Easter Eggs in Deltarune Chapter 2 [SPOILERS] - DPadGamer

after three long years delta room chapter two has been released for free what a nice treat much like with chapter one i thought i would put together an easter egg fun fact video looking at all the neat stuff that this installment has to offer big thanks to my viewers who submitted their suggestions via community post to help make this video possible also just like with chapter one there will be spoilers okay okay so this time around we pick up the morning after where we left off if you remember chris ripped out their hearts and threw in a cage before brandishing a knife it seems that chris was getting a midnight snack because toriel found their knife in an emptied pie tin very spooky well in the bedroom we can check our brother's computer to find a folder called epic games stuff with a poorly drawn final boss design of a creature with giant rainbow wings how familiar when heading downstairs we can pop into the bathroom and check the sink to which we get the line it's not yet time to wash our hands which becomes way more sinister once we've seen the sequence at the end of this chapter also shout outs to cheriel as you head to the library from the school you'll find a huge traffic jam that undyne is either trying to solve or make worse it's hard to tell still if you listen for a bit the honking will occasionally give way to part of the melody from undyne's theme [Music] jumping forward this chapter is focused around the dark world within the library's computer room as such there is a running theme of the internets and to a lesser extent video games part way through and at the end the fight against queen is a neat homage to punch out also um when you complete one of the puzzles in the queen's mansion barely angrily says that's uh you're cheating just like when you wave dash referencing super smash bros he must be a fan of the series because noel's father rudy mentions beardly's theorem of the inequality of children's fighting games also he looks vaguely like falco and is dressed like him too there's probably a bunch of game of references but i'll instead jump to the dances seen during the sweet cap and cakes boss fight or i'll say dance is like five and susie dances like lioness both from a charlie brown christmas chris is performing part of the traditional ukrainian pop-back dance which you might recognize as the kadzowski kick from tf2 i probably said all of those words wrong next here is an odd scene you might find interesting when going through the city with noel or perhaps later on when you can backtrack head south in this area with long stretches of road you'll find a path to the left with warning signs on the walls depicting a dog continue and you'll witness chris get brutally unalived by toby fox [Music] we then wake up besides a dumpster presumably where toby fox dumped our body and while here we can check the corner and we'll get moss with a triumphant jingle our title becomes moss finder and you actually eat the moss together with susie okay then if you check the tree graffitied onto the wall it says that there is a room between if we take the hints and go back and forth repeatedly through the screen transition uh we will actually find ourselves in a different room eventually it took me about like 30 seconds of trying follow this path and you'll come to a tree check behind the tree to find a man say yes to the man to get an egg and then there was not a man nito now let's talk about this chapter's resident weirdo well one of them specifically spamton g spamton who you run into while trying to clear up a traffic jam after you've dealt with him he tells you to visit him in his shop in the trash area clothes for repairs aka trash zone this can be done by utilizing the fast travel doors that activate once reaching the entrance of the queen's mansion head to the west of trashstone and through this door to access spamton's very functional store talk with him about our deal and he'll basically say that you must go to the queen's basement and retrieve something so he can be a big shot to unlock the way there we get a key gen now before we can access the basement with our key gen we first need some help specifically while going through these cyber fields you'll find a hacker wearing sunglasses with a head shaped like a cursor if you find his three blue check marks located in this chest to the east of hacker in this chest atop one of the three teacup rides and as a reward for spelling out uh whatever that is speak to him again and it'll recruit him to your town and he'll also say that perhaps our cyber paths will snipe across once more in the mansion of course we do cross paths again finding him in a room on the first floor he wanders left and right looking for a back door watch his head and when the cursor turns to a finger click on the object it points to this opens a door back to the hub as well as the path forward which we can unlock using the key gen then chris by themselves heads down into the basement make sure to then save because this next part is perhaps the hardest challenge in the game head all the way to the west and take the teacup ride down click this thingy to unlock the force field and then get back in the teacups get ready because on the way up is said challenge make sure you save again so you don't have to do that again and then continue onwards in the corner of this room we'll find an old machine that looks suspiciously similar to mettaton neo take the empty disk all the way back to spamton elated he will transfer himself into said disc which he asks that we return to where we found it nothing seems to happen at first but when we go to leave a new and improved spamton drops down but he's not yet free to achieve true freedom at least according to him he needs our soul thankfully suzy