moments that have happened in our life this moment which is the reality which nobody can deny even those who say that we are we have come from apes even those who say we created ourselves even those who don't believe in allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala they cannot deny this moment even those people they have denied everything and yet they cannot deny this moment Ronnie I'm talking about the moment of ending is going to be and the scholars of Islam they would say that it doesn't matter about my deeds it doesn't matter about all of my deeds the only thing that matters is the deed that I died upon because that is the deed that I'm going to be resurrected upon and if that is good then when I am resurrected I'm going to be resurrected in the obedience of allah subhanahu wata'ala but if that deed is bad then it doesn't matter about all of my good deeds because i died on an evil ending so when i am resurrected i'm going to have an evil resurrection how did they come to this conclusion why did they say this because the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam he told us in an authentic hadith that a person he may be doing the deeds of the people of the house fire until there is just an arm's length between him and the Hellfire and then the decree of allah subhanahu wata'ala take comes over him and so he dies on the deeds of the people of Jannah and so he enters into Jannah o my dear brothers this is where these scholars this is why they say I may be doing the deeds and then the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said that a person may be doing the deeds of jannah until there is just an arm's length between him and that paradise but then the decree overtakes him there is some evil in his after it in his Ikeda there is some evil in his own soul and he is just an arm's length from paradise he could almost smell the fragrance of paradise but then the decree overtakes this person and he dies and he does the deeds of the people of the Hellfire and he dies on that deed and so he enters into the Hellfire this is why the scholars would say it doesn't matter about all of my deeds that have gone previously as long as my final deed which I am resurrected upon is good then everything else is fine be a vanilla eater Allah awanee this is a moment which we don't like to think about when there's a group of people sitting together and somebody brings up the topic of death immediately people they look away or they turn their faces away or they change the subject or they say to this person why are you being so morbid why are you being so depressing why don't we talk about something else let's live it up as they say and so these people they don't like to remember death but the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he told us remember often the destroyer of pleasures remember often the destroyer of pleasures what does this mean that a person he indulges in pleasure after pleasure after pleasure and he doesn't remember the affero and so when death comes it destroys those pleasures when death comes it cuts those pleasures off so the prophet sallallaahu alayhi wasalam he said remember often the destroyer of pleasures he also said that this dunya is signal not minhwa genital care field it is the prison of a believer this dunya is the prison of a believer and a paradise for the non-muslim how is this the case because as Muslims we are confined within the Sharia of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala we have to stay within those limits but the disbeliever the non-muslim he doesn't believe that he's going to be held accountable by allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala so it's like a gender for him he does whatever he likes he worships his own desires and puts them first whatever his own soul desires he goes out and he commits that action if one in a soul leaves his body and he described in vivid detail the journey that this person's soul will take no other prophet or messenger described in this much detail there is no comparison to what islam Muslim he has a good evil sari he has a good soul and he has a good ending the other situation which were going to compare it to is how the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam mentions the ending which is an evil ending the ending of that evil person the non-muslim the person who just indulged his soul saw the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam he mentioned this he says that when the moment of death comes for a Muslim and I want you to imagine this now and as I mentioned the hadith I'm going to try and give us a picture so that we can imagine ourselves in this situation so imagine yourself in this situation now the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasalam he described the good ending the Muslim who strived to please Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala he says salallahu alaihe wasalam that when his moment of death comes angels with bright faces angels with bright faces they descend and they sit in front of him for as far as his eye can see so now you imagine this my dear brother and sister you are sitting or you are lying in your hospital bed you're lying in your hospital bed and your loved ones are all around you your friends are all around you your children are all around you they are reading Quran some are making Dada some are crying some have just this element of complete emotionless they don't they have no emotions on their faces because of what they see in front of them you you're their beloved one you are lying there completely helpless and so you see something you feel something you hear the machines behind you flatline the beeps start going the doctors start coming in but this is your moment of death and you can't escape and so you see angels with faces like the Sun bright as the Sun and they descend and they sit in front of you for as far as your eye can see for as far as your eye can see in the distance they are everywhere and they are bringing with them a beautiful musk a beautiful scent and