Davinci Resolve 17.4.1 - Perfect Green Screen in Seconds

all right now to start off obviously grab your green screen footage and you just drag it into your timeline now you can see here generic green screen footage i'm about ready to start talking there we go the best way now and this is way better than it was in previous versions of davinci resolve before this latest update go to the color tab now it was easiest and best to do in the color tab before but now it's even easier right off the bat here go over into this area with this graph or whatever you want to call it add alpha output and connect this first off that's the first thing you're going to want to do from the blue square to this blue circle over here now make sure you click on this dropper part here then you go over here and click on this dropper and it'll bring up to look like this page now you're ready to start drawing on over here i always start off with one of the darker areas first it'll make it easier and now they've made it easy to where you can literally see the colors going away as you draw over now get any spot that that doesn't get taken out if it turns white that means it got taken out you can go over your blue line again if you want to or whatever do not go over the person or any of the things you do not want to eliminate now right here there's a little bit darker spot i want to get rid of so go very carefully there and that's probably good enough now you see it's actually the inverted of what you want to do these little arrows with the white dot and the unfilled dot that will reverse that and then boom the green screen is gone and it's looking pretty good but you if you zoom in on this stuff you can see there's some green right around the edges here take this d spill and just take it all the way to the right and whoop all that green goes away it is that easy sorry my face looks so stupid right there for a second but then is it going you can see it's going and looking perfectly fine and i will take a background image real quick and just stick it right behind my guy here right behind myself and zoom it in just so you can see perfect looking green screen here in different resolve that fast

Don't even need to do it in the color page or fusion page anymore. The 3D keyer is great and available in the edit page.

stop telling people to do keying on the color page. This leads to a lot of people having issues when they do transformation on the edit page inspector afterwards.

use OFX in the timeline or do it in Fusion
