal way oh god help me here somebody says brother blair it's modern time so let us be a little bit more modernistic than what you're going on with oh boy god see me from some licking and he said somebody else will have to go take some it's not easy over here i just imagine what the young man said if you think it's easy come up here it's not easy but we have to go on because we are a part of the pentecostal church and upon this rock i build my church hallelujah and if jesus builds it no man can't shake it down we had a theme that we looked at and it's really something to think about between the church and god's church listen up there's a distinction between the church and god's church the church in some people's mind is the building the physical infrastructure with air conditioning units padded seats stained glass windows huge doors carpeted isles chandeliers suspended from the lofty ceilings others see the church as being new testament apostolic baptist adventist methodist anglican and catholic some people see the church listen this now listen carefully because when you begin to call people's name you're running into trouble and i've run into trouble too many times but listen this some people see the new testament church of god as business church blair's church are even being your church but our theme reminds us that the church is god's church [Applause] i myself have made a mistake many times and many of us have made it by speaking of my church i never died for any church in fact right now jesus doesn't even want my blood to be shed for the church for he shed his are ready for his church and the church is a beautiful place a beautiful lady and the bible tells us that we are royal priesthood holy nation peculiar people chosen generation hallelujah chosen of god and we are to so live that god will be pleased with us it is not an ordinary group but rather it is a fellowship a living organism the word church is translated from the greek term ecclesia and is used to identify the community of believers in jesus christ it literally means day of assembly the lord's congregation are meeting before the lord the power of god is so scarce in our churches today that people have even stopped coming like they should so the scarcity of crowds now is not too strange to many of us because the crowd was curious already the power of god is so scarce in the church people have stopped coming like they used to so we have to devise a means to get people to come to church you don't hear me we have watered down our standards so badly in order to get people to come into church one of the things that many of you are going to be upset with me right now because we look in our congregations and we don't see the people that we should have seen so we adopt this style can i say it all right let me hold a liquor because i don't want you to hit me yet i went to a country i won't say which country to preach in their convention and on the tuesday the overseer drove me out for lunch and he said bishop blair well they call your bishop they call your brother they call you decide you need to no i didn't tell you that tonight is dressed all night and so you don't have to come dressed up just dress down i said well i think we finish right here because i don't just don't go to church let me dress up i'll go to church i'm sorry to have gone against some of you precious hearts but when i go to the house of god i go to the house of god like a king [Applause] do you hear what i'm saying may not dress down for when i go into his presence i go into the presence of the king of kings and the lord of lords and even if i were going in he'll see lassie's presence i wouldn't judge them i know some of you are upset already how many of you start yet when you go to the house of god go like god's representative ah jesus help me lord we disrespect the house of god when we go in there looking like some drunk hillybilly you may not recognize immediately the word hillybilly but it will be good for you to look it up john declared but as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of god even to them that believe on his name jesus said to peter and sent matthew 16-18 and on this rock i will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it i will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven whatsoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven whatsoever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven he said to the 70 elders in luke 10 19 behold i give unto you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you church of god you have power in god [Music] jesus said i give you the keys to the kingdom you have keys to open and to lock up oh can i just talk a little bit here you have been given the keys reverence preachers sisters and brothers you have been given the keys to the kingdom use them you and i have the power of god in us to lose to bind and to set free too many of our people are living in bondage bound and i could hear jesus as he said to the people about lazarus lose him and let him go a lot of us need to be loosed oh my god you know it's a good thing you have on your mask else i would say a bad man you have why you don't want one say here man but it doesn't bother me [Applause] hallelujah we have been defeated too long and been on the defeated line too long because we have refused to use our keys [Music] you know i'll never forget especially going into clarendon to worship in the long ago years when the preacher preaching and you find a sister a brother a sister over there another one here lose him jesus you never had that [Music] lose him lord you find another one get up cut and clear we are thinking we have to get some of that again caught unclear hallelujah to jesus i give you the keys to the kingdom you got to open some doors for people who have been bound loose them and let them go in let the power of god reign in our midst oh hallelujah to god i love the word of god i love it i love it i love it and let me hurry again because i know i'm gonna get some leakings later the church is a center of worship to god worship is not about entertaining christians with flashy displays or presentation the church is not a theater [Music] it is it is it is a place of worship lord i feel some heaviness ronnie [Music] it is not a dance hall where we only come to dance that's what some people come to church for they're gonna go get a little piece of dance [Music] put up your foolishness and when the holy spirit of god get a hold of your legs and you start to dance people will even get saved through your spiritual dancing you don't like me but please be patient with me for god ain't through with me yet it's a place of worship about expressing our love for him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light