[Music] alice's king there you go Andy you get started young [Music] we've had trials we made some mistakes we've had some sex setbacks [Music] let's figure it out what you're doing here you're using reverse psychology you want me to really be in your auction so you're pretending that you don't right I don't care if you're in the auction I don't care if you're not in the auction I have never felt so honestly and passionately lesyk TV bloopers with your votes featuring Bill Cosby's Robert DeNiro and tough face classics from the cast of Cheers The Carol Burnett Show Happy Days taxi and family ties and classic movies movie starring Dustin Hoffman and Peter Sellers plus all-time classics featuring news animals and with special guest appearances by Heath Herring with comedy classics from Bob Hope and Steve Cindy Williams without takes from Laverne and Shirley and Alfonso Ribeiro with bloopers from The Fresh Prince of bel-air starring Will Smith and now your welcome to a very special trip now tonight we are celebrating our 20th year of bringing your bloopers so we put together some all-time great ones featuring some of the biggest stars around like our first one it's from The Cosby Show now bill is doing a scene here with a young actor named Jason war one now the storyline of this thing is that Jason is taking one of bills daughters Vanessa out on a date now at the very start of the dialogue bill here's a you know a real loud offstage noise that you're gonna hear it to as a matter of fact but bill knows that this scenes never gonna be used and that's when he decides to have a little bit of fun I mean it's great it's all ad-lib take a look so you're going to take out my Vanessa huh what I want you to know something son and there's the noise yes it is very very special to me you understand mm-hmm and I've always thought a young boy come take out my daughter he would have to be special also here comes the ad-lib you ever did anything to hurt her take this do you understand what I mean a Jason is just trying to keep going keep your hands to yourself and get the soda and get out they got man behind you or smooth like with the sea did not know they'll be just a matter with him laughs looks like you could give him the very end part of it out now this next looper is one that keeps getting better and better as you remember a Bill Cosby's character in the show was dr. Huxtable now as the scene continues that phrase dr. Huxtable becomes a tongue twister for young Jason what's this let me tell you something Tyrone vanessa is my daughter very very special person you understand okay have a good time is that it that's possible is it Tyrell I want to tell you something vanessa is my daughter you understand that I mean it have a good time uh is that all you want to ask me - the hustle I'm ready the directors trying to cut the line here now I'm gonna get through this by your best shot [Music] now let me tell you something vanessa is my special special daughter you understand me have a good time is that it that's to us [Applause] but this next mover was from the television series that started it all for Tom Hanks I think called Bosom Buddies and now Tom in this scene discovers that it's not easy to open a can and stick to the script that was co-star Peter Scolari now it's Tom's line hey you know that is not a bad idea you just might have something there poncho I could come completely straight with her tell her how I have disguised myself as as I open the beer and forgot a line what am I gonna say Oh Tom Hanks just a couple of years ago now as you may remember the premise for bosom buddies call for Tom and his buddy played by Peter Scolari to dress up as female students and live in a girls dorm now in this next blooper tom is dressed as a woman he's trying to open a locked door first he blows the line locks are very delicate mechanisms 1/8 of an inch play on my son now gets the giggles that's Wendy Jo Sperber enjoying it too [Music] I watched on draw his tools too soon the times gonna drop on too soon akin to watch Wendy shut up these locks are very delicate mechanisms now the script calls for Danny DeVito to whisper something suggestive in Marilu Henner zere now most actors would think it not Danny waiting just so we know that you here's the password he goes again [Music] Marylou can't keep a straight face [Applause] [Laughter] hey there lots more to come so don't go away [Applause] [Music] very fortunate over the past 20 years to come across some terrific movie bloopers from the latest releases but a lot of people I mean they're always saying what was the first blooper now that would be impossible to figure out but probably one of the first ones took place in 1914 in a sessile B DeMille movie called The Virginian featuring actress Winifred Kingston take a look this is a silent movie of course now Winifred please do not sit on the bridge oh you know Chuck C is considered to be one of the funniest comedies of all time now watch this blooper it features Dustin Hoffman and actor director Sydney [ __ ] now at the end of the scene Dustin is supposed to turn and exit through the through the office door no I'm listening for you listen to me you don't gonna raise 25 cents no one will hire you watch you know you remember one of Robert DeNiro's most famous lines in one where he says you're talking to me I think what here's a lady who's not in this movie who's talking to Robert on the streets of New York the trouble is she doesn't realize she's walked right into a movie scene and that's Robert De Niro shooting a scene from King of Comedy now the woman on the right is an actress but watch the little lady walk up and say hello now here's a classic from the Pink Panther series let me set this up for you Peter Sellers and a three henchmen are supposed to enter the elevator and react as one of them has a has just broken wind now when the and the scene starts the director tries to use sort of an off-camera sound of breaking wind as their cue it here they are