they are bringing a shroud from Jenna so imagine now you've seen something which only you can see and you try shouting out to your family members look at this look at this can you see but your tongue is not moving now before that tongue you used to make membranes of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala you read Quran you sought knowledge and you spread that knowledge you said the good words this is that tongue and you can't use it right now and the angels they descend and they sit in front of you for as far as your eye can see but you're still a little bit scared at this moment you've never seen them and then Malakal moat the Angel of Death Comes and he sits at your head and now this is the crunch time what is he going to say the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he told us that this angel he comes and he sits at this person's head and he says o good soul o pure soul come out to the forgiveness of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and his reward come out you are going to be forgiven by allah you are going to be rewarded by allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala imagine imagine your relief when you hear those words there are lots of Han who were to honor the one who created me the one who sent down this Quran the one who sent the prophets and messengers with the religion of truth worship Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala don't commit any don't associate any partners with allah they all came with the same message and you followed that message imagine hearing that the lord of the heavens and the earth is pleased with you imagine hearing that the lord of the heavens and the earth is going to forgive you imagine hearing that allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala is going to reward you imagine your relief at that moment so the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam he goes on and he describes how the person's soul leaves his body and he says the way a drop of water leaves the mouth of a jug this is how easily that person soul leaves his body so imagine you have a jug of water and you just go and the water just pours out of that jug it's so smooth and it's so easy this is the way that person his soul leaves his body because he knows I'm coming out to the forgiveness of Allah he knows I'm coming out to the mercy of Allah he knows I'm coming out to the reward of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and so his soul leaves his body in a very smooth easy fashion and then the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he says that the Angel of Death he doesn't have the person's soul for even the blinking of an eye but the other angels they take it off him they shroud him with the shroud from paradise they embalming with the sense from paradise and they rise up to the first heaven and there they knock on the doors of the first heaven and they ask permission to enter and the angels who are inside the heaven they say who is it that seeks to enter and then these angels they will call you by your best names they will say this is so-and-so the son of so-and-so and then they will give you the best titles that people called you in this dunya so if you were generous and the people said he is the generous one if you were somebody who was patient they will say the patient one if you are somebody who helped out your Muslim brothers and sisters when they were in need they will say the one who used to help out his Muslim brothers and sisters when they were in need the polite one the gentle one the one with good character and these angels they will honor you by all of these great titles by which you are known by in the dunya and the doors of heaven they will be opened the doors of Jannah will be opened and the angels in the first heaven they will ascend with you through until you reach the second heaven and then they will bid you farewell and then the angels in the second heaven will ascend with you until you reach the third heaven and then they will bid you farewell and all of the angels will continue to ascend with you until you reach a loss of Hannah who attire you reach the seventh heaven above which is a loss of Hannah who were to Allah and then Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala will say right my slaves name in Alien this is the book with in which all of those pure souls the martyrs the prophets and the messengers the truthful the scholars the pious the patient all of their names are written in this book so allah subhanahu wata'ala will say write my slaves name in this book and then Allah will order return my slave to the earth because from there I created him and from there I shall resurrect him this is the beautiful pure ending for that good soul this is the good ending and may allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala give us an ending similar to this now let's contrast it with the ending of that evil soul the evil ending mentioned in the same hadith straight after the prophet salallahu alaihe wasalam mentioned the good ending he mentioned the evil ending he says that when the when death comes to this Muslim to this evildoer to the sinner to this oppressor to this non-muslim to this kafon whatever he is when death comes to this person and take notes take notes because this ending can come if your name is Muhammad this ending can come to you if your name is ibrahim this ending can come to you don't think that because you have a Muslim name you are safe from this evil ending no if you're a leader is not correct if you are somebody who always indulged in sin if you turned away from the remembrance of Allah if you continually disobeyed Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala then how do you know that you will not be amongst these people so the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he describes this ending and he says angels descend with black evil faces scary faces and they descend and they sit in front of that person for as far as his eye can see so now let's compare this moment let's