13 the bible reads and it shall come to pass when thou shalt show this people all these words and they shall say unto thee wherefore hath the lord pronounced all this great evil against us or what is our iniquity or what is our sin that we have committed against the lord our god then shalt thou say unto them because your fathers have forsaken me saith the lord and have walked after other gods and have served them and have worshiped them and have forsaken me and have not kept my law and ye have done worse than your fathers for behold ye walk every one here's the key after the imagination of his evil heart that they may not hearken unto me therefore will i cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not neither ye nor your fathers and there shall he serve other gods day and night where i will not show you favor now i think that the passage where we're looking at at verse 10 through 13 we're focused on the sins of the children of israel how they forsaken the lord walked after other pagan gods and they did not serve the lord and they've forsaken his laws but there is one note i think that we all overlook and the note that we overlook is the imagination of his evil heart you must understand that the sins we commit would not even happen had we not even start to think about them usually the sins we commit come from the thoughts a lot of times we might be keeping track of ourselves and our sins but we don't keep track of our own thought life you know some of you might be surprised when you go to the judgment seat of christ and the lord might say you committed a whole bunch of sins over here and you might be surprised and say what's the sin that i've committed lord and if you look at verse 10 that's the same question the children of israel asked the lord i mean what sin did we commit why would the lord pronounce all this great evil against us and judge us but then god says at verse 12 it's the imagination i can imagine some of you that if i told one of you i named so-and-so in this room and i said you're a murderer adulterer a hater and uh you forsake the lord you walk after other gods you'd be shocked and you'd be surprised because everybody thought that you're the bible teacher in san jose bible baptist church you would think that you pray you read the bible that you're a great servant for the lord but if i pointed out your thought life that's why you committed these sins and some of you would be in shock i think that we overlook our thought life that's our problem the thought life so today i'm going to preach against your mentality all of you got a mental issue so today's title is everyone has a mental problem let's pray father god all have sinned and come short of the glory of god with our imaginations we have a mental problem heavenly father and i pray that you'll intervene and that jesus christ will get the full glory and that lives will be convicted lives will get changed and that will fix our thought life our heart life it's so easy to look at our outward actions but we don't contemplate and take time to look at our own thoughts in jesus name we pray amen now a lot of the sins that we commit you got to understand the sins that you're struggling with is because of our thoughts so pretty much i'm going to be preaching against all kinds of thoughts and some of them you never even thought before would be wrong thoughts first point is angry thoughts angry thoughts a lot of times we get angry but we don't show it to people we don't say it to people the anger could be inside and we might be thinking bad about some other people in the church it could be the pastor it could be a fellow church member it could be some person who's in charge of a bible study group we get angry thoughts we get thoughts where you don't curse but you know in your thoughts you ever cussed in your mind especially when you're driving oh blank but you can't say it so you just say it in your mind bitterness that's the bad thing a lot of people you know they act loving and kind outside but there is bitterness on the inside and you have bitter thoughts towards somebody and that is not right with the lord isaiah chapter 43 verse 25 it says i even i am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for my own sake and will not remember thy sins i mean that's the passage we're thankful for aren't we are we not so thankful for god to just forget the times that we have greatly heard him that he didn't give us justly that we deserve that he wasn't angry at us would it not be horrible if god were to keep in mind all of the sins that you have greatly angered him with i mean especially the thousandth time when you confess the same sin to him and repented and pleaded the blood and the lord can you imagine the lord going like this all right i'll forgive you because i said that i would and i wash away your sin but man you frustrate the tara i mean man i'm angry with you and i mean you would feel guilty confessing your sin to him you'd feel horrible but god promised that it's under the blood and that he'll cover all your iniquities and when he forgives you he truly forgives you thank god that he's not angry at us you don't want god to remember your sins do you do you really want god to remember the filth that you committed the stupid mistakes that you've done things that you're so embarrassed about but you're just so fleshly so stubborn and so wicked and then finally years later then you realize oh man i was a stupid teenager back then some grown adults act like stupid teenagers too and they regret about the decision and the mistakes that they made years ago would you like god to bring that up again would you like god for to remember them then if you don't want god to do that why can't you do that with other people with other people where you get angry where you have a cursing mindset or you get bitter all this stuff comes from anger but you got to realize that god does not remember about the things that you committed against him and likewise we should take the same aspect and get rid of these thoughts