BUSAN is NOT What I was Expecting 🇰🇷 South Korea

good afternoon from Busan so I just stepped off the train here in Busan after coming from Soul had a really good ride on the highspeed rail here in Korea and now I looking to find the metro station so I can get to my Airbnb so come with me as I explore Busan for the first time okay I got to say this is a really cool Vibe I can smell the ocean water I can tell that we are near the ocean we are closer to the ocean so I can see houses here on the hillside which looks really cool and this whole cityscape looks really nice so let me see I kind of was given directions to the Metro station so let me let me try to figure out if I know where I'm going here yeah that looks like the subway station okay I'm going to seang uh SE minion SE minion station from here looks like I've got uh five stops to ride and yeah cool okay Busan Metro station wonder if my uh card will work I bought a uh or I have a card here from uh Soul wonder if it's the same Metro station or a Metro System I'm assuming right so this is what I have hopefully that works that'd be really easy I've got like 6,000 something wand on there so it should get me a ride or two into Busan so yeah either way very excited to be here after having spent a week in Soul I'll be in Busan for 3 days and then I'll be going back to soul and yeah exploring more more of Soul when I come back when I go back so yeah tell me what are some things I should do here in Busan what are your favorite things drop a comment let me know what are the best things to do in Busan where the tourist attractions you know at some point I'm going to head over to the beach here see what that that is like in Korea and I do see a lot of markets night markets traditional markets lots of good food options here and I saw some other things as well as I was looking at the map here's the Texas street so that's it's very interesting but yeah seems like there's so much to do here what is this ATM oh it's a crazy ATM okay got traditional Market sh Metro okay all right moment of truth let's see if our card works here in Busan okay soan I see my station here that's where I need to go all right let's see ah it works perfect perfect perfect okay now I don't know do we just pick one so that'll be convenient got this all squared away then make sure I need to find a map to make sure I know where I'm going okay I think it's going to take us the right way yeah this is right okay could be a busy ride guys could be a busy ride see yeah it'll be quite busy all right let see on the other side now I was told to go to 10 exit 10 by my airb V host I don't see exit 10 oh this a transfer oops we don't want that yeah we don't want that okay I'll just pick an exit figure it out I was a really packed uncomfortable notal ride but we got here okay Airbnb is telling me 10 there's no 10 here I don't see a then and uh Google's selling me eight so we're going to go eight well I'm excited to be here so I'm staying near Cafe Street which supposedly a really fun happening place definitely going to get a beer oh now I see 10 okay cool now I see 10 up here let's uh tap it all right got 5,000 left and okay think I'll go with the Airbnb host recommendation well look like we got a sale going on here folks and I did notice that like in both Japan and Korea in the Metro stations you always have these clothing item uh item stores clothing stores oh gosh lot's going on okay exit 10 get me out of here please okay okay my apartment is somewhere in the cube so I was told I have to go through Starbucks maybe it's here this is an office tell it's I guess offices and apartments or offices and hotels something like that I don't know this is interesting we'll see what it's like so industrial okay it's very industrial here H okay guys let's get the first look at the apartment together okay outside looks a bit unassuming I'm not going to lie but whoa we have uh an array of cleansing products here I was not expecting that toothbrushes everything that you would need even uh ear what are they called uh whatever they're called I don't know I need some food been traveling all day okay uh We've also got shampoo body wash all of that shower looks really nice it's even got one of these filters on it so it should help with the water okay here we have washer thank goodness looks like something happened here I don't know cook top I guess that means don't use the cook top okay toaster microwave a host Locker okay I don't know guess I'm not going to open it up anyway whoa guys guys guys guys gave me a little flower there let me put the lights on and let's get this cranking because all right where are you okay ah there it is the AC's in Korea are so freaking cool so this is the same one at my other Airbnb but it's like in the ceiling it looks like it's a really cool design it's a really clean design okay we've got the bed here and what do we have some cabinet space most beautiful of all the lovely okay I don't know what that is I'm interested to see what probably like electrical stuff back there okay bed test oh oh it's hard it's very hard oh o fortunately I'm only here 3 days okay yeah this is a hard bed one of the hardest ones I've had for a while um and then here is the view I will say four pillows that is is definitely something that I can sign off on cuz I like having four pillows so what is this I guess some filtered water cou we've got a place here to do some work mirror and yeah oh do we also have the fridge built into the cabinet again tell me is this a Korea thing yes it is oh such a nice design in America these types of fridges are so expensive like they are so expensive yeah you got the freezer right in there too just such a clean design everything in Soul is or sorry Korea now now that I'm in Busan it's just like really clean design so I'm spending guess guess guess three 2 1 $41 a night not bad $41 a night for