Barn Find Miata - First Wash in 5 Years! (Extremely Satisfying)

hey guys adam money right nick here look at this thing was that good it was good it was great i've been practicing to do this good not good colette what's going on here makeover day with the miata so i think one of the the most exciting parts about this car after seeing it and knowing it was sitting for five years it's going to be insanely satisfying washing this car and we've literally been arguing over who gets to do it so we decided we were just going to do it together because it is going to be insanely gratifying seeing this thing transform so you want to we'll do a quick walk around in case you guys didn't catch us scoring this sick barn find we were buying some go-karts colette spotted this thing off in the distance kind of jokingly asked if it was for sale everything's for sale for the right price that was his line and it worked yeah dude we left with a trailer full of a lot of stuff since everyone did the math in the last video i'll just go ahead and say um we paid so i did i did wrong math in the video 50 technically technically yeah or 750 between 650 and 750 dollars and but it is an insane deal but we didn't know if it ran or not we didn't know if it was just a bad engine like he didn't know anything either so it was kind of like we took the wrist and we got lucky plans for the car engine bay exterior interior we don't have a top so we're gonna have to be kind of careful watching the outside of it um but this this is gonna be the most satisfying car and we'll do that first just we don't splatter all the gunk all over the rest of the car to be fair it's really impressive how clean it is yeah like this is what really sold me when you popped it and it just looked so clean no like oil everywhere i was like this might be a really good deal well the cool thing is the cool thing about it too is there's no like no one's been like modifying things and putting air filters and yeah you know like six-speed hardware on it no turbo kits or junk coilovers on this thing engine swaps no forged engines [Music] so [Music] we really need to drain the gas in it it's like sputtering badly with five-year-old gas yeah i feel like he was a 81 octane type of guy too maybe got our little wash base set up she's never driven a miata and i'm so excited to see a smile on her face you can just drive like this like a flintstones car i can't you can so this is gonna be the most satisfying thing too look at this interior yeah she's crusty i think i'm gonna let it run for a minute just so the engine bay gets hot i feel like that'll help loosen some stuff well we've been having some water issues um i'm gonna share with you guys i don't know if you mean this video or another video we've had a power washing company doing some really sick work here but it used all our water and now we don't have any water and it won't come back we're gonna go hopefully have water on the other side of property [Music] so we are going to be using a bunch of grido's products as we are kind of going over this car i thought this would be a cool kind of way to introduce that grios is actually an official sponsor this year of my fd program so they're going to be supporting us the fd team we're going to have all the detailing stuff we need if you guys aren't already familiar with their stuff you can find in just about any auto parts store we've actually been using it for a while shulman loves it in this video we'll kind of share some of the products that we use often and why we use them engine cleaner we use a lot kind of just spray it let it sit for a bit we'll use the brush to agitate it up but you got me on that brush life let it sit for a few minutes to loosen up all the dirt and stuff this engine honestly is so good already that it's kind of not not the best example of what some of the stuff can do because it's already so clean just from water so the reason why we're doing this first if we watch the car first we'd be like kind of splattering dirt and stuff all over so just kind of agitated it up she's got the more coarse brush i've got the softer one [Music] and it was pretty much done we realized that we forgot to do underside of the hood which we probably should have done first um so we're gonna do is wash the car and then at the end we're gonna go do the underside of the hood and then power wash the engine bay once more and then we'll like do some final dressing on it to make it look really nice we're gonna be really careful with the pressure washer in case there's like a little part where the clear might come up because sometimes you can just pressure wash it'll take the clear right off work i'm using some of the brilliant finish car wash for both the wash and for the foam gun [Music] i'm kind of getting annoyed because this thing's cleaning up so well just with water i want a big transformation over here [Music] so colette is telling me that the wheel cleaner smells like dentist it does it smells like dentist office my should read and then the other one smells like watermelon smells like mint toothpaste i don't know what kind of dentist y'all are going to this is like the fluoride you know the stuff they cleaned with there's like cherry or weird flavors they had that's what it sounds like [Music] [Music] so colette's about to have her very first foam cannon experience it's either gonna be really funny or really satisfying why funny because i don't know how you're gonna do this with no top here oh yeah have fun i've done yeah i've never done one that you do at your home i've only done like the drive-in wash stuff wait you just go for it yeah what do you have it on like extra settings so i'm gonna like oh that's not extra no we're gonna have to end up washing the interior [Music] [Music] you're okay all right now that you've covered everything in here yeah oh no i get the new map no swirls only side to side [Music] you can hear there's so much stuff in the paint so uh heroes makes this really cool um it's kind of like a synthetic clay on a little mitt so you can do it in a lot of different times um right now kind of add a laziness i'm going to do it while the car's still wet there's a little bit of their detailer spray is obviously going to put some surface scratches in but typically you'd buff after cleaning the car anyway but this should make a huge difference we'll see a lot better clarity in the paint [Music] so i'm kind of using the ceramic speed shine as like a drying aid i think it's going over with a clean rag just kind of buffing it off but it makes the drying process a little bit easier it'll give it a little bit more shine [Music] black satin not super glossy if you hate super glossy tires like me i even like to spray it and then rub it just so it isn't a crazy crazy glossy finish kind of make sure it gets all in there all in all uh we probably only have about two hours like washing this thing and doing like a super super quick