oh we just finished the second tire we're getting ready to back track throat and then i had a question uh what we're gonna do with these tires we're gonna take them back to the shop and then we're gonna wait for our stewardship to saskatchewan to pick them up okay okay so we are gonna recycle okay that's my question cool well i'll get this tractor going here and we'll we'll get going i got my fancy dancy key here don't judge me we're not quite got everything fixed yet awesome all right first drive since i managed to get it running here um seriously this is the first drive in about 10 years and we're going backwards i hope we're gonna go back oh yeah oh those brand new tires don't they look good or what hey oh that's awesome looking yeah okay because i might need a neutral okay well the reason why we're actually outside is because there's chloride in these tires and chloride is uh it's calcium chloride it's actually just used as weight that's the reason why you would put it in i do believe it's around that three quarters level so i'm pretty sure we're gonna have to pump the chloride out of the tire into a tank that he will have and then we'll work on the tire fix the tire and then when we're done we'll pump the chloride back into it now i probably don't need to but the other tire already still has chloride so it wasn't match them up that's the plan all right so we're just sticking a jack under it here we definitely uh we put our coats on it's a whole heck of a lot cooler out here than it is in there and to be honest it's not even that cold i think it's like minus two or three or something celsius but there's a pretty good winch the wind and the wind chill always makes it [Music] chilly air attack is always handy so what sorry was that i'm just loosening off the core right here okay because it's corroded yeah from the calcium chloride then i'll stick my gun on there okay like we'll have to clean that off because our goal is to pump the chloride out right yeah so we can pump it back in afterwards okay and that's our chloride pump and i guess we're just going to stick it in these plastic barrels now this uh calcium chloride it's highly corrosive right yeah yeah it could be only concrete for the skin alright yeah it's not good for anything got it the problem is the weights are in the way to put his gun on here [Music] here i can take them that's hot oh it is warm like hot potato hot potato hot potato hot oh here um all right we got that weight off nope one more eh one more weight we should be good okay here i'll grab that other side again oh take that second weight off and i got my knuckle a little bit a little skin gone off no big deal just a flesh wound so now we've screwed this on to the tr 18 yeah tube like i explained later you smash it home okay smash it home now we're just releasing we should either hear the sound of air or a little bit boy put that on my wound that'll probably sting a little bit it would be healed in two days it would be wouldn't it that's awesome kelsey employee is good to minus 50. okay within the seat oh really yep hence it's corrosive nature so hold this no i'm just hooking up my line yeah overlocks in now we'll open her back up yeah i'm holding this and then i'll grab my vice yep the lion's getting a little bad there probably can't see that [Music] there it is yep okay you want me to put the tractor in neutral okay it's not gonna come shooting out of this barrel is it [Music] how much pressure do we got oh that's coming out pretty good there she'll just set it there now okay i'll go through the tractor neutral okay why are we throwing the tractor in neutral why so i can because the valve stream has to be plugged into the bottom so i can pump this guy so we gotta move okay i should come out with some homemade cookies here so i just gotta do that and uh oh you're bleeding oh yeah i don't it's all good did i get blood on that cookie here i should i better i'll take the container i'll take the container okay sounds good at the bottom got it now we can pump the chloride easily until the tire sucks in like it was already starting you see how it's pushing in yeah that means it's sucking so the chlorine pump is basically a back pressure okay it sucks everything in like a vacuum okay so now this will take us probably about 20 minutes half hour to pump off the tire properly oh okay that long got it yeah okay i guess uh i'm gonna eat my cookie and uh we're gonna wait sucking down you're seeing it happen here take a look at this stuff in here we just got a this hose i was worried that it was gonna pop out at first but it's kind of got a mind of its own here a little bit i don't know how much is in here so this is new to me well it's not new to me but it's been a long time since you pump chloride that's not really used anymore new tractor just so you know that uh that was like an older thing but now we just add steel we just add cast we put we put weights on right uh not very often are you putting fluid and you can't put water up here why because water freezes you'd have to use chloride something that doesn't freeze so that's like you said this goes down to minus 50. that's pretty stinking cold we're still pumping tires still sucking in so is this is this hard on the tire then or is it going to bounce back yeah right it makes sense this is how it's been done for a long time yeah and now like i was telling them prior uh chloride was more of a thing we did in the past it's not really exactly cheap option for weight smaller farmers that if people don't have the money to buy weights okay but you don't see this very much on new equipment oh do you still see this quite a bit on the equipment okay i stand corrected then i stand correctly so you're still seeing a