where we're angry against somebody where there's so much anger that we even curse accidentally and there's a bitterness stirring up thank god that he's not like you my the friend but let me tell you something if you keep that up maybe the lord might do the same with you if you're not careful my second point is abstract thoughts abstracted thoughts and what i mean by abstracted that word abstracted the idea is is that it's going through deviating from what is norm it's going to something that is strange it's going through something that is abstract sometimes a lot of times we don't realize this but our imaginations we deem them to be so innocent that there are times when you're supposed to be paying attention to the sermon right now you're distracted that's an abstracted thought it's deviating from what is normal you get distracted you're not paying attention sometimes when people are talking to you you've got to pay attention to what they're saying it's very rude that you get distracted you don't pay attention sometimes when you're good at talking the only reason why you're good at talking is probably because you're not good at listening and then that daydreaming stuff really yeah really i mean that day dreaming stuff you got to watch out for that it's all that strange abstract thoughts deviating from what is normal i mean that mind's got to be meditating on the lord should it not what can i do it for you lord it's got to be something clean and holy especially television television nowadays where it's now onto your uh internet and even in your cell phone once you watch that thing all the stuff fill out your mind and you even dream that kind of stuff now it's become a part of you and you got to realize that is sin that is wickedness proverbs chapter 21 verse 27 it says the sacrifice of the wicked is abomination how much more when he bringeth it with a wicked mind you got to realize that god he hates the sacrifice of the wicked lord this is for you and god says no that's abomination but he can deems it even more when there's a wicked mind the problem with abstracted thoughts the bible talks about vain imaginations see something that is vain something that's not worth it the thing with vain imaginations is that it leads obviously to something that is wicked something that is worldly something that is not right with god and that is wickedness in the eyes of god now the thing is i mean if you think that uh i'm just being crazy then if you're that type of mind that always gets distracted daydreaming and then watching a whole bunch of stuff did you ever notice that you don't really pay attention to the preaching recently or the teaching of the word of god or when people are talking to you your mind just deviates and gets out there did you notice that when you're sleeping you're always constantly dreaming some kind of stuff and you go where did that come from what do you mean where it came from it came from what you saw earlier what you thought earlier what you pondered in your heart earlier sometimes you don't deliberately mean to think the thought but it'll come out in your dream it'll come out in the middle of the day while you're conscious and you go where that come from and why stuff that you saw stuff that you pondered in your heart before and it doesn't matter if you sacrifice for the lord coming to church today reading the bible praying it's an abomination to god when you bring a wicked mind with your sacrifice that's why some of you feel guilty when you're praying and when you're praying some kind of wrong thought comes out in you where'd that come from when you're doing your sacrifice for the lord that's the danger of abstracted thoughts is that just comes out of nowhere now some of you might know that god considers human sacrifice to be an abomination right so obviously god hates human sacrifice people where they delivered up fellow humans as a sacrifice and god considers it as an abomination i don't know if you know about passages in the bible where he talked about homosexuality he called it an abomination bestiality something perverted and wrong god calls an abomination you know what god calls a wicked mind abomination some of you are not sodomites i pray not i don't want one here but if you're some of you may not be sodomites but if you're having a uh if you have a wicked mind what god says same thing as sodomite abomination it's wickedness we don't take uh we take that for granted that's why you got to be careful you know you better if you don't put filters if you're not careful especially parents with what your kids watch you're responsible for giving them a wicked mind parents you got to watch out for that kind of stuff god calls it an abomination got to watch out for these abstracted thoughts my third point is avaricious socks avaricious thoughts the idea is is that with these avaricious thoughts there can be some sort of ill will toward a person so an example is a depression that you go through but this depression comes out through consciousness toward other people you look at other christians and how they seem to be better and then because of that you get more depressed with your own life you look at some people out there lost sinners who seem to fear it better than you who's chase after war after the world and they seem to be more happy than you so then you get depressed in your own christian walk because why you covet what they have that you don't have that's an avaricious thought some of you get envious toward people and it becomes even anger it's itself it becomes avaricious it becomes ill will why because this person in the church is not doing right for the lord but pastor and some people in the church think that this brother and sister in christ is such a great christian and they didn't even stop and shake my hand and said hi to me you know that that becomes very dangerous that's an avaricious thought it becomes envious towards somebody and then you have an anger that comes out the bible says at first timothy chapter 6 verse 10 for the love