detail we're gonna go bring it over to the shop so we can do the interior and um put some like dressing on the engine bay to make it look nicer but we're gonna pull it into the sun for the first time clean no words [Music] ali look at that thing did colette mention on uh video that it still has working ac i don't think so that's sick yeah first try ice cold much needed the color on this thing popping out already you can see there's some like white overspray or something in the paint yeah it might have came out if i was a little bit more aggressive with the clay but it's hard to tell with the amount of metallic that's in it but i like this color i know it's a very common color but [Music] i'm so excited i really needed a daily after we sold the rs6 i haven't seen this thing in person yet paul i have convinced him to buy something so pumped it's awesome turbo timer is a good idea that dude yeah mike's car in there causing a rocket uh ruckus rocket a rocket the redneck isn't it yeah yeah you ready for it ready for it yeah that's a unit i'm so excited that doesn't look like oem paint does it i mean i'm pumped dude that looks like it's a fresh respray a good track it's a great tractor there was one time in my life i felt zen in a car i brought a mic's car to go get a haircut never been more relaxed in the morning in my life yep he told me he needed a daily i told him to get an ls400 he was like nah that's not cool enough so then i told him to get a celsius that thing's clean and then now he's tasting nothing licking the jdm dust off of it let's pull her out oh it doesn't smell nice like mike did you no you don't really smell that good it might smell like that versace cream yeah fire this bad girl up fire this unit up come on god that is not nope cleared her out god this thing is clean i bought the hood on the spot dude this thing is so clean it's really dirty it's dirty but it's clean look at the seat covers dude you gotta change these wheels mikey yeah what are you thinking i'm thinking american racing no no no no yeah i think this paint should come back pretty good there's definitely some like deep scratches but no it doesn't look bad at all i feel like this is actually a pretty good car to learn to buff i've never really buffed a car because i don't trust myself you can burn right through this one all right mike let's go home now all right surprise excuse me mr mr president mr president he cannot be stopped right now i'm like pretty like i'm sorry i'm never really excited about it he's a kid in the candy store right now this is like it's like having a rental car but it's mine and i can do whatever i want and there's no penalties or credit card charges i like that oh i'm calling how do i open the hood now son take your time you're about to behold greatness oh god that's a oh those shots are bad take it back ready get the laptop out i knew you were looking for the air filter you idiot big tummy you big dumb dummy air filter over here man you got finesse oh it runs really well does it does it because it sounds perfect there's no let's do a burnout it'll do a one wheel that's it that's it it's got to be light enough so we can still get it with a magic eraser want your purchase or your car is also here too yeah the car is cool um i like that it is a smooth ride kind of feels like you're on a boat that's cool it's not an r33 i'll like it more when i get my little vip table right here okay so cool back to me out of content we had to dip out early yesterday so we just kind of stopped uh at the wash but today we're gonna do part two which is detailing the interior of this thing so really just got to take everything out vacuum it wipe it down and then we'll see how crazy we want to get in terms of like extracting the carpet shampooing we'll see how it comes after just a quick wipe down and vacuum will go from there [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] we don't have our carpet extractor here or our proper vacuum or a little tornado thing that we use so we're just kind of doing a quick wipe down with the interior cleaner then we're hitting it with some interior detailer just to kind of bring it back but i mean you can see already right off the bat it's a huge transformation well guys i think we can officially call her done i want i want to give a massive thank you to grios um not only obviously for the products on this car but i'm really excited to have a sick detailing company as a sponsor and it's gonna be rad having the shelves stock at all times um i want to talk a little bit about the miata obviously made this video today and made it look a lot nicer and after this you guys are going to see all the before and afters which honestly are incredible plans for this car colette hasn't decided she doesn't know what we're going to do with it yet yeah it's up in the air you were talking about having it be a compound thrash car which no no i don't like the word thrash but it would inevitably probably go into a tree admit it by someone there is a possibility that it would be crashed so one of the top comments on the last video honestly me off mike put a bleep on you guys sometimes come up with these ideas that are awesome ideas but they're also my ideas and then i feel like when i say them you guys think that it wasn't my idea and i've been so excited we actually bought some k cars in japan that haven't showed up yet and i wanted to do a top gear style layout when i have guests here to see you can set the fastest lap time and this car would kind of be perfect but clutter is right if it did crash into a tree i would feel kind of bad even though it's really cheap it just it's hard to find me out on this condition so i don't know if this car's going to be for that or if klutz can have some other plans for it but ultimately it's her decision and we will end up doing some sort of compound uh time trial car in the future also if you guys haven't noticed i'm not going on drift week 3 nora's colette things are just way too busy i bought a car for drift week three it turned out to be a piece of junk so i didn't want to put money into it and then we just kind of ran out of time um colette wanted to cage her car didn't have time to cage her car so no drift week three it's unfortunate it's gonna be beautiful in the pacific northwest but ultimately as hard as it is sometimes we just gotta make that call to say no or we get overwhelmed and then have stress and explode like engines sometimes a lot of stick power washing going on we're kind of gathering footage and making uh kind of like an archive so we can make a really big like power washing video on the compound special guests coming today see you guys in the next video we're gonna play with the go-karts get those dialed get some I really hope Adam keeps this one nice, and possibly reversible to stock. The shift knob is not even shiny, so it seems like a pretty nice car. Would be a shame if it got banged up or cut up.
