after lunch welcome uh onliners hopefully you had a nice lunch or whatever country you're in you might be eating dinner or even breakfast for all we know i'm mike goulet the director of operations at behold israel we have a team of 15 and some contractors that help us our team is scattered mostly over the united states we have two canadians we have a filipino and of course amir our founder and president lives in israel but regularly speaks in the united states he's been in the united states after this tour for approximately almost three full months and so this will be our longest tour we've ever done i also have the privilege of serving in the united states air force as a reservist in the chaplains corps and i love it i can't believe the freedom that i presently still have to be able to talk about faith uh in in ways that uh i didn't ever think or imagine in these days but those freedoms are under attack at the pentagon make no mistake i don't want to mention names bless their hearts they try but there's something called the first amendment and you just can't erase that out of that constitution yep i am a bit in tears because this team is so marvelous and we have contacts all over the world and specifically afghanistan our miranda's father-in-law he is an israeli that mentors four afghani men that came from muslim backgrounds into the christian faith in israeli mentoring afghani ex-muslims you know it it never gets crazier now because of this whole fiasco and this botched pullout of afghanistan we are really having a hard time figuring out who is alive over there right now and who has targets on their back um i am told that these guys are still around with us i hope they'll they'll be around tomorrow and if you guys are watching god bless you know who you are in afghanistan you're taking a risk by watching this but yet you do it now uh this has got to be the most challenging sermon teaching slash brief however you want to take it that i've ever done as a pastor of 17 years before i came into behold israel i sat and chipped away at this for days this thing is the this thing is the work and product of a month and i still cannot share everything let me make the disclaimer the title of our message right now is the rapture according to the early church all right this is going to be a tour i am going to put my professor hat on even though i don't have a professional degree in professorship but i will be guiding you through some of the reasons why the pre-tribulation rapture view in my my opinion is the most scriptural view and it was the view that was espoused by the early church at least through 300 a.d the disclaimer is this i am going to be quoting church fathers directly from uh the sources and i wouldn't want any of you to go away saying pastor mike believes in the epistle of barnabas pastor mike believes that polycarp's writings are canonical i'm not saying that we read books all the time in fact we're selling books here today let's face it they're great books to read to augment to support to bring clarity you're hearing teachings okay we're taking the word of god and making it obvious i wouldn't want somebody to say behold israel is now embracing the apocrypha the pseudopigrapha and all of the sibling oracles and the nakamati documents of gnosticism that we see on the discovery channel okay no okay let me walk you through just a brief story just to kind of set some context when i lived in israel in the 90s every single year we went to a festival in arad it's in the it's in the desert and all of the teenagers created a woodstock-like environment with rock bands and everybody was feeling free and there's drugs and we had a big team there evangelizing sharing the gospel handing out hebrew bibles and one of the guys named tom tom tom came and he said listen uh you're the christian we are jews you all believe jesus and we believe in the prophets so you are wrong and we are right uh isaiah 53 it's not talking about jesus it's talking about israel israel is suffering servant and by the way i don't even believe in god and he was proving all of his documentation and all this guy was a walking library and he tied me in a pretzel i was young at the time he tied me to pretzel i was like a dog with his tail between his legs and i got kicked out of there i felt humiliated and inadequate i honestly for the first time in my life was tempted to convert to judaism as a filthy pig-eating gentile was actually looking at the noah-eyed laws tom was fascinated he stood he stuck with our group he said how is it that you are people from all over the earth and you make a the same faith we are not as unified as the jews we are very the distinguished and we fight among ourselves with theology and i say well it happens here too i said one one evening i said tom we're going out to the desert to pray he's the guy's hanging in our group i mean he won't go anywhere and so i said look we're going to the desert we're going to go pray and since you're an atheist you probably don't want to come he said no what you all go to pray i want to see it so what to say so we took tom out to the desert and something amazing happened in the desert but we'll have to get to that later in the sermon oh yeah this is the afternoon crowd after lunch i got to keep you awake somehow okay [Applause] i did not know how to handle a tom i didn't know how to handle the rabbis i got my butt kicked theologically here i am a filthy gentile didn't know hebrew at that time and i was getting my rear end handed to me okay i felt insecure i felt like i could be wrong i was questioning everything and that is exactly what was going on in the first century original believers that come from jewish backgrounds and gentiles that came into the faith of christianity had all of these religions and different philosophies running around and i want to introduce you to somebody that was a horrible horrible heretic let's throw him up there on the screen his name is marcion marcion lived between 85 to 160 a.d he did not believe that people could resurrect he believes that souls went to an ethereal realm and he taught gnosticism he gave you secret knowledge if you have this secret knowledge you will be able to negotiate eternal matters marcion and his philosophy infected the church and the church was starting to question their own faith and they were embracing doctrines of gnosticism which said that the human body and all of the material is evil we need to constantly focus on the soul and what's happening in the afterlife or in the heavens and of course many believers were confused and frustrated many of them departed from the faith of christianity to embrace some of these philosophies just as i was struggling with tom who was an atheist who had a jewish background that believed in all kinds of other crazy things sometimes mental health is attached to some of this stuff or lack thereof okay now marcion is preaching a fake gospel and sucking people from the church in like a vacuum but then there's this gentleman that shows up and parachutes in and his name is irenaeus and let me throw him up there irenaeus of lions was a missionary to france in the first century and second century actually more so the second century and he wrote a treatise called against heresies and in book five which we'll look at later in addition to many other church fathers there are some shocking pieces of information that talk about how human bodies in faith in jesus will rise from the dead and he quotes sources that our gentleman have quoted this morning he actually quotes those passages from first and second thessalonians first uh corinthians chapter 15 matthew chapter 24 daniel chapter 9 verse 24 through 27 all of that stuff irenaeus is quoting in book five and he's making a case uh that christians are in fact going to be resurrected and their bodies will go to heaven and he said it's going to happen before the tribulation [Applause] irenaeus is the disciple of polycarp polycarp is the disciple of john it's pretty good right so are you ready for a journey let me throw up the map this is christianity in the fir in the second and third century notice the green area that's all that's how far the christian church was able to penetrate the roman empire the roman empire is losing big time to the christian church because it offers a quicker way to the right god it addresses sins and has nothing to do besides just accept god's grace and be saved through faith whereas the roman pantheon you had to serve different gods it's like juggling all these gods up in the air like pinballs and like chainsaws and like knives you don't know what's going to happen and all of these people are making regular sacrifices to their gods in judaism you had a huge system of 613 commands to obey and so christianity was winning which is incidentally why constantine in the 4th century allegedly converted to christianity i think it was a political move but that's my opinion because if you can't beat them you join them all right so that's the that was the first that was the first church really the uh the second and third century church now watch this today you are sitting in a swamp of false teaching not only attacking the church but the minds of the entire earth if you were listening closely to our previous two teachers you will know and see that there is a globalist effort to bring the world together in ways that we have never achieved in human history they tried to do it at the tower of babel that was not successful there is a new world order ironically emulating the church on many levels pastor gary showed that video of the environment of the the tree huggers they have to have a cause because they don't have the bible so they have to have a common unifying factor that draws them together they need a dilemma and a solution and they are proposing to you that the world if it comes together we can attack climate change with the power of man instead of sin we ca instead of addressing sin we can address all of the problems of government and have an equal spread of socialism even though we've been electrocuted in the socket many times try the left hand instead that will for sure work that's what they're saying to you okay just try the left hand okay social injustice race relations they are hijacking what belongs and always has been defined by god and disseminated through the church we define equality based on the word of god don't let the world take that from you don't let them take unifying factors and redefine truth and sexuality which we talked about my friends in the church the society is now attacking you in your minds and i've seen churches and church pastors fold and tuck tail and run with a lot of these false teachings and they've joined the world to fit in so they can have butts and seats that's why i said earlier if you're here and you don't have a church in the in the area this is one of the last bastions where you're going to find the word of god go forth without any shame now irenaeus has got a big job he's trying to keep the church pure polycarp is trying to keep the church pure there's different writings that the church fathers wrote down which are very available today and you can see the clear evidence of how much they had to go through i remember being in israel leading teams we led evangelism teams and a german was in my bible study that i led and i talked about the millennium and the second coming of christ and i talked about the rapture and he laughed at me and so did all the europeans that were there on the team they said mike mike mike don't you know there is no millennium there this we're the church is going to get better and better and better and then when we get to a state jesus will come and that's the kingdom on earth and the king and i said i said no no and we got into these debates that's what we call amylin amillennialism did you know that did not take off until the fourth century under augustine of hippo you know god bless him he was right in a lot of areas but these early church fathers really since 300 a.d and on really took a roller coaster ride into craziness and unfortunately much of the world still does not know what you know about the end times now let me introduce you to somebody that i came to learn about recently ironically darby darby uh in our chat rooms in behold israel people are saying the pre-tribulation rapture view is a new view it didn't come out until darby john nelson darby considered by some to be the father of dispensationalism in the late 1800s strongly influenced the plymouth brethren and other very conservative denominations and his