of money is the root of all evil which while some coveted after they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows many sorrows you know god says here that covetousness comes from something that you love you might say well i can't help it pastor i have avaricious thoughts towards somebody and you might call it uh envy out of anger depression out of convectiousness the pastor i can't help it you know what your core problem is you might say what is it pastor that convictiousness that envy stems from something that you love so then because basically you love what the wicked people have more than god that's why consciousness was born envy was more you get that that's your problem your problem is oh no they have it better than me no you just love the world more than god that's why if you love god more than the world then you would actually even bid the best for the lost sinner to have more of the world because that's their best joy and happiness that's sad isn't it that's sad in it isn't it let them have more fame more power more riches more possessions more money than you because it's all going to burn up at the end and those souls will die and burn in hell for all eternity not worth it not worth it even a saved believer who's backslidden not right with the lord and they seem to have it better than you you love what they've got more than the lord that's your problem that's why avaricious thoughts result and come out you need to repent and get that right with god you got to remember your first love who you really love more than all the world my fourth point is arousing thoughts arousing thoughts these kind of lustful thoughts which is pretty obvious that comes out one of the first main thing uh sins that would come out from the thought life is obviously something that's lustful or arousing proverbs chapter 6 verse 25 and 27 says lust not after her beauty in thine heart neither let her take thee with her eyelids can a man this is a good point here can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned you know it's amazing you hear so many uh wildfires going on in california because of some careless fool or idiot with the little flick of his cigarette or cigar or marijuana i guess that's the result of legalizing marijuana california so we get these nowadays but anyway that i just deviate okay i'm sure there are other reasons why we have wildfires okay but the point is is that just one little flick of a cigarette can turn into a huge wildfire that'll be hard to put out for long days and it doesn't matter how many firefighters you call out how much water you put how much resources and california can be so powerful and have all the money all the resources all the latest tech but it still cannot put out a fire that's resulted from just a little flick of a cigarette huge wildfire long days and long nights firefighters working overtime it's so hard to put out and you gotta understand that when you entertain one little lust in that mind it becomes just like that cigarette just that little lust you allow in see you think it's just a little bit and it's okay it's not a big deal that's what the world did that's why when you watch pg-13 movies you think that that's okay to watch it's just avengers there's nothing wrong with that it's just something that's pg it's okay but then they show a glimpse they always put a pretty actress or a pretty actor and they'll put something where they wear some kind of appearance that starts a little bit of a lust and you're not watching like god forbid it's not like you're watching something dark on the internet okay but see something a little bit like that gets you curious and you want more it can pop up in the middle of your bible reading it can pop up in the middle of your prayer time in the middle of the preaching in the middle of your sleep you think that that's something worth it not worth it not worth it it becomes something that's permanent habitual ingrained in your life and it's going to be a heart you know there's already i could be wrong but 99 of the people here go through that now 99 of the people go through it now whereas once in a while it'll pop out i'm not saying that you're all habitual lustful people but once in a while it just pops out and you go where'd that come from some of you who get the victory too old for that kind of stuff or you know you're just past that sequence it just pops out here and there and you go why you know why that's how powerful it is and that's one of the dark sins that you want to watch out for it because one of those little things becomes a permanent deep thing and it'll be and it's a fire that most of you 99 are still putting out now you're still firefighting not worth it not worth it parents watch out for your kids huh don't give them that much freedom with their cell phone i don't care how young they are there are i'll give there are cases of six-year-olds showing filth to other kids at school through a cell phone i'm getting this from liberal studies liberal schools we're not in a innocent world fifth point ashamed thoughts ashamed thoughts there are thoughts that we're ashamed about and then we regret and we beat ourselves and i don't think we understand this that's a sin you gotta understand that's a sin look uh past mistakes that we went through in life or even past sins or somebody that you've hurt and they make you feel guilty and they make you feel down you got to realize that's a sin there are things that you're embarrassed about that you don't want people to bring up or you don't want to go through that's a sin and sometimes you got to be careful of that those thoughts that you're ashamed about it's going to become part of a trauma in your life and then it's going to become a trauma that you're always going to fear and be afraid and when god wants you to face your fear or you're going through a suffering or a trial the devil is going to bring up that past that you're afraid of so you better watch out for that you know this pastor here i mean i had to learn to embrace the things