that's Peter in the middle and in a moment you'll hear that offstage sound okay let's try it again up there all eyeing each other waiting for that off-camera sound how people's going to suggest they drop the sound and just say the word now this time they're laughing so hard they can turn around [Laughter] kill one of the spin-offs from Happy Days a very popular show Laverne and Shirley starring Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams now we've got some all-time bloopers from that show and to tell us about them if you will please welcome Shirley herself Cindy Williams thanks dick even though these bloopers from Laverne and Shirley happened a long time ago I remember them like they were yesterday now the first one was a tongue twister that penny had to say the line was I want you to act lily-livered and yellow-bellied okay I got it I want you to act Lily live it in chicken belly just like [Music] waiting okay okay I got it mm-hmm I want you to act chicken you know little Lily now I'm gonna take over the line what do you want me to do what do you want me to do you want me to act yellow-bellied and lily livered now this blooper occurred before the era of the Wonder Bra in the script Laverne and Shirley we're competing in a dime a dance contest and wanted to make a lots of money so I stuffed my bra with Kleenex which is one of the things that petite girls did in those days and they also wore foam pads that were called falsies anybody remember those anyway the script called for Laverne to reach inside my dress and pull out a piece of Kleenex to wipe off my makeup but she digs a little too far and well you'll see come on let's get out of like the google off your face that's my own fall sir [Music] how many times have you done them in this next blooper Laverne and I had just taken on a couple of big girls who challenged us in a catfight its then an immediate cut to our apartment where we're supposed to look all beaten up and disheveled well neither pending our I wanted the other to see how we looked before we started the scene it was our own little personal joke to each other so the first time we do see each other is on camera and that was not a good idea as you'll see Penny's about to see me for the first time now I'm gonna get a good look at her now it's too late we're both cracking up I know I realized something about myself I stood there toe-to-toe believe me that was the last time penny and I ever surprised each other on the set you know it's a little scary to confront your mistakes again after all these years but I'm glad I have the courage to do it to back out would have been lily livered and yella belly I would have been a lily-livered yellow-bellied sapsucker coward Thank You Cindy Cindy Williams ladies you got me next classic ruthless web cheese I do carry salutes the comedy greats one of the most successful comedy series of all time was Cheers here's some bloopers featuring some of that really great cast starting with Shelley long remember she played Diane chambers miss Boston barmaid of 1983 miss Diane chambers all chili has to do is wear her crown proudly yes we do this again you know fine gourmet dining is truly one of the greatest pleasures of life huh because you want a rut get those geez dude L the coach is supposed to slide the snacks down the counter fine gourmet dining is truly one of the greatest place let's try that again rocket those cheese doodles down here here's the scene with Ted Danson and Kirstie Alley where some of the off-camera that's a cold I think I'm just trying to show off in front of the guys but you know truth is this is all kind of new to me and I keep expecting someone to blow their nose I'm sorry [Applause] here's drew Carey with a quick tongue co-star I don't want to make out the lizard you know drew Carey is not only one of the most successful TV stars around he's also a student of comedy he appreciates the talents of great comedians who've come before him and he understands how they've influenced his work and that's why I asked you to help us set up this very special segment dedicated to some of the greatest comedians of all time now here's what happened when I visited drew on is said by the way I was I was a little surprised by what I found you know I I said we're gonna come to carry separates had itself a straightjacket has it come to this oh yeah we're doing an episode this week where I go crazy so it's not too unusual thank you so much for helping to set up these bloopers I know you have great respect and admiration for these these are really great performance yeah I mean these guys have been around for years for their new vaudeville radio nightclubs movies and they come to live television and they totally screw it up happens to me every week thank you I got a dad you'd be out of a job I am very grateful I must thank one of these classic bloopers were about this is he features a fellow who's a from Cleveland as you are the great Bob Hope oh yeah you know he's born in England but he didn't really get funny till he moved to Cleveland this is the spicy meat the bowl to sketch remember oh yeah yeah it's the alka-seltzer commercial from the 60s and Bob's dressed like an Italian immigrant and he's eaten spaghetti meatballs and that's how they did things in those days and so if they made you up and it is Italian to give you like Chico Marx can organ grinder no no now they make you a thug remember the mob what whiskey I mean I never gonna get back for the vendors anyhow in this commercial bob has played a character who eats the food and says that some spicy meatball and of course the there was the prompt right to show how the meatball was a prop Department rigged a wire tube to go around the top of his head and then on cue like magic it was supposed to shoot smoke out of his ears now that was what it was supposed to do right there's the problem now remember smoke supposed to come out of his ears after some spicy meatballs [Music] [Applause] you want to do it again Bob