case was that there is a literal kingdom could it be that darby was able to touch something that already existed long ago that the first century second century church already knew and that is is that the rapture would literally happen and it would happen before the tribulation thereafter where there'd be a manifestation of the antichrist sheer lawlessness in the world israel coming to faith when jesus comes back and then a millennial reign which is what he believed and in the chats of behold israel people are accusing us of popping out this view because of darby and if that's not enough some of the suspects in this equation and i saw a lot of these guys when i first came to faith larkin moody schofield and lewisberry shaffer were the ones that they view some of the people online to invent the pre-tribulation rapture view now i'm going to equip you this morning as kind of a poor uh professor because i don't have any degrees and i may get cynical and i may be crazy a little bit here and there and i'm going to quote a lot of the the the first century second century and third century leaders but these guys could it be that they saw something with the revival of theology ever since the reformation where they delved back into the bible and without much help came to the conclusions that there is a millennium there is a second coming there is a tribulation and there is a rapture that precedes all of it could it be that these just these are these are just guys that are reading the bible plainly and i make that question readily available to all of you online that are watching this i want you to know that i'm being very sincere if it's if there's any cynicism that comes through it's because i've had to journey through this and have a lot of debates about this and i just find that the pre-tribulation rapture view represents scripture and the early church and i just can't get around it i haven't heard a better argument if you can have a better argument for a for mid or post then i'm all ears my goal isn't to convert you to pre-tribulation my goal is to give you some confidence that there are some sources in the first and second third century that are very valuable for you to look into that a lot of believers don't delve into many of you that are pre-trib and you want some additional layers that's the point of today's teaching so without further ado let me share with you why mike goulet likes the pre-trib rapture view first and then we will get into the church fathers let's talk about the scriptural evidence that the rapture will occur before the tribulation this is mike's list this is my list i love this list it's not exhaustive by any means but i find these to be the most convincing we're going to whip through these really quick so i can give all of the rest of the first century guys a voice this morning or this afternoon rather and so a the first thing that i really find convincing about the pre-trib rapture view is that the church will be kept from the quote hour of trial unquote whatever that means let's go to revelation chapter 3 verses 1 10 through 13 throw that up on the screen and this is addressing the church because you have kept my command to persevere and by the way persevere through life through normal persecutions that were always promised as believers there's plenty of passages that refer to if you desire to live godly in jesus christ you're going to suffer persecution let's face it persecution is a part and parcel thing that we signed up the moment we came to faith because you've commit my command to persevere i also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on earth and you go to the next passage and pick it up there in verse 11 behold i am coming quickly hold fast what you have that no one may take your crown he overcomes i will make him a pillar in the temple of my god and he shall go out no more i will write on him the name of my god and the name of the city of my god the new jerusalem which comes down out of heaven from my god and i will write on him my new name he who has an ear let him hear what the spirit says to the churches not just to this specific church in revelation but to the churches saved from the hour of trial now later on we're going to get into the shepherd of hermes where he's going to talk about this and comment that it's the rapture that is clearly referencing the church being raptured out before the great and mighty persecution second reason why i believe in the pre-trib rapture is the church is not destined for wrath because of messiah's sacrifice why would god take the church and push them through the tribulation period when it's really designed for israel not the church to bring israel to himself as clearly denoted in daniel chapter 9 verse 24 through 27 why would he allow his bride to be be beat up bruised have an eye guide gouged out and they're just barely alive come to the wedding festival you know ripped up dress gouged out eye bruises all over the face now i say that facetiously but it doesn't fit the text nor what the early church believes first thessalonians chapter 5 verses 1 through 11. long passages but sit back and listen as we have a public reading of scripture even here but concerning the times and seasons brethren you have no need that i should write to you for you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the lord so comes as a thief in the night for when they say peace and safety then sudden destruction comes upon them as labor pains upon a pregnant woman and they shall not escape they they but you brethren are not in darkness so that this day should overtake you as a thief and that's the era of the last times the second coming you are all sons of light and sons of the day we are not of the night nor of the darkness therefore verse 6 let us not sleep as others do but let us watch and be sober even in the afternoon of a wedding's return conference after a nice hearty lunch from the from the the from the meal wagon for those that sleep sleep at night not in the afternoon in conferences and those who get drunk are drunk at night but let us who are of the day be sober putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet the hope of salvation for god did not appoint us to but rather to obtain salvation through our lord jesus christ who died for us that whether we wake or sleep we should live together with him therefore comfort each other and edify one another just as you're doing so if i come to you and i'm not pre-trib and i say we're looking for the antichrist this guy is going to rise up out of europe he's going to lead the globalist world order there's going to be many miracles there's going to be biblical proportions judgments on the world that's why they use the word biblical proportions because nothing nor natural has ever been like the biblical proportions and it's going to be horrible you might even get your head chopped off you're going to be on the run you're going to be in the doghouse and all your family you need to you're not going to know who's living at that time be encouraged look for the antichrist you think god wants you looking for the antichrist or jesus in the sky come on we've already been saved we don't need to go through anything israel needs to go through this they need to look on the one whom they pierce and lord for one is one more is for only son so that they may be saved that's the purpose of why daniel said that in chapter 9 verse 24-27 church is not destined for wrath next convincing argument i don't want to get caught up with this because there's a lot to say i know see the church is not mentioned at all at all not one bit in revelation 6 through 18 as being on earth it's not mentioned at all yet in the first three chapters chapters two and three specifically the word for church ecclesia is used 19 times one through three and then once at the very end in chapter 22 verse 16 why because it's not there you'll see the brothers the brothers in the first and second century are gonna are gonna agree with us now here's a clue for you uh god uses two witnesses right he uses an angel a heralding angel in the tribulation he uses 144 members from different tribes of israel to minister at that time of course many people will come to faith in the tribulation not just jews and it will not be the same as here in the church they'll be in the doghouse and chased down we still have our freedoms and influence within society d the restrainer is taken before the tribulation now there's a lot of debate who is the restrainer according to thessalonians 2 thessalonians 2 verses 5 through 8 and we'll quote that for you do you not remember that when i was still with you i told you these things so they were having discussions about the end times paul and the thessalonian church and now you know what is restraining that he may be revealed in his own time that is the antichrist needs to be revealed in his own time for the mystery of lawlessness is already at work only he who now restrains the lawless one and the lawlessness will do so until he is taken out of the way the restraining force and then the lawless one will be revealed whom the lord will consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy with the brightness of his coming now you have to admit can i just be a little animated all right think of this huge river colorado river just a big big river with a big dam right hoover dam let's say that hoover dam is is right there it's in place and all of a sudden let's say one day you just take it away can you imagine the water will just flow this is the imagery i get here think about it the restrainer many people don't know what that is but a lot of the early church we're saying that it's the alliance of the spirit of god in the believer making a difference in the earth a few examples there are christians and we've said this earlier there are christians in government do you think they're making an influence absolutely there are christians in the military i'm one of them there are many more there are christian educators both in the local theater and across this whole world and universities there are believers in hospitals there are many christian dentists my dentist is christian i like that there are christians in every single little city council there's christians everywhere within the financial system there's christians in every country in every nook and cranny of life if you pull that hoover dam up and you allow the lawlessness which is those darn christians here they go again can you imagine if the world got what they wanted imagine the chaos that that would create and the need and the vacuum which it would create for somebody to lead it imagine now i believe that the restrainer is the spirit of god in you wherever you have infiltrated this world whatever calling god has given you and the relationships and impact and influence that you have it's the spirit of god that makes you care about things for you to speak up for you to feed somebody and it doesn't make sense because in your own flesh you ever had those conversations with your flesh oh i really don't want to do something i really don't want to say something i don't want to put myself out there and then you hear the voice say yeah hey really you should and you find yourself battling sometimes that's the spirit of god calling you to make a difference and be a restrainer against evil or to lessen evil in the world by making it a better place for people now we know this that the restrainer will continue to restrain until the restrainer is taken out of the way out of the way and then lawlessness and the lawless one will come paul wanted the first century church to understand all of this and they got it wrong they were confused just like you and me peter says he had hard writings very difficult to understand and that's why we're trying to make sense out of it he no one knows the day or hour this is very convincing as well matthew chapter 24 36-44 but of the day and hour no one knows jesus talking about his whole olivet discourse and the starting point of when this whole thing goes down which i believe is the rapture the rapture initiates the whole series of end times stuff going down it's the first thing that happens not even the angels of heaven but my father only but as the days of noah were so also will be the coming of the son of man be for as in the days before the flood they were eating drinking marrying giving into marriage until the day that noah entered the ark and did not know until the flood came and took them all away so also will be the coming of the son of man verse 40 then two men will be in the