the assembly comes together to praise and glorify god for god is a spirit they who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth he didn't say i must be spirited you worship in spirit you don't have to be spirited [Music] but god knows who you are and he knows you we're talking about the church is a center of worship the church is a center of edification to the believer edification is about mature nurturing building up or helping believers to mature in christ the assembly is tasked with a variety of ministries such as the study of scripture fasting and prayer meeting the needs of the body not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the day approaching we move on the church is a center of evangelism to the unsafe evangelism about reaching out to a lost world with the good news that jesus saves you have heard a joyful sound jesus says jesus says shout it all around up up the hill down the hill round the hill shout it out jesus says have you ever stopped one time to wonder why more people are not being saved today have you ever stopped to wonder why more people are not being filled with the holy ghost why more people are not being healed from their sicknesses and diseases the word of god is scarce and i go back to something i said earlier we are not pentecostal no we are more [Music] what's the word i just use for that charismatic charismatic person when you hear them preach or talk they sound totally different from pentecostals in fact in most cases they are lower than the pentecostals but it's empty barrier i said in most cases the charismatic ah the charismatics are much louder than the pentecostals but they are empty there's nothing to feel when they speak the word of god is so strong and powerful that when a pentecostal person speaks it's going to cause problems [Music] the assembly of god is mandated to go therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost pauline exhorting the church at thessalonica gives three lessons that i think are instructive if god's church is to face the future with hope and courage [Music] she must be engaged you didn't hear me first thessalonians 1 from verses 2 to 6 god's church must remember that for by grace you are saved through faith that not of yourselves it is the gift of god not of works lest any man should boast we must give thanks unto the lord that while we were yet sinners christ died for us we must remember where we are coming from and where we could have been we must remember come on church lord remember i'm human and humans sometimes forget so remind me remind me dear lord you and i need to get back on our knees in fasting and prayer and ask god to remind us where it took us from there are many of us and part of my expression just go about popping off style and god many of us are acting as if we're better than god but as you journey through this land the writer said singing as i go pointing souls to calvary through the crimson floor many arrows pierce my soul from without within i but my lord goes ahead through him i must be remember where you're coming from think of what god has done for you think of the beautiful place he has placed you in a place called the body of believers we have nothing to boast about but salvation are you still here we have nothing to post about but salvation so stop your foolishness and somebody said where am i going with now nothing yet remember where you're coming from remember how god's been good to you had it not been for the lord on our side where would we be when we meet in our assemblies across the length and breadth of this country we need to be a people of real energy who are willing to engage in real worship we must think about the goodness of the lord look at where he has brought us from we are the largest pentecostal assembly in the country if it had not been for the lord and our side where would we be we were once a people about whom was little known now god has blessed us tremendously we occupy seeds of great influence and yet when we meet hello the focus is sometimes and who is the smartest who is the most learned who is the brightest amongst us where we live who we know we are called to be engaged in the decisions about who sits in parliament what laws are passed if our institutions of state are being unjust what acts of corruption exist the church must have a voice in the nation the church must share the nation with prayer fasting and pentecostal worship your journey stop a while in some of the places that need to be shaken we're not gonna shake it with beautiful words with words that you and i can't even call that when people hear in the service they have to go to a dictionary to look up the meaning that that is not preaching that is not good preaching preaching is preaching the word so simple that the child can understand it the university professor can understand and appreciate what you're saying some of us are just a little bit too big for god all right you see when you're vex i preach better so let me say something more making vex more i said some of us are just too big too intelligent for god we have been educated beyond our intelligence so we can't worship like we should oh god almighty some of us need to come in the house of god take off your brightness take off your niceness and worship it doesn't matter where god wants you to go worship there are some of us who skimmed our faces up when we come into church and see some people worshiping you don't know what that sister or that brother has been through [Music] they have a right to glorify god leave them they have something to praise god for you have nothing [Music] lord have mercy oh that men would praise the lord for his god and his mercy endure it forever hallelujah glory to the love of god glory glory glory when we come into the house of god when we come and sit together to talk things over is god present in your presence when we go and come into the pulpit we must make gun men perverse men corrupt men they must tremble before god you don't hear me somebody and god's church must be engaged we must go to king's house we must go to garden house he must go to jamaica house we must go to the poor house for once we were poor and destitute lost and undone but thanks be to the almighty god we are now saved hallelujah don't worship god like you're afraid be bold be strong for the lord thy god is with me we are not afraid we are not ashamed paul said i'm not ashamed of the gospel of christ for it is the dynamos of god and to salvation we are the salt of the earth but the salt has lost its savor where which shall it be salted it is dense for good for nothing but to be cast out and to be trotted under the foot of men secondly we must be exemplars first thessalonians 179 god's church is called to be examples of