that i'm ashamed about you know that i had to learn to embrace it cover under the blood and move on do you know how many do you know how many times you can hear me slip on youtube you can hear me slip on youtube all right danielle seeley it's documentary all right it's documentary sister all right so i i can but that's just uh just a small word out of a long list but then you know people they'll poke fun at me you know oh this people say that look at him you know he knows so much bible but look he can even say a basic word like that you know why i do i embrace it you know why because i'm not that smart i'll just say that you're right i'm not that smart i'm a fool but you know i am evidence that god can use a fool like me who can slip up in words and god can use me so god can use any dummy any fool to be so intelligent and to defend his word shouldn't that be encouraging that's why we should be embrace the things we're ashamed about why to encourage other people to encourage other people philippians chapter 3 verse 13 says brethren i count not myself to have apprehended but this one thing i do forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before you got to realize that the things that you do in your future can drown out the things in your past you know you're so uh stuck in your past in the things that you're ashamed about oh you know people know that i did this or i did that and stuff like that look why don't you just stop thinking about the past and start doing a lot of good in your life what's gonna happen is when you do so much good in your life people are gonna easily know and remember you as the person who first welcomed me at church the person who says that i'm praying for you the person who comes in and then tries to make feel make people feel welcome the person who's the soul winner the person who's the singer the person who's the shouter the person who changed my life and helped me now some of you need to start working on your future and then start thinking about the now do good things for the lord who cares about the past and what's gonna happen is people are gonna easily forget about the past look at the apostle paul what's the first thing on your mind about the apostle paul murderer and torture of christians no that's the thing is in your mind about the apostle paul is he served the lord he did so much good he helped people he wrote the first thir he wrote the 13 epistles in your bible that's the difference sure we might remember about the times that he murdered people tortured people and stuff like that but the first thing in our mind is not a killer the first thing in our mind is the greatest christian probably who ever lived if there is a past that you should be ashamed about is not just hurting a brother and sister christ it's physically hurting a brother and sister in christ to the point of torture and death that's something you should be ashamed of but paul didn't let that dictate him he just looked he said forget the past go forward and you know what the first thing is on people's mind now about the apostle paul one of the greatest christians who ever lived now let that encourage you and start living for the lord and it's going to get rid of the embarrassment the past mistakes the thoughts that you're ashamed of my sixth point is abject thoughts my sixth point is abject thoughts in other words there are things that we become discouraged we feel abject and we feel down and the reason why is because of the sufferings that we go through so i don't know what kind of sufferings that you're going through in your life but it's making you just feel down in the dumps you get abject thoughts some of you are going through problems in the home in the church in your own personal life in your workplace i don't know what's going on but it gets you down the what's really discouraging is how you serve hard for the lord but you don't get much results right it feels like a defeat i know what that's like pastoring a church in the san francisco bay area but god says at first samuel chapter 30 verse 6 and david was greatly distressed for the people spake of stoning him because the soul of all the people was grieved every man for his sons and for his daughters but david encouraged himself in the lord his god i can't tell you how many sermons are based off of just that one verse i couldn't help but make a sermon out of that verse too you know whenever you get discouraged through the trial through the pain the suffering the busyness in life or conflict or the times that you let god down and there's a personal struggle you're going through family conflict and then no matter how hard you try to serve the lord you just feel like you're not producing enough results you need to encourage yourself do you understand that it's good that you come to church that you dragged yourself it's good that you're reading the bible and praying and stuff like that but you got to realize this you can't expect some kind of magic feeling or magic thought to pop out and then you just suddenly get encouraged you need to encourage yourself that's what the bible said about david because pastor is not going to come to you all the time and shake your hand and say hi please don't raise your hands how many of you did not say hi yet don't do that all right man wait till we get a thousand you know oh my goodness i'm just gonna i'm gonna be that poor pastor sitting by the door and going high high and then just pushing somebody so i can grab the next person's hand to say hi and then go that way and then just do this quickly and it becomes mechanical and doesn't become genuine and real god forbid oh i don't want to be that pastor man i feel sorry for those pastors you know man some of those pastors should be actually a little bit happy that their membership dropped during copenhagen that way they don't have to keep doing that with people but anyways but uh you got to realize that you need to encourage yourself you can't just feel down just because you know you don't get uh here's something