then he will keep us till the very end hallelujah hallelujah at this time we will go into our scripture reading which will be taken from first John chapter 4 and will read from verses 1 to 10 we are going to be reading with sister Jill from Bethel Portmore first John chapter 4 verses 1 to 10 if you have found it please say Amen and we will read alternately that which was from the beginning which we have heard which we have seen with our eyes which we have looked upon and or our hands had filled and of the Word of Life first darlin first john one versus one to ten please pardon me beloved believe not every spirit but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world [Applause] and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and that this is that of is the spirit of Antichrist whereof ye have heard but that it should come and even now already is it in the world they of the world therefore speak know her son was shot this morning and it's very hard on the Family and the Roy Evans is out there right now with sister opal and also brother key Thomas is at this moment in the accident and emergency area of the university hospital suffering from a cloth in the blood clot in the leg so we just want to remember them in Pearl and all the other requests that we have received just pray one for the other but please just lift up sister Alicia and her family this morning and the Thomas's family in Pearl praise God close to me again [Music] [Music] she sucks oh Jesus Jesus hallelujah cheese's Lord as I come before your presence Lord Jesus we come before a holy God hallelujah we come before a righteous God we come before a God that is touched with the very feelings of our infirmities we come before a comforting God we come before a god that understands our needs and Oh God I understand all the tears of our hearts Jesus we come before you today there is nothing that you these report driving fear if it's not for young man it's fear of tomorrow it's fear of faces it's fear of illness yours are so much fear God but today Jesus we stand resolute because we know that is the healing God we know the views of God that comforts wheels and not as we put these family members before your presence this is sally's anatomists family God you see and you know Lord we said healing Lord Jesus The Situation's wants us to believe that you don't healer but God we said healing in the name of Jesus Lord we send comfort to the family there are so many family members are the fail but we are not failures why Jesus you said to Jeremiah before he was born you knew him and so you know each and every one of us and I pray God Almighty that our ministries will come for it I pray God Almighty that Lord Jesus you will grant unto all turtle alert Jesus I pray about life that you will feel yourself unto us that when we are out on the battlefield we will stand resolute that means one God and he says that he delivers we will not give you any false doctrine in Jesus name we will not bow to the system of man in Jesus name we will know our status in you God Almighty we will know that we are children of God hallelujah we will not backslide in Jesus name Lord Jesus I prayer against the spirit of witchcraft Lord Jesus I pray against the spirit of homosexuality and their tendencies that it will not be named amorous cheese's no cheese are the spirit me I ain't trafficking human trafficking Lord Jesus there are not of our children God Comoros Lord Jesus that when we status whether it's us you're at the mall or you just had something great to eat so that there are people who see and then I know that you go out or as I need to check how many views you got on that post right and you feel really good when you see a lot of views for somebody posts right young people yes no man don't be shy near man you know you're checking those views on who viewed especially who view the status so one of the things when I think about what's up on the status and what you're posting on your posting so that people can see and it's the same thing when we talk about number sign that number sign that's what hashtag status connected to god we want people to see so that when you are constantly connected to him every Sunday morning you're updating every to the night you're updating every Friday or updating every Wednesday every time you read your Bible every time you fast and pray you're updated and as your update that's that's awesome so the people around you see how you are connected Jesus and then you can see how many people have just viewed and know who God is and who you are some just reminding us all to keep updating our status in Jesus so we can stay amen amen brethren praise God holy greetings to all our young people young people's presidents let me start off by saying greetings to our young people director and the officer in charge of today Minister Roy Evans praise God to turn hands together for him hard-working news director hard-working officer in this church I have seen him back yet he went out just to give support to the Brethren over there in Harborview you would have remembered that we were out in a half of you for a long time during our month of evangelism and quite a few persons have been coming from that area and we just want to support them during this time of their bereavement a lot of them are not here today because the incident happened just about when they were getting ready to come to church so let's continue to pray much for them greetings also to all the other youth presidents in the halls since our own sister Jody is not here but her two very well-seasoned health in the personal Minister Nico Allen and brother - in Lawrence put your hands together for them praise God praise God - hard-working young person in this church and they really have been working hard with young people to get them to just stay in Jesus and just to keep on keeping on praise God our national youth president and our speaker for today sister Zahra Oliphant praise God welcome and to all the Brethren who came with her let me pastoral overseen so we really want to thank God for