field one will be taken the other left two women will be grinding the meal one will be taken in the other left watch therefore for you do not know what hour your lord is coming but know this that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come he would have watched not allowed his house to be broken into therefore you also be ready for the son of man is coming at an hour that you do not expect what would be really cool is if we're preaching about the pre-trib rapture right now and all of a sudden this well-engineered building would just open up and the awaiting his return prophecy conference would have been the on the news and everybody would have said this is where it all ground zero and actually problem narcissism game over mike all right and now what you came to listen to number two there's only two points to this sermon today the rapture according to the early church again i am not saying any of these sources are biblical authoritative or inspired in fact quite frankly you're gonna see some of the kookiness of some of these guys i mean they they were you know not as educated as you all right you see this recurring theme of enoch and elijah as you get into some of the first second century authors they're always going to come back to enoch and elijah as examples to make their case for a bunch of marcion losers that are saying we don't get new bodies as soon as we die our body goes to the ground and we're up there by the way if you want the secret knowledge you've got to come to me with gnosticism that's these guys are saying okay i'll take that argument to you believers if you think marcion is right how do you explain enoch that went up to heaven and by the way if you can't if you can explain that how can you explain to elijah who also just went up to heaven they both were taken by god and that's the old testament that's what the early church's arguments were against marcia marcion and gnosticism and many others for example here's a passage it's very clear genesis 5 enoch lived 65 years and begot you want to know how to say methuselah in hebrew methuselah to sha allah 300 years and had sons and daughters yeah i just lived 300 years i just finally thought i'd start the engine and get up with the wife and we got some more kids going after 300 years also all the days of enoch were 365 years in enoch walk with god and he was not god for god took him imagine and he's gone and we know that he was taken because hebrews chapter 11 verse 5 says by faith enoch was taken away so that he did not see death and was not found because god had taken him for before he was taken he had this testimony that he pleased god second kings 2 verse 9 through 11 elijah remember this and so it was when they crossed over that elijah said to elijah they're doing ministry together elisha is the protege of elijah ask what i may do for you elisha before i am taken away from you elijah said please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me so he said you've asked a hard thing nevertheless if you see me when i am taken from you it shall be so for you but if not it shall not be so and i love that answer if i'm taken and i get it great if not then you have to live without a double portion okay your jew we are jews okay then it happened as they continued and walked on that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire and separated the two of them and elijah went up by a whirlwood wind into heaven have you ever thought what enoch thought and said i was just taken but man you got uh you got the whirlwind you got the chariots you got the drama and probably some epic jerry bruckheimer music nope irenaeus of lions who we talked about earlier said this this is book five of against heresies chapter five section one but why do i refer to these men for enoch when he pleased god was translated in the same body in which he did please him thus pointing out by anticipation the translation of the just elijah too was caught up when he when he was yet in the substance of the natural form thus exhibiting in the prophecy the assumption of those who are spiritual and that nothing stood in the way of their body being translated and look at that word caught up he wrote in greek by the way for by means of the very same hands to which they were molded at the beginning did they receive this translation an assumption and the marcia knights are like oh no against heresies was being read by a lot of the churches in that map world that i just showed you and marcion was losing and so was gnosticism and irenaeus became one of the heroes to keep the church doctrines pure in the first second and third centuries really the second and the third i want to introduce you to a document that i find fascinating in fact irenaeus actually thought it should be in the bible i don't think he believed it was inspired by god i certainly don't believe this these are inspired by god because there's a lot of chaos when you read these books they just weren't as educated and it just it doesn't read as well as the greek new testament it's very very choppy and but the shepherd of hermes was a series of visions written really in the late 100s a.d we don't know who wrote this but it's a series that really takes the book of john and the prophecies about the end times specifically the rapture the tribulation the antichrist and it seeks to bring encouragement to the church who were going through extreme persecutions under roman governors and the emperor himself and in this book it's it's very enlightening because the believers would actually encourage each other in this extreme pressure cooker to look up to jesus as the next hope in the prophetic timeline in vision 4 chapter 1 watch this 20 days after the former vision i saw another vision brethren a representation of the tribulation that is to come and you read through this i'm going to spare you the details i'm going to jump to chapter 2 and i'm going to link these two together hopefully it'll make sense chapter in chapter 2 of vision 4. now after i'd passed by the wild beast this is saturated with metaphor this was the style of the shepherd of hermes utilized metaphor for people pass by the wild beast and move forward about 30 feet lo a virgin meets me adorned as if she were proceeding from the bridal chamber from the bridal chamber clothed entirely in white and with white sandals and veiled up to her forehead and her head was covered by a hood and she had white hair i knew from my former visions that this was the church and i became more joyful she saluted me and said hello man and i returned her salutation and said lady hail and she answered and said to me has nothing crossed your path i say i was met by a beast of such a size that i couldn't destroy that it could destroy peoples but through the power of the lord and his great mercy i escaped from it take a note on that just for a second next up well you you you well did you escape from it says she because you cast your care on god do you remember pastor gary's list you're going to find a lot of that stuff coming through these documents karen god and open your heart to the lord believing that you can be saved by no no no other than by this by his great and glorious name on this account the lord has sent his angel who has rule over the beasts and whose name is thiegri and has shut up his mouth so that it cannot tear you you have escaped from the great tribulation on account of your faith and because you did not doubt in the presence of such a beast the beast is representing the tribulation and he's using these metaphors i'm going to i'm going to continue just to really cement this in your mind go therefore and tell the elect of the lord his mighty deeds and say to them that this beast is a type of the great tribulation that is coming if ye if then you prepare yourselves and repent with all your heart and turn to the lord it will be possible for you to escape it if your heart be pure and spotless look at the criteria here it's very in a way haunting especially for the church today that's casual about sin sin all week long like it's a party come into church clean out the pipes and then you're good to go for another week that's the way i was raised look what he says here cast your cares upon the lord and he will direct them trust the lord you who doubt for he is all-powerful and can turn his anger away from you and send scourge is on the doubters woe to those who hear these words and despise them better were it for them not to have been born this is not inspired this is the shepherd writing a metaphor of many visions saying to you and me there's a great tribulation and we can even use the metaphor as a beast that's going to eat people up and it's our faith that if you looking forward to these things be diligent to be found in him by him in peace without spot or blameless we did we not read this earlier and consider that the long-sufferings of our lord is salvation as also our beloved uh brother paul according to the wisdom given him has written to you as also in his epistle speaking in them of these things in which are some things hard to understand they at least confess it this is this prophecy stuff is hard to understand understanding the bible is not always easy which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction as they do the rest of scriptures now are you ready to put some gas can i shift gears let's talk about the dadake the didache is a treatise and often called the teaching of the twelve which is basically trying to summarize that's one of the things i love about this church pastor gary and yours as well pastor barry is that you you were only closed for a reasonable amount of time and then you recognized that even in hebrews do not forsake the assembling of yourself as the custom of some and right there in the didache it was also prioritized even in worse times in the in the roman empire for the last days the false prophets and the corrupters shall be multiplied and the sheep will be turned into wolves and the love shall change to hate for as lawlessness increases they shall hate one another does it sound familiar this is the decay okay they'll hate one another and persecute and betray and then shall appear the deceiver of the world as a son of god and shall do signs and wonders and the earth shall be given over to his hands and he shall commit iniquities which have never been since the world began he's given a shakedown of the end times identical to the text of the bible now watch then shall the creation of mankind come to the fiery trial and many shall be offended and lost but they that they who endure in their faith shall be saved by the curse itself the curse itself is referring to the time period of the antichrist and the world tribulation if you if you read this in greek which is original this is a contrast they that endure in their faith shall be saved by the curse itself watch the watch the shakedown of events then shall appear the signs of the truth first the signs spread out in heaven then the second of the sound of the trumpet so rapture sound a trumpet thirdly the resurrection of the dead but not of all the dead but as it was said the lord shall come and all his saints with him then shall shall the world see the lord coming on the clouds of heaven do you realize what you just read do you see the chronology now it's a little quirky because these guys thought differently he's saying basically two things the christians that endure in their faith up to the point of the tribulation where the fur hits the fan the world says something differently but i'll avoid that phrase there will be a shakedown of events not all of the dead will be raised only the church this is something you have to really look into okay i can't help it to quote first thessalonians chapter four look at this for this we say to you by the word of the lord no this is scriptural this is the real mccoy okay that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the lord will by no means precede those who are asleep for the lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout see the language of the decay is taken from here and morphing it into its constitution with a voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of god and the dead in christ will rise first then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with him in the clouds to meet the lord in the air and thus will always be with the lord therefore comfort each other with these words see the didache is only as danan which is basically the arab peninsula criticizing the battle that ezekiel predicted in 38-39 they'll be critical and now