this Airbnb that is how I was able to get my uh average nightly spending here down in Korea on average I'm spending $81 a night for a 2E trip here in Korea but yeah this one is half of what it would take to travel and stay in Soul so yeah $41 a night really good price here for what you get happy with it so let's see where the day takes us not super hungry cuz I kind of over at today I don't know maybe maybe I did maybe I didn't I've been like it's been a weird day of eating I was doing it for my other video but maybe like a something small in a drink is what I'm thinking so yeah here we are p on got to say that Airbnb is very clean and uh it is a little strange it's like mechanical it is uh yeah I would describe it as mechanical like it's almost feels like you're living in a uh office space but I think that's the point so yeah this see what's around here guys H&M this is called Cafe street right around where I'm staying so I'm assuming that's coffee shops and stuff like that quaint cafes but let me just get the map up here ah B Street is over there whoops I'm not sure what the best way to get to the ocean is or like where are the best beaches in bus let me know in the comments section be cool if I could take the metro to get to the ocean I don't know if I can okay I'm feeling like it would be great to sit outside and have a drink right now I don't I haven't really noticed that too much here in Soul but yeah it'd be nice it'd be nice o I don't know which way to walk I think actually I want to go that way oh yeah this this this way looks a little bit more walkable for me cool all right Cafe Street oh wow bowling I haven't done gone bowling I don't even know when I went bowling last sports pub and music wow now this now this looks old school seems like we're in a busy spot here it is a Tuesday so not expecting too many people to be out here on a Tuesday night but alas is what we have I like outdoor seating the best there's there's nothing like sitting outside and drinking a beer or two but I have a hard time finding it here H more music hey guys well this is like freaking fun man this is so fun this reminds me of Soul a bit something going on down there I think let's see what's down here pinky what is Pinky uh wait wait wait wait wait I didn't read that right no I did pinky pinky Punky what is that I think it's like cranes disco Pang Pang what's up bro disco Pang Pang I guess this is like an arcade or [Music] something wow I bet you there's darts over there too wow this is a big one this is a big arcade yeah there's darts right here you can play uh bowling right there darts it'd be cool to throw some darts right now oh you can even shoot guns [Music] here oh wow wow this is sick he was on the other end here a basketball game Dance Dance Revolution or something wow guys okay so I'm not going to go in there but it caught my eye above it is a Nike store and this area is freaking cool man I'm guessing wait so oh no these are like shops here Bogi you know I haven't had bulgogi yet Ah that's the thing I need to get in Korea oh cool you can get your palm red here sick okay so this is one of these places where you don't even need to bring up the map you can just wander and get lost so yeah let's see what's over here guys tell me should I try Bogi I feel like it's a thing I got to do in Korea before I leave okay we've got some sort of like I don't know heart thing here this is one of these like hybrid Walk Drive streets where it's like hard to tell what's going on my vibe is that this is very popular among the youth and I also would guess that there is probably some type of university around here another arcade wow okay I've officially gotten lost I don't know where I entered here I'd have to check a map early uh thoughts if you want to craft coffee I feel like Busan is going to be your place you want a craft coffee you want really clean smooth air you want a walkable place Cafe Street in Busan that's my first Vibe okay I just got here just keep that in mind only been here like an hour so oh this looks cool old school Diner to Kobe maybe that's my shot at an outdoor place I don't know there's a lot to see here look at this cool uh bus so this is sort of like Taiwan like taipe Taiwan where you got you have a mountainscape here but you're not far from the beach at all like you could just very quickly and easily get to the beach yeah this reminds me a bit of Taiwan all these cool businesses like this one called dough garage which I'm assuming is yeah Pizza oh pizza pizza oh man you know I'm tempted oh that pizza smells so good there's like an old school Vibe like a 50s like retro Diner Vibe here in Pang so cool this seems like another walking area walking Street area I want bulgogi or Korean Fried Chicken or some type of appetizer that would be great I think things are just starting to open up here got some skewers fish cakes I guess yeah oh you can smell the Sesame like hardcore maybe some dumplings or something over here got some dumplings Twisted Red Stick oh I don't know oh no shortage of options that's for sure chicken down there it's like more fish gigs oh wow there's a whole other like walking Street okay that looks incredible hello uh show what I just ordered but it looks incredible oh oh I'm sorry I'm sorry so interested guys tell me what the name of this dish is oh it's like fried I think there's like I don't know what this is I don't know what's in there but it is so good it's almost like um a fried dough yeah it's a fried dough it's almost like a non bread with the sauce I'm not going to go for that egg I don't think oh maybe I do maybe I do maybe I go for the [Music] egg good the sauce makes it even better guys tell me what I'm eating here I almost think there's like a noodle in in the middle don't oh very very good oh guys whatever that is so good so freaking good the sauce is like it's a mild hot it's like uh mild