him this morning the work of a pastor is not an easy one and you know when he started out he asked that all we do is to pray much for him let me see the hands of those who pray for their pastor okay some of you're honest enough you don't pray let me encourage you pray much for your pastor it is not an easy task not an easy task brethren and he needs every bit of your support in / so next week we will come out and share with him how much we love and appreciate him and they officers the greeters not the greeters rushers have some envelopes which they will be given out they would have started giving them out already if you have not yet received one let me ask you encourage you to take on envelope and just put whatever the Lord has laid on your heart to bless your pastor in the name of Jesus so let's come out next week collect an envelope and come next week as we just honor the of God in Jesus name on December 14th less than a month away we will have our 50th anniversary banquet and this will be happening at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel and I'm just reminding all of you who have your tickets do not lose them we do not have any more to give so do not lose them those of you who have asked me to put away tickets for you you need to see me today after today I cannot guarantee that you will have tickets you will get any more tickets so please come and see me today and let's just get ready for our 50th anniversary banquet praise God it will be an exciting time and we have been celebrated throughout the entire year and the banquet is one of the few activities that we have left and we are inviting you to make an effort to be there it will be a grand time in Jesus name so let me invite you just to stand at this time remember to he gave us Jesus he gave us himself and he made us his child so we're thankful this morning for him making me me Lord thank you for making me sorrow Lord thank you making me me and there are some of us that haven't gotten to that point yet but we're gonna get there amen I greet you all in the wonderful exalted marvelous beautiful absolutely amazingly phenomenal all the great objectives that I can think of name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ praise the Lord hallelujah greeting so pastor Lewis and his family in their absence greetings to sister Jeanne associate pastor Jeanne greetings to our central district president brother Dechaine Lawrence can we give him a hand praise God hallelujah he is you all know he's the central district president right yes he is and let me report this a gene that he has been doing a very wonderful job he has been doing very wonderful so I'm sorry to tell you I'm sorry to break it to you that he's not just your brother Dechaine he's our brother the shame so he belongs to the Central District so we have borrowed him for a while and and I give God thanks for him and the support that he has been to the national youth committee his support has been invaluable and he's already making an impact in the churches last week Wednesday we were at Lloyds and so the churches know him they know his face they know his name and they're getting to know him more and more and he is depositing all that he can in them for this period of time so please pray for him pray his strength as he works locally and on the national committee greetings to minister Roy Evans in his absence the brother Niko sister Judy and greetings to all you wonderful Saints the brother Lamar from Lloyds bless you doing an awesome job over there yes it's so good it's his work is to be commended the lights young people are on fire they're on fire it's not a large group but they are on fire for God greetings sister shiny and the youth from poor Moore and the beautiful young people of South Kemper can I see the South Carroll just jump up and give a shout of praise one more time young people from South kappa praise the Lord it is good it is good that we continue to pray for the work that is happening here also I bring greetings from my pastor elder Willis in the name of the Lord and I think I have covered everyone and so let us hear what the Lord has to say to us this morning amen it's children's and youth sir Youth Sunday so I don't want to lose them I want them to be awake and alert young people look at me young people know that busy looking outside what's it's okay we have them behind me you're with me right where are your Bibles you don't have any Bibles don't worry we have a lot of adults that will read for us this morning let's turn to the book of 2nd chronicles 22 we're gonna start with verses 10 to 12 I love the the choir the minister of the choir this morning I love the choir director oh my god my sister I love you I don't remember your name but hid in the house of God six years and Athaliah reigned over the land amen we will be going through the scripture this morning as we speak both to the young people and the young at heart Amen because once you're under 101 you are young so the scripture this morning tells what we just read tells the story of a lady named diphallia and she was a mother of a king children know what a king is right we having the Kings in Jamaica yes somebodies know somebody says we are working I need to find out who is the king in Jamaica come again who is the king my God in heaven my god of glory we have a king in Jamaica Jesus Christ of Nazareth out of the mouths of babes and sucklings Who am I to disagree so I found I was the mother of the king and when her son died when her son died what she thought was a good idea was not to have the kingdom go to her other sons to his other sons but her her idea was if her son is dead this is my opportunity to take over this is my opportunity to rule and so what she did was she killed she sent out an order to kill all the children of her son and her son's name was Ahaziah so she wanted to kill all the children all the young people look at these beautiful young people before us look at them how can somebody with a mother's heart have the heart to see go and kill children all because she was selfish