important is that people especially get discouraged during their suffering during their conflict during their hard times when other when they feel like other people are not there to help them all right that's important it's important to understand that you feel like that you're hidden you're not getting enough attention and that you're not getting the support that you need from the church and you know all i can say is sorry to that one because i'm human flesh and i'm not god and i can't be there all the time especially with my own conflicts and i feel bad about that but you've got to understand that you cannot rely on a pastor or on a man you got to be relying on the lord and you got to understand the true meaning of in the trial in the conflict it's literally just jesus and you and i don't care if you have a husband i don't care if you have a wife you've got to understand that despite of the spouse being there that person cannot truly be there at the moment of the feeling where you're down at the bottom and you can't just rely and cry at all to your wife or to your husband because they can't meet your knee truly like you want it to be it's jesus christ i know what that feels like just down all alone and i can't tell people my private prayers and i just have to say it's just you you lord and you know what i have to do i have to encourage myself myself and that's the point perhaps the point is the reason why god wants you to go through that lonely situation is to finally open your eyes and say see only me do you get it now oh you know it in your head but you didn't really get it until you go through it until you feel the pain until you feel the isolation until you know what it's like and you're actually experiencing it then you really get it that man god it is you mean what you said it's just that song goes it's just jesus and me now if you can't think of anything encouraging and it's so difficult and you really can't count your blessings and you really can't encourage yourself which i highly doubt you got to realize this let's even assume you can't think of anything encouraging the very worst case scenario is god will pay back for every teardrop that you cry and every ounce of pain you go through that is the worst case scenario either in this life or in above and he will and it'll be too good that you'll you'll forget all the pain that you went through you're gonna forget it you won't even remember what it was like to feel that pain and that's the worst case scenario so why don't you encourage yourself huh i don't care what trial what conflict or what pain you're going through you can encourage yourself there are too many good things the lord has given to you but you've taken them for granted and you've taken them lightly if you're not careful the devil's going to steal your joy that you should be enjoying the things that you have now the devil the lord might even take them away for you to learn to remember man i remember that good stuff that i had it happens brother my seventh point is alibi thoughts alibi thoughts there are alibis that we come up with all the time in our mind and i believe the key to sin the key to backsliding the key to why we don't do enough for the lord is our thoughts say i can't do it i'm too busy or you know you you don't have enough strength to do it that day or see it's always an alibi i mean you're not saying you're not saying it to me pastor i can't come to church because of this no you do that to yourself every morning you get up you say that to yourself i can't come to church today because of this this this i can't read my bible i can't pray because of this this this alibi thoughts that's a sin turn to luke chapter nine luke chapter nine turn to luke chapter nine [Music] we gotta get rid of those excuses in our minds because those are the things what's turning you away from the lord turning you away from church and even robbing you of your joy and peace in jesus christ because of alibi thoughts when god gives you scripture to succeed you go but i can't do this and see you're making alibi thoughts that's the devil's tactic is to put butt in there it's to complicate your mind it's to ingrain it where you feel helpless and hopeless and the mind develops excuses hey put that thing away man okay luke chapter 9 and verse 59 the bible says and he said unto another follow me but he said see but right and look at his alibi lord suffer me first to go and bury my father if some member said that to me i'd say oh please do i'm not gonna beat the person my father died so i gotta go to the funeral so i can't come right now i understand you think i'm gonna beat the person over the head i ain't but look what jesus did verse 60 jesus said unto him let the dead bury their dead but go thou and preach the kingdom of god my goodness i mean jesus said uh hey let the dead bury their dead i mean what in the world man i wouldn't i wouldn't dare say that to somebody try using this text when you're preaching at a funeral let the dead bury the dead oh you cry even harder after that i mean what a way man jesus is not the comforter right here you know verse 61 and also another said lord i will follow thee but let me first go bid them farewell which are at home at my house that's pretty obvious all right let me say goodbye to my family before i come and follow you and jesus said verse 62 jesus said unto him no man having put his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for the kingdom of god man you talk about tough language all right if jesus was your you think you're mad at me i'm offensive wait till jesus is your preacher you'll be in shock you'll go that's not the loving jesus that i watched from ellen degenerate news what she said about jesus about being loving and of all genders stuff like that yeah you're way off your rocker on that one man if you heard jesus talk you'd call him the greatest hate monger that ever that's what the world would call him why wouldn't jesus allow that because the idea is you know what the point is what jesus said here if