This Catfish Bait Continues to Amaze Me

keep on drifting getting ready to change place just kind of been pulling here for a while i haven't had another bite so uh there goes one right there folks you can't make this up folks this is two trips within uh about the past four days where i've had on a long sleeve t-shirt in the morning little chilly these mornings have been like 58 59 60 degrees which is really nice it's that first in a fall now while i'm fishing i'm also doing a little side-by-side test some more of the chicken and strawberry jell-o against some white perch just trying it out to see if there's any comparison today out here dragging around i'm gonna drift all day is what i'm gonna be doing i'm just gonna be hitting some spots covering some water seeing what the bite looks like boom we got an eater and guess what it's on chicken made a long pull down through here this one is all kinds of round stuff a decent fish this one actually is on chicken believe it or not i've got all my chicken rods on the port side and i need to be careful because i just moved one of my percherovs to the chicken side you got to keep up with this folks it's a scientific study of the utmost importance you think figuring out a cure for cove it's tough try to keep track of whether you catch more fish on chicken or perch that's real science no seriously that one slammed maybe i've been drifting here for maybe 45 minutes came down the river channel nothing in it came up out of it poof i'm onto the flat decent fish get it in the boat here there is no denying what that was caught on oh got him in the boot nice fish simmer simmer simmer there's a chicken right there is she going away oh yeah 14 pounder nice man 14 pounder look at that good looking fish it's on the chicken man he can't make this up fish yeah guys uh i'm making this up huh it's not just a it started out as kind of a joke when i did the first video with the chicken and uh i was doing it kind of ha we're fishing with grocery store bait and i caught fish caught fish like that and it's progressed to where i've got some other buddies that are guides now that are using it and catching fish with it now you're going to catch a world record with it i don't know i got a video from the other day after the 35 pound fish in the boat that's on the tournament winning end on this lake so uh you can catch good fish with it you can catch good fish we'll leave it at that there you go guys there's one fish in the boat uh that was a long pull i covered a lot of water uh probably a half mile of water before i got bit came through some river channels some channel leads some flat and that one was coming up out of it so i guess the best way to describe this area is i don't have a lot of confidence in it uh there's not a lot of fish i'm not working a lot in the sonar so what i'm gonna do is uh reel everything in uh make a run down the lake see what else i can find just sat down and was going man where's the biting fish and then i heard that telltale sign of zitzit it's a decent fish folded the rod over guess what it's on yep chicken port side starboard side sorry starboard chicken strawberry starboard chicken it's a good fish it's a good fish dragon river channel trying that just to see we've got some still 83 degree water seeing if the i know there's no thermocline left because of uh come on all the water being stirred up so maybe they're in some deeper stuff we'll see i'm marking fish deep i have not had a ton of bites but i'm marking fish deep this one feels like a teenarish and we'll see it's a blue tell you that by the way it's rolling this fish guys is on the pc fun reel it's their 50 chaos one i've been trying out let's get a little real for the money wow that's a good fish good fish if i nurse it up here oh somebody should have netted him no denying this chicken i missed it missed it i want the chicken but i got the fish puff just like that you got a good fish in the bait it ain't gonna win big fish for a tournament but you would definitely want it in the boat simmer you so rude good fish good fish yeah nice g-bag in the water thank you for coming up here and showing everybody what you look like wow there you go guys that's two double digit fish both come on chicken so far he knocked it all over there and put a fresh piece on that was a deep water fish so all right guys i think we got another one going on the rod i just put back out yep it's on there smaller fish for the fish yeah it's a smaller fish this may even be a channel cat we'll see that uh last one was a good fish that was a nice one nice one and this one is on chicken too perch is still out there get fresh white perch and this would be a channel cat oh popped off right there at the boat pow that's all right tell me guys i don't know why i'd love to know the science behind it but it works now would i fish the tournament with it if i was fishing it i don't know i don't know i like having fresh shad i like having fresh perch i like having what's in the water but that stuff catches fish and there goes another rod on it right there that is a better fish that is a better one you can't make this up guys you can't make this whoa whoa whoa simmer down some of it down that one went over right at the same time again this is on chicken it's a better fish would i use it i don't know if for some reason fisher hit it i don't know if it's something with the fat content i don't even know if the jello plays a part i talked to a buddy last night that's a guide that has started actually using it since i've done these videos and he's thinking there may be something with the color i don't know if fish