and she wanted to rule but it would just so happen that although she made an order to kill the children there was a plan there was something that was put in place from many years before where the Lord said that he would not hello the scepter to depart out of the house of David a king a son of David will always sit on the throne and so there was a lady on auntie let me see the hands of those who are auntie's in the house auntie are any auntie's in the house praise the Lord we have some auntie's in the hall until did you know that you are not just regular auntie there's under-21 that's an auntie to God be the glory it can be an auntie at any age I can't put your hand on oh there was an auntie in the house there was an aunt that was looking out for her nephews her nieces I'm not auntie didn't just take her role as as something that is said that's okay I'm auntie Sarah I am auntie Shani I'm auntie Danielle she took her responsibilities seriously and I don't have to ask I'm sure that if she could have saved everyone she would have saved everyone but she was only able to save one child just one and his name was Josh and while the Queen when the Queen sent her the order to kill all the children she saved auntie can we can we give her a nickname because the Jaeho shabbiha is a little little long so let's just call her Auntie Jaeho that sounds nice so auntie Jaeho save the her nephew Josh and she took him and she hid him in her bedroom and he was hidden and what was her bedchamber was a huge place it was like a hose and she hid him for six years so that the Athaliah the queen would not be able to kill him so italia wanted to kill all the children but there was an ant that stood up to her responsibilities so what we don't just call ourselves aunties we have a responsibility to look out for our children we are our nation is in crisis by the way I love the prayer that was prayed by our young sister she touched on some of the points that I will touch later on and looking at some of the data our children are in crisis and a lot of them don't have a mother or a father figure that will rescue them the enemy has centres are called to destroy them you know who the enemy is children who is the enemy yeah so is the enemy who is our enemy a bad guy a bad guy who is our enemy Satan is our enemy who is our enemy enemy is Satan God wants to destroy us Satan wants to destroy us yes well it's the one who is our enemy devil is already there there's a hard way over here yes who is our enemy somebody who wants to kill us somebody who wants to kill us is there anybody trying to kill us right now yes the devil the enemy Satan so you all of you are correct the enemy wants to kill us he wants to kill our young people our young people are not just our future they're also our present they are very much here you all are very much here with us right now and so the enemy wants to kill and so the Lord has set us up us who are older to be that aren't Jaeho in their lives because we have a lot of young people among us that don't have that have a Natalia literally they have a mother a father that when they get home these adults are these uncles are whatever their their only intent is to destroy them to beat them until they're blue or to beat them with their words to say things to them that hurt and tear them down so so also our the on TJ hos and the uncle J Lo's we are here sitting in the congregation on a Sunday morning not just to look at them but to be that in that position of a rescuer for them that is what the Lord has called us to do so we we have to literally rescue them so so aunt J who took the child and either in our bedroom normal days if I go and try and take this it's a cute one here and carry him home of course sister Jean going to call the police to come for me and then you know it went beyond the newest sisters very kidnap a young boy and whatever but maybe I was trying to rescue him sometimes we might not be able to take them out right but what do we do when we have them in our space so for that six years aunt J who who was married to the priest jehoiada they hid him from the Queen because they didn't want him to be slain they didn't want him to be killed we have to hide our young people we have to hide them with our priors we have to hide them with our words or positive words our words that don't destroy them that don't come down on them and tell them that that you expected this to happen or even though I look Oh atone how we talk to our young people did you know that it makes a very large difference what your tone says if I come to see such events this is a gene you're looking lovely today with a smile yes together thank you as opposed to me coming to sister Gina saying boy she says you look good you know what's the difference the difference is that even if I really think she look good based on my tone based on my expression based on my body language she doesn't see that she doesn't see election look good probably thinks at all actually some woman have one you know so we see our young people that maybe want to say a word of encouragement who want to say a word a nice word to them but sometimes a way we said it Doreen its own - nice you can do better look at my church every day you can do better would mean whether you know what because I've always say they don't come off well so the child is left thinking that she was actually thinking that she trying but no she feel like she hasn't even started to try so I'm saying that when we are hiding our children like hold on javelin and uncle jehoiada hit that child what they did in that time period that they had that child was they could deposit the word into him they could deposit love they could give him something that he was lacking from the environment that he's coming from and that's what we want to do for our children if we haven't been doing it before let's start no and if we have already been doing it let us let us continue and let us get even better at it amen so we're going that is in the young people he is the Holy Ghost that leads us into all truth so the same