you get just another step closer toward that good excuse that you're leaning upon for that reason then you gotta realize that then that means you're not a step closer to jesus step farther a step to go to a place that's farther from god means what it says it means you're a step farther from god and when you're right here and god is right here that means you never get closer to god never if you insist to stay here with your excuse then what that means is you're you're never gonna be here with god do you understand that that's why jesus gave that tough language how can you grow more spiritually when you keep blocking them with excuses if excuse is the reason why you can't read your bible why you can't come to church why you can't win a soul why you can't serve god then guess what the devil is going to use guess what the flesh is going to use guess what the world is going to use those same excuses over and over again because why it worked throughout the past years of your life why not keep doing it my eighth point is accusing thoughts accusing thoughts let's again matthew uh well we don't have to turn there but the thoughts that come out is we automatically accuse things and that is very very dangerous you know why you got to be careful when you come to this bible believing church some of you might come to this bible believing church because i want the truth and yeah pointing out what is evil and what is wrong but maybe the reason why you came to this church is because see you're used to that lifestyle that character that habit draws you of finding what is wrong and everything and not what is good and that becomes accusing mine and some people say why do independent baptists i don't get bible-believing churches we're supposed to be loving why do we split into splendors because probably the problem is is that bible believers have a problem with accusing now you if there's something that's wrong with you is i that critical mindset why did he say it that way why did she say it that way why did he did why did he treat me that way in that man why did he gets to a point where pastor smiled at me today what's he doing there's a reason behind that yeah there is a reason you know what the reason is hi i i don't go deeper than that there's a deeper reason i would like to know there are people who get sensitive you know sensitive about the smallest things you know but they get sensitive you gotta be careful that especially now look i'm going to say this because i think it's needful i think because we're so used to being brought up in the culture of this liberal bay area even though we don't endorse liberal doctrines their practice their mentality their way of doing things rubs off rubs off on us so because it rubs off on us then when we hear a preacher say preaching something very hard then we automatically get an accusing mind and get sensitive and we get triggered and we say why did he say that that's pretty mean you know i wouldn't say that to my people i think he's unloving what you know what happened you got so used to this culture that's why you know what it is sensitive sensitivity they say worse things in the army and you see them whining and suing them about you know being oh they're not sensitive enough my goodness and christians get all sensitive huh you ain't seen nothing yet man i mean i i bet you if you get triggered by that preacher you get more triggered when jesus is speaking to you he said far worse things matthew chapter seven verse three through five says and why behold this thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye but considers not the beam that is in thine own eye or how will thou say to thy brother let me pull out the motion i and behold a beam is in thine own eye thou hypocrite first cast out the beam out thine oh and i and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye that's the problem is that how come you're so good at judging other things but you're not even good enough to judge yourself that's your problem you know what the problem with accusing thoughts is you're so good at finding problems with situations around you other people except yourself if you're so good at finding what's wrong with others and situations then you should be good at finding problems with yourself oh you know why you're not good at that because you're filled with pride flesh that's your problem because uh let's even assume here from matthew chapter 7 that those other people that you accuse let's say they corrected those things they fixed those things they did things that the way you want to do things all right let's say that we do it all that way then guess what what good is all that that others are corrected but not yourself then you know what deep down your heart is i want to do what i want to do let me keep my own sin my own fleshly ways but let other people fix their fleshly problems you know what that is you're a hypocrite you think you're loving huh no not with that uh complaint in your thought you're not saying it thought you're complaining in your mind you're sensitive in your mind you're critical in your mind and that's a dangerous thing you better watch out for that that is a selfish hypocrite so if i were you i'd leave them alone you know why because you know why you should leave them alone with their problems there are plenty of problems you have yourself that you leave alone that you don't make a big deal about yeah that's right fair fair all right my ninth point see it's easy to point out the charismatic problem the apostate church problems and then all the other liberals out there let's see the finger is not going this way that's your problem if there should be a sermon that we should preach against you should not be preaching against the liberals you should not be against other people if there's a sermon that you came for it's a preaching against you that's what you came to this church for it's about you and yourself that you can fix and get right with the lord why because you're selfish enough where you can uh get off scot-free at