they're at peace with israel because they they needed to be so they can criticize these other countries i never thought i'd see that in my life how much more do you want before we say finally we're in the end times now to be fair the church always viewed itself as being in the end times but the early church also said that there will be an acceleration of these kinds of events which is really what ernest is saying if you read the entire book you'll see that he's saying there's an acceleration of this nonsense of the world and if you persevere in that nonsense and you're a believer and you don't tuck tail and run or cave in you'll escape the great tribulation boy i got a lot of material let me introduce you to a friend of mine who's a little bit nutty vic victorinius of patau how many of you like his writings anybody read victoriness of patel so that's modern-day serbia and this guy is fed up with a lot of false teaching he joins irenaeus he's also late uh 100s into the 200s a d and he thought it would be wise and helpful to write a commentary on revelation now he's a little bit nutty all right i'm going to read you the passage of revelation that he's going to comment on and he's a little nutty in his interpretation but he's assuming that the rapture will have already happened when this when these events shake down which of course let's look at it so you can see for yourself revelation chapter 6 verse 13 through 14. john writing this i fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by mighty wind then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up and every mountain and island was moved out of his place and the kings of the earth the great men the rich men the commanders the mighty men every slave and every free man hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks follow us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb for the great day of his wrath has come and who is able to stand yo victorinus what do you say let's put him up there and here's what i have to say he is commenting on this and he's saying this is his commentary it's really chronic kind of choppy verse 13 he's commenting and the stars fell to the hilt the following of the stars of the faithful who are troubled for christ's sake even as and i don't agree with this but he say look what he says even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs the fig tree was shaken loses its untimely figs when men are separated from the church by persecution who goes through the persecution not the church verse 14 and the heaven withdrew is a scroll that is rolled up for the heaven to be rolled away that is that the church shall be taken away and every mountain and the islands removed from their places mountain and islands removed from their places intimate that in the last persecution all men departed from their places that is that the good will be removed and they he says seeking to avoid the persecution because they all knew in the first century second century that if you came to jesus it was known in the churches through the teachings of the apostles and now these guys that you don't go through this persecution or this tribulation or the so-called day of the lord period leading up to the second coming now i know this guy's a little kooky in his interpretation but you got to at least admit that he believes in a pre-trib rapture all right in my last five minutes i'm going to go now to just a few worthy mentions claimant of rome who lived from 30 to 100. oh let's dig deep did he was alive around the time jesus was crucified hello he was a he could have he could have called john on the phone and said what did you mean in chapter 17. of course they didn't have phones claimant of rome in his first epistle to the corinthians non-canonical not inspired by god i know somebody online is going to say you're quoting these sources behold israel a bunch of heretics no if i say blue blue blue just hear blue don't hear red okay enoch in chapter nine of this first epistle to the corinthians talks again about enoch he's making the same case irenaeus is making even before irenaeus he talks about lot and rahab and in chapter 11 and 12 as talks about the rapture but i can say this if you take and go to the first epistle to the corinthians of clement of rome and you read he talks about the succession of the resurrection the persecution or the troublesome times and then the coming of the the judgment on the nations yeah darby came up with this in the 1800s yeah right okay i'm sorry polycarp now polly carp and john hung out they i can if they lived in minnesota they'd be in the oh so very warm cabins in the north and their kids would be frolicking in the snow and they'd be having theological conversations at the campfire right there polycarp was a disciple of john and in chapter two of the epistle to the philippians see a lot of people were writing letters around to people they just weren't inspired they were encouraging and in chapter 2 he talks about how jesus is going to be the judge of the living and the dead and his blood will require god it will be required of the nations to recognize jesus as the messiah and in chapter 5 he writes this if we please him in this present world we shall receive also the future world according as he's promised to us that he will raise us again from the dead and that if we live worthily of him see how they use those phrases worthy we shall also reign together with him in the greek composition of the way polycarp says this he's looking at two separate events in a chronology okay one could say well he was post-trib or he was mid-trip but that's not what irenaeus taught that's not what some of these other guys taught so again even people that are running around like my german friend that was in israel saying there is no millennium there is just no second coming the way you think mike no i love germans you know germans i love you ich khan deutsch okay all right okay let's not go there look he polycarp in chapter 6 of this same epistle to the philippians actually says we will all appear before the judgment seat and he believed that the judgment seat of jesus would happen during the great judgments of the world so we would have had to been raptured already i am going to just race to the end here you can see here on the screen some pointers here if you were to go back and remember things that we've said number one and this is where i'm going to springboard off of pastor gary's list and i'm going to reinforce what you just said and we have the entourage of church history saying the same thing basically that we didn't get together and come up with this but look at this let me go to the next uh slide number one first century readiness standards in other words how did they view readiness number one uh and let's see if we can get those up on the screen because i think these will be helpful if not then i'm just going to say them every one of these leaders used the word worthy of the rapture worthy of the resurrection and they expected themselves those they led and people that came to faith they expected them to glorify jesus every single day in their life not to screw around with the world and the temptations you you've read these with me have you not if you if you want to view this after it's uh it's going to be on facebook and youtube and so i live my life to glorify jesus and i have eternal impact to those around me the second expectation that we find not just in scripture but what is reaffirmed by the early churches i'm willing to go to death for my faith most of the people that we read died for their faith and they said as soon as they sign up for christianity they knew they knew they could go to death and the third expectation was they expected everybody to be constantly sharing their faith to every soul around them because they were far more urgent about these end times and far more ready than you and i were 2 000 years later can you imagine that they were probably more ready than we are i'm here to wake you up i'm here to wake myself up i hear the spirit of god say mike are you awake so there i was in the desert tom you asked for this we're going to pray we're praying it's a clear sky in the desert stars are showing people are confessing their sins on our team international team see the church has actual equality we all stand equal before the cross don't let the world take that and steal that from you okay people are praying to god for their lives for clarity what god's calling is in their life to give them delegations that came toward the jericho area and the preparation of the handover of jericho to the palestinians i don't know how many people got to see god in action protecting their nations during around the world among christians and especially here in america over the last two and a half months i was here and they're all concerned and to a certain degree angry and disappointed and and i'm like what did you expect the end times to be like i mean if anything everything we see that is happening all around the world should encourage us you know it reminds me of the two disciples on that sunday morning that went all the way down to emails remember that they were disciples they were not just from the sanhedrin or pharisees said you see i mean they were disciples they know they knew jesus they heard every word he had to say they knew what he said regarding what he has to go through it didn't come as a surprise and yet they walked all the way from jerusalem after they heard from the women that came to the tomb that morning that the tomb is empty and they were walking and talking with one another and they were what sad they just heard that he's not there he's alive and they are sad and this is more or less what i get to see around me right now everybody is so disappointed that their freedoms are being taken from them wow show me in what book it says that we will maintain our freedoms at the very end the book of second opinions what book because the last time i heard about the end times jesus is the one who promised us tribulations that he said be of good cheer so why is it that we are so concerned and angry and sad and disappointed and more so i'm talking to americans right now because i mean you look at those screens with the title of the message um the bringer of bad news no i'm someone who is describing reality it's a reality check this afternoon i don't want you to be angry or disappointed or sad even if the topic of the message is about the decline of an empire i want you to understand the times and the seasons in which we live and walk out of here way more encouraged than when you walked in father we we ask that your word will go forth and do and that which it was sent for and it will never come back void father i ask that through your word you will encourage us and you will comfort us and you will cause us to understand that we need to put our trust in you and hold on to our heavenly citizenship in these last days we thank you and we bless you in jesus name amen amen so the title of the message this afternoon is the decline of an empire and it's interesting because uh world empires as you all know entered the scene only after the tower of babel we all know that before we just don't hear about it it's it wasn't there and we know that when men came together finally maybe that is the first global attempt to create something [Music] close to global government one world government if i may and we know how it all ended let us make a name to ourselves they said the tower of vavel was not about glorifying and worshiping god but it was all about men the bible says in genesis 11 now the whole earth has one language and one speech and it came to pass as they journeyed from the east that they found a plane in the land of shinar and they dwelt there and then they said to one another come let us make bricks and make and bake them thoroughly and they had brick for stone and they had asphalt for mortar and they said come let us build ourselves a city and tower whose top is in the heavens let us make a name for ourselves lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth but the lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built and the lord said indeed that the people are one and they all have one language and this is what they begin to do now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them come let us go down and there there and confuse their language that they may not understand one another's speech so the lord scattered them abroad from from there over the face of all the earth and they ceased building the city therefore its name is