truth that dwells in sister Abigail is the same shoes that dwells in me because we are both filled with the power of the Holy Ghost so lord might use abigail to come and tell me something the Lord might use her to come and pray for me young people you ever felt like pray for an adult be honest ever felt like pray for somebody in church and other than just because the older than you do but ago yeah it has happened don't it I went tell me brother Kevin what do why do you feel like you can't go and pray for that other person tell me be honest with us miss like sometimes you know like hear God talking to you right you knew that it's God talking to you it just can't stop the voice in your head you want to stop at any time stuff II know sometimes you hear God talking to you and sometimes the person you must in it to Jesus had a person a a senator I don't know and sometimes he bills of fear comes over you like you feel really fearful because of the person that you're going to and sometimes I I shy away from me there's only one time I've ever been that brief to do it and what was the reaction not so good so I normally shy away from doing so you're scarred for I know because the end result was not so good life but you know I am hesitant to do it again that's why young person speaking right I know ever that person is if they're in the congregation we don't hold anything against anybody right I'm saying that we don't want our young people in our assemblies greetings to those on YouTube god bless you my youtubers and Internet people we don't want those in our congregations to feel like whole brother Kevin feels if the Lord so leads us to pray with somebody we shouldn't have to worry if this adult is going to shun me if this adult is going to put up a face to say that you are not in a position to pray for me right because at the end of the day the same spirit that dwells within it's not an age determinant factor the Lord fills and uses whosoever he will and the Lord used Josh to instruct jehoiada and generally that did what it is that she needed to do and all was well and all was good but young people this is where I talk to you because I spoke to the adults this is where I speak to you the Bible said that George did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of jehoiada the priest watching while I was alive and well Josh did that which was right in the sight of the Lord but there comes a day when those who have gone before us pass on you know that young people when I was your age and I never think about my mother father dying idea I used to say nope not going to happen it won't happen I could not I could not accept that it was going to happen it's still not easy to accept it they're both still alive I love them very much but it is an inevitability because either we're going to die we're going to be raptured right so one way or the other so eventually my mom my mom is the one that instructed us in the word as children because my dad got saved a little later after and this is the same with Josh jehoiada instructed him in the word and brought him up in the sight of the Lord he became a great king and a righteous king but let's turn to verse 15 of second chronicles 24 verse 15 we found it's amen but jehoiada walks all that was full of days when he died 130 years old was he when he died and they buried him in the city we suppose be reading together let's go again 1 2 and they buried him 1 2 and they buried him in the City of David among the Kings because he had done good in Israel both toward God and toward his hosts now after the death of jehoiada came the princes of Judah and made obeisance to the king then the King hearkened unto them and they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers and served groves and idols and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this was their trespass yet he sent prophets to them to bring them again unto the Lord and they testified against them but they would not give air let's pause right there do we see what's happening Jeremiah that young people was 130 or so anybody know anybody wants to go into that turkey you had the patent or some way that should be under than 3000 well you know wow that's amazing that's absolutely amazing 130 years older Joanna died and when approach this uncle so here they come they saw an opportunity they saw a vulnerability this our young person a young man that had just lost something important to him this are a door open to come and to feed in some words that I don't know what they said but whatever they said to the king the King hearkened the king listened to them and first verse 7 verse 18 said that they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers then backslide and they served groves and idols and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this theirs their trespass so we're talking about status connected to Jesus right we're talking about having a connection and even for a new converse you know there are some new converts who come into the house of the Lord and they are they have a father figure or a mother figure that they so look up to a removal of that mentor in their life shakes their faith and even some old converts have some persons in our lives that when they when they when they are moved all so far away their faith is or faith is shaken we've heard of persons who a grandmother grandfather their parents died and they are so shaken that they work straight out of the church because they couldn't handle that grief they couldn't handle that situation and so they leave praise Jesus and so that is the situation that happened here whatever it is that these persons saw and said what they said to Josh cause an entire nation to backslide Josh turned away from the Lord perhaps they went and they said if God was God your uncle wouldn't have died perhaps they said if God was God he would have cared more about you your know left motherless fatherless nothing to your name perhaps they said that you're worthless you're not a good king you can't rule without somebody so you're going to have to turn