imagine this moment you're on your hospital bed your loved ones are all around you your mother your father your brother your sister your friends they are all around you those people who when you needed something in the dunya you turn to those people and those people were there for you all of them are all around you and you see this site and it absolutely sends terror running through your spine it terrorizes you you see these angels descending and you know that they're coming for you black faces scary faces a foul smell a shroud from the Hellfire and you know that they're coming for you they are coming for you and nobody can help you you try and run away but you have no energy to move off the hospital bed the machines are beeping in the background the doctors are rushing in the nurses are rushing in doing whatever they can but you flatline your heart monitor just flatlines now you are going to return to allah subhanahu wata'ala so these angels they descend and then al malikul mote the Angel of Death he comes and he descends and he sits at this person's head he sits at this person's head and he says o evil soul Oh evil soul come out to the anger of allah subhanahu wata'ala and his punishment come out to his anger and his punishment when the person's soul when the person hears this his soul tries to hide within his body it tries to hide within his body why because it knows that now I am going to meet my Creator I lived like there was no God I behaved like there was no resurrection I behaved like I was not going to be held accountable but now what allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala said is true and i am going to be held accountable for my actions so his soul hides in his body and the angels they beat this person they beat this person and they rip his soul from his body the way the prophets on the long way I know he was a lonely disc he said it's like a many hooked iein skewer so imagine this skewer with many many hooks on it and if you passed it through wet wool it would rip that wet wool to shreds this is the way when his soul is ripped from his body it rips his insides to shreds it causes so much pain he wants to scream but he has no strength to scream so the angel rips his soul from his body and then the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said that the angels who are accompanying him the Angel of Death he doesn't have that person's soul for even the twinkling of an eye except that the other angels they come and they shroud him they shroud him with the shroud of hellfire and there emits from him the most foul stench worse than any stench in this dunya imagine that smell of meat you leave it for 10 days just leave it out and the Flies are flying all over it the smell is unbearable the smell is unbearable but the person's soul at that moment that evil soul the smell is worse than that will lie and so the Angels they ascend they ascend to the gates of the first heaven and they knock on those doors and they seek permission to enter and the Angels inside they ask who is it that seeks to enter into this paradise this level of paradise and the angels they will say this is so-and-so the son of so-and-so and then they will call you by the worst names that people called you by the stingy one the one who can't control his anger the one who his character is bad the one who sleeps too much the one who eats too much whatever it might be however people humiliated you in the dunya the angels are going to humiliate you in that level up there and entry is not going to be granted to this person and then allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala is going to order and his soul is going to be dropped is going to be dropped from that great height until it reaches into back into this earth Akane this is a moment and this description which the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam has given this is going to happen to each and every single one of us it's going to be one or it's going to be the other there is no middle ground you either have a good ending or you have a bad ending each and every single one of us here today and indeed each and every single one of the children of adam' we are all on a journey now I'm going to give you an example so that we can better imagine this journey imagine we are traveling in a group all of us we are traveling in a group together and we stop somewhere unexpectedly we make a stop and the group leader he says prepare your things because we are going to be leaving but he doesn't say when you are leaving he says be ready for when we leave be ready for when we leave if you get left behind then we are not going to wait for you so the Muslim he is the one when he stops the first thing that he does is he gathers his provisions that he needs for the next leg of his journey so he rushes and he takes his provisions and he says I'm preparing for when the group leader comes and he says now we are leaving so he gathers all of his things and then the group leader comes unexpectedly he comes and he says everybody up now we are leaving so the Muslim he is ready to leave the Muslim has all of his provisions ready and now he is ready to leave he's happy to leave because he wants to go on to the next leg of his journey what about the other person when the group leader says right we are resting here for a while he sits back he relaxes he does whatever he wants because he says I will prepare tomorrow I will prepare tomorrow I get my provisions ready for tomorrow and then unexpectedly the group leader comes and he says right everybody up we are leaving this person says give me one more day give me one more day I haven't got my provisions ready for the next leg of my journey give me one more day and I'll go and I'll rush and I'll get my things quani this journey that we are on that point where we stop this is this dunya that group leader is the Angel of Death and our end destination is the Athena are we of those people who in this life we are getting our provisions ready for our next leg of the journey or are we like those people who