look at that look at that look at that look at that we got one going here too [Music] i tell you what guys outside of an occasional boat wake it's slick as glass out here dead quiet water's flat there's no wind at least not yet uh so i'm anchored up i decided to come out here uh middle of the lake on the channel edge got a lot of arches in here a lot of marks there's a lot of stuff around i don't know if they're feeding i don't know if they're active uh but there's a lot of stuff out here decided to anchor up on this channel edge i've got shallow water to one side or shallow world water i should say and i'm sitting right here on the lid sitting in about 25 feet of water drops off to about 35 got him up here on the slope up and uh got normal spread six raw or eight rods in the water four with chicken four with perch four on sandy rigs four on carolina rigs i've got everything split up evenly and i've got two suspended about four cranks off the bottom straight underneath the boat so we've got everything covered we're gonna see if they bite uh like i said water's uh dropping they're dropping the lake it's crested from its uh floods are from its high water it didn't really get the flood stage but uh it's crested uh so it's on its way down they're trying to draw it down for work they're doing on the dam so uh i don't think it's gonna be a rapid drop today but it's on its way down so uh we're gonna sit here a while give it a good soak see what we get there it goes there it goes there it goes right there boom hooked up hooked up finally i have been dragging a long ways i finally got hooked up on a fish i probably been pulling for about an hour probably been fishing for three hours four hours without a fish i just got hooked into one it feels like a decent fish it's on the catfish pro reel and rod and this is on a chicken bait a drag through here started back over there some birds and some other life and man just pull pull pull this fish is right next to the river channel ironically where i was anchored up for two hours this morning never had a bike could be i was in the wrong place could be these fish want some moving baits could be you just got to hit him in the head with it guys this is acting like a larger fish it just kind of went where it wanted to go get this other rod out of the way here just to make playing this fish a little bit easier i think i'm gonna need a net see the arch she's on the bottom about 20 feet down up to about 15 i can see it on the sonar it's a good arch say arch it's a good signature roll him over here oh dip in there dip in there come out sucka there we go but i am in the boat he's nowhere near as big as i thought he was probably a lot heavier than he is anyway i thought he was a lot heavier than he is but we'll take him nice a good solitainer you sucker oh pop the hook out i was lucky chicken baby chicken chicken winner winner chicken dinner winner winner chicken dinner there he is got him pretty fish pretty fish on the chicken bait let's get them back alive yeah today is one of those days out on the water that leaves you scratching your head man i've covered a lot of water uh i've dragged baits a long way anchored in some good places mark some fish i just ain't getting no takers i'm got one but i rode around for a while threw the net caught some shad rode into a few places the bigger arches are out there at the river channel that's that area i drifted and anchored on so i decided to come make one last drift right here at dark blind and what i mean by that is i'm dragging an area i ain't marking a lot of fish in uh sometimes if you have these blue cats laid up in the mud you're not going to see them on sonar so that's what the deal is here um one last pull i got my chicken out on this side of the boat on the uh port side starboard side i got some shad out gizzard chad so i'm gonna make a drag through here probably got about an hour of light left maybe we'll hook into something a lot of debris in the water through here uh it just is what it is you have days like this at least the skunks out of the boat but i'd like to uh i'd like to finish strong there it is guys there it is there he is there he is oh getting ready to go i think he's got the bait yeah the uh lines are going that way i looked up and seen this one going that way we know that's a good sign this is a shad it's on the shad side of the boat i think this was a whole shad as a matter of fact got a fish man i'm happy to get one beautiful beautiful sunset going on here nice to get on a fish man it's not a monster sorry but a bike it's a blind bite too that's the interesting thing there it is good fish oh i'm lucky if i'm lucky i'm gonna get my bait back oh robbed in my debate nice eater fish i kept my eaters yesterday got me a bunch good looking fish back a lot violent violent violent i'm gonna throw this bait back out there this bait may catch another fish i hate to be cheap i'm gonna be cheap they're back in the water that is the first one i've got on shad in a while uh maybe that's the ticket down here i don't know uh we had to get a bite though glad to get a bite uh like i said i'm not marking a lot of fish through here i'm really not marking anything through here this is kind of a blind drift it's covering kind of some points some humps and it's going to blow me right into the mouth of a creek so i figure it's good water uh if there's any fish around but like i said there's just not a lot that i'm marking normally i don't fish where i don't mark anything but when the bite is really really bad like i said sometimes those fish can be laid up in the mud inactive for whatever reason and uh you know you can hit them so that's kind of the plan i've checked everywhere i've checked deep water like i said most of the arches right there on the deeper stuff i just don't know if they're inactive because we've had so much water moving or the drop in the water water hadn't dropped that much so i'm not going to blame it on that it's like i've said before we've got uh excuses when we catch them and excuses when we don't catch them so i'm just fishing i got probably the time it is i probably got about 45 minutes left so if i'm lucky i'll put one more in the boat got one going down another shed bait shad making a comeback maybe sad maybe a shad maybe that's what the ticket is maybe these suckers won't shed over the perch huh could be you think so might be this could be what we're looking for another fish about the same size we will take him oh muddy water that gum is muddy let's work him up here to the edge of the boat boom there we go got him don't shake down shake pop that old hook out okay that's how you want i ain't getting no bigger but we're catching them and no bigger but we're catching them hello world get in the suntan pow bang there you go man son's creeping on down ain't that too much longer uh catching fish they i don't know what's up i don't know if i've hit the magic place or what or if it's just the time of day and they're starting to feed but been