Edit Shorts Like Alex Hormozi in DaVinci Resolve 18

if you haven't been living under a rock for the last few months you've probably seen at least a thousand shots like these so if you ever feel like you're addicted to your phone and you've probably seen once in this style of people like Andrew Tate emangatzi snico and the whole lot these guys have absolutely popped off with this specific short style and in this video I'll teach you exactly how you can replicate that style in DaVinci Resolve alright so the first thing you're gonna do is go to file project settings and check use vertical resolution then you're gonna take your footage throw it in your timeline and adjust it so that it fits the entire video If you have a pair of eyes you'll notice that every single one of these shorts has a very specific subtitle style so go to the toolbox look for Text Plus and slide that into your timeline then you're gonna have to pick a font and guess the name of the font that Alex removes he uses in his shorts the Bold fonts how ironic after you've picked the forms you're gonna transcribe the first sentence adjust the size and position the subtitles under the speaker's face then you're gonna go to the shading tab enable the second element change the color to Black and increase the thickness this is the outline of your subtitles then you're gonna go to the third element which is your Shadow and you're gonna increase the X and Y values on softness the last step is to enable The Fifth Element change the appearance style change the color to Black and then increase the softness on X and Y you should also increase the thickness to finish styling the captions you're gonna need to throw some color and animation in there use green to highlight positive words red for negative ones and yellow for anything in between change the color of specific words you're gonna go to the fusion page enable character level styling then go to modifiers select the word that you want to color go to the shading Tab and change the color and lastly you're going to increase the size of the highlighted word and then you're gonna have to do this process over and over again for all the subtitles in the video and now that we have our subtitles done there's one more key element emojis if you don't already have emojis downloaded you can go to emojipedia and get them from there I have all of my emojis in a power bin and I have a video on my channel how do they work and how to set them up so if you want to use power bins as well go ahead and check that video out first then you're gonna throw in some emojis that are relevant to what the speaker is saying after you've placed down all of the Emojis you're gonna have to animate them I personally use the magic animate plugin from Mr Alex Tech you can definitely go check it out it's free and he has videos on how to use it and I have a preset for that plugin saved on an adjustment clip and a power button you can copy the settings right here after you've animated all of your emojis the only thing that's left is adding some background music once you have your music ready you're gonna clip it down fit it to the video and lower the volume remember this is just background music so don't go overboard with the volume and now the only thing that's left to do is export the video I prefer to use the MP4 format but you can use whatever you want and that's it now you know how to make an Alex from multi-type short thank you for watching and check out these two videos to learn something new about resolve
