ladies and gentlemen welcome back to another episode of junkyard eggs today is part two of the dueling tow trucks revivals we've already completed the 7/3 powerstroke truck that was sitting here behind me you can check that out in part 1 right here so this afternoon we're going to dig into the 7/3 idi truck without further ado let's begin you guys subscribe for more wasp bites you're in for a treat one away come back okay so before there was a truck right here and all those weeds I can never actually check if this door is open I'm assuming we're locked out okay this is got Wei Zhi er yes all right I uh know this one stays locked whoa oh it's got so many switches get red yellow blue work chop PTO run this one must be the turbo boost it's unlabeled all this stuff this power supply sorry the 468 remote stroke power supply by PSE this is an air-conditioned 4x4 truck and the air conditioning in the 4x4 still appear to be in it let's dig through this cab see if we can find any spare keys laying around better only hope or see if we can find any 90s Ford's laying around wrenches yeah this is like that same sensor that was on the other truck that was replaced this one wasn't replaced though I don't worry oh good the mirror also there's a good doughnut or something right there no keys there are spare lug nuts and two lighters on the road and don't come back he'll be back in like eight seconds I'm sure of it geez more triangles we found so many triangles this weekend oh nice said beat him with this bottle when he comes back you come back around here oh but you're already back around here do it again you won't finish that later well those murder wasps I'm going down but I'm going down swinging Oh Luke on starting fluid used to be pink 2012 so this is a remote another like a remote start set it we're done is he deceased am I am i victorious oh [ __ ] original leather-bound owner's manual for a 1994 f-350 boom hey you want this to go all your fork all right no keys [ __ ] okay let's pop the hood and see what's under there at least this is a either a 6 9 or 7 3 it is a 7.3 liter turbo diesel with the factory 80s turbo whatever that means now you may recognize this because there's one that's pretty notorious that zip ties and bias plies have named the old Slave Lake quite the rig which is why I'm not too worried at all about getting this sucker fired up I know I can start it with two wires the problem is driving it our steering column and a gear selector is lot because we now have a key I know other Diesel's have them don't worry we'll figure all the plastic out throw it away later there's a PTO pump for all the hydraulics throwing it on me you know that sorry I'm trying not to all right just gonna give these front tire some air here if they'll accept it all right so we're about to make this truck have ignition without a key if I hear any of you did this illegally I will personally come kick your ass and don't use that as a way to meet me eat this I don't work what do you do just take the tilt lever off pop all these screws out and think this bottom cover off and then you ever need to change your ignition key itself also how you do that you put your key in totally forward push the pin right here pull the whole cylinder out obviously don't the key to put in to unlock it so you turn it forward so we need the result to brute force and screwdrivers and hammers cheer-off all the pins turn the COG slide it out and do it the screwdriver where we go do not steal [ __ ] you're a piece of [ __ ] if you steal [ __ ] all right carry on past the tumblers let's heard the rocker pannel fall off and then the vise grips which I forgot to bring now before you guys say anything is I know there's gonna be a bunch of people that are dumb don't understand what's happening here we're not stealing these trucks I do legally own these trucks I have titles for both of them the old guy just lost the keys for both of them okay I've gotta do this a little bit shears out it's not what's supposed to happen for sell one chrome keyring accessory there we go think that's working think I should be able to do this all the way forward fish this pin pull the whole assembly out what was this channel turn yeah you roll it all the way on this pin cylinder that cog there on the end replace that with the screwdriver and you have ignition don't steal [ __ ] don't be one of those people that just take what people work so hard to have also don't be a watch go away okay yeah that's weird it's like that off seeing that our air intake is gone I'm gonna pop this off before we do anything to make sure nothing is in here just a bunch of diesel eat poop that's good so if we haven't mentioned it before I believe this has been sitting since 2012 that was the latest date we saw on any papers inside so it's been what eight years and kind of tell by the condition of these serpentine pulleys that I I agree it's been eight years so we'll hop inside tap the key just real quick oh yeah we're not gonna have a PTO without this good call sorry so we'll hop inside so imma hop inside throw the key see if it cranks and then we'll worry about priming our fuel system getting all the poop out do you ever need a hot wire one of these by the way you just