called bavel in hebrew bavel from the word to confuse because and by the way babylon is bavel also in hebrew it is too confused because there was the lord confused the language of all the earth and from there the lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth so when they couldn't come together from all over the world and they were scattered all over the world now they realize that if they consolidate power wherever they are they will be able eventually to take over the whole world and we know that throughout the scriptures we can see how nations think and how god think the sovereignty of god always stands right against the council of the nation psalm 2 is describing that in a great way why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing the kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers because of our very sin there's only one way to fix the world is to address the sin issue rather than the destruction of the earth because of sin you understand that god is in control of everything we know that the bible says he makes nations great and destroys them he enlarges nations and guides them but god is the judge in psalm 75 he puts down one and exalts another so when 46 president walked into the white house when i guess he knew then that he's the president for a few minutes do you think god was taken by a surprise do you really think that this is it god is completely shocked i form the light and create darkness i make peace and create calamity i the lord do all these things god is looking at the state of a nation many times and i know some of you will say well we did not vote for this we don't know yes but you know how many people did millions therefore in jeremiah 25 thus says the lord of hosts because you have not heard my words behold i will send and take all the families of the north says the lord and nebuchadnezzar the king of babylon my servant and will bring them against this land against its inhabitants and against these nations all around and i will utterly destroy them and make them an astonishment a hissing and a perpetual desolation moreover i will take from them the voice of a mirth and the voice of gladness the voice of bridegroom and the voice of the bride the sound of the millstone and the light of the lamp and these whole lands shall be a desolation and an astonishment and these nations shall serve the king of babylon 70 years then it will come to pass when seventy years are completed that i will punish the king of babylon so god says look the the children of israel needed to be punished i will allow the king of babylon to come and make that land desolate but after 70 years when i'm done i'm gonna punish the king of babylon for what he did wait a minute what are you talking about willis he allows him to destroy them and then he is punishing for that yes god did not put the hatred in nebuchadnezzar's heart for israel he actually used it but he had to pay for that hatred and for what he did do you understand the point and he said then it will come to pass when 70 years are completed that i will punish the king of babylon and that nation the land of the chaldeans for their iniquity says the lord and i will make it a perpetual desolation even in ezekiel 14 the word of the lord came against me saying son of man when a land sins against me by persistent unfaithfulness i will stretch out my hand against it i will cut off its supply and bread send famine on it and cut off man and beast from it even if these three men noah daniel and job were in it they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness says the lord god if i cause wild beasts to pass through the land and the end and they empty it and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beast even though these three men were in it as i live says the lord god they would deliver neither sons nor daughters only that would be delivered and the land would be desolate or if i bring a sword on that land and say sword go through the land and i cut off man and beast from it even though these three men were in it as i live says the lord god they would deliver neither sons nor daughters but only they themselves would be delivered and it goes on and on so we see that god has no partiality we also see that god is using world empires they may think that they have it all going on they accumulate some power but god eventually is the one who is allowing things to happen and look daniel chapter 2 and he changes the times in the seasons he removes kings and raises up kings he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding he reveals deep and secret things he knows what it is in the darkness and light dwells with him so we understand that world empires have a very significant role in the history and in bible prophecy it's very interesting because if you look back in history especially through the lens of prophets such as daniel you you clearly see a list of empires i mean god's word is addressing them in a very special way he's addressing egypt and assyria and babylon and persia and greece and rome way before greece and rome were you know rose to power the prophet already talked about them and sometimes it wasn't just one empire sometimes it was more than one at the same time the kings of mesopotamia and the and the kings of egypt were fighting back and forth and this is why on their conquest journeys they would destroy the land of israel back and forth in israel we have cities that have been destroyed 25 30 times we found 30 layers why because when the egyptians were on the way to mesopotamia to destroy the land when these were on the way to egypt they destroyed the land and then back and forth you would think that somebody will just stop building there and move somewhere else but all the cities in those days were built on roads on on some trade routes so you see the map of mesopotamia mesopotamia means between the rivers which rivers the tigris and the euphrates egypt was right on the river which river the nile without water it could not exist and we know that throughout the scriptures empires engaged with the people of israel in ways that are very intriguing we know that joseph and daniel and even nehemiah were very close to the empire leaders of their time joseph in egypt we know in genesis 41 so the advice was good in the eyes of pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants and pharaoh said to his servants can we find such a one as this a man in whom is the spirit of god and pharaoh said to joseph inasmuch as god has shown you all these there is no one as discerning as wise and wise as you you shall be over my house and all my people shall be ruled according to your word only in regards to the throne will i be greater than you and pharaoh said to joseph c i have set you over all the land of egypt and pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on joseph's hand and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around and gave him many great gifts and he made him ruler over the whole province of babylon and chief administrator over all the wise men of babylon also daniel petitioned the king and he set shadrach meshach and abednego over the affairs of the province of babylon but daniel sat in the gate of the king what about nehemiah it's not a knee-high i mean it's it's a dif now watch this and it came to pass in the month of nisan in the 20th year of king arctic xerxes when wine was before him and i took the wine and gave it to the king now i had never been sad in his presence before therefore the sad when the city the place of my father's tombs lie waste and its gates are burned with fire then the king said to me what do you request so i prayed to the god of heavens and i said to the king if it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in your sight i ask that you send me to judah and to the city of my father's tomb that i may rebuild it then the king said to me the queen also sitting beside him how long will you be will your journey be and when and when will you return so it pleased the king to send me and i set him a time he couldn't be away from him i said okay you can go do whatever you want but be back me and my wife we need you the prophet daniel was given the most comprehensive picture of the future empires and their role in god's plan daniel's story is the times of the gentiles without listen if you remember it was the sinful nature of israel that caused god to remove earthly kingdom from the kings of israel to nebuchadnezzar and on we all know that the past all the kingdoms in the future but then he spoke of a very very unique kingdom take a look at this uh picture and you can clearly see all the different parts of that image that daniel interpreted the dream of of the king and look at the kingdom of babylon the kingdom of the medes and the persians the kingdom of ancient greece ancient rome the newly restored roman empire and of course the kingdom of god when jesus will come back he will shattered all of earthly kingdoms and we will establish the millennial kingdom and that is of course the crushing rock he is the rock amen soviet empire what about past distant history we had the persian greek roman and we also know that over the last 30 years there was only one superpower in this world can you name that country america the united states of america was the sole superpower of the last 30 years and although the 20th century saw the collapse of seven great empires mandarin china germany austria hungary ottoman turkey japan the british empire and twice over in the case of czarist and soviet russia since the events of september 11 2001 the 21st century seems like to threaten the sole remaining superpower of the united states with nemesis i was there september 11. in fact i was on those towers the night before in fact i asked my host what's going to happen if something is going to hit those towers because i rate hit new recorded low i mean less and less and less people see the the need to even get married all right and it's not because of the mother-in-law because if even if you're not married to her you're stuck with a mother-in-law you know the story about the two brides that were on a tour there was a tour one bus of mother-in-laws and one bus with the brides and they were traveling and the bus of mother-in-laws fell off the cliff everybody kapoot and the busload of bride yay they started dancing and singing there's only two of them that are sobbing in tears in the back and everybody's saying why are you why are you so sad why are you so you know crying and all that and they said our mother-in-laws did not come on this tour [Applause] israelis they have two places they love to take germany at the time and that was the end of the british empire that's it and that is the time america started rising to its peak from the recognition of the state of israel by harry truman if you muscle suddenly we see iran iran is a few weeks away from nuclear capability that's it america's status in the eyes of the world is no longer as of a superpower saudi arabia is shopping right now for someone else to lean on is the fall of america from a superpower status predicted in the bible well america is not even in the bible however directly it's not indirectly absolutely as always it's related to israel you need to understand in ezekiel 38 behold i'm against you or gog the prince of rosh meshech and to val i will turn you around and hook put a hook into your jaws and lead you out empire that will give birth to the antichrist art not for believers to see the end and be encouraged that god is on the move and i want to remind you what the disciples did that night jesus disappeared if you remember after they realized it's him and that night they didn't even wait for the morning that night they turned around and walked back to jerusalem if the walk to emails were the walk of shame the walk to jerusalem back was the walk of hope and victory the messiah is alive we know why he had to suffer and i want all of us this afternoon to remember that although things look very grim and things looks very bad and things look they might even be even worse in fact they will be worse we have citizenship elsewhere father we thank you we thank you that as we watch the decline of an empire we know that we belong to a kingdom that is imperishable we thank you father that we are future rulers and we are already ambassadors and we are here to implore people to be reconciled to you we thank you that jesus for the last 2000 years has been working on mansions for us we thank you for your plan to come back and receive us unto yourself so where you are we