the judgment seat of christ while others don't so then you want those other people to fare better at the judgment seat of christ than you huh you fix your problem you fix your problem okay let's say that they fix their problem then they're gonna probably do better at the judgment seat of christ than you man if i were you i'd be more accusing you know who i would accuse more than any other person me me all right i'd spend more time on that one and trust me the arguments you have in the household or with people in the church is gonna drop a lot if you don't believe me you try it out if you don't believe me find something that you're wrong about in the argument and say i'm sorry and then see what happens to the other person oh then it's gonna simmer down you know one thing i learned too once i say sorry then all of a sudden the other person says you know i'm sorry too you know i meant that yeah you know what i'm talking about right see you know what the problem is your problem is you're full of yourself you're just full of pride you know you're a bunch of you're a bunch of proud hypocrites you're not real bible believers the you're all hypocrites in this church all right next point ninth point ninth point that includes you two sir yeah i'm i'm happy to be the chief of sinners as paul said okay my ninth point all right what a great way to start church all right we're probably people not back here anymore anxious thoughts anxious thoughts and you gotta watch out for those kind of thoughts that make you anxious make you worried you understand that is sin and that is not what god wants for you to have in your life matthew chapter 6 and verse 31 says therefore take no thought saying what shall we eat or what shall we drink or where with all shall we be closed you know where anxiety comes from it's not more from your actions it's more from your thoughts that verse says therefore take no thought what am i gonna eat why am i gonna drink or what am i gonna do gotta watch out for that that's where anxiety comes from uh because here's something you got to ask yourself when you ask yourself these questions what if i fail in my job what if i fail in my school what if my family member does this or what if this bad thing happens in the church and look how do you know those worries are actually going to happen what if they didn't actually happen at all what if god took care of those problems for you like he did so many times before then what did you do you wasted the past couple of days worrying fretting sweating and wasting your time when you have just went outside and played golf and maybe i'll make the exception of television here you could have just sit down at home been lazy at your couch eat popcorn and just watch tv all you did was waste time biting and chewing on your fingernails what if this is going to happen what if that's going to happen you know what's going to happen you better be careful if you keep trying to find problems to worry about they can happen that's why you got to watch out for those thoughts man and here's another here's another thing you better be careful of worrying about those thoughts because like i mentioned before they don't even happen and then you realize that it's just a fantasy and a monster you made up you made your own boogeyman when you were sleeping in the middle of the night all of you had your all of you were scared of the big bad boogie man every time you slept at night and you say what if this was gonna happen what if that's gonna happen oh i'm so scared oh i'm so scared and you're about to wet your blankets because you're just panicking in a frenzy i mean you're just fantasizing about a boogie man that's just going to pop out in the side of your bed and go hi there and grab your feet maybe i just scared some of you now you're probably going to think that when you're sleeping all right the the so let's go to the 10th point here alluring thoughts alluring thoughts and that's the summary of everything i think if you fix this one then you get the idea how we get all the other wrong thoughts it stems from temptations something that allures you the mind wants to think that way isn't it amazing now if i gave you a choice you know would you like to be filled with happiness in a world of peace and love and some people would say yeah i would want that and there are actually tv shows that would actually make up scenes of people plugging them their brains to delve into a fantasy virtual world oh excuse me we're already living in that now you know so a lot of people going to that so that all they can immerse themselves into a world of peace and happiness and love rather than pain suffering and depression but guess what you'd be surprised your mind does not want the happiness your mind does not want the joy your mind does not want the peace you know what your mind wants worry worry worry anger anger anger envy envy envy discouragement discouragement oh stupid me oh woe is me oh i have an excuse but this and but that that's what your mind wants isn't that amazing deep down inside your heart you don't want to be that person who delves his mind into a world full of happiness and peace and love and just pure joy actually you really don't you're not that person the person that you truly are is you want to get inside this computer brain in this virtual world of anger envy convectiveness and misery that's what your mind wants isn't that amazing that's amazing and god never intended you to live in a world like that we live in a world sure of pain sorrow depression and all that but when you're in jesus christ and walking in the spirit you're walking in his world and this outside world is dead to you and you realize this world is truly not your home james chapter 1 verse 8 and verse 14 says a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed you cannot let these thoughts allure you my friend let's think discouragement let's think anger let's think covetousness can't let that lure you dr peter s rockman he once wrote that one of the keys to conquer temptations