put 12 volts right here to this fuel solenoid to open the solenoid so it gets fuel and you do 12 volts do this wire on the starter solenoid that way she goes if it's warm enough to start that's not glow plugs cool plugs are over here in this solenoid alright yeah - lights iron 67,000 miles these gauges are all too familiar to the other truck we just did ping-pong broken wait to start light - come on that these trucks Oh Mike Ross this alright we're gonna use this pair of rusty scissors and this screwdriver try to prime fuel system a bit that smells like okay diesel let's uh just go for it yes I don't have a water and feel light on this one not that that means anything but this one does have a full gas cap instead of like half a gas cap like the last one it's fine I say we all right leave it on things that diesel Oh lost their primes we're gonna try to get it back around on the a little more heat there again he's on the keys [Applause] fill the fuel filter diesel do it manually okay so draining that fuel filter the diesel smoke perfect honestly I didn't get any water in it this time it wasn't in like the last one old stuff in the other truck absolutely water this one I think we're good to go so I'm going to top off the tank with a few gallons here and we're gonna go a tour again and see if it'll pump that filter full I couldn't get it off by hand or with the tools I have right now all else fails we'll go to [ __ ] around let's fill her necklace a million times with her drink up little buddy I don't know if this solenoids supposed to click or not I could probably easily google it and find out but really rapidly all right let's find the system that's why some in the comments will probably tell me we're just gonna stick to trying to do this with diesel so to avoid any knocking we're gonna have what I need to do is fire the key let the globe flows warm up and then wait a minute or two for the glow plugs to cool back off so that they don't fire this mixture early because that this is not a timed injection this is just breathing in and then I will not have any not any issues with the engines like and it doesn't want to turn so I'm just waiting right now if the Explo plugs to pull back off and then we will try to run this on ether a little bit to fill up this bowl get the fuel pump moving fuel again get everything back to where it's supposed to be all right ready [Applause] well howdy sir so we've been cranking around a bit if you give it any ether wants to lock right all right took the cap off the bottom here now it was all just these little so I just need to get this so good - hope it started cranking fine again right - just really crank crank knocks knock knock yeah that's ether not the gentle Oh closely and hot it's firing too early that and these little motors just don't like [Applause] ethers not really and shouldn't yeah I've always had like all the farmers have ever worked for like don't use ether it'll kill everything eight out of ten gentlemen it's only got low-compression I'm like she's on it yeah the only the other one only had it on like one intermittently right that's just probably the range from sitting forever maybe by a fuel pump charge batteries rather just do an inline ho just go past it yeah and just wire one end lean through pop debate you know fuel cell you use the fuel cell in that other video which for the van ahead a little pump off that race can yeah okay so we're thinking we got a blown fuel pump now I'm gonna throw this on there we're running now exhilarating full of diesel I'm gonna hose clamp on this and we'll see if this sucker starts up now [Applause] three of like ten seconds I steal dripping on the return the continuation of part 2 of the towtruck revivals I'm here with my buddy Jacob Davis who was driving through the great state of Iowa today and stopped with us for a few days to make some videos here and there on his trip back home if you haven't heard of this man go check him out Sally speed shop on YouTube jenkins you've been recently released from the hierarchy of media platforms that we don't want to mention that start with an h and i'd say it on the front of the car yeah it's definitely not right here yeah they finally don't own this man anymore like an animal and he can be a human again and he started a YouTube channel so now I'm free to work on crap like this with my friends yeah everything's going great yeah immediate a fantastic really moving up in the world so like I said it's been two weeks since we last touched this truck they've actually came in mode whoever owns this land and they piled up all the stuff that we left against this so we have to dig it back out and like restart the revival I believe we're to the point where we just kind of get any fuel through the injectors I've done some learning in the last couple of weeks a lot of it came from you guys's comments about this red truck which the video did great you guys left a lot of comments it was awesome I learned that that was an oil / fuel injection system and bikers bunch of stuff that we learned from your comments did you check the spark plugs and no one commented check this part this one believe we're just not getting fuel past the injectors which means I think it's