lot on newer equipment i just had a tractor go flat from 2019. okay well i'll take that back then so then we've taken out just about one full barrel here and uh how much are we how much does this thing hold like like how much fluoride is in that tire some of those one and a half and all that okay i see you have three so sometimes it can be three barrels yeah okay i pumped on larger tires that pumped off four bears okay that's good to know it all depends on the tire size of the radius size right okay we're good to go we're gonna turn the pump off okay we have it already back flowed wow that tire ever sucked down yeah we got about 100 gallons of fluid out of here 100 gallons that's impressive so what is that weight like how much uh i'm not exactly sure i can't remember i'm sure the people [Music] [Music] i forgot to hit play we just did all this but anyway we took this off there is about a hundred or so gallons of fluid that we've taken out and put it in the barrels and uh when we release this there's actually like some serious suction here like it actually wants to it's like a vacuum because it's trying to let the air back into that into the tire yeah it's already starting to spring back out that's cool so how long does it typically take because i can see the tire moving four or five minutes it should come all back out okay and then the next step is we'll put a bar in here yeah and then we'll put that handy tool called a bead breaker on feed breaker i [Applause] got it okay so the tire is popping back out here as you can see trying to release this old brass corroded up nozzle here it's not looking so good we might just have to chisel it right off here i can get you a better hammer oh yeah i never mind [Music] break that thing off of there sorry there we go done see it's a brass that's the old school style and i'll grab you a new cool style here in a second you guys see that not very good the new ones the plastic they don't corrode they break easy i like it locked in there good so you want to come hold yeah yeah i'm coming hold the bar yeah [Applause] see if i can't fling my phone somewhere here by accident oh what do we got that's the bead breaker that's the bead breaker i'm pretty excited about it so you stick it on the lip lines yeah yeah hydraulic no it's air it is hydraulic yeah hydraulic ground by air ran by air got it still now that's really pushing on that bar it's in we removed the bar this bar is not designed to stay in it and it climbs on yeah it climbs on right here so it makes a firm log slowly as you can see here the beads pull apart yeah pushing it all right this comes right out there you want to get it back into that lift now unusual tires go like this and now just pop off but this tire spins oh some dust come see if i can't lose to see if i can't lose a finger here or something oh it's cheap now awesome got it all right [Music] nice so all we did there just wanted to break it off the bead the tire from the rim that's all we want to do is just push it snap it off and the other thing is if this is not coming up as fast it's good because it lets all that air push into the tire now okay because that's what we want this is like 101 for mike here didn't know that i uh there's so much to do with tires it's a lot of work he's been learning a little bit he's like grabbed the wet axe speed beat x i was like what the crap is a beat axe that's beat x the hammer this is our spoon bar spoon bars because it looks like a spoon or kind of shaped like a spoon and then those are mounting the disc mounting bar is that just because they're a little different shaped here so you dismount using this side okay and then you only use one and mount with this side okay got it you guys there's gonna be a pop quiz on that at the end of this because i don't have the pride notch in my area okay so but all the tires sometimes don't have a pry knot yeah so what you do is you get this in between the tire and bead okay that way you can get the bead breaker in there and just so you i'm clarifying for you guys this is the bead notch right here it's basically nicely cut out so that way you can put a bead breaker in there we don't have it on this side so we got improvise we just mentioned too or we have it and it's not in the feasible area so on the side somewhere so it's not peaceful just to turn the tire over that got it okay do you need me to yeah i'm bar guy i'm bar guy about all i'm good for here so okay and then i'm going to need you actually to hit that pedal when i tell you oh i like hitting pedals there's not a red button but i like it now thing now we'll bring it the rest of the way in nice learning lots here learning lots just saying that this bead breaker uh it gets pressured right up like obviously when you're pressuring up it's actually popped off before you've seen it and if that thing comes flying at you and hitching the chest it will it will do some rib damage ooh that's not a good sign not normally you go to the hospital and they put on a rubber glove that makes me nervous i don't know about you just so the gunk doesn't slip on my hands okay and okay so why are we doing this again because the tire's an older tire yeah and also i was taught you never do stuff dry okay same with the tires got it never do stuff dry you guys you guys got that good it's like get your mind out of the gutter guys with no butter or something i like that making eggs no butter it's all good same with the tire got it just saying when you see the white when this gunk turns white that means that there was chloride on the tire that's kind of a true tell sign that you had a bit of a chloride leak or somewhere somewhere at some point learning all sorts of new things [Music] you want me to be a bar guy again or