some fish in a boat they're not huge but man after all the fishing i've done today i fished so long to have one fish and then all of a sudden get on these right here at the end so just making a slow drag uh i'm only doing i don't even have the trolling motor and i'm relying on the wind wind's starting to die right here at dark so uh i'm just barely moving about point 1.2 and i guess i'm just hitting some in the head so a little while longer see if i can get one more look at that look at that look at that look at that we got one going here too i don't know which one to go to first which one's bigger we got one on chicken we got one on this on uh shaft which one i go to first this one looks bigger let's go with it i don't know though he's swimming all swimming off i don't think he's bigger the chicken rod went off first and i started to go to it he may be in this line this line here is slack can't tell if he's over into that one or not man right here at dark that's a small fish they've either started biting yeah if i'm into this line i don't know if that chicken one's still on or not to check it and see yeah and get him in here boom come off of that baby sir i don't know if that one stayed buttoned or not get him off of there they're all cookie cutter fish man they're all about the same size happy to get a few here at the end though get that one back in see what we got here mess wise boom he is there he is there i think he was just going for an uber ride he was just kind of like coming down the following the boat i think he may be in that other line there there he is man beautiful way to end the day i'll say that i think he's lassoed ah thought he was bigger there he goes i think he got untangled when they get lassoed and wrapped it's easy to lose them i'm not sure he may be in another line let's see here hey yep he's in another line yeah stay right there simmer simmer simmer ouch there we go man ah someone sama that's a little one or smaller than that let go my thumb let go trying to eat my thumb we're catching them i tell you what folks i was wondering there for a minute if uh all of a sudden shad was the bait to have it was like boom boom boom real quick some fish on chad and uh here on the last couple uh the chicken has made a comeback uh that is check my counter i believe fish number six that's the drink can we don't need the drink yet we need the fish counter yep click that one fish number six we got them three apiece freon shad three on chicken so uh i got a little time left like i was saying that uh sun over there is kind of the uh telltale sign of exactly how quickly these fish are getting put in the boat maybe i get a couple more got plenty of room i think i'm going to run out of light before i run out of a drifting room so maybe another one if not i ended on a high note pretty good day got another one going on the chicken i feel like about the same class of fish i don't know guys either a i found the magic spot or b i found the magic time i have not found the magic big fish but i found fish all of a sudden i'm putting a whole bunch of fish in the boat the uh sun that big orange thing over there it's kind of the indicator as to exactly how quick i am catching these fish get out of the drift side get out of the dress like get out of the dress like gotti this one is actually smaller than the other ones get around that another chicken bait yep there we that lifting go boom oh and we lassoed him up in the takedown rope off the dress sock nice nice nice we got a tie now i thought that uh let you have that bait i'm nice guy all right folks i'm running out of daylight it's creeping on down there may have time for one more i'm gonna keep dragging uh just a little bit longer but man that's what six fish in the boat uh we got an even split between the two and uh half chicken half on shaft and uh i think it's uh six maybe seven i don't know i'm losing track man i've caught so many fish here in the uh last hour that it's hard to keep up with but good day amazing day on the water it's just goes to show you sometimes you just gotta keep on digging you gotta cover water and i've covered a lot of water today tried a lot of different stuff and this was uh something i rode right past by the way coming out uh the ramp that i put in at is right back over there rode right past this were the fish here then who knows it's it's hard to say but i want to try some stuff mark fish at the river channel i haven't marked anything there i've been looking at this sonar not seeing a thing on it so that just goes to show you that sometimes when you mark a whole lot of stuff it's not exactly the best fishing and that's the case here i have not marked a i mean there would be a fish here and there but riding through here this is not something i'd go oh i'm gonna fish here like where i started out at so you know guys that's the thing it it there's so many variables that come into play and sometimes it works out sometimes you mark fish you anchor on them you drift them you catch them it all works out sometimes you do what we just did here on this drag and fish it blind without really seeing anything and you catch fish that fish slammed it and popped right back at me there he's there he's there oh that one slammed it nice man what a beautiful sunset what beautiful time to be on the water yeah the sun's still going down guys still going down still catching fish i got to go to the other side with this one he went that away man that over there look at that isn't that pretty those beautiful clouds having a great time out here i was having a bad time earlier when i wasn't catching fish no listen folks i have a good time whether i catch them or i don't uh the fact that i'm out here and able to do this make look at the sunset look at that that's beautiful beautiful yeah you wish you catch fish but you have bad days this does make it nicer i will say that but hey the fact that i'm able to do this that's reward enough we all had bad days thought today was going to be a bad one pretty good one pretty good happy to be here if i catch a 90 i'll be even happier but i've got a lot of fish in a short amount of time here so hey look at rod bench look at that rod ben woo hoo look at that look at that look at that i like the action on these rods there you go better fish better fish better fish there he goes that is going to be the biggest fish of the day right there peeps the biggest fish of the day semi semi semi semi semicima don't tear that hook gotcha gotcha finished strong baby finished strong thought i was going to be done there thought i was going gonna be done running out of time that's a good one biggest fisher today biggest fish of the day oh yeah not a monster not a monster in the teens long body he's got a 19 19-pound head and a 16-pound body well thank you okay look at that look at fish look at that sunset we got a sunset there look at that over there put him up against that sky man life is good no reason to complain here having a good time thank you lord that's a