just airlock because these ideas level air lost good injectors we cracked the injectors on the driver's side replaced that fuel pump or that feel filter fill it see if we get a Quran and see if we get that feel pump to pick up anything from the tank if not we have an actual pump this time we're a little more prepared and a little bit more knowledgeable so let's dive into this and see if we get it running I'm sure it'll go well we know lots about Jesus one time it made a noise it was a girl that's it oh goodness still rusty and it's still a diesel so that's still unfortunate but uh not suing you this thing going so we know last time we had feel coming out this return when we were trying to feed it from an external source okay so there's a least fuel flowing to the pumpers here or something so what we could have is low load failures we're just a little plug and we do have diesel oil sparking loose find that out should be warm enough it you know it'll fire should be hot enough yeah that we lay off no problem the other guy had no issues so so yeah just crack all these injectors on the side and hope for the best get some air out of there now we drain both of these batteries and have to go buy another one yep yeah she's still in part let's make sure nothing weird has happened where this thing seized up sitting for too late there might be one cylinder is a little low on compression it sounds pretty healthy overall though not bad all the rust is really adding to oh yeah welcome to Iowa polity of this be it's terrible up here see we don't have this down in your done hey we have full brake fluid dose that was a great sign as of right now the rust has not attacked the brake line so let's go ahead and get our fuel source set up and get everything back to where it was when we cut the camera last time so a buddy of mine who was a service tech said Kevin Kevin Kevin what the hell are you doing nice and Wyatt no tell me so what he's instructed us to do is to simply remove this that was really easy this is the return we're gonna plug this guy off and then we're gonna crack these driver-side injectors I believe it's this top piece and feed this fuel and see if we get any fuel to come out they're these like the airlock we're gonna get all the air out of this high-pressure pump and get the fuel to where it needs to go I suppose in theory science yeah math things math with eyes we've got our fuel return line plugged off we have the fuel line here remove this fitting below here is the fuel pressure regulator so we're gonna see if any fuel comes out here one we're just pumping with our weak little pump we did bring a new one if that one doesn't work we can use and then we'll see if anything comes out when we're cranking it this here is the cold start advanced line or the wire and this is our fuel solenoid wire so I'm just gonna put a feel pressure to this if you want to call it pressure I like dual suggestion generally helps yeah and that's anything right now okay I'm gonna crank it tries to start and Phyllis turn the scissors Hey so that's checked that's an improvement actually don't know what that means but there's fuel yeah all right Wyatt know what alright so now that we know we have fuel coming out of this line right here from the field pressure regulator around the return circuit or ever get this plugged off since we're running external fuel source now we're gonna crack these injectors and wait for fuel to come out here and that should prove that our pump is good having fuel come out of here shows that all the housing and everything is like intact and everything's working or at least making some fuel pressure somewhere oh there's gotta be harder to get well it can't be too easy afford what do you expect that's a diesel with Ollie a fair boo that's what it's warm out here today there's ninety and all the humidity okay so um I guess now we key on fuel pump and crank it and watch for goo-goo-goo all right turn key on so from what I've been told that clicking is the glow plug relays saying ah Wow ooh it hurts the glow plugs are bad it'll never start so yeah we'll see I could always plug the block heater and we could maybe somehow I mean there is diesel present okay we successfully have goo so now we'll tighten the GU shooters back up and the technical term yeah all the diesel guys on there just like we definitely have some typical return line leaks from this idea I over here already I'm these braided lines leak in those real dripping everywhere so at least we know where the fuel is oh my goodness this is annoying alright so as far as we know we have fuel where we need fuel to be and serial where's your not a theory in this episode is Jacob's gonna turn our scissors on scissors is active it runs for a little bit and then it starts clicking it's all you might be getting a touch of heat into him maybe let's just see if it's warm enough hit with fuel and I lost my screwdriver hey you are [Applause] I am trying to do anything I don't even see any white smoke out the back which is like what evidence of no evidence of no fuel getting into the actual cylinders what is this line oil eyes or something into the air intake I've heard the turbo hope it does look like water but it looks like it's coming