word conversation charity faith impurity come out from among them and be separate says the lord be holy for i am holy love not the world neither the things that are in the world if any man loves the world the love of the father is not in him for all that is in the world the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the father but is of the world and the world pass it away and they lost there up but he that do it the will of god abide it forever this is a part of the gospel that many modern church of god christians don't like but the bible said love not the world these are the things that are in the world as god's people we are called to dress modestly here are no trouble to have our conversations seasoned with grace to think and whatsoever things are true whatsoever things are pure whatsoever things are noble whatsoever things are just whatsoever things are lovely whatsoever things are of good report whatever things have virtue and our praise worthy think on these things are you still there we must remember this that god's people must be honest ethical in our dealings we must give unto caesar what is for caesar we must give to god that which is his we must obey those who are over us we must walk humbly before god and all men we must study to show ourselves approved unto god as a workman that needed not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth we must not depart from the faith and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils the church of god still believes in the tenets of faith hello repentance justification regeneration the new birth sanctification subsequent to justification and holiness the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman that's where marriage lies in your journey you're gonna come across some people who think otherwise and they have alternative lifestyle but it's one degree lifestyle jesus believes in and he preaches it oh god the people gone from it we believe in the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman we believe in water baptism we believe in the baptism of the holy ghost subsequent to cleansing as a spirit gives utterance we speak in other tongues i i guess somebody's wondering why you have to preach those we say that every sunday but i don't see you every sunday some of you so full of now you don't believe in these again we believe in spiritual gifts and signs following believers we don't believe in believers following signs we believe in the fruit of the spirit divine healing provided for all in the atonement the lord's supper and washing the sins feet tithing and giving restitution where possible premaneral second coming of jesus first to resurrect the dead saints and to catch away the living saints to him in the air eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked we still believe it let me say here that these terms and these tenants of the faith are still relevant today these are the pillars upon which the new testament church of god is built don't play around it don't cut it or trim it let it stay right there we must be blameless husband of one wife vigilant sober have good behavior given to hospitality up to teach not given to wine no striker not greedy or filthy looker i said the other day at the church i was preaching and even now somebody still vexed me for it there was a time when many of us preach us with liquor pentecostalism in us we always go on but on the pulpit and we preach against the people who talk too much to women and say they're gonna backslide and sin yes and it's still happening but do you know that one of the most gravious sins committing today is a sin of filthy looking money has become many of us gods lord jesus help me today help me many money has become our god but the bible said the love of money never said money but the love of money is the root of all evil somebody help me no man you know i almost forgot that i'm on time so let me let me just hurry or wind up i have a few more things god's church must live in expectancy so we talk about three different things here let me see if i can go over them for you we talked about exemplary life engaged now we live in expectancy god's church must live in expectancy that christ will return for her the signs of his second coming are clear the rise of false prophets and false teachers are you still there traditional morals becoming less accepted traditional morals are not so much more accepted in the church anymore that's not flashy enough false prophets [Music] false prophets and prophetess p-r-o-f-i-t-s you didn't get me you know that's what a lot of us believe in now o f i t s prophets that's not the prophet that god wants the prophet who can stand on zion's wall the prophet who could stand out there in half a tree and said wow to the bloody city god is looking for more prophets people that will listen to him is not prophets and prophetess if not something manufactured by other people so-called prophets god called on our danish prophets oh jesus the signs of the times are everywhere [Music] the number of persons losing their faith earthquakes and other natural disasters wars and conflicts famines anti-semitism the establishment of the u.s embassy in jerusalem the fact that most of the preparations for the building of the third temple to be built in jerusalem are already completed we are closer than you think we are closer than we have ever thought of all right let me close it brother don't i'm gonna get some chastisement let me let me close it what we are traveling in a land of sorrow while moses was on his way from egypt to the promised land the songwriter said moses led god's children [Music] 40 years he led them through the day god of our fathers is with us and he said i'll never leave you nor forsake you remember that god loves you forgive me for going over time i thought i was in a regular service and i just begin to feel good but i know signals i know signals so i quit with canaan's land there we are gonna go forward in faith in a few moments we are gonna be praying for some saints so some people both here and there but as i promised in the beginning i'm gonna sing a song for sister blue and i you hear it because you hear it but if you're not blessed maybe it's not for you but if too many miles behind me too many his heart he has spoken to us like a father and i'm confident that we have received that word and we will ensure that these words remain with us you know the last words of anyone to an individual is always so very important and we have a way of remembering and so let us remember that which our administrative bishop has shared with us as he takes his exit from the leadership of the new testament church of god which comes to an end on the 31st of august 2020. and so now ladies and gentlemen we have been