will also be and until then as we heard earlier today we need to occupy until then we need to do the father's business and until then we are not to fight any battles that are not for us but we are here to make disciples to spread the gospel to give the hope of salvation to the people that are still lost and to be found faithful upon your return to take us we thank you and we bless you in the name that is above all names in the name of the holy one of israel the lamb of god the lion of the tribe of judah emmanuel the prince of peace south shalom in the name of yeshua who is our salvation jesus we pray and all of god's you can kind of see that uh that there's probably a lot of a lot of a lot of questions comments maybe some frustrations anxieties and we have a host of questions that were submitted and so after after his conversation there pastor gary will join us as well but i want to remind all of you uh behold israel now is my time to just speak about behold israel um there's something called youtube and uh go we are also going to start up our q and a's as well because of our speaking tour we have not done our q and a's in our regular discussion you know tables and uh pastor berry is part of those for everyone and so we're gonna start those up after the speaking tour but for now we're just gonna do kind of a a really a fun q a right here at cornerstone chapel thank you gentlemen for being here to answer some of these questions um we'll just kind of start right here and move our way down so the first one is obviously for you amir did you always have to suffer first the jew it's the guilt trip that i have yeah so to my uh to the jewish man the jewish festivals okay will the final three jewish feasts relate to jesus second coming just like the first four were related to a second coming and i think they're speaking about rosh hashanah yes absolutely let me explain something that is a lot of times it's misunderstood the plan of god for salvation is for the whole world however he does it through the jewish people he did that at least through the jews he brought the belief in one god he brought the scriptures and the messiah okay and then he said even when it comes to uh salvation in in whenever paul was traveling he always went to the jew first and even he himself said it was necessary that i will come to you first that's what he said to the jew first doesn't mean the jews are better it was just the way god proceeds it's like you're driving on on your way to a certain place and there's three traffic lights and there's the first traffic light then there's the second and there's the third the first one is the first one it's not the best one it's not the greatest one it's just the first one you understand to get to the second you have to go for through the first and the jews were always first and so through the jews in jerusalem during the jewish festival began the plan of salvation so that the leviticus 23 seven feasts of the lord would actually be what they were meant to be the shadow and like colossians chapter 2 says let no one judge you for any drink or any sabbats or new moons or festivals but these are just a shadow of things to come but the substance is of course of christ now the first four were not just fulfilled in jerusalem at the exact original time between one another but the last three will also be in jerusalem at the exact original time between one another return will be the great trumpets that everyone will hear jesus's return to the jews will cause them to repent and they cry and they mourn and lament and that is zechariah chapter 12 and then their repentance will allow them to enter into the millennial kingdom and that is the fulfillment of the feast of tabernacles now a lot of people are disappointed every feast of trumpets they're disappointed oh we're not we're still here it's like only in the face of trumpets so that's the day for the rapture no listen to me in first corinthians 15 and in first thessalonian chapter four it's the trumpet of god and it's the voice of the archangel heaven will be ready for us to come this is where the celebration is going to be earth will be completely apathetic to what's going on okay and and so we will be taken and all the celebration is up there but when he comes back with us every eye will see everyone will hear every initial you understand that will be an event that no one will miss and that is on the feast of trumpets i believe because that is exactly the fulfillment of all three of them together in jerusalem at the very original date of the of the holidays so that was a long answer to a very short question so pastors any insights in addition that you would like to add to what he said i'm sorry [Laughter] any uh additional insights to that question answer what he said [Music] all right well pastor barry here's one uh why does god release satan after the 1000 millennial kingdom doesn't that seem to be a little strange i can't hear you mike why did god release satan after the thousand years millennial kingdom oh oh okay sorry you guys don't have to bear with me i've got hearing aids in both ears i've got major hearing loss so i have a hard time hearing certain consonants and things so if you'll bear with me by the way my new body has these huge ears on it so i'm looking forward to that yeah that's a great question and i think everybody ponders that from time to time what in the world could possibly be the reason for releasing satan after an eden-like condition on the earth for a thousand years the king of kings and lord of lords ruling from jerusalem the world being ruled in righteousness for all this time and then satan is cut loose for a while i think the important thing to note is that the world is going to experience absolute perfection for a thousand years jesus himself is going to rule all judgment will be done immediately and righteously and he is going to rule fairly this plant for the very first time since it was created in the fall in the garden so it is going to be a marvelous time for a thousand years and then the heart of man is going to be exposed when satan is released for a brief time and a multitude from all over the world is going to cite against jesus and therefore solidify uh their basic eternal destiny in having experienced jesus rule the earth having experienced his fairness having seen his goodness having his expression of love manifested throughout the whole world man is still going to choose the devil over him and fight against him and he will consume them as this portion of history comes to an end so i think really i like to look at it like this i think the millennium and the release of satan at the end basically is the end of god's efforts to reach humanity he created man in the garden gave him one rule what'd man do he broke it man then began to live out all over the earth and he became within a couple of millennials so wicked that god destroyed the whole earth then god gave man a law man broke the law man added to the law so god gave man his own holy spirit to live and dwell on the earth and the church in a lot of ways has done exactly what the jews have done they've added a multitude of things to the word of god and violated god's word and so finally jesus is going to come back and rule himself personally on this earth and that will basically bring an end to god's having done everything to reach mankind and in the end man is going to say many will say we're choosing satan over the lord and side with him so there is a purpose for it but one thing we have to remember is we're going to be here with him ruling and reigning with him because we see him we'll be like him and it'll be a wonderful time on the earth for that season after that we enter into eternity and a new heaven a new earth in which righteousness dwells and in it is nothing that creates an abomination or a lie and will be there forever and ever amen amen amir or pastor gary any anything to add only to say that you know it's a commentary on the sinfulness of man's heart because the people who lived during that millennial period you would think that they would be so enthralled with the prince of peace and still when the when satan is released at the end of the thousand years and the nations are still deceived it just is a commentary on the depravity of man's heart yeah yeah absolutely i really struggled with god about the whole concept of returning to reign here for a thousand years you take me out of here to a place you have prepared for me it's heaven do i have to come back to this place yeah and then i realized that if there is one thing i need to see is the fact that man's heart is so desperately uh uh is evil and wicked and then when i see the great white throne i will understand even more so how righteous god is in his judgment right because even when everything was so perfect men will choose to follow satan for a little time that he is being released so i mean it's to me it's the display of men's heart as pastor gary said in and uh and we for us and and then i asked god so why thousand years i mean you know it's too long you know i'm a jew yeah you jews have so many questions and complaints questions but then the lord reminded me that for uh god a thousand years like one day and we will be in our glorified bodies so for us really it will not feel like a thousand years and uh it's going to be great i mean we will we will be able to eat whatever we want and [Applause] we yeah you know ham bacon you know i want to tell you something about you guys have too many names for these things you know the story of the jewish guy that uh some people were looking for a city and they stopped by him and they said where is that city and he said look whatever you do go straight and turn right because if you turn left there is a bacon tree there so they were riding their horses they were reaching that place and they said what is a bacon tree let us find out they turned left they were attacked only one survived he came back to the jew he said why did you tell us about a bacon tree he said i told you not to go there's a bacon tree there he says what is a bacon tree and the jew said oh wait a minute oh it's a ham bush good times all right let's go all right pastor gary ambush all right over to hamrick okay go ahead hamlet if the church is the bride of christ who are the guests at the wedding feast and i think that's a question about the uh maybe the end when the church comes i don't know but have you heard that question before no okay who wrote that [Laughter] well they can't get in though right because they don't have they're not clothed in the garments is this the same parable we're talking about yeah that's that's that's all i have here is just the question so there are some assumptions in the question um the guests of the wedding feast is the is the question good well you know if they're not the bride they have to be saints but they are not the bride yeah who are the saints that are not the bride there's the saints of the old testament and there's the saints of the tribulation neither one of them is the bride that's right so i believe that's the only i mean that's the only option i can have in my mind okay anything to add anything nope okay all right um amir and and gentlemen think think about this one too when did satan fall like lightning and why does he still have access to god in heaven all white questions need to be directed northward i don't think we can answer any of the why questions why god allows this or that or any other thing but uh knowing that he does have access and we do know also from revelation 12 that he's going to come to a point where he is denied access and he is thrown down to the earth knowing he has what a short time and literally all hell is going to break loose on the earth during that time but you know i think you know we look at this as sons of god came and presented themselves before the lord and satan came with them and god was bragging on job and have you considered my servant job a righteous and upright man in all of his ways and this you know god i think the lesson and one of the takeaways for us is that satan has to present himself before the lord before he can attack and afflict us directly everything that happens is god filtered and that's why paul could write in romans all things work together for good to those who love god to those who are the called according to his purpose now i you know i don't i'm sure like the rest of you i've thought from time to time lord don't be bragging on me because i don't want any of that stuff that that job went through to come my way but it does