from its water where is it coming from no water math get extra horsepower coming out of this this PCV thing over on the side I don't know it looked like it was running down right here yeah it's coming out of this this canister right here is like full of water somehow let's just pop that a pump that boot off there for that hole yeah filter housing mmm lovely eyes our water in that that's weird oh hang on oh you can hear it oh yeah oh there you go yeah Oh shall we good to go now yes put that on the Sun to dry that's good a towel pinang see your turbo how are we looking a little bit of play but not a lot since we have that intake air horn off is actually really easy to get to all our passengers side injectors so we went ahead and we've tracked all eight injectors we're gonna crank this sucker over and try to get all the line see if that helps I think honestly taking off these wrenches sitting on the Sun it's hot enough that if our couples don't work we just somehow pull us around with the truck yeah put that in there and it's good to go I think it would work here we go [Applause] my son ha smell of diesel I like the smell of gasoline better alright let's tighten these back up and their cyclic role plugs quote-unquote cycle of glow plugs there we go [Applause] damnit we've tried to crank this it should have feel it's still just not lighting off and it could just be well plug it shoot where it's not warm enough but it's not even pushing you smoke or anything out to the tailpipe so we're gonna how do you guys suggested wd-40 is a little better on these in ether as this brake cleaner so we're just gonna step her way up last time we tried to do this you tried the lock so if we start problem we're just gonna stop and go after other methods of trials and tribulations or just go get the other tow truck and drag home yeah then for sell people your tools are rusty in Iowa well yeah if you leave them in the truck can you forgive it the tip out 12 15 years tell me man you guys down south don't understand we are spoiled how bad could it be everything everything is rusted and broken your Cutlass has holes by the mirror yeah I know it's walking to help out on the booster for sure [Applause] doesn't like us very much nope here we are again I didn't notice I see some smoke [Applause] my goodness let's start a cool down for a bit smoke up here there's smoke happening it seems like it's trying to hey did it I saw some smoke come out of the exhaust sounds like we got one sitting there trying to hit it's smoking huh it's right too late twice damn it it's not easy locking this time they did it so bad last time I don't understand what check I mean it's doing a little but not like couch dropping it sounds like a dealer maybe it's actually getting some fuel in there with me yeah and it's preventing it a little [Applause] Wow yeah starters gotta be cookin sorry girl diesels are built to crank right yeah nope well that was an ungodly amount of ether that I didn't feel good about doing it all but we did and it's still the same as it was before I think we just have no glow plugs at all today so our best bet might be to try to spin this thing around and get this block in this hundred degree Iowa Sun it might help yeah or it'll just make it incredibly hot while we work on it how the hell do we do that you got a strap no oh yep that's gonna be fun maybe there could we pull it around by its own cables oh come on ah hang on a second being stubborn there we go [Music] there you go put her in for low man he actually cares about his new vehicle for some reason it's got tension on one let me break that one's loose hang on for low please for low please yep oh yeah she's moving alright stop I guess I need to get in and run the break so let's set this up on a tripod let off the brake touch the gas the tiny spin the whole thing moves four-wheel drive is a wonderful thing EcoBoost baby I just think it's that right there that means something yeah it helps a lot too but I could do it and get 21 miles we got all day I love it spoiled rotten this air conditioned but hey it's you know like 25 cars I'm allowed to have one with work in a city I only have one with working a/c meanwhile I'm driving that hooptie alright let me jump in this thing and get attacked by wasp while we move it over to over here so we can utilize the great big glow plug in the sky keep going buddy that might help [Music] there you go we're just gonna put this back zip ties me look at that we need some we need some only on foot covers on this thing it's like new yeah that would I would definitely make it better cuz that's that's pretty rough nothing holding there's literally a pencil tip width of metal do this there you go mate screw you good stuff quality vehicle you got here Kevin I know you just put an old truck cab on it something like something like that 64 f-350 cab or something if the motor is any good if the rock or the wrecker is any good which is you can tell it's it's really not that great crusty yeah Jacob you turn the glow plugs on for me there you go thanks man we need to think of it all the way yeah probably dang it I'm only seeing the first two cylinders getting more all right let's go get the tools yeah so - totally utilize