drops in to save us and what follows is this chapter's secret boss fight with a very awesome soundtrack [Music] now [Music] ah [Music] [Music] foreign but alas he cannot be a real boy still he lends us his strength in the form of the deal maker some fashionable glasses that also increase money gained and a shadow crystal which is used somewhere for something probably on the way out susie tries to talk about what just happened and notice that something about chris is off as if they're troubled when i answered yes susie describes chris as having said it being strained i'm sure there's some serious lore implications from all of this but that's a bit outside the scope of this video now let's discuss this chapter's alternative route i've heard it be called the weird round to the pippis route but i think it's most accurately described as the snow grave route it can be initiated as soon as you form a truce with noel in the city and she joins your party immediately you want to start backtracking towards the trash zone from now on you need to fight every enemy you see and force noel to freeze them using her ice shock i shock requires at least 16 tp which is exactly how much you get by defending as chris each turn once frozen the battle is over and noel gets stronger and the enemy is left frozen in place permanently by the time you reach the west edge of trash zone you'll find that chris and noel's titles have changed in the menu at first they were tactician commands the party by acts sometimes and snowcaster might be able to use some cool moves now they are leader commands and frostmanser freezes the enemy getting to this point and checking spamton's locked door yields this short interaction now as we head back to the city we'll find all of the cars gone and replaced by more enemies that we need to have noelle freeze as well once you reach the first annoying mouse room try to leave without noel repeatedly until you can say proceed and then it forces noel to rush through on her own to which she comments that chris is being quite bossy when we get to the ferris wheel advertisement there is an unsettling interaction that we can play out answer i will ride with you to which noel playfully declines because apparently chris is quite a prankster you know then states noel will ride with me again noel comments to herself about how there's something off about chris head to the right and talk to the shoe seller when he offers dating shoes answer were something else to which noel will quietly dissent and the guy will then offer divorcing shoes when you try to leave he'll speak up and offer a freeze ring say that you'll get it the price of the ring will be however much money you have plus one dollar so you can never afford it [Laughter] [Laughter] [Music] noel wants to deny what happened but it's safe to assume that noel was forced to freeze the man to get the freeze ring to which she says it's fine if it means it's all so that she can get stronger if you check the freeze ring it reveals that it looks like a little snow globe and it's almost as if you can see someone in there which might explain why there is no man-shaped ice cube left behind heading down we get to our first lightning gate noel will step on it as normal but we can see her move in place as we move to our own button [Laughter] [Music] continuing on there are more enemies to freeze but you'll eventually find that they now run away once spotting our team as we reach this next section that used to contain a bunch of cars and instead just has a bunch of enemies heads southwest to where we encountered the toby fox hit and run in the normal route this time we'll go straight to the dumpster to find spamton who will state a number which is how many enemies remain to be frozen if you're on the right track at this point it should be four head onwards and at the second annoying mass room akin keeps saying proceed proceed proceed noelle will be backed closer and closer to the lightning gates again the screen goes black and she freezes the whole puzzle noel excuses this as chris just helping make noel stronger freeze the next two mice encounters and then at the third and final annoying mass room noel will take the initiative and freeze it herself [Laughter] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] finally freeze both of the pop-up encounters in this room and then head back immediately if you were to continue onwards you'd get stuck in the birdly fights without the ability to continue the snow grave route now that you're back spam 10 from within a dumpster will offer a ring of thorns for 1997 chroma which should be easily affordable with all the loot we've gotten from our frozen enemies equip the thorn ring to noel which greatly increases her magic strength as well as reduces the tp cost of ice spells by 100 now noelle's title is ice transfer receives pain to become stronger [Applause] defend and gather tp until you reach 100 which shouldn't take very long by the way i should note that apparently during this fight if chris falls unconscious verbally will call out to noel and tell her to come back over here but noel can still hear their voice presumably talking about the player giving them orders tell noel to use snow grave a new spell that has just appeared which requires 100 tp note that this spell is marked as fatal [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] ah [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] ah [Laughter] now we are truly locked into the snow grave route the way forwards and back are locked with cones and there is nothing that can be done about birdly so head up and follow the path into a manhole which takes us directly to the queen's mansion in the midst we find that rule card has been statufied and checking our inventory reveals that lancer has also turned to stone by now