spicy it's not super spicy but it's a mild spicy it's just it's like a sweet and spicy and it was like a fried dough and in the middle it was almost like a like a flavorless noodle is what the the middle tasted like so here it seems like there's something going on Glitz and Glam here in h Busan down this street I don't know if I've walked down the street yet but yeah that was good that might be what I needed eating wise easy Kaya those are fun you should definitely do one of those in Japan if you go to Japan which you might as well just if you come to so you might as well also do or sorry if you come to South Korea you might as well also do Japan us food China Vietnam Japan Thailand Italy food from all over the world okay oh looks like here you can sit outside and have a a drink this might be it guys this might be it let me uh there's another bar down here that I have selected that might also have outdoor seating but if not we're coming back here oh maybe the other spot would have been better oh this just might not be this is this is where I it said it was supposed to be open I think this is what we're going to do here hello hello uh one okay outside outside yeah okay guys well I feel like most of the time you should just go with your your first first gut instinct and my gut instinct was just come here and now I'm here so yeah hello thank you okay so I got a canteen of water there and some snacks thank you oh they're like a bugles okay let's see what the they have on top here Tangerine Whit ill seems very good but I think I'm going to get oh wait draft probably get the cast uh what do you have on drafts uh what is the beer Terra uh draft what what is the beer on draft the beer the beer is only Terra oh Terra okay I'll do a Cass what be uh one Cass yeah yeah thank you all right I had a tearra the other day and it was really good but I think I'll try a cast cuz I haven't tried it yet and it's been something I've been wanting to try so and then maybe I'll get a draft and then I'll dip crack it open they gave me this cool bottle opener here okay this is going to be a terrible pour cuz I'm holding the camera in one hands let's just get a pour to try it [Music] nice light and refreshing beer all right folks well it's the next day here and just got off the Metro I'd like to explore some more of Busan so I want to check out this Texas street because I don't know I'm from America it seems interesting I've been in Texas before didn't grow up in Texas only been there a few times but I'm curious I'm curious so Yang shopping area for foreigners let's check it out here maybe this is Texas street now if you don't know Wan is the second largest city in South Korea and actually there are over 3 million people who live here so yeah it's a pretty big city and I didn't realize that really until I stepped off the train yesterday and you can kind of really feel that there's some size to fan this isn't like a town this is a legitimately this is a legitimate City yeah so I guess this is you see that says Texas Street interesting welcome Texas Street I don't know what to think about this okay now I found out that you can get to the ocean by taking the metro about 40 minutes really nice that that's like a really nice perk I would say of being in Busan that's pretty accessible if you ask me okay this is one of another one of these streets where it's like you can walk on it but there's also car traffic so all right so this whole thing is Texas Street New York completely different place uh but anyway you get the feel okay another casino here huh interesting oh look at this look at this mural the uh Texas Ranger here Wild Wild West Cowboy hello cool mural even get yourself a cowboy hat here oh that's not a cowboy hat this is a cowboy hat interesting music bar Hawaii okay so it's called Texas street but there places there are different states here than just Texas and after this I'm going to hop on the Metro again and head over to another Lively area in Busan where there should be a market some other things going on Club borai H Angeles so Philippines here War Angeles Philippine Center Center here wow I've been to borai but I've never been to Angeles so Texas Street appears to be worldwide not just American so cool cool oh guys take a look at this beauty mint chocolate shake here or smoothie oh oh that is good I've not had a mint smoothie in or mint this is more like a shake let's be real so good exactly what I needed so it looks like there's also a bit of a uh I can't read this but here's some signage on Texas Street cuz it started in 1844 I've been walking for a bit here and I've been wanting to go to this Bago Gil let me know in the comment section what that translates to or what that means but this seems to be a pretty big tourist attraction here in Busan so you can see Busan station which is around where we were walking just a minute ago and I guess this is the map of bagu Gil so this is basically a timeline of events here for Busan you can see 6 uh 1968 Pon station has been constructed you can see the KTX Metro here and I guess it opened in 2004 and yeah all the way up to 2008 and lastly 2015 pan Port International Passenger Terminal oh let's walk up these stairs folks just get a shot of the walkway down there really nice and you even have a shop here coffee shop so you get to the top oh wow okay if you thought that was a lot of stairs take a look at this wow oh I need to not be so loud but man we might as well walk it guys I'll probably meet you up there cuz I'm going to be huffing and puffing but oh this is cool look look at that oh and look at this the signage of people walking up the stairs what does that say have good days something oh wow yeah I might as well walk this get some exercise in burn off this shake I just housed okay folks so once you get to the top here ah there's like a lot of different things to see but you have to talk