Don't they have enough evidence to sue?
The shady mechanics are some pretty slick con men. Once the first lady started asking specific questions after being told the total ("What do I need done again?"; "So why did I need power steering fluid changed exactly?") he figured she was getting suspicious and "cut" her a deal. "A guy nice enough to cut me a deal wouldn't get scam me, right?" That's what he is going for.
Me:
Oh, hey, it's CBC. Cool.
Ok, Guelph, the city I used to live in.
Hey, that place looks familiar, I used to go to that pl...
Fuck. Fucking shit.
Why on Earth did that video go for 21 minutes? They could have easily condensed it into half that time..
Regarding the bogus brake flush: At 12:15, you can see him opening a bottle of brake fluid, so what he probably did was just suck the old fluid from the reservoir and fill it up with new fluid. Sneaky. Just like the coolant.
That was the weakest confrontation I've ever seen.
I liked the dubstep when they drove to oil place like it was the climax of an action movie someone in high school made
This is how I felt as an employee at gamestop. Upsell crap and make the customer feel guilty until you meet your number quota. It's garbage.
edit: I want to emphasize that I don't work there anymore. I know all gamestops don't do this. Mine did. I quit.
edit 2: and yes I know the OP video is much worse thank gamestop. I was just commenting on how the behavior displayed reminded me of my time working there
Even the dealers are shady. I took my vehicle to VW because they sent out a postcard advertisement for a $10 oil change. I called ahead because the coupon was past the expiration date, and they confirmed that they would still honor the coupon. Then when I arrived, I reminded them of that conversation, and they said they would honor it. Then they printed out a piece of paper, and asked me to sign off on the service we had just discussed. I started to sign it automatically, because we had just discussed the price not 30 seconds prior, but for some reason I stop and read the paper. She had switched it to the premium service for $89, I think. I look at her like "WTF?" and she says nothing, but prints out another paper with the correct price. No apology or anything. Always read the fine print
