CASE IH 620 QUADTRAC- HARVEST PROBLEMS

morning i don't have much of a voice today this is probably as good as it's gonna be all day so you're gonna get what you guys get too much dust not enough sleep i don't have enough of a voice to say good morning from that far away good morning everyone you ready to do some hauling darn right all right we're each going to take an empty truck down and then we'll bring a loaded one back together five to four onyx is pretty sure he shot that doe this morning so keep an eye out in both these cornfields there might be one tipped over out here okay i suppose they gotta find it before too long or the meat isn't any good isn't it that's right morning gym and this hybrid is a little bit wetter so we are going to turn up the plenum temp a bit plus it's cold out this morning so we're also going to slow the meter roll speed down [Music] i gotta bring dad the ipad for this other combine so we can record some data data data oh i just had my truck in reverse so you think it maybe sheared the the the those bolts on the unload chain and the gear should i just run down there we're only a mile away i'll just come help you see what we got all right yep bite it's the unload auger chain which was brand new this year but since he's only right down there through the frosty windshield he's just going to limp it home which the chain doesn't really slow down on the road he's going to bring it home we're going to take a look at it that was a long trip he changed his mind he wants me to go dig for some you'll see i can't talk i can't talk there it's a little quieter over here now in the old shop where we haven't moved everything over clearly which includes the chains i bet that's what we need right there oh it's one of these we got a 50 and a 50 h kit so we're taking the same backwards bob oh okay all right i'll bring these back okay good thing it's not a far drive psych what did you [Music] the do i guess yeah he's thinking he got one they keep looking for it yet that other link just broke didn't it and that jane's only got well it's got beans on it and 150 acres of corn that's it that's crazy yeah be good at all yeah i can you want me to back trying to test josh just needs a drive chain yeah let's pick it back with her uh it wouldn't hurt wait i didn't go very far i'll hold this half inch on the tensioner apparently equals an eighth inch on the chain do you want it back to pick up up about a week into that there don't fit well it's snug but it will make it work do you have sugar bolts in here in case you share both they're behind you i think yeah right here horrible okay i think you need more than four in a day there's something wrong i think it's 97.70 that we shared out him once a while i don't think we have on this one have we i don't know i kind of wish he hadn't brought it up i do too you need more there bud i do dang it just to hear more i witnessed chili again this morning oh it is a little bit out of the sun you just said it was perfect down there i did that nice little breeze temperature was perfect that's when i was riding your truck can you get it in from the back put that thing on the right way which way's the right way okay it spins this way i'm assuming or does it spin this way okay that well the tightener would be on the back side right this pulley's got to go this way so put your put your clothes in that way yeah there you go towards towards which towards the north towards the north so then do we have to switch it when he turns around on the end wouldn't it go the other way i don't know what you want to tighten her under pressure huh you wouldn't want the tightener on the pressure side and the pulling side right you want it the tightener behind the pressure pulling so you're saying it goes well here yeah here's a half link i'll look at this one it goes like that until it until it goes like that oh man it's a lot warmer in the sun right i know that sun's got the power yet we could probably drive over that i'll follow you over there then before i leave with the tools oh okay all right [Music] false alarm just got a call from dad chain broke again something's got to be going on but i'll grab the tools we need one down there yes sir i got the tools for the chain again but wonderful what do you think's going on well we're gonna have to fix it and check and see watch it when he unloads us yeah there's either something crooked a bearing out or something that's breaking that chain like that yeah something's causing it well i got the stuff i'll see you down there okay you guys saw the process once so i won't make you go through it again but we're gonna have to figure out what's causing it because the odds of that breaking twice in a row like that or something's going on what did you do broke it again we just fixed that there must be something pulling hard huh something's gotta be get it fixed get the pink empty and see what happens it empty the second time emptying it second time only yeah something on there wrong or something i don't i doubt it i mean the odds of us screwing that up would be awfully slim it's pretty simple though right she gonna hold together this time you don't want to answer that honestly do you hey you're out of the way go yeah you want to place bets on it god i hope together this time it all looks fine yeah i don't see anything wrong [Music] i don't know we'll uh we'll see if we break another one we're gonna have to go get a different chain and try that because we don't see anything else wrong the bearings are all fine i don't know i'm gonna go see if i can have some fun now but i'm gonna leave all the tools and the chain supplies in the truck here that way it'll ensure that we don't break anymore better get a moisture sample out of this thing first perfect welker didn't eat all the pizza we bought them yesterday so i'll eat some lunch even cold pizza is just so good it's time to go get some stuff done [Music] almost killed me man that red leather smells good if you guys are confused about what's going on right now you need to go back and watch the last video it's true we have a brand new case ih 620 quadtrac afs connect steiger on the farm it's pretty cool we've also got a case ih 475 speed tiller behind the thing that we're gonna go out and pull this thing's gonna be similar to other situations in the past where this demo is gonna be around for a few days you guys will see it in several videos i'm gonna let you know what i like and don't like about it and we're gonna have some fun i'm really excited about this here's where we ran with the speed tiller yesterday for a while or last night it did a pretty doggone decent job of chopping everything up and mixing it well and turning it relatively black as well but still enough residue on top to cover the ground the way we want out here you guys see that a couple of coyotes bouncing around in the field but they can run faster this tractor can go but they