are you gonna not yet i don't know if that's really i think [Music] i envy your gloves i'm gonna have to go find mine pretty soon i know it's so close my fingers are freezing try holding the metal bar no i can't imagine you guys gotta remember it is winter out here it is january no it hasn't been that cold but it's still winter [Music] when your fingers are cold and you pinch them that feels like that just feels good there we go tires off so now we're gonna drag that tube out of there is that our plan oh you're going to give me a hand okay and we're going to pull back bottom here there we go now he's a tube is not done for because of this yeah yeah so there's still a little bit of a little bit of got it so we're gonna try and get that out of there okay and suck it out cut the tube suck it out got it so we're gonna cut the tube yeah just like that like a fish we're playing this tube or we're just making oh we might the knife looks a little dull but we're getting it here it's a chlorine knife okay this is what chlorine does the metal oh yeah it uh ruins it okay got it we ain't wasting anything around here now we're going to suck this out okay as you can see there's chlorine in there yeah i see the liquid in there yeah it's kind of brown looking yeah it just turns brown over time from being in the notitude yeah into barrels that makes sense it's almost like a clearish whitish color but it's brand new you don't want the pump to hit the bottom of the tube or just something into okay oh yeah i can see that it's [Applause] okay so we got the tube we're pulling it out here just like that and i looked it up and uh calcium chloride weighs around 11.3 pounds per gallon we took around 1150 ish pounds worth of custom chloride out of this uh tire all right so the tires off what does it look like in here actually it looks not bad a little bit of dirt i guess so we're gonna fold this mount we take the bath bead off next but because we're doing a fly we're gonna leave it on the tire we're changing this tube on the tractor is what i meant to say so what do we do with this uh dust down here good question we have this type of vacuum here fancy fancy just hooks up to the airline yeah there we go so how does that work i guess it's done it reverses the area power reverse it just pulls the air through so that's cool i can put this on either side depending if i want to be right on the ground yeah or we want the hose that's cool so the next step we'll do now with this tire yeah is because it was going flat for some reason yep and we don't know why so we're going to just check the face of the inside check the face any punctures or any got it defects right [Music] i'll get out of your way here i don't want to be in his way because you know he's trying to do a job and i'm only adding you guys and us as a team we're adding to his workload so we sure appreciate it roy we sure appreciate your patience with us there's a little bit more fine dust that i found hanging up there that we don't like we're going to vacuum that up so we're going to vacuum it out on mike's feet that's cool i like having lots of pressure yeah we got that all cleaned up we've checked we don't see any punctures yep any damages so now we'll get our youtube vote youtube time new tube time got it youtube time youtube time new truth okay maybe you should explain the best thing he was just explaining it this way the valve stump sticks towards you got it you're mounting it towards the back without it sticks that way that makes sense the opposite sure go sure hate to go through all the work and realize that you put the tube in uh backwards or upside down so if you never let your there will be a pop quiz at the end of this right just feed it around yeah okay it's in there so now we'll just move the tiger in a bit with my knees find the bells to feel like i'm not helping a whole lot turn around pull it through there it is and then put the band on put the wedding down on okay get it as tight as you can yep remove this part they move apart this part now the uh the valve assembly oh yeah sorry beating them in the head here now you all grab a quick flow okay just an open valve okay stick it on here [Applause] oh that is handy is what i call fast inflation my hand this time finish lubing the tire yeah make sure no big gun fall in the tire yeah that would suck well it won't hurt anything it's gelatin right so the next step now is we'll push her just a little bit more on okay like down okay tear it up [Applause] now you release your air let it drain out slowly how can you have to let it drain out slowly because the air in there now will fight you while you're trying to beat it oh yeah that makes sense so you're essentially inflating the tip make sure it's not crinkled or crossed or anything like that okay please you have to remember we're plugging the chloride back into here yes okay got it got it we'll let it deflate a little bit that chloride was pretty hard on my rim say what i'll get my cars ready okay up here launch it here yeah you know i'll lift the whole tire up oh yeah just like that could you just pass me that yeah now my second bar will go here you want to pull that off you want to just yeah i'm bar holder here but all i'm good for got so far down that way now i'll go that's fine don't worry about that don't minor things no we're going to have to switch sides okay take that bar out put pressure here like this yeah or with your knee okay got it so now i can grab my other shoulder bar here oh yeah it's going on like butter you guys you know it's kind of challenging holding my phone and uh being bar holder and uh so now at this point you want to make sure your tire is back dropped in that center any debris just take out just a little scale