listening keenly and we have heard from our administrative bishop and we keep referring to him as our outgoing administrative bishop soon and very soon on the 1st of september to be exact we will be receiving our new administrative bishop and his team and i speak of the reverend dr roy notice and just before i invite himself and his team to the altar we're going to just as it were give you a sneak preview as to what will happen in the life of our outgoing administrative bishop and his dear wife i am saying to you at this point in time that this is not the final farewell but at the time to be announced you will be invited to share with the entire denomination as we have that most appropriate service or series of activities to just usher our bishop and his dear wife um out of tenure from the office that they have been serving and so at this time i think it's quite fitting that we show just a sneak preview and we are going to be inviting dr mitchell shaw the wife of reverend shaw the host pastor of the church and district overseer to come at this time as she will be making a presentation to mrs blair and i am inviting the reverend donovan knight a member of the national executive council immediately after dr shaw is through with mrs blair that reverend knight will be making a presentation to our outgoing bishop the reverend dr doubly blair thank you so much reverend reed the awesome privilege is mine today to make a presentation to lady blair on behalf of the administration and members and adherents of the new testament church of god here in jamaica bless the lord i am so happy for this privilege and sister blair i would just want to say to you that you have given selflessly over these 50 years of 50 odd years of service to the new testament church of god you have served as our women's minister's president in particular for these last 14 years with dignity no wonder we consider you to be queen so dignity in how you carry yourself your attire dignity in how you speak your accent dignity in your attitude sister blair we all look to you both young and not so young and we consider you not only to be a woman of dignity but also a woman of devotion so we see you as our mother we would say then that you are our queen mother and we bless you the proverb says that who can find a virtuous woman we would all agree that you are that virtuous woman it also says that your children will rise and they will call you blessed so i know a lot of persons here are very envious of me today that i am the one that has risen but they are all going to get a chance now to rise they're all going to rise as your children and they're going to be in rising saying that you are indeed blessed your children look at all of them hallelujah and i am also sure that in the virtual space your children have arisen all across the globe and are saying that you are indeed a blessed woman of god hallelujah may god continue to bless and keep you sister blair this is just a little token of our love and appreciation that is being given to you now and as turbulent moments but like a skillful pilot sir you've navigated us with your effective compass a spiritual one that is and you have landed us safely in the arms of christ bishop we want to say thanks we love your dearly the new testament church of god the many who are here today the thousands in jamaica and many thousands more in the diaspora we hail you as a mighty man of valor you've brought us out of our egypt carried us through the wilderness and today we thank you sir you have pulled our church back from the precipice of moral financial and spiritual precipice so you have pulled us back and today we thank you and this is only a foretaste of what is to come we love your bishop blair ask the church to stand with me please and put your hands together for our general our moses our captain bishop dr w.a blair god bless you [Music] thank you so very much dr shaw and reverend knight for making those presentations and ladies and gentlemen like i've said before this is just a foretaste it's just to wait your appetite but you will be informed when we will be gathering again for a real wonderful appropriate session where we will be honoring our outgoing administrators i'd also like to say to us that we if you look carefully at your program it has a very captivating and appropriate title it says national gathering facing the future with confidence and courage and so as we approach the end of the tenure of the reverend dr double a blair and mrs blair we are also approaching the genesis of two of god's choice servants that will be taking the ship to the next port and we are speaking specifically of the reverend doctor roy l notice and his dear wife dr vinet notice i'm going to ask them both to stand at this time and i'm going to ask them to turn around to the congregation and we are going to put our hands together for them in a very very special way these two persons praise god will be taking us to the next port and sir madame i'm going to ask you now to lead that team that will be working with you at the national office so as you come to the altar i will be inviting these other persons to join you the reverend orville plummer who will be serving as you're going to baptize this man with wisdom knowledge and understanding and there'll be nothing too hard for you to do i ask you for a very special touch in his life his wife and his daughters we may just want to get back into another phase of worship and that's where we are going now because it's time to worship the lord with our giving and let me say to you that you can't leave because the administrative bishop has made arrangements for every individual here today to be adequately fed before you leave and it gets a little better if i tell you that it will be free of cost so the church and you will be served there lunches are already pre-packaged and so it will be a smooth flow you collect your lunch and your soup and you keep moving remember if you require drink or water him he has challenged the church to be a church that is engaged a church that is exemplary and a church that is expectant what a word that he has left us with and if we want to be that kind of a church it's going to mean that it calls for leadership and the followership that is agile that is adaptive that is active aware and anointed by the holy spirit and we believe that under god we can face the future with confidence and courage because there is a path that we must travel as we seek to fulfill the kingdom mandate can we say amen bow your heads with me and receive blessings from the lord so may the lord our eternal god bless and keep you may he cause his face to shine upon you may he lift up his countenance unto you and grant you his peace now and forever amen we say amen let's