remind us that uh the end of job's series of trials he was blessed greatly and god did work all things together for good but satan couldn't do anything to him unless it was approved and allowed by god he gave him limitations on what he could do and i really think that's the only why portion that we can present scripturally as to why god allows them to continue with access to him in the heavenlies for the time being amir or pastor gary um if if satan once was a great angel and then he wanted to replace god isaiah 14 says he wants to go and be like the most high the most high means god is way on top then at some point satan was thrown down to a lower sphere in the but still in the heavenlies how do i know the bible says we're not fighting against what flesh and blood but against what power and principalities where heavenly place heavenly places and then we know that so it goes like that he was thrown down first to a lower place in in the heavenlies then in revelation 12 there was going to be what i call the great exchange we go up he comes down okay and then he will go even deeper to the bottomless pit for a thousand years release for a while and then be thrown down to the lake of fire so so he basically is being downgraded all the time uh until uh i mean he's he's done uh and that's why he's so frustrated he wants to be like the most high always he wants to replace god that's why for he's he's he's telling people to build a tower so they can reach high and replace god it's all about counterfeit it's all about taking the place of god but we all know that it's not gonna happen so satan is on his way down first from the heights of where god is down to a lower level then he will go down to earth then underneath and then just a short time released for the great judgment and then he will be thrown down to the lake of fire so that's it okay uh pastor gary this one's for you how will people get saved during the tribulation if the restrainer is removed so you know people can still exercise their intellect to arrive at a spiritual decision even though the holy spirit will be removed because the church has been raptured there's still going to be bibles around they're still going to be people who heard the truth but did not respond to the truth and they will be some of the first to connect the dots and then begin to realize oh all these things that we've heard that we denied we actually should believe you know i think uh amir we always go to uh shem in in in the old city of jerusalem and those those two orthodox jewish guys who run the shop dove and moisha and i always think about how those guys have such knowledge of the scriptures even the new testament but they deny jesus right now but i always think about those guys as being examples of people who will likely if they're still here at the time you know when when when all of this transpires who will likely be able to realize these these scriptures that we intellectually understand now have moved from our head to our hearts and so people will still be able to get saved because the truth is still unchanging and and his word will never pass away so people will learn to respond to the things that they've probably denied before and now they realize this is true indeed very well put amir or pastor barry any other insights john 6 44 says no man comes to me unless the father who sent me draws him he's still going to be drawing people to himself we know that probably the greatest awakening in human history is going to happen during the tribulation where there's a numberless multitude from every tribe tongue nation and people that have the testimony of jesus and the word of god so god is still going to be on the move and i think you know there's some people who look at some of the passages in scripture and and see it through the lens of if you heard the gospel and didn't respond to the gospel before the rapture the church that you can't be saved afterwards i don't agree with that for this reason most of us did not get saved the first time we heard the gospel so what is true then has to be true now but i do believe that there are people who will have hardened their heart as we see in the tribulation and a couple different passages where people call on the rocks on the mountain and the mountains to hide them from the wrath of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb so they know that it's god that is judging them but they entered the tribulation with the heart that was so hard they wanted nothing to do with the lord so they're in this position where rather than to say you know what god save me they will call on the earth to hide them from him so there are going to be people who are so hard that enter the tribulation they want nothing to do with god but there are going to be people like pastor gary said who received the implanted word which is able to save their souls and god is still going to be drawing people uh to himself uh during the the tribulation period no question about that you have to consider that they're in every church okay there are plenty of people who are the pew sitters who are hearing it and they're not responding to it every church but this one except this one yeah yeah um we sent them to your church but uh but but the truth is you know in some sense they are they're like the guests at the wedding banquet but they're not really part of the wedding ceremony they're not part of the bride they're just spectators they're they're on the sidelines they're hearing but they're not really putting faith and so you know you have to imagine all of those people have heard they just haven't responded well guess what when a crisis comes a lot of people start to respond and and it can be a genuine response i'm not saying they're only doing it you know to you know to save their hide but in reality when they realize the uh gravity of the situation and their own mortality they'll put two and two together and people get saved during the tribulation period now the bad news is as soon as they get saved they're going to die because they're you know if they take the mark of the beast i mean if they refuse the mark the beasts are going to die for their faith so you know the saints get slaughtered during the tribulation period too we see that in revelation so you know the good news is they can still be saved but they're going to you know be taken home pretty quickly thereafter wow that's very sobering actually to think about that just the sheer hatred for christians yeah uh and they will have no restraining ability of course those tribulation saints they'll just be plowed over and on the run so thank god for churches like yours that are have none of these people none of these people that is a blessing yes amir will there be a resurrection for believers who die in their earthly bodies during the millennium millennium residents what happens to their bodies okay well look the description of the millennium kin the millennium is is all mostly throughout the old testament not the new testament it's very interesting new testament is giving us really few verses only in chapter 20 of revelation but a very interesting thing is in daniel chapter 12. allow me to try to read try because i can't see anything and it goes like that are you with me hello it says this at that time michael shall stand up a great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people and there shall be a time of trouble that's the tribulation such as never was since there was a nation even to that time and at that time your people shall be delivered everyone who is found written in the book so the only the only ones that will be delivered are the believers because what book is the lamb's book of life there's only one book that if your name is there you are going to escape that now watch this it says then the following thing and many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake some to everlasting life some to shame an everlasting contempt and that is of course not that's not the resurrection of the rapture because the resurrection of the rapture is not some dudes and some to this it's only to have their bodies change and to meet their souls coming with jesus and to reunite and to be with the lord this is what we see at the end of the tribulation when there is the second resurrection the bible says blessed are those who have part in the first resurrection because over them the second death has no power so there's two births there is two resurrections and there's two deaths and so we are going to see at the end of the tribulation of the millennial kingdom that second resurrection and i believe those who came to faith throughout the tribulation throughout the millennial kingdom will be uh resurrected for eternal life i see okay um gentlemen any other insights on that question yeah i think it's important to recognize that the the first resurrection we would better describe as a category then an event there are old testament saints obviously the church age and tribulation saints they are all part of the blessed group the second resurrection is the resurrection of the unbelieving dead at the great white throne judgment and it is exclusively the unbelieving dead that stand before god and give an account for all the reasons they rejected christ all the sins they committed in their life and they are going to be judged according to their work so we do have you know as amir pointed out the rapture of the church which is the re uh reuniting of the church-aged saints uh who are reunited with their body and spirit and have that glorified body that we're all looking forward to amen and then of course you've got the question before about the millennial saints those who uh you know are saved during the millennium and including those who are saved during the tribulation they have to be part of that first resurrection as well because they rule and reign and righteousness with christ during the millennial reign so you know rather than trying to to put the first resurrection at this inserted into this chronology i think it's best if we just understand it that it's a category of people who are believers in christ in the second resurrection is the resurrection of the unbelieving dead i want to pitch this one to the whole group here this is kind of one that requires some quote sanctified imagination because it's really not clear in scripture but will we the church be riding horses during the tribulation in preparation to the return to earth and horses that's a lot of horses are the yeah so any thoughts on that yes we will be riding the horses on our way back from heaven to earth the bible says so yeah um this is i always tell people in the second coming of jesus you want to see his back not his face you want to ride behind him because he's not coming to to save the world from sins he's coming to judge and it's a different uh way to see jesus now so my point is the only time i know we are going to ride horses in this whole scenario is on the way back to earth from heaven um and and that's it so will we have to practice before i don't know so are there animals in heaven not cats absolutely true yeah dogs on the other hand there's not in heaven there's not that for sure you know the difference between a cat and a dog see if you're locked up in a room with your dog and you die your dog will die out of sorrow if your dog if you're dying with your cat your cat will eat you yeah that's true choose who you want to feed well there it is but uh we have two cats i don't know god god knows why so um i'm gonna push this till five how's that the publish time was uh 4 45 but i just don't i think we got these two last questions and i think they're really worth uh throwing out there um pastor gary if someone becomes a believer during the millennium when will they receive a glorified body that's that's a very hard question um any of you guys want to pitch in as well gary knows the best so yeah so i'm i'm in the military told me my last name is not kosher so don't when do i get a glorified body uh well i mean one of the things that is a mark of the millennium is longevity people will be they will they will think that you have died at a young age if you die younger than a hundred so one of the things is that there's going to be longer people are going to live for hundreds of years it's going to it's a whole different atmosphere during the millennial period where there is this uh compatibility between the animal kingdom and and ourselves and longevity of life so you know i don't think there's going to be as many people dying because there's going to be a lot more people living