are you don't know yet we don't know the best part the wind went right through my head that's of some spicy me the balls [Applause] they're trying to fix the smoke pipe [Applause] at to some spicy meatballs [Applause] and if your fault [Applause] [Applause] I mean that's a classy I love this one it features Steve Allen yeah and now you know before center net live ever thought of it you know Stevie's to do funny news and sports reports all the time in fact had his own sportscaster character yeah I think what was it the big Bill Allen rightly so in this bloopers he's wearing a big goofy hat crazy hair style like the sports guy and he catches him so look at himself with him in the monitor offstage and that that's when he loses it completely this was live TV [Music] stupid jerk bailout and bringing you bringing you how are you the complete sports roundup the world in sports for all your jerky sports out there in sports land well what's so in sports I'll tell you what's new the 1958 ouch baseball season is getting it away with the annual [Music] changing hats it wouldn't help for this good apart very warm up the big league teams are all in the spring training headquarters around the country you're a better man than I am thank you very much for helping us celebrate these Greek classics performers thanks for asking me just to be in a segment that includes all those comedy giants and that and Dick Clark it's honor for me oh thank you I I wouldn't put myself in our league I neither neither I but I'm in a straitjacket why do I put why do I set myself at ladies and gentlemen drew Carey thank you sir now you've got a lot more don't go away more coming right up some of the greatest news bloomers of all time [Applause] [Music] we're very very grateful to the terrific men and women of the news who sent us their bloopers over the past 20 years they have great senses of human as we all know bloopers can happen to the best of us and to prove it here are two legendary newsmen John Chancellor and David Brinkley the best and look what happened to them on the air live the Food and Drug Administration today ordered an immediate ban on the red dye used to color maraschino cherries and to the carbon black dye which is used in coloring jellybeans licorice mascara makeup and eyebrow pencils the FDA says those dyes may be a danger to health cosmetic manufacturers won't be greatly affected but the maraschino cherry Association said today that this action will ruin the 100 million dollar a year maraschino cherry industry on Mars it seems reasonable to scientists involved with a Viking project have so concluded they have new pictures from Mars you know some of the best bloopers occur when people unintentionally mix up words like in this news interview where a woman is referring to those those knitted blankets that keep you warm you know the things called Afghans Afghans 84 year old Margaret Johnson still has no heat tonight it's cold in here it's why I'm all covered up with these two afternoons came off my motorcycle on my radio fell off from my radio mr. knob is real enough that was just as you were approaching the nuts and bolts in the street that they're cleaning up now how do you feel about that is that an Oldman it's a new 120k which the 1942 Heisman Trophy winner from Georgia died early today at his athens home he was 70 degrees since the first debate and a correction Frank syncovich who died early today at his home in Athens was 70 degrees now this actor is going to introduce a guest who's been waiting just a little too long Motors bellwether theory which maintains that as GM stock goes so goes the market in general and I asked him to give us an update on the validity of that argument hello Bob get those guys over now yeah yeah hello Bob your title just just get those eyes open now now here's one of those quick ad-libs where the ad-libber has really no idea what he just said just you know top of they had that sort of thing now the sports anchor has just finished his report on a pitcher with an extremely speedy fastball listen to what the news anchor chimes in his fastball said rose Wayne can throw a baseball through a carwash and the ball never get wet leave that for another one thing for sure dick he's bound to have the cleanest balls in the majors Jim Graham saved the day Agriculture Department and darts a small watershed you know I'm one of those people who have a lot of respect and love for the past I am I am a collector my wife calls me a pack rat but neither here nor there I've got every Life magazine that was ever published at our Bandstand real restaurants I've got all kinds of memorabilia we got Madonna's bustier Elvis Presley's cape that sort of thing and this is why I really identify with Geraldo Rivera in this next blooper now Geraldo is showing an actual ticket from the original Woodstock Music Festival these things are rare with lots and lots of money especially if they are in mint condition and this ticket is should I say was Walt the executive producer of this broadcast Bob Fassbender and you get a tie charter that was actually there you know they they say that all the people claiming to have been ups [Laughter] [Music] this is a good one they're a lot more to come up from on back [Applause] and happy days when classic TV flip is returned you know when you're doing shows about animals there's nothing like a live demonstration that's when you get to see that little cute cuddly creatures up close and makes you love me more like this segment about the cute cuddly little ferret the author of this when it's time to work on the ferreting yeah modern ferreting by DB Plummer now this is really a result of a lifetime of ferreting so a joker sent it and I started I had them first when I was eight where abouts wasn't this season yorkshire Richfield yeah all right let it go put it on the floor it is hurting if you just hold on to mine I can't say about Joyce now this must be the climax the situation yeah if doesn't meant business if it