to these idols that are helping all the other nations but whatever they said they saw an opportunity and an open door to go in when the young people when this young man was vulnerable so you see when I talk about us being aunties and uncles in Zion is not it's not a joke we have to see through spiritual eyes to see when our young people are at their most vulnerable state when brother Kevin was feeling like he can't go to this person feeling like he's shutting off his ministry he needed an auntie and uncle to come and encourage him to say don't hold back on the Lord don't hold back on God and I'm not causing any blame on anyone in here I'm just saying that this is it's just an ideal scenario because we inclusive there are a lot of times and we don't or eyes aren't open enough to see what is happening around us and not just for young people on brothers and sisters sometimes in in in the time of vulnerability when grief strikes when when things are happening that's a time that they need persons to come and encourage them not to be miserable comforters at what job hell so Josh was a young man that after his mentor died he forsook the way of the Lord yeah just get up on gone tell me who in church is it that you look up to anybody in charge you look up to anyone in church anybody in church that you say yeah I like them there they're big but you know they're all right I think I'm not explaining myself too well is there anyone you look up to in church who is that that this young lady right here somebody on the choir that you look up to that's good you can't remember say no have to find out who they are what is your name what is your story is everything all right at home when was the last time some of us asked them if everything is all right at home some of us don't even know if they live with their mother father of dead living with some grandmother our uncle that we don't present we don't put ourselves in the space so that if something is happening and if they are being abused we can be the ones to help them a child who is abused always looks to find somebody that they can talk to but there's no way that they can talk what happens is sitting it for the rest of know it's true jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so that's how we know it's true no we're not singing it yet so what happened with George was a sad kiss he killed somebody that was like a brother figure for him and his end he was at the end of the day he was assassinated by servants he wasn't even buried where the Kings were buried and when he was assassinated the Bible said that his servants killed him because of what basically because of his treatment to jehoiada and the the principles that he taught him so his servants were so torn about no Jewish switch and become this evil King that they killed him for it George had a good grandpa grandpa ASA was his grandpa he had a goal was great-grandpa ASA grandpa Jehoshaphat so he had good grandfather's he had a good father figure and yet he only did right when the priest was alive young people we cannot earn the right when we were in church we're in Jamaica where we know somebody will see us because some of you are gonna go off to different country we have to live right because it is what we know because our status is one that is connected to Jesus and so we're not going to stray from the path God is a God of love and He loves us and he extended his hand towards us and so if there's anything if there's nothing that you're going to remember about today I want you young people to remember this know God for yourself love him for yourself follow your mentors as much as you want look up the sister Hilton as much as you want but always see Jesus beyond and it is good to have mentors all the young people I'm asking us to not ignore young people not ignore our children befriend them and I'll shameful shamelessly plug come to youth service night and spend some time with them amen see what they're doing know what they're doing what are they doing a new service what's happening there some of us don't know because we've never been we have to put ourselves in the positions to get to know our young people and to talk to them it's you essential during Sunday and this is the opportunity that we have to talk about them all we want but after today are we gonna forget and then couple months on a level say oh yes one sister the community says her she's a preacher good message teach preach teach a good message and is it good enough yeah and that's all it was how can we change how can we change our interaction with our beautiful children and young people look at them are they not beautiful do we remember when we were younger no do remember when we were at 12 when we were 10 15 you remember what it felt like when an adult gave you a commendation gave you a sweetie because it did something good give you a bad a fruit because you know just because it did something good and other would come and give you something here yeah times like that sister Jean we have a sister that always give us sweetie phileas I have a good teeth cuz all them suited immediate eats I don't know how it would I go other ways but do we remember those times when we remember those times I just think can i replicate that in this 2019 Internet technology era can i replicate that and extend something to them you're made us feel good and lets us do the same for our children amen I'm gonna ask all the children to stand from ages if you are up to 19 years old no before that those were 10 to 19 stand 10 years old to 19 years old stand come on up last night 10 to 19 yeah 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 church look at them do you see them keep standing young people let me share something with you church young people listen carefully listen Shh listen did you know that in 2016 of the 317 persons who were seen at hospitals for attempted suicide 125 of them that's 39 point four percent of them were from this age group 10 to 19 in 2017 of the 263 people who attempted suicide 121 are 46 percent of them were from this age group