but i don't believe now these guys can jump in i don't believe that those who died during the millennial kingdom get their glorified body until the end of the millennium yes anybody else want to pitch in on that that was very well put yeah i mean perfect even when with a family name [Laughter] so the big elephant in the room is china china do they play a role in the last days i of course every every country plays a role um in in in the last days god knows all of them now it seems like china is working hard to cause america not to stay as their superpower china wants to take that position i'm not sure if it's going to be china or not but i know that there is going to be a massive army coming from the east across the euphrates on the way to the jezreel valley according to revelation chapter 16. so um kings of the east might be china we don't know 100 i'm talking about hundreds of million of cavaliers so is it china is it india we're not sure because they're all coming from the east east of the euphrates but um china plays a significant role in the destabilization of the world right now in order for i believe eventually they don't know that i don't think they planned that to to eventually have the antichrist rising from western europe but i believe that in their quest to replace america as the world superpower eventually the world will enter into such chaos that it's it's the world global uh global government that will then be introduced in global economy global religion all of those things are already there waiting they're on the shelf they're ready to be shopped by the billions around the world and the more chaotic this world is going to be the more these things will appeal to the ordinary person if a government of a country cannot give me an answer then maybe a global government can give me an answer if my dollar will not worth a dime then maybe a global currency will if a religion cannot really save me then maybe i have to adjust to a different religion that is more inclusive so china plays a role like many other countries play roles in in the history of of eventually coming to the point where the world will turn into what the bible describes uh we that we will see so no i don't see the word china in the bible we'll do this and that but remember the world eventually is going to be uh in in a place that china is definitely at this point helping to create and uh and i don't think they know that you see that's the thing in their quest to become a world superpower they undermine all other things and and and look what we see now so i want in the remaining time i want to ask the two american pastors and then i'm going to ask you from the israeli side of this the question is based on the biblical prophecy what can we as americans expect to see happen in the next months and a few years at the rate and pace that we're going um pastor barry do you want to start what are some of the things that we as believers can expect to see on a general level what are we supposed to be bracing for from a biblical perspective in this country in the next few months and years if the lord should tarry i i think we just heard a message about what's happening and where things are going and i think one of the most important things for us to remember is that when the world changes we don't change tactics we still preach christ in him crucified the great commission isn't adjustable so to speak we still have the same responsibility no matter what's going on in the world as we see the continued decline the move away uh from all the things that we have enjoyed so wonderfully here uh in america the the blessings that were established by our founding fathers that are now being moved away from uh the separation from the support of israel that we're experiencing genesis 12 3 is still in play and the lord will bless those who bless israel and curse those who curse israel we know as amir said that america is going to decline but we need to remember that change is absolutely nothing for the church we still have the same responsibility to be salt and light we still have to remember that we've been commissioned by god to go to the world and preach the gospel and i think that's part of what has diminished the authority of the church in these last days is morphing the message into something more palatable instead of just doing what paul said i know this one thing and that is christ and him crucified and that's what we deal with today wow very well put very well put i want to hear your perspective pastor gary you know um it's it's difficult sometimes to discern the signs of the times and um the church has gotten it wrong before you know in the 1930s when panzer tanks lined up in front of churches in europe everybody was convinced this was the tribulation hitler was the antichrist mussolini was the false prophet you know and he was certainly an antichrist small a so there's always this danger of like does this mean this does this mean that i think um you know i don't proclaim to be a prophet nor the son of a prophet um but i think one of the things that is clear that is happening is an erosion of truth in the church and um i think we're going to see churches either rise or fall during these days where truth is either declared or not and um and i think part of what we're going to see in the culture is attack on the churches that are teaching the truth and i think that we have to prepare ourselves for some measure and this this word is relative but for some measure of suffering um the american church has been comfortable for too long and we are we have not experienced the kind of suffering that our brothers and sisters experience around the world that's right and so we've been sheltered and i think that shelter is about to be removed and i think and i don't say this to instill fear or panic but i say this as just a way of preparing ourselves you know the early church they they were persecuted nero would take christians and uh tar them and light them on fire as human torches in in his garden um are we at that place i i'm not sure it's hard to say but at the same time all of us would probably agree that some of the things we see happening in our culture today we would never have dreamed of just 10 years ago so when you begin to think well what does the next 10 years look like surely it wouldn't be this this or that well it might and so we have to really um be strong in the lord and um we have to um be strong in the truth and um we have to prepare ourselves for what might be a natural result of just being a christian in today's world who really loves jesus and stands for jesus there may be some measure of suffering down the road yeah wow that very responsible answers yeah pastor barry i say something before amir closes us up first peter 4 17 for judgment begins at the house of god and if it begins begins with us first where will the ungodly and the sinner appear for if the righteous one is scarcely saved or saved with great difficulty what will happen to those who do not believe god and i wanted to just say this because this is something we have personally been experiencing and there's been a saying floating around our home lately and that is that the winnowing fan is in his hand and we personally have seen things happen in the past month that have just stunned us and shocked us personally as a pastor and his wife and uh our staff at the church where god is exposing things now in just radical ways to get his church ready and he's begun the separating of the wheat and the chaff i believe in these last days because we're headed for judgment but it begins with god's house and i see that as an exhortation to all of us here let's make sure that our lamps are filled with oil let's make sure that we're walking uprightly let's make sure that our house is in order and that we're ready for that moment and twinkling of an eye experience and not deceive ourselves or fool ourselves into churchianity being a replacement for christianity and let's just make sure that we are ready for when he gives the order for that angel to blow that trumpeter for jesus to come and get his church amen amen amen so amir um this is really the last the last uh question uh we talked about america um you see israel they have a new government there's a lot of change going on there too where do you see it going um on that side of the pond over there first of all i want to say that uh america was formed by god for a reason and also for a season there is no empire that lasted forever and we have to acknowledge that but think about the nation that took part in making sure that the state of israel will be born and making sure that jerusalem will be acknowledged as the capital of israel and making sure that uh so many amazing things will happen in favor of israel even in the last few years so i hope and pray that another accident will happen next year why not and i would yeah and regarding israel just like america is being perceived weak at the moment although you're strong you're being presumably israel is strong but is being perceived weak as well we've got a new government that is leaning on the votes of the islamic brotherhood in israel without their support this government wouldn't be standing and so the arab world and specifically our enemies they all understand that the government cannot take any extreme measures because they have they cannot anger the muslim brotherhood within israel so you understand to what degree of madness we reach that israeli government is for the first time in history is leaning on elements that actually denies israel's right to exist very i mean it's it's crazy this to say mike that we are literally at the point where we are inviting the attack on israel we so at the same time america is declining at least its presence in the middle east is fading away israel is standing alone and israel is not really what israel was a year ago you know when we were feared by most people around us and everybody wanted to have peace with us rather than war with us now the mice all are coming out of their holes and iran is moving forward with its nuclear program to the point of weapon within weeks and we all know that when their policeman is not in their area all the thieves are celebrating and when i say thieves remember ezekiel 38 is all about theft it's all about coming and stealing things from israel so everyone not just here the whole world is going to go through challenging times in the near future but the good thing is is that we do have a wonderful hope and a wonderful promise the blessed hope and the great promise that is very soon coming to take us to be with him and if remember somebody taught me that if by mid november you see christmas lights you know that thanksgiving is around the corner which means if we already see signs that will will be in the tribulation we know what has to happen before so this is this is the hope that i have i already died to the right to have a great wonderful national government i die to that right i'm only holding on to my heavenly passport right now which will be soon stamped um i use the israeli one just to get back to israel back and forth but the heavenly one is ready and that's what all of us should be with our heavenly passport ready with our the bible says in colossians chapter 3 if indeed you were raised with christ and seek those things which are above where christ is seated at the right hand of the father seek those things and don't look for the things which are on earth so we are going to be disappointed by many people by family members by church members we're going to be disappointed by our governments and military we're going to be disappointed but we will never be disappointed by the king of king and lord of lords and we need to say seek those things and set our mind on those things which are above so the things which are above we need to think about living for him now being raptured very soon standing before the bema seat having the marriage uh feast and and returning on those white horses back here and reigning and ruling with him and then of course entering into the the um new heavens and new earth and the new jerusalem we have so many wonderful promises and so we have to be patient perseverance is needed um and remember perseverance and endurance are are working on your character and character produces also um hope and that is what we need nowadays hope yeah very well put and we do have hope don't we gentlemen we do have hope and uh that is gonna i'm gonna cut it off here here's some instructions um i know that many of you want to meet and greet these gentlemen up