when the angel of death comes to take our souls we say no just give me one more day give me respite for one more moment so that I can get my provisions ready for the next leg of this journey look what Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala says in surah al munafa porn and I'm just going to read the English translation o you who believe do not let your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of allah and whosoever does that then they are the losers and spend of that with which we have provided you before death comes to one of you and then he says my lord if only you had given me respite for a little while then I should have given sadaqa and I would have been amongst the righteous and Allah grants respite to nobody when his appointed time comes and allah is all-aware of what you do allah subhanahu wata'ala is telling us in Surah Al Manar fiyaquun' the surah which is entitled the hypocrites o you people be ready take your provisions from this life until death comes to one of you and he says o Allah just give me one more moment and then Allah says nobody is going to be given an extra moment nobody is going to be given even an extra second when his moment of death comes to him so if one e weenie to be like those people we need to be like the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam he sent to a melody Allahu Ahad he said oh I'm up be in this world as if you are a traveler be in this world as if you are traveling and the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam he said about himself my example is like the example of somebody who is on a journey and he rests under a tree for a little while and then he continues on with the rest of his journey in Hwanhee the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasalam he was telling us that he is just resting he's just like somebody in this dunya just like he's resting for a little while because he knows that he has to carry on with the rest of his journey even a malady Allah and he used to say in the evening do not expect that you will see the morning and in the morning do not expect that you will see the evening this is the attitude of those companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam radi allahu anhu my domain and know that your moment of death it is written my dear brothers and sisters you are not going to be able to delay it for even a split second how many stories have we heard subhanAllah and I'll just relate one story to you in Riyadh there was a brother working on a construction site and I'm sure many of you have heard this story he was working on a construction site and he was many stories in the air their building was many stories high and this person he fell from this great heights and subhanAllah he survived because his moment of death was not written so as a celebration he said Allah has kept me alive I'm going to buy all of my companions some drinks and subhanAllah he crossed the road and there he was run over and there he died his fall from that great height was simply a means for him to take his appointment with the angel of death nowadays when we make an appointment we can cancel it we can delay it we can just not turn up but if whiny each and every single one of us has an appointment with the Angel of Death this as an appointment which you will not be able to delay this is an appointment which you cannot cancel this is an appointment which you must attend and nobody knows when his appointed time is going to come finally I'm going to mention some things for our younger brothers for our younger brothers many people they hear these a hadith they hear about the good ending they hear about it's okay I mean you know the decree will overtake me I'll do the deeds of the people of paradise and I'll die on that when death comes to me I'll say la ilaha illaallah and I'll be in Jannah I ask you brothers you listen to music on your phones you listen to music in your cars you listen to music on your pcs on your iPods on your iphones you listen to the words of Chabon do you think at that moment of death the words of allah subhanahu wata'ala are going to come into your mind when you see what you see and your tongue is not used to remembering Allah at that moment you won't even be able to remember anything except the way you lived your life the way you lived your life is the way you are going to die so many stories this person was known for listening to music he was known for listening to music at the moment of his death they had caught an playing there was recitation of the Quran he was known for listening to music but at the moment of his death they were playing Quran and he said turn it off turn the Quran off turn the music on because this is what brings me comfort and he died listening to music as the person was known for playing chess they said to him say la ilaha illaallah he said checkmate and he died upon that evil statement honey the way that you live your life the is the way that you are going to die my dear brothers and sisters you want to be like those football players you want to be like those movie stars they are your role models they are your role models so then you are going to follow them the way they died you follow them the way that they lived you are going to follow them the way that they died this is a call for each and every single one of us here to remember our moment of death to remember that moment when we we will leave all of our possessions we will leave all of our loved ones and we will go from this life into the Athena so I ask Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala to make us of those people who we understand the true reality of this life and I asked Allah subhana WA Ta'ala to give us a good pure ending and I ask Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala to resurrect us with the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the martyrs and the scholars and the pious and the shoot truthful and what a good company they are Subhan Allah whom I will be handed a shadow Allah Allah Allah and Esther felucca what I do
