hello and welcome back for another Baldur's Gate 3 video this is T-Bone here and today I'm going to be talking about the things you did not know about the Dragonborn race and Baldur's Gate 3 and DND now this is going to coincide with fist Edition and it is also going to coincide with uh previous editions of DnD now before we get started if you enjoy this kind of lore video go ahead and leave a like And subscribe and let me know what you think down in the comments let's get into it so one of the first things I want to talk about and you might notice with Boulder's Gate 3 and larian actually does a very good job of doing this and they are pretty lore accurate with the dragonborns in the city and ones that you find throughout the game is dragonborns do not have tails now I know in the character creation screen you can add a tail and you can modify it and you can modify your character and your Dragonborn this is just for additional customization and freedom of choice but dragonborns do not have tails those are actually half dragons half dragon share both parts of their parents just like any other half race in the Forgotten Realms or in D D in general now dragonborns they are not descended from humans and Dragons they are created to be slaves of dragons is one of their beliefs one of their other beliefs is they were made separate from dragons and they were just enslaved by them another part that I want to talk about is religion when it comes to dragonborns dragonborns are not typically religious you will not really find warlocks clerics paladins or so on and so forth they are typically drawn to sorcery given their draconic blood because they are descended from dragons or created separately whichever uh history you decide to go with in your campaigns or your role play but typically they do not worship deities and they do not worship deities such as Bahamut or Tiamat dragonborns are very prideful and they tend to do things by themselves with without asking for help hence another reason why they would not be warlocks because they do not seek power from other means they focus on skills that they have and they focus on doing those very very very well typically you'll see a Dragonborn work with mining smithing they love jewelry they love to Adorn themselves and look really really nice but they usually don't wear a lot of fancy jewelry and Aesthetics usually when they craft their armor they make it very astonishing and very very impressive another thing is typically you won't see really any evil dragonborns this isn't to say there isn't any evil ones out there but they are very honor bound and they look to work for the collective they Pride themselves on society moving the collective forward rather than their own gains another part I want to talk about is if you see a half dragon then the colors of the half dragon is really really going to matter if you see a red half dragon and then it's more likely evil and you know watch out if you see a gold half dragon then typically it's going to be on the good side now as far as dragonborns are concerned their color is not really relative to the type of person they are or the type of breath that they use not only do their colors have nothing really to do with their breath weapons is typically you don't see any of the bright chromatic colors that you would in half dragons or other dragons you would typically see the basic colors like usually Scarlet gold rust bronze Brown some of the more regular colors of dragons usually the chromatic colors are half dragons so basically they get their breath weapon from their blood not the color of their scales so another thing about Dragonborn is when they are hatched from their egg they start eating meat as soon as they grow teeth and then tip typically they are raised by one parent whichever parent is the same sex as the baby typically the males will raise sons and the females will raise the daughters typically till about 15 years old they will teach them the history and how to be a Dragonborn and how to do their crafts and then they will go off on their own now another thing I want to talk about is I know I said earlier that you wouldn't see Dragonborn as a paladin you actually would this is actually one of the most common things this is previous versions of d d where the paladins were religious but the most recent versions of DnD the paladins are more of their oath they take their oath and no matter what it is that is what gives them their power it's not as much Divine as it is a promise and this fits Dragonborn and Dragonborn Society extremely well since they are very honor bound and they are very respectful they will respect their enemies no matter whether they're the greatest villain ever or their own blood you would see them as somebody who would never break a promise if they promise something then they will do it and go forth and then be the best at it that they can be this is also typically why you would not see them be an oath breaker if they are oath Breakers they are usually banished so that is something that they are really shunned upon just like if they are followers of dragons or other religious figures this is because value is very important to them they look to be valued and they look to others to see them as valuable because they want to move the clan forward or be successful they want to if they're an adventuring party they want to provide the most value possible that they can have and they want others to see that another thing is typically you will not see many Wizards in Dragonborn in society most of them are Sorcerers hence their dragon Blood also the world that they came from there was no weave there were no Gods because the gods were separated and the elemental Dimension that they come from their magic is pulled from inside them so typically they will not be manipulating The Weave as Wizards do and they just pull their magic from inside and they take a lot of pride in that because magic is very very important to them typically they won't use magic wastefully either because their magic is for the strong and the powerful and they will simply use it when it is necessary this will be it for the things you didn't know about dragonborns and Dragonborn Society if you think I've earned it please hit the like button and subscribe for more border Skate 3
