in today's video we are going to be getting sneaky with a milli focused rogue build that i've been working on i've used astarian primarily for this build so he works perfect for this build but you can definitely create a custom character using this exact build and this will allow you to use attributes that you choose but without further ado let's get into it today's video is sponsored by the channel itself i've launched the youtube membership option if that's something you're interested in please check that service out little join button is next to the subscribe button which you should also hit but that is just an option now into the video the main purpose of this build is to get close to enemies and use the milly sneak attack for the extra d6 dice roll on the attack as well as dual wielding with a dagger to use your bonus actions to get extra offhand attacks in that same turn the benefits here and putting this build on a rogue specifically is with the fast hands class feature that you get at level three which gives you an extra bonus action which you can use to have another offhand attack or at level 2 you can use that for the dash bonus action ability that you get there whereas in other classes dash actually takes up an action the primary focus of this build is being able to sneak attack enemies outside of combat and then when you are locked into combat having high mobility to get around the battlefield and do good damage output with multiple attacks per turn so let's get into the stats and break down this character as mentioned i am using astarian for the primary focus of this build but he does have some weaknesses in his ability spread which we'll get into but you can definitely make this as a custom character and this build would work even better than with our little vampire friend for the starting race any race that gives you plus two to your dexterity is what you should really focus on so a high elf wood elf dryer or a halfling are the best race options even though it doesn't explicitly call it out you do get bow proficiencies for being a rogue so you don't have to worry about going elf if you do want to have a bow in your off hand which we do in this video for a starring the best stealth options are wood elf or lightfoot halfling as they both come with a stealth proficiency however this can also be achieved by your background being criminal or urchin if you do want to achieve it that way for skills otherwise it is a personal preference on what you would like to choose it is really up to you how you want to build your character from a role-playing sense however it's not a bad idea to have proficiency in the dexterity based skills like acrobats sleight of hand and stealth as you do have a really high dexterity with this build for attributes your main focus should be on dexterity and that should be maxed out as high as possible next i'd look into constitution as you will be merely focused do you want a little bit of extra health as you're going to be in the thick of the fight followed by strength and wisdom your dump stat for this build is really going to be intelligence as you're not going to be casting any spells at all unless you go the arcane trickster as your subclass at level three but this build is solely focused on being that thief subclass line so it's fine for intelligence to be as low as possible leveling up as a rogue is where this build really starts to come together at level two you get the cunning action dash which allows you to dash as a bonus action rather than an action this allows you to double your movement speed and get up close and personal with any enemy that you like a level three is where you pick your subclass thief or arcane trickster for this build we are going thief thief is the key focus for this build this is what gives you that second bonus action per turn as well as some fall damage resistance so you can jump around more freely and with jump being a bonus action as well if you are up on the higher ground and you do need to jump down this will allow you to move around freely and as well use dash if you do want to cover a lot of distance in that same turn once you hit level 4 it's time to choose a feat the primary option here is to go with the ability improvement option for the extra two points to put into your abilities the main thing you want to focus on here is getting your dexterity to 18 whether that's one point or two points for you this will give you plus four on all of your dexterity based dice rolls if you do have a point left over my suggestion would be to put this into constitution or any other stat that is currently on an odd number to bring it to an even number for those stat increases there are other options here like the dual wielder feat which gives you a plus one bonus to your armor class while wielding a melee weapon in each hand which we will be as we are going to be dual wielding two weapons the other option is defensive duelist as we will be regularly in melee range when you are attacked with a melee attack you can use your reaction to increase your armor class potentially making the attack miss these are the only other two options you could go with but in my opinion the straight increase to your dice rolls is a better alternative than a plus one to armor class or the reaction increase to your armor clash these straight stat improvements you get from the ability improvement feed is just more beneficial as a general rule in my opinion and i think this translates to all of the builds that we might see that will come out of early access this may change when the game is fully released but we'll have to wait and see in terms of the equipment you should be rocking for this rogue the main focus is on dual wielding finesse weapons make sure that the weapons you are dual wielding are both finesse weapons what a finesse weapon allows you to do is use your decks modifier rather than your strength modifier when you do attack roles and because we have a really high decks we have to be using a finesse weapon i have been dual wielding a short sword and a dagger and that's been working fine for me in terms of armor if you are using astarian get rid of his default armor it gives you disadvantages on stealth rolls which is super weird considering he is a stealth rogue i don't understand that but just change that out for a standard leather armor gives you the exact amount of armor class but it doesn't give you that disadvantage on stealth rolls so you should be able to just rock that unless you find better leather light armor as you progress through the early access which there are options there for other equipment there isn't too much that benefits this build strongly there is an amulet that you can find which gives you extra hit points when you deal damage when you are below 25 health this will be beneficial if you are dropping below health a lot which does seem to happen as a rogue as you are one of the weakest health characters so the ai will typically focus you to some degree but this is more beneficial to put on a tank character if you are struggling with or possibly a mage if you are running a mage as may just get focused heavily by the ai in terms of playing this build and how you should operate you should start combat in stealth with a stealth attack pretty much every combat encounter that's possible if you know a fight is coming peeling off your rogue from your party putting them in stealth hiding them around a corner is always a good option start that conversation if dialogue goes poorly and the combat starts you've got your rogue in stealth there and you can find a good angle for them to get a cheap kill and get some easy damage at the start of the fight during combat your focus should be on closing the distance with enemies and using your sneak attack each turn then using your offhand attack bonus action and if you don't need to move using dash then you can use your bonus action again to get a third attack in each turn as a starion specifically you should also use your vampire bite as soon as you can it gives astarion a happy bath which gives a story on bonuses to his roles until you rest again and who doesn't like a happy vampire it's much better than an angry vampire let's be real if meli isn't possible which in some fights it isn't in the early access at least there are a lot of encounters where enemies are on a high ground in an unreachable state which you can't actually get to during combat without a lot of movement which is not beneficial because you're just going to get pelted with arrows or spells as you try and move around in these cases you can use your bow the bow also has a sneak attack which you can use every single turn and get that extra dice roll on your attacks as a rogue regardless of if you go this option or the arcane trickster you should not really be using your default attacks very often should either be using your weapon attacks or you should be using the sneak attacks they both give you extra damage rolls on your attacks and this should be the key focus of your rogue build regardless of the build that you go for and that is my milli rogue estarian built i hope you guys like this build do let me know in the comments what you would change about this build or if you do
