Baldur's Gate 3: Do not make my mistake, don't let him leave! You lose out on a bunch of items.

should hey everyone just a quick PSA if you are doing a mostly good playthrough of balder's gate or at least one in which you are not killing everyone in the Grove do not let this guy leave you find Roland arguing with two other teelings just inside the Grove the very first time you visit he states he wants to head to balder's gate Leah wants to stay and fight this is a seemingly unimportant encounter however if you let him leave it has large consequences and you will miss out on some characters in act two and act three as well as some really good items from a Trader so you want to convince him to stay choose the persuasion check and if you pass great but don't worry if you don't actually pass it all you have to do is tell him there will be money in it if he stays this will work just as well to convince him to stay just whatever you do don't be like me and tell them to leave thinking you have everyone's safety covered you don't it was not until act 3 when I was trying to find a certain NPC to trade with because I knew they had an item that I really wanted that I had discovered my mistake after lots of Googling I found out the reason it was Roland see now this next part of the video I will explain some of what you miss out on if you let him leave so if you don't want any act two or three spoilers feel free to end the video now otherwise keep watching I know I missed out on a small side quest in act two to save Roland but the main thing I missed out on was having this teeling child in act two or three although in Act One Mattis does not have much of anything useful his inventory increases in act two and again in act three assuming you did not let Roland leave in act one you discover that when zevar froze when the group was ambushed in the shadow cursed lands it was Roland who stepped up and saved the children you will now be able to find Mattis in the last Light in and you can obtain the evasive shoes which give your armor class and acrobatics a plus one and the cloak of the cunning broom which creates a small fog Cloud anytime you disengage in act three you find Mattis near the requisitioned barn and he now also sells the corvid token which increases your jump and fly distance it also lets you cast feather fall and polymorph into a dire Raven and sorry for not actually having any screenshots of the items unfortunately don't have them in my playthrough anyway thanks for watching I hope you did not make the same mistake I did now enjoy a clip of the old save file I loaded just to take out my frustration over all this on Zev Lor and please consider liking and subscribing in