have been through to the bone she's playing with you really yeah I shouldn't come around the play we've all seen those local segments on the news for Pet Adoption where they they show you some little adorable dog or cat you absolutely can't live without well here's an example I mean who wouldn't want to adopt this irresistible little creature called pinky the cat this is pinky he's a male cat domestic Shorthair he's available for docs from these pet of the week Placer County Animal Shelter he's a very loving cat yeah Oh but if you're a dog owner you know that curiosity is a treat that I mean it's not limited just to cats take this dog was very curious about this big chicken mascot [Laughter] we got some terrific bluebirds tonight from the series happy day as a matter of fact these are really practical jokes this first one for example features Ron Howard Tom Bosley erin moran Marion Ross and Henry Winkler now as you remember Marion played mrs. Cunningham she was the perfect mother as a matter of fact she acted like a mom to everyone even the ultra cool Fonzie that's why this joke that Marion and Henry played on the crew was so it was very unexpected well there's Fonzie and his trademark leather jacket Marion's in her white sweater keep an eye on it's older than you and he can take care of himself every time we leave him alone he locks himself out of the house I don't lock myself out cookies for you just for the trip so you won't get cranky some old man knocks my card over but don't go to that market I just hate that store [Laughter] Henry still not through odds [Music] now this time the joke is on Henry remember you remember how Fonzie used to you know snap his fingers and the girls came running well first Ritchie played by Ron Howard tries and then it's Fonzie Stern well as usual it doesn't work for Ritchie she founds I told you wouldn't work well I think I understand a problem it's the same detail I left out before you don't have a reputation for this either right now cheer up you're working on it it takes time now Henry's expecting all the girls to come running you know it's mrs. Wong from The Fresh Prince to a box office King and the charisma that's made him a major movie star was on display in his series Fresh Prince of bel-air now we asked Welles co-star in the series a very talented man Alfonso Ribeiro to tell us about some of the bloopers that he was a part of ladies and gentlemen this is Alfonso Ribeiro had a lot of good times on The Fresh Prince set you might remember that in that show we'll used to bang on me a lot that was both in the script and in real life like in the first blooper I ended my line with the word here and I pronounced it in a kind of a funny way now I was hoping nobody would notice but he of course well did I told you we shouldn't have left Luther here I told you we should've left Lula here brothers and sisters I told you we're shouldn'ta level Allah he now in one episode we'll had a romance going with Kim fields they were her stood several times but this is something that never happened in rehearsal watch this come on just give me a minute okay I want to put something special on for you and I promise it'll be worth the way now keep your eyes on Kim fields skirt now in this scene my character Carlton is whipping up something in the blender in the script will is supposed to walk in with a rolled-up newspaper watch me for a few seconds and then SWAT me in the arm with the newspaper now that's my cue to turn off the blender now the trouble starts because the blender has a mind of its own here comes will there's a SWAT I can get it to turn off I'm pushing every button on the panel of course we'll enjoy looking everywhere for help or for someone to yell cut finally Joseph Marcell has the solution here we go again this time the blender stops before we'll have the chance to swap [Music] now this time I ignore the buttons I'm gonna pull the plug of course wills unexpected that wanna keep going then I see wills face Lowell decides to do his next line anyway what is that anyhow though sure we're good times on The Fresh Prince set there's only one thing that bothers me whatever happened to well I'm sure he's found work somewhere girl ladies yelling Thank You Roger we'll be right back going away next those blooper footage number one [Music] [Applause] [Music] this next book will was picked by a live phone in vote as the favorite blooper of all time it's a Jim it's a sketch that happened on The Carol Burnett Show and Tim Conway is telling a scripted story about two Siamese elephants now if that's if that's not enough Tim keeps embellishing upon it with it a lot of while I'm really strange ad-libs now watch the casma this is a this is a classic take a look at this this is the third time Tim started his store and he keeps making it different every time and the cast is doing all I can not to break up that's a Carol next to Tim Vicki Lawrence's mama and a Dick Van Dyke on the end that this freak show on tamanna I saw these Siamese elephants [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Laughter] now Tim's trying to get himself together so he can keep going [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we're joined at the end of their chunks like that this trainer make him stand up on their back feet like cutting their head their trunk stretch like that and this little monkey it come out walk out there and dancing merengue con felt sorry for me I couldn't go [ __ ] the other elephants when they go all I can do it just blow and go north [Applause] [Music] when it's TV others Ice King [Applause] in a moment Carol's gonna say gold mama and Vicky's gonna talk to him looking ahead live hey it's been a great 20 years we hope to be bringing you more shows for at least another twenty more years in the meantime watch for our next all new edition of bloopers and who knows we may discover a brand new classic we'll see you then for now Dick Clark [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause]