a looking at right here last year 2018 of the 240 persons that attempted suicide 99 of them which is 40 one point two five percent are from this age group that is the 10 to 19 age group accounts for only sixteen point two percent of the entire population of Jamaica and yet the highest suicide prevalence attempted suicide prevalence comes from this age group that you're looking at today what does that mean look at them look at this beautiful set of young people and yet in Jamaica they are the ones and this is only the numbers that get to the hospital they are the ones who whatever situations whatever circumstances they face this is the age group where they feel like it is so hard the only owed for them is a transient in life ten to nineteen years old I want you to have a very good look at them you are you here turn around so that they can see you yeah I know it's kind of awkward but still turn around they need to look at you turn around the congregation needs to see your face they're so shy look at them they're so cute they're so shy thank you have you looked Church is this a group that needs protection this is a group that we need to look out for why is it that so many of them are seen at our hospitals a year in a year because they try to take their own lives what is happening and what can we do as a church aside from coming here every Sunday and going through the motions and speaking in tongues and then go back home what can we do to make sure that they are preserved thank you can sit and just to mention that of all the persons that attempt suicide from 10 years old all the way up to old age seventy one percent of them are females our girls are trying to kill themselves our young ladies are trying to kill themselves what can we do about it and interestingly enough 71 percent of persons to attempt suicide are emails of all those who actually go through and finish and commit suicide 91 percent are males so the women are trying but I guess sister Jean we're not brave enough it is a men that are succeeding at it men account for 91% of suicide cases in Jamaica why are our men killing themselves our sister Priya earlier mentioned missing persons in 2018 2299 people were reported missing can you get so many what the percentage of that for children 45 nope not 90 nope 70% of those reported missing last year were children by the end of the year fortunately 1768 were returned but 368 persons were still unaccounted for by the end of the year 199 of them were children that means there are 199 families right now that are still every morning they wake up they remember their child is missing they go through the day and they remember their child is missing when we look at persons that are committing crimes of all the persons that are arrested for committing crimes it's a carefully let me see all those 25 to 34 standing for 25 to 34 stand 25 to 34 what a minute Excel I had to calculate a little bit 25 to 30 for 910 persons from this age group were arrested for category 1 crimes murder rape warning with intent assault came from this age group 910 people 32 percent of all those who were arrested came from this age group you can sit from the 18 from 15 to 34 that age group alone accounted for 75% of persons that were arrested and guess who the majority were the men the men and who are the victims all the victims are actually not just the females of all the people that were arrested last year 81 females were arrested on 2757 men were arrested and this is just those who were arrested because a lot of criminals were not caught and most of them belong to the young age group let's look at the victims MICR those who are 15 to 34 stand 15 years old a 31st and 15 to 34 alright Lotteria see that's why I'm not hearing for the 15 to 17 years 274 persons were victim of category 1 crimes 18 to 24 years one thousand two hundred and thirty five persons in this age category were victims of category one crimes 25 to 34 year old age group 1620 people in this age group were victims of category one crimes have a seat let me see those 35 to 44 don't be shy 35 to 44 this age group accounted for listen I'm not talking numbers losing you but listen 30 of 25 to 34 year old age group 1620 persons in this age group were victims of category 1 crimes in 2018 this is a largest number and of that number 507 were females 1113 were means you may be seated so what I'm saying is that there's so much issues there are so many issues that are happening and it is affecting the young people and the data proves it and so it is even more important that as a church we mentor our young people and we help them to stay connected to Jesus young people you don't want to be part of the statistic you don't want to be a child that is missing what if when you're praying remember remember please 199 children are still missing from last year did nobody knows where they are and we don't want our children to continue being a liability a target of the enemy we don't want the enemy to operate like how he did enjoy time where when George was at his most vulnerable point that's when the enemy went in and just talked all kind of foolishness he's going to try that but what can we do we have to be the one to stand up in front of the young people and block that foolishness from coming in we can't just allow other person's to come in and to feed them with garbage it's so important that the food that they eat the spiritual food is one that is relevant and good for them praise the Lord so I know this isn't the type of message that you might be accustomed to but I really want this to sink in that our young people are in a danger zone they're in a danger zone they are targeted on the outside and unfortunately they're also targeted in our churches but the church is where it where we we present that haven for them to be rescued we have to be that aunty ji ho we have to be that uncle jehoiada in their lives our young people we have to stay connected to Jesus who we're doing it for who we're doing it for say it louder for the people at the back same with us older young people we