the distraught citizen reveals that the butlers has been trapped in the cafe and the queen is nowhere to be found as such a strange force has taken over the mansion which we quickly learn is spamton heading to the basement door spamton tells us to hold on while he's changing forms and thanks us and noel for helping him live big in the mansion all of the paintings now resemble spamton and the large ballroom that we must cross is filled with blue pipis hence why some call this the pippis route at this point i don't think it matters whether you fight or spare the enemies but just keep moving on until you reach noel's room susie will head inside and presumably have the same interaction that we saw during the normal rounds but this time there's no cut away or else say asks us repeatedly if you're wondering what's happening in there as if they're hoping that the camera would pan away but it never does onwards we run into the queen who is feeling less than stellar noel is in no condition to assist her now and she couldn't find that bird guy anywhere queen enters her mech but before we can initiate our big crazy battle relsay confronts her explaining what the roaring is having learned the truth our meme queen backs down immediately susie heads back to see noel and rosse speaks with the queen about moving into our castle town as such chris is forced to go steal the fountain themself we get one save points and a vending machine that sells cd bagels which you definitely want to stock up on if you're otherwise empty like i was at the fountain spam to neo drops in to thank us for helping him take over the mansion city and thus the world then it's boss time this encounter is much like the original spam to neo fights but we only have chris luckily we do have two new abilities via act one that deals two times damage and the other which heals chris for 120 hp it is a tough fight but even with subpar equipment i had a bounce blade and a pocket full of bagels it's doable i found it easiest when i was focused on defending and dodging to build tp and then utilizing x-slash and fried pippis when applicable when he drops to 10 health he'll change up his strategy reducing his damage but greatly increasing his defense don't bother attacking but instead use act to call upon your friends chris calls for rousey but there is no response chris calls for susie but there is no response when we whisper noelle's name the screen goes dark and noel presumed believes freezes spam to neo there and then killing him with that the fountain is sealed and we all appear back in the computer room in the library while his dialogue is different this time describing her dream as a nightmare and despite trying she cannot wake up verbally [Laughter] it says that he doesn't seem to be awake which makes sense if he's actually asleep or dead before leaving if you check the closet it says that a large person could easily fit inside [Music] the rest of the town plays out as normal and the end sequence is exactly the same as the normal route what's different is the hospital noel is again visiting her father and they're playing a game together in the normal route there is a playful back and forth between noel and her father he suggests using fire shock against the boss which doesn't work and noel wishes that she could use healing magic in real life so that she could heal her father it's very sweet this time in the snow grave route noel has definitely been affected by her time in the dark world suggesting to use ice shock against the ice palace boss and refusing to give up control [Music] after noticing susie and chris noel again rushes off when we go to leave noel's father rudy stops susie and asks her to hold on chris follows after noel and we hear her talking to herself [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] laughs [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] ah [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] and yeah that pretty much concludes the snow gray route it was a lot and i hope i covered it properly because i feel like this will have some serious implications for the chapters going forward but anyways let's talk about some of the fun stuff around town that can be found near the end of the chapter first off fun fact while in the real world there is a ball of junk which actually represents your entire dark world inventory if you drop the ball of junk despite the warning you lose your entire dark world inventory so like don't do that also we can visit the spooky door south of town and find monster kid and snowy discussing whatever is beyond the doors monster kid mentions chris and snowy calls them a weenie and susie butts in to stick up for her friend it's it's wholesome but it's very possible that the phrase worry about what's out here first might be foreshadowing for the future only time will tell southwest of town in the graveyard we can find father alvin besides his father at gerson boom's grave if you ask about your brother ezreal he mentions that he would often confess to various sins despite the sins and confession not being a thing in their religion the sin in question is that he dropped the lizard in the pit to jump high in a video game aka sacrificing yoshi in something like super mario world it's so cute also if you stop by the store run by sands and go over to the freezer near the cat it'll trigger a scene where toriel stops in share some puns with sands before asgore shows up with this pun swinging a miss speaking of asgore if you go to the police station and check the news clippings besides napstablook it reveals that asgore used to be on the force which is quite interesting i think that is new information [Music] [Music] [Applause] well i wasn't trying on the videos so i hope that works thanks to my channel members for their supports and a fountain size