is single mindedness not double mindedness if you don't want to fall it's very simple don't let the tempting thought into your mind oh i can't read my bible because of this right i know there's peace but i worry because of this get rid of that and have a single mind and that conquers temptation holiness purity let's read the bible let's pray god will work all things for good he will take care of my pain he has a greater plan on purpose and that singleness of mind will drive those other thoughts away that are poison and toxic and eat away to the core of your soul first corinthians chapter 4 verse 5 says therefore judge nothing before the time until the lord come who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the councils of the heart and then it shall and then shall have excuse me and then shall every man have praise of god now this is one of the proof texts that one of the things that the lord will judge at the judgment seat of christ is your thoughts do you not realize that you know what's the greatest thing that i believe that many christians will be surprised the most when they go to the judgment seat of christ is their thought life and they go up to heaven before god and then god he has a list laid out of all the sins that they committed murder hate fornication adultery wickedness covetousness envy and you go god i didn't commit those sins and god says oh you didn't do it outwardly these are sins from your hearts it's so important that every day you inspect your heart you inspect yourself and that every time you confess your sins under the blood you always look at your heart and say lord today's memory verse right search me o god know my heart try me it's so important to do that remember that even all the sins that we commit outwardly anyway come from the temptation in our thoughts so think about this if you fix your thought life do you not realize this pretty much everything in your life i would dare say the sins you're struggling with or any problems that is attributed to you should be fixed it should be fixed the core thing that you want to get at in today's message that you don't want to waste is your thought life i would encourage you fix your thought life it would transform you it'll get you to always focus on god it'll get you to read the bible and pray first thing it'll drag you to church it'll drag you to soul winning it'll get you to conquer the temptation and sin even the dark ones the thing that you want to fix out of this message is your thought life and this is why this sermon might be might be the best sermon that you will hear that will fix everything in your life every head bow and every eye shut if there's something you want to fix it is your thought life and i would encourage you if the lord led upon your heart to come wherever the lord led or convicted upon your heart feel free to come to the altar's floor some of you can pray in your seat some of you can kneel however way the lord deals with your heart but i would encourage every one of you to take time right now and not waste it in fixing your thought life everyone has a mental problem everyone every single person all have sinned and come short of the glory of god we've all done wrong we've all sinned including your pastor so it's so important that we have to fix our thought life that's one of the sins that's overlooked is our imagination inspect and check yourself let's go through the list so you can see what sins to confess anger do you have thoughts that stem out of anger do you have thoughts that are abstract that deviate from what is normal it wanders and then it it reproduces sin as a result or something worldly thoughts that are avaricious it has ill will why the convexiousness that stems from depression that stems from conveying somebody envy that stands because you're angry at somebody else arousing thoughts things that are sexual things that are lustful thoughts that you're ashamed about you keep looking at your past mistakes and some of you have traumatic things about that that you're totally ashamed about it's about time you embraced it it's about time you embraced it and think about the future instead not the past what you can do for the lord thoughts that make you feel abjected you feel down in the dumps because of discouragement trial and pain and it's weighing you down confess that under the blood those thoughts thoughts that make you develop excuses thoughts that make you keep justifying your wrong doing you gotta fix those thoughts thoughts that make you accusing you get sensitive you complain about stuff especially during this these restrictions it's easy to complain about life but you got to realize there's so much good the lord has given to you toward other people you accuse you get sensitive watch out for that thoughts that make you worried fearful anxious you got to realize god holds your tomorrow confess that under the blood overall thoughts that tempt you that's the key the key is a thought will pop out because it allergic your mind your body wants to think that that's the point and what you've got to do is the thing that will conquer it is to have a singleness of mind that's the key to drive out any wrong thought in your life that stems from temptation it's from having a singleness of mind saying my mind is going to be on to the bible reading and prayer first thing in the morning my mind is i just want to meditate and talk to god today i just want to rejoice and be happy with the brethren today i want to give a track to some soul even if they reject me see that singleness of mind will get you to do it father god i pray that today's preaching has convicted and changed people's lives our thought life is probably one of the greatest sins that majority of christians will face at the judgment seat of christ i pray that we'll fix our thought pattern our thinking in our hearts by doing so we can change our whole life pretty much into living a life that will glorify and honor you dismiss us now with your blessing in the precious name of jesus we pray amen