probably can't run 2 300 feet per second i've said it before and i'll say it again our farm is not a total green farm it never has been we didn't have our first john deere tractor until i was probably 15 years old somewhere in there maybe 18. i didn't grow up with green underwear uh when i was in high school there was some some dealerships that kind of changed around and we ended up buying a deer tractor and we're really happy with the dealer we have that dealer does a great job so it just kind of we grew into the green stuff um but actually grandpa was a massey ferguson dealer when i was younger and an oliver dealer i grew up driving whites dad had a couple of whites obviously the moline i've got a lot of time in a 33 94 case a 7120 case a 936 ford an 836 versatile we've had all kinds of tractors out here we really haven't had that much green until around the time i started youtube so i'm actually super excited to get back into a case and try this thing out and see what i like you know it's just fun to try different things out um you guys get to come with me so again once again this is here because you guys watch i sincerely appreciate that i sincerely appreciate this opportunity from case and from the comes a group of crazy people that live in my house i have been running into a fair amount of this um i've done a ton of acres this thing is 40 feet wide at 9 to 10 miles per hour so the acres getting covered is insane but i have had this happen six or eight times i will clear it out here i've never had to get out to clear anything i just basically touch the blades and back up a little and it clears and then i go forward and spread it back out again so what's happening here is that our soils are so sticky they're really high magnesium high calcium soil very very sticky they stick to your boots a lot that's why discs anything with a disc blade especially an arbor bar uh vts high speed discs like this are not real popular here right now they never really have been because they get they plug up when the soil is wet and that's that's kind of what we got going on right now as conditions are a little bit marginal you can see the soil is sticky you pick it up and it wads up and it sticks and you can just make clumps out of it that's why there's almost no no-till around here not a lot of minimum till we are all conventional tillage in this area we need these soils to dry out in the spring i like what this thing is doing i i actually love what it's doing especially if we have a dry fall like we have right now in a good spring like we had earlier this spring but we will see you know if we continue to use these types of machines if in the long run they work year in year out even when it is wetter but overall i really do love the job that the machine is doing it's just dealing with a little bit of mud sticking to these things like i say it's not that big a deal i mean i've covered like a hundred acres here which it seems like in no time just gonna take a look around a little bit more make sure everything looks good here as long as i'm out you can see there's a little bit of dirt sticking to things but it isn't terrible we wouldn't want to go any farther this stuff just it's sticky it sure is doing a good job of mixing you know it's it's turning over just these top three inches or so and really stirring in that residue to get things to break down putting those cobs under the ground pretty decent but yet it's leaving enough residue on top that it isn't going to blow all over and fill up the road ditches in the winter of course i'm a snowmobiler so i hope this is all covered with snow anyway and we don't have to worry about that it really is a sharp looking unit one of the best parts about it is it has all these handy little slider mounts that you could flip over and put anything on plus it's got this little guy right here so i can stick my magnetic camera to it see now i'm hands-free you guys have to look up my nose but that doesn't bother me just a couple statistics here we're running 40 feet wide i'm currently in 12th gear and i'm throttled back a little bit for efficiency reasons going just about 10 miles per hour got a little bit of a hill climb here we're climbing this hill at 33 gallons per hour but we're covering 42 acres once we crest over the hill and we get going down you'll watch that efficiency climb up quite a bit there we're down to come on focus there we're down in the low 20s 18 even going here still 41 acres per hour 10 miles an hour pulling it pretty nice that's gonna do it for all the acres that i can do in this field so now now i just have to remember what hydraulic does what and how i fold this thing up please don't bend anything i'm gonna park it by the diesel tanks here because it's gonna use it soon then i better go check the dryer sounds like that hasn't been checked in a while so i better get on that has it been this cold out here the whole time geez it's kind of toasty in there we're not knocking it out quite as quickly as we did yesterday but we're still getting it out and the weather's still good it's an odd thing to end up on the driveway red paint i got a feeling i know where that came from onyx would like me to sit with him in the deer stand for an hour tonight he never did find his doe by the way we'll go down there and sit for an hour see if we see anything and then i'll get back to work are you comfortable you didn't have to run away you too comfortable you ready to redeem yourself from this morning okay very can see it good with the camera going for the one broad side with her butt towards us all right just take a breather and take your time okay just go for the one standing there you ready dude just calm down i think you got her i got you i think you did it hell yeah let's go i think i got him let's go find this thing boy yeah i don't know if you got it or not but we'll go look didn't find anything must be something wrong with the gun i bet the barrel's bent [Music] are you wound up or what [Music] crazy one hey hey no those three guys are gonna head back to the field and get a couple of trucks that are out there voice isn't getting any better and i'm gonna fuel up the quad track so it's out of the way in the morning it's a little bit early to quit here but everything needs fuel in our next field that we want to go to is about eight miles south of us it's our farthest south field so i think we're gonna call it call it a night and i'll just watch the dryer and eat some macaroni and cheese in a bean bag i'm not gonna eat the bean bag i'm gonna sit in the bean bag while i eat macaroni and cheese don't judge me okay someday when i'm growing up i'll put lights back here bump and diesel this thing has crazy good lights everything's got good lights nowadays it's just it's awesome just in a few years how far lighting came give this thing another test make sure the dryer's going good and then i'm gonna go make my mac and cheese [Music]