stay connected to Jesus for ourselves those in our space that we love might die they'll eventually die things might not go the way we want it to go but because of that are we going to turn our backs on the Lord and go outside some of us have some co-workers that give us some very bad counsel some of us have some people at our universities that give us bad cones so that encourage us to turn our back on God because he's not doing anything for us that tells us that there is no God but we have to remember the principles that we were taught how we were grown in the world and we have to walk in it for ourselves and not for anybody else it is a relationship between us and Jesus not a relationship between us and the so the pastor is there to be your guide or mentors are there to be our guide and to help us along the way but we have to know God for ourselves our status has to be a deep connection no teef can't come T if the cable line let with them I do it flow and digital I another connection at home our connection has to be a deep connection that it doesn't matter what the storm is it doesn't matter what the circumstance sis are it doesn't matter what the situation is that we face we stay connected to Jesus because we know him for ourselves he is my god before he was presented to me as a child he was presented to me as my mother's God he was a God of my mom but no he is my god I know him for myself I know what salvation means I know I have my own testimonies or young people need to have your own testimonies because the testimonies that will keep us when we get to that point in life where where our logical mind starts saying to us there is no God what is a testimony we can hold on to say he is real if we don't have that testimony to say he is real young people it's gonna be hard to hold on because trust me I went through that I shared that earlier at convocation with you I went through that time when my logical mind started battering me I'm proving with all the proofs that he could come up with that Jesus is not real that this God thing is just a myth I had to get into that space where I literally leaned on my own testimonies if I didn't have my testimonies to keep me I might have just stepped right out of church or become the shell that some people are the shell of a person that comes to church that follows all the motions but in the mind there is do't if God is real or what testimonies are what anchor us to God when we talk about stay connected if we don't have that experience we won't know him he will forever be brother Michaels God and forever be sister jeans God how can we make him over god we have to transcend into that position where he is my god we have to know him you're so young you're so beautiful you're growing you're growing and right now this is just church that you come to anything and yes jesus loves me and yes the Bible tells me so but as young as you are you can have a testimony God healed me I was sick mommy prayed God healed me that is my testimony that's how I know God is real so as I stay connected let us not just say it because it sounds good let's re-evaluate our lives Lord am I really connected am I really really connected to you do I actually know you for myself or am i leaning on somebody else's testimonies can the only testimony eyes III stand and say is when I look back over my life and I think things over I can truly say that God is but I am best I have a testimony I sit back down when we pause and think of our lives do we see God in it or do we see the ritual that we have become accustomed to what do we see do we see God or do we just see coming to church on a Sunday morning who is he to us doesn't matter what age we are who is he to us and what are we going to do when we recognize that Lord and we're just eyes I said lord I actually don't know who you are to me all this time you were just my father or my mother or sister Jane's God are you reading my god we have to put ourselves in a position to get to know him we have to read his word spend time in prayer and when look I'm telling you when we ask the Lord to give us that testimony he's going to give us that testimony he's gonna put us in you put us in some situations because we have to pray our way through them he's will do things just to draw out of us what he needs to get from us and for him to do that he works upon the good desires of our heart so if before if we recognize know that lord I actually don't know who you are to me all we have to do just say to him Lord I want to know you for myself and that desire is a good desire and you will work upon the good desire Lord I want to know you for myself god bless you do you know my Chi do you know my know Jesus for yourself young people know Jesus for yourself others look into yourself and ask yourself do I really know him for myself because I can testify to the fact that all along I grew up with the same parents but when I came to Kingston when I came from as it were under their covering where I could hear them prayed for me every Wednesday morning every Saturday morning every Sunday morning when I came to Kingston I realized that I had to pray for myself yes I know they were there praying for me but I couldn't hear them and I depended on those purse so much I realize I have to know him for myself and I had to get serious now and find a space where I could have this relationship with this man Jesus because all along I thought I had won and so today we are challenged to get connected for ourself the speaker asks what is your status are you really connected do you really know him let me invite you to stand let me invite the young people if you feel that you are not truly connected today the altar is open if you're in the hosts today and you have not yet given your life to Jesus you are not connected with him and you need to get connected with Jesus the altar is open huh I know this man of whom we speak today he is a burden bearer he is a young man's keeper he is a young earth keeper but above all he is the savior of the world and he wants to save you today so as we sing