off the tire scale off the tire got it don't like scale nope done done now we'll lower the tractor a little bit okay we'll put a little weight on the bottom of the tire why do we want to do that these some tires when you're tubing them yep still get coated at the bottom oh okay and it's all very nice okay is it that tire you got two pushes of beetle yeah it pops your bead right back off got it okay beadex inside what this does is there's always an air pocket between your tube and the tire got it so this is going to let all the air escape so you lose more less air in the end when okay here it does escape we're going to set this on here stop beating the tire okay and it's just pushing the air out until you can't hold that uh beat ax there anymore there it is what happens if i put my fingers in there [Laughter] i think i have a small mosquito bite on my one finger right now it'd just be completely gone if you're gone [Laughter] and we don't want to do that so for this reason okay check it both that the inside and outside are heated properly and they are all ready okay that's okay yeah okay coming out got it put your cap on [Music] give it a couple minutes to let the air get the shaping out and then throw this back in the bucket there it is always wipe that on your pants now the next step will be to reach out the tractor up okay dragging the tractor back up back in neutral got it and turning the tire to the top now because we want the valve stem at the top to put the chloride sucking out's always on the bottom pumping in got it because if you try to pump it on the water it's going to take too much back pressure too much back pressure we don't want back pressure got it the tube in the tire okay everything's good now we're going to put the gun back off gun just make sure it's clean inside from the last milestone because that's happened before that that'd be unfortunate i've done it so now you're going to you hear the uh i hear a little bit of air or something so that means i've caught the glass correct okay that's good that's right so now you close it up a bit okay you'll put your linebacker move oh not that you don't want that yeah just shake that in there we got to clean this up how to clean that out because mike dropped it in the gravel so he did the big no-no don't know what i wanted you first did you want a baffle right so you don't want okay why do we want to backflow again because there's a lot of air pressure in the tires when we beat it like right rock hard if mike touches it yeah right you can't really push in on it and we don't want that there's more back pressures harder on the pump got it it can leak will blow out oh blowouts that sounds not good unless it has to do with fire and gas we're going to release this the rest away and you guys here oh yeah i hear something there's stuff going on in there you guys [Music] gotta let some of the air out you want to stop that got it such a learning curve you guys so now we're pumping in yep oh thanks for happening if you put your ear here you can actually hear it going in so i don't think you guys will you guys hear that how long is it gonna take us to pump this in approximately 45 minutes so longer than taking it out got it right so while we've been waiting a little bit i went and cleaned up my finger kept it from bleeding so much you see the air coming out so that's that's air coming out of the tire that's making that bubble yeah okay that's just back back here back pressure so we're just bleeding it out and we're gonna hook it back to the pump and keep pumping it in well i'm still hooked up i'm just back pulling it off my pump oh you're still hooked up okay i got it okay he's this lover here this way is out of the tire yeah this way it's into the tire and then you so so by by back flooring it can you lose all the chloride you just put it in there i don't lose the chloride because it's up here the chloride i've already put it is down here now all right chloride's heavier than air so it's at the bottom and all the air is coming out of the top hence the valve spores at the top tire that's brilliant so fluoride is all in the tractor or the tire i should say hopefully not the tractor and uh we're going to are we going to put the weights on here first uh let me see here and everything okay i'm getting ahead of myself okay we're making the cape right got it now we all lower it got it lowering it already we just found out that the other one is starting to leak so he's like see in a month i'm like okay that's unfortunate if we have known that we would have brought two tubes and did them both at the same time oh well that's farming so uh we're torquing our tires here and how important is it to uh torque tires it's really important it's really important got it i don't want to be losing any tires here there it is hear that little click that tells you that you're ready to rock and roll yeah you're right you're talking right there click click we want to hear quick clicks awesome so next uh then the last thing what we got to do is put the extra weights on and uh mike will try and watch his fingers a little bit closer this time so change of plan um some of these bolts are hold on here really rusted see if i can there you go so we're gonna put new bolts in now we don't have these particular size of bolts with us here currently right now so uh i gotta run the town actually today so i'm gonna pick some new ones up and i'll put the weights on later with uh the help of someone else on our farm here so that's it today guys thanks for hanging out this is how you change some tires and that's it thanks a lot roy you're awesome thanks for walking us through all this and uh i knew it took about twice as long but i really appreciate it all right