our big eco-friendly glow plug we're gonna pop the hood off get those back cylinders a little sunlight on them too our theory is we feel like a couple of little plugs standing out here cooking so this thing should feel like one big one and maybe light off how hot are glow clock supposed to get I think if you guys don't know about these um I guess Ericsson straps no way at all paid or told to say this I just freaking love these things this is what someone should have invented like 15 years ago oh yeah look at that the whole engine is getting Sun now boom you call friendly glow plugs to start our not eco friendly diesel I'm sure this will work great sadly it probably will all right so we let her soak in the Sun for a little bit unfortunately we must have some weather moving in tonight cuz now it's now it's cloudy so yeh I replace our feed pump does that ones the same one I've been using for revivals for two years this is actually a diesel pump so not only was that one worn out but this one's correct I'm sure it's just a difference in seals may be in clearances the tolerances I don't know honestly maybe it's just a green piece of plastic and 15 more dollars so we're gonna try that we're gonna try it without ether because it honestly seemed like it was so close to going had it had glow plugs it probably would have led off by now but she's just probably so worn out that she needs the plugs even though it's 90 degrees outside I also noticed at the bottom of this hose is loose so I might need to tighten that to keep air from getting into the high-pressure pump that might be our problem all along who knows final question marks let's start answer them before we crank this I'm actually gonna go ahead and see if I could tighten this at all Oh oh that's I believe that's a noting in there but you could still potentially pull air and cause this entire problem so maybe this will start now probably not [Applause] [Applause] batteries dammit alright well it's another day once again this time it wasn't two weeks it was only like two days we got our batteries charged up we're sitting in here we got the hood open and try to get good old glow plug in the sky going get that warmed up but that's really what we tried last time so we need to step it up and try some other methods we're pretty sure all this is as far as I'm aware so far is that there's no gold plugs left on this truck they're junk it's clicking out the relay it's trying to start it but it's only doing a little bit here and there there's no heat in the motor so before we go all the way to replacing glow plugs which is probably gonna be a nightmare since they like the balloon if they're old or aftermarket and they get worn out we're gonna roll this hundred feet that way plug the block heater in okay it does have one I'm kind of secretly hoping that just lights the truck on fire immediately and we don't have to do anything else do everything we can without doing blow plugs to get this thing running and then probably still have to do glow plugs so hey Diesel's let's push her that way and start our day let's plug this guy and see if it catches on fire so we've been able to get every box open on the truck except for this one and I can see that there's like a toolbox or something in there and it's locked and of course it's Iowa so these screws won't come out and I don't want to really you know bend anything up but maybe it'll just pop loose pretty easy so a little better prying action we'll see see what we can do oh yeah that was easy hey it's the same toolbox I have a bunch of dirt daubers nests Oh check it out man we got the trailer lights you hook them up to the car you're towing how cool is that those are actually cool that's all that's in there except for some of your trim for your seat the rest is just the ground what is this jeez there we go we didn't even damage it will I ever be able to shut it again probably not here we go all right this is getting a little more familiar now I'm getting down and dirty with bypassing some stuff and figuring out what exactly everything is and what exactly everything does these are our glow plug leads I'm sure many of you have already said this in the comment by this point the video but you're either yelling we need to change the glow plugs or we need to come train or change the solenoid or change this controller box on the bottom and I agree one of these three is bad I've gone ahead with a test light and check to feel the glow plugs according to the interwebs if this sucker lights up they're good and all eight of them light up I also noticed when some of you probably commented this wire right here is also a glow plug wire which has been cut so you're only ever potentially trying to heat seven anyway so I might try to get this guy reconnected down here whatever else and whatnot but even with just the test light connected to any point in this harness on these guys with all eight unplugged it's enough to start clicking this relay instead of actually properly functioning so I'm starting to think it's not actually a glow plug issue but more so this relay and instead of just trying to get a new one of these I don't see why I can't cross these two with a screwdriver for a little longer than we were