quietly look at this absolutely beautiful wow you also see the country side here the hills the mountains and all the houses built into the mountain there looks incredible right well person at the top of the stairway that I just walked up told me that there used to be a monreal here but it's it's down which is why you have to take the stairs but that's good it's good and going down is going to feel like a reward now that you have just walked those stairs so if you come to Busan definitely do this so I'm looking for a place to throw this bottle out and I noticed you see that sign it says no throwing away CCTV but there are garbage cans there or garbage bags I guess you're still not allowed to do that all right well I think what I'm going to do is get back on the Metro and go to Nan I think is what it's called or how you pronounce it and there should be a bunch of stuff around there to do markets all of that so yeah hey guys we are at nro station here seems like there's a bunch of things to do like looks like a nice park I don't know if I'll get there maybe I will um LTI again more latti department stores and there should be a market around here somewhere yeah so this is actually what I'm looking for here Biff Square let's climb some more stairs so maybe this is Biff Square I mean I see some street food here that looks very good hello very good oh very good okay thank you this is actually all the same street food that I had last night although that chicken looks really good I don't know if I'm going to do street food cuz I'll be real what I ate last night was really good you saw it in my video it was very good but I've been having some some gastrointestinal stuff going on nothing nothing major nothing major but yeah that that's been happening okay so wow looks like we've got a big Market down here oh man and it also looks like I see German beer oh no cream beer I wish that said German beer but yeah anyway there's also a section down there but I think we'll go this way but yeah the street food here has been very good it's so unique the cuisine in Korea is is just so unique it's like you see like the cheesy hot dogs and that's like a very western style but then there's of course the traditional Korean street food uh that is also very good it's like a sweet and sour like a sweet and tangy or sorry it's like a it a lot of the street food like you see the red sauce it's hot but it's also like a little sweet uh what do you call it like a sweet chili type of deal life full of challenges be happy okay so maybe this is more like souvenir and items clothing items stuff like that but we'll see got some trading cards here Pokemon things like that hello have hats here as well wow I don't know if you can tell but there's a real size to this Market here uh let me ask you tell me in the comment section he negotiating in Korea is that like acceptable thing in other parts of Asia when you come to markets you can negotiate on the price of items tell me is this an acceptable thing here oh really cool watches more clothing and then you also have storefronts next to the market these markets are always so fun to do here in Asia and this is like the first proper one I've been to I went to Guang Jang or no I went to Mayon dong Market in Soul and that was the real Market it was more heavy on the street food to say I've noticed like things are very quiet in Korea like even when you're in Soul depending on where you are for the most part things are just there's like a real quiet energy which is peaceful it's good I'm saying this is a good thing so I do believe I've stumbled upon books Street and you can see a really cool art here of this man reading here I think sitting on oh I was going to say pile of books but books behind him and I think these drawings go all the way up here now I don't know if there's books up here but I do think I see books down here so this is the first book shop here I am fascinated by bookstores oh these look really old school books oh Spirited Away actually this is all gibl studio so gibl Studios a famous anime uh production company and all of these are movies from Gib Studio they're Spirited Away the most popular one and that's something Wild Ride uh princess Moni uh I've seen all of these like I haven't watched them all but anyway I'm rambling looks like some Manga Here like Demon Slayer stuff in Korean I assume other mangas wow even old school ones a very cool very very cool wow wasn't expecting to see that magazine book store the best gifts yeah I think books I always tend to give people books as gifts I do think they are the best gifts oh so cool so cool is that Dragon Ball yeah Dragon Ball W I was expecting more like nonfiction and fiction but a lot of this is like manga there's a pretty highly rated chicken restaurant over here maybe it's open hopefully it's open it says it's open but I found that that's not always accurate on Google is this it chicken lovely yeah that's it it's not open oh man I want this chicken really bad yeah it says it's open looks like it's just opening up uh 10 minutes okay okay I went with the went with a sweet spicy and also cheese sticks cuz they look really good and of course you get all the uh the extras that come with a Korean meal and yeah no no alcohol to that just uh some water so so wow guys I was not expecting this but the M sticks also come with fries yes sure they're going to be hot look at this well folks like another unexpected thing is a massive Fortune of chicken and I already housed all that fried food so I was like should I eat all this fried food probably shouldn't have but you know what here we are it's probably Bolton hot yeah not super spicy I can I highly recommend that restaurant chicken lovely you get a huge portion the owner is very very friendly and uh it's about 26,000 wand for that so uh $15 $20 in that range so for the amount of food you get pretty incredibly