don't encounter that much red and blood out there so i don't know i don't know i think there's something chemically with the either the proteins they're sensing or something i don't know i don't know maybe it mimics the muscles the makeup of the muscles that are in here i don't know who knows all i know is should i lift this in he's a little bit too heavy to lift in get him with the baby grip wow okay good heater size fish pull that back out there we go good looking fish good looking fish i'm chicken guys there you go guys uh that's five fish in the boat definitely a more consistent bite uh further here down the river at least it appears maybe they're just biting later in the morning who knows but it's definitely a better bike than where i started out at all right guys i think i got one going actually on perch believe it or not finally boom there he is that's hooked y'all went on to punch fish so we got off this stuff here i think it's off that line there we go yeah we're sitting there re-baiting re-stacking some stuff i noticed this rod kind of moved off to one side and sure enough it's a fish look at that finally got one on the perch i know they eat this stuff guys i know they do just for whatever reason they're hitting the chicken heavy i don't know if it's time of the year who knows what it is just know it's working it's working right now it's gonna be interesting to see how this stuff plays out the rest of the year catching fish there he is oh that's one in the teens whoa jack another decent fish here we go lazy summer 15 pounds good fish nice one how are you doing there good fish guys back alive all right guys what you didn't get to see a lot of there was a massive pull down and some line coming off of a rod it was on the perch head the big bait it looked like a good fish i was moving some stuff around to get in position to bring the fish in and let it uh not sure what was up with that but can't count that one didn't get that one up to the boat uh didn't even actually get the rod up by the time i reached over to it it already released so a good pull down it doesn't count so keep on drifting getting ready to change place just kind of been pulling here for a while i haven't had another bite so uh there goes one right there boom folks you can't make this up was literally getting ready to go make a move i got hit i can't make this up i know that almost looks staged but i literally was just getting ready to pull some rods up and move well that happened decent fish decent fish this one is on a piece of perch by the way so i think this fish may look bigger than he is he may be wrapped it's on top of the water see what happens here some kind of stained water here still from the uh i say flooding it's not really flooding the high water we had from the rain just drove our lake levels up a lot still moving it through it's a good fish this is a good fish not a monster monster but a good good fish nice one nice one nice one good day good day good day oh got it good fish good high tiner nice one these guys i like that i like that take that one back in the lake yeah guys i uh that was one that just good timing good timing i literally was ready to pack up and move out of here i'd make a pretty good pull probably 45 minutes without a bite uh i forgot about that one that had gotten off because i really didn't get much footage of it yeah it was literally getting ready to make a move just to go try another area and then hooked into that fish i've made a lot of drags up on some of these points and some of these flats and i'm not catching fish up there for some reason uh i'm not sure what the deal is on that but that's fishing uh it's just you got to kind of figure out what's working and what's working right now is these fish seem to be in some deeper water so uh they're either either right near the channel ledge or actually dead in the river channel itself so no thermoclines in place uh getting that time of the year where that's really gonna start to dissipate and go away and uh that's where they're at so i'm gonna keep fishing i'm gonna play this a little while longer and uh then i'll make my move after an hour and a half of fishing without a bite i actually went down the river drifted some uh more muddy water river channel stuff it was nothing man no perch uh not marking line on the sonar still decided to come to the back of a creek to finish up just said there's anything back here see if there's any bait more than anything and that's a little cleaner water it's not as stained and uh muddy dingy as the uh outer part and i'm hooked up on one that's on chicken dang channel oh bottom now see if i get him in the boat he popped off right there i was going to say he was hooked right through the bottom of his mouth chuck that bait back out there but it's uh i think that's number seven mike really started to wane uh not sure that's just time of day or what but it's on up around noon now so it's later in the day i think we got another small one on some chicken again fish number eight i'm gonna nurse it fish number eight of which most have been chicken biggest on chicken smallest on chicken most of them chicken see if this one came off i feel like he's there small fish though it's another channel kit i cannot get him to eat the purse to save my life see if this one's hooked good up he's whisker hook too he will probably flip that note he's pretty good hook in him there we go pal another channel cap that like the last one sam chicken is working the chick is pretty amazing on how many fish you can catch on this stuff that's uh six fish out of eight that came on it so that's kind of crazy that's