before these are probably old this glow plug so we're gonna cross them for a little longer than we had before and try it again and another another things we noticed this oh she's in really good shape it's good for at least another 30 yards ever seen you joint that bad like there's no bearings left in it at all it's just the pins flopping around it's pretty incredible probably why it was in four-wheel drive this thing is gross underneath yeah look at that like delaminating like look at the spring perch over yeah it's like delaminating this is for sale if anyone wants to buy it quick big-ass trailer okay all of our glow plugs are hooked back up I even put this one on here I'm gonna go hit the key see if there's any difference I doubt it but haveno I was thinking too high resistance is what's clicking it but it could be too low whereas if you don't have a late one one fails they all fail let's try one more time I think I hear click once that's interesting you might be working maybe not you got few looked up I'm gonna verify to see if this local guy is working at all and what the deal is he's on he's locked you should be eating the plugs I might have worked there's turn off yeah and then it only clicked twice instead of pop out so I think it turned on and then off yeah it's on/off so I only ran for like 10 seconds but I mean I did cyclone earlier so we get cycle out a few times before we try to turn it over let's uh let's go through the bleed procedure and try to light this thing off I cracked three on the driver's side excuse you only cranked it [Applause] squirting like it was it's much like losing losing out it's strange [Applause] [Applause] it's like we're already Franken slow did you forget to charge the batteries hot damn yeah I don't know the condition of these battery cables that were using on this truck they're pretty uh they're so big though there should be a big but that's pretty hammered on the positive side she's being awfully grumpy and been grumpy the whole time all right we're gonna give her one more go here and then I'm gonna stop and charge the batteries again someone me may have forgot to charge this one last night I think that's what's killing us right now we just don't have the cranking speed she's weepers all right let's go get some batteries all right so we got two fully charged brand-new batteries and try this again at this point I've pretty much bought out Walmart on batteries that's okay cuz I got a bunch of projects that actually need batteries so when I'm done with this [ __ ] [Applause] it's almost like it's trying to go on diesel hates this now this thing is back and forth let's uh bleed one of these injectors if there's any air left we'll get it out go ahead Oh an hour a little too ladies and gentlemen you're about to witness the world's most durable starter at this point I was fed up with this thing and wanted a reason to stop but it wouldn't let me at least not yet [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] so close cool black like gray smoke and I wasn't just white when I'm moving my hand mm-hmm damn it's like it's trying to get fuel but it just doesn't have enough whole clothes there I mean that was like it's turned from white to gray and then you know it's just every time you moved your hand on that throttle a little bit it was just changing what it did I don't know if we don't have enough pressure from this guy or what it could very well be if I hit it with a tiniest amount of ether it tries to go so let's uh on the plug again that starter is a champ man I mean that was a good solid minute of cranking [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] I've never seen a diesel so goddamn hard to start everyone's like six seven or that seven three power so it's gonna be a nightmare that I di is gonna fire up on vegetable oil then like two weeks just wanting me right on either that's a lot of cranking my goodness I don't think I've ever seen one that hot that's very impressive [Applause] ah what can we do differently because I haven't noticed the same thing over and over again but it has improved a lot we've read blood everything hooked up the return line so it doesn't know it's not clogging itself anymore so yeah absolutely brilliant the fuel it's definitely got fuel getting to the injectors it's about whether the it's actually squirting it into the cylinders and it is a little bit because now we're getting a tiny bit of smoke out the back but not nearly enough I mean we could have blown the injector caps off with either two weeks ago but I think that usually causes engine damage when that happens and I think so sounds okay inside its poor freaking thing a poor starter I think the real MVP yeah Jesus that was the hooked on it earlier [Applause] again ain't this thing well that's gonna do it for part two because I'm sure at this point our run time is ridiculous and you've been here for probably 45 minutes whoops we're not there will be a part three our final chance hopefully to get this sucker running and cruelly u-joint in it and get it back to the shop and get a soul with that being said both of these trucks are for sale if you guys want to buy this for the red one shoot me an email junkyard Diggs one.com make me an
