hey guys sample here and today I'll be talking about look at that gear dude once again look at that now I revisited my original neck look at that [ __ ] hammer but only to correct some mistakes I made and add some extra commentary the reason why I want to talk about next time us again right now is because I recently cleared the entirety of naxxramas look at that uh can I buy it dude and yes a private server is not a hundred percent accurate representation of naxxramas in vanilla Wow because some of the damaged values might be off and on the private oh look at those [ __ ] loot dude you remember the phylactery oh my god dude the earth okay um yeah I haven't seen this before okay the guy's [ __ ] or a few bugs and everything is [ __ ] or anything so it's not exactly the same no I remember I saw soda watch part of this video too okay that said though a lot of aspects are still the same so I felt that doing naxxramas on a private server was a good enough representation to now give you an honest review so to say of naxxramas infinitely Wow so now that I cleared it was it really that hard well to put it very shortly yes and that's all I have for now I want to thank you for watching this video I don't have so we'll end I'm just kidding was that a yes is obviously not enough and now that I experienced the full rate myself I'm ready to start digging into how hard and elaborate rating next Travis was in vanilla Wow okay so I talked about what you need to get into next times before but I want to elaborate on that a bit more first let me talk about the frost resistance gear oh sure like I said you've missing this is the worst Martian house and buy yourself a few green of the frost resistance items now you had to craft or gain frost resistance gear and this was this gear wasn't exactly cheap so I spent a whole lot of time farming mats to get the Glacial gloves the chest they really need to ice the resistances behind the clip like the thing is that was not enough to get the frost resistance real [ __ ] my mom actually used to farm this those essences of water like that was like one of her farming spots so you needed to do the echoes of war quest to get the fate of ramalon e quest which allows you to obtain an epic frost resistance ring and then I decided to give my argent dawn reputation up to revered so I could get the resistance enchant for the shoulders and then I was lucky to find some random blue necklace on the auction house that had frost resistance and also some bait instead and then I finally had enough just to be part of killing saffron but hey the resistance gear was the easy part the most time-consuming thing when it came to getting ready for a naxxramas raid was farming the consumables let me give you a quick rundown of the consumables I used in that promise okay you ready here we go ten major mana potions 10 greater arcane elixirs ten elixirs of fire power threes and the low reputation tokens ten greater fire protection potions 10 greater nature protection potions 10 greater frost protection potions 10 greater shadow protection potions one brilliant hundred oil two flashes of supreme power 10 major scrolls blood potions 10 mage blood potions 10 electrics of fortitude 10 juju chills 10 duty embers 40 blessed some fruit juices 20 heavy room cloth bandages and 10 demonic ruins of bandages and tender mana group ok okay one thing you don't need to bring all this you should but you don't need to you probably you probably need to bring like most of it or you should bring most of it but you probably don't need to bring every single thing that being said do you know what I bring the raid nothing and then I ask if somebody has a spare flask hey and like let's just talk about bag space okay like how many items is this 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 so you have an entire [ __ ] bag slot an entire know entire bag assuming that you have the 18 slot bags full of consumables so if you're a hunter you have literally two bags that are just out of commission this is ridiculous stacks of five oh my okay so it's even more see I forgot I forgot about to post I totally forgot about that so yes it's even more it's like more than two bags well yeah imagine you being a warlock and then you have soul shards - holy [ __ ] man that's insane but that right there is the minimum the minimum amount of consumables I carried for one rate oh my god one rate and you know how much those consumables would be if you would just buy them off the auction house well that's what private server you'll be playing cuz every private service economy is different and I can only speak for mine and admittedly - kind of hyper-inflated so it's more than I'd say the average private server but on my server that would account for about 800 to a thousand gold and consumables let me say it again I would have an epic mount plus skill worth of consumables in my bag every night I would rate next ramus and yes I wouldn't use all of my consumables in one night imagine wiping like just imagine wiping how [ __ ] mad would you be I I would I would haven't liked the real film wasn't ideal and we kept wiping on either Katie or four horsemen you're damn right over to my ankles and have barely anything left so people can learn of the void zones because of this very heavy grind you cannot read next ramus by being a raid logger you just you can't you're so reliant on these consumables that you have to do so much stuff on the site I dairy farming money to buy consumables or Farnum yourself with herbalism and our holy [ __ ] I did i leveled both the 300 and made most of the potions myself and for things like greater shadow protection potions I had to go to duskwood to the level 24 is Graveyard to farm grave Moss to make shadow oil to then eventually make the shadow resistance potions yeah I've had countless herb mark sessions so far and sometimes even streamed them cuz I was kind of bored and also wanted to give people a bit of a behind-the-scenes look into next week there's a video calling this guy out on his [ __ ] I mean like like why like what's it called like I may just tell me Oh fun fact I went from having no Bank sloths and no alts to now having orders are coming back slot on my main character and having three extra outs just for consuming all drama and managing and the consumables made me make my own spreadsheet where I can see what I take out meaning to be ready for the next rate so I hope I was able to put in perspective just how much time and effort it took for one player to get prepared yeah absolutely you can see people in the guild are all prepared individually it doesn't mean you are ready as a guilt to hop into naxxramas because now i want to talk about Ray Knight because you didn't just fly the next ramus and there you go you're ready these were all the world Bob's to every raid night in next rammus started at yoshiyama Isle yo Jambo I'll just call it you yama for the people that don't know Mogambo Isle is in islands in strangle from Ville where you can handing coins Biju's and armor items that all drop weight not let me see I'm gonna just take this right I rated in bleeding edge progression guild on the NER Zhul server we killed for Kel'Thuzad 14th in the world I had moved to China and played with a famous Chinese guilt called the 7 in rattle it oh dude dude this is actually no I want to talk about this right here look at the screenshot this was the first guild that cleared a B BT back whenever they were released in China will get their [ __ ] gear look at that mage that majors wearing tier 3 look at the the priest that priest is also in tier 3 powered in tier 3 shoulders where's the rest of the pieces here is there any more tier 3 that I can see um I'm sure there might be a couple of pieces here so these people were literally wearing gear from the last expansion that is in my opinion they were just wearing it for the screenshot I don't know maybe not because I knew there were people in my guild that killed Illidan with Nell Nell therians tier and there were a couple people that using like stylings impeding scarab and [ __ ] like that too so that's not even true at all yeah maybe maybe they put on the trans Mel for the remedy apparently geared just for the screen shot but maybe not also it wouldn't make sense like for this guy to only put on the shoulders if you were gonna try to show off people would use tier 3 back in in BC rating okay okay I believe I have the experience to fix some of the inaccuracies in the video we're gonna take a more friendly approach and I'll do my best to lay off the memes one of the top rating guilds of the frost main server once again not my guild we didn't kill patchwork but we didn't kill patchwork I think we killed a noob rekon mr. kurosu vias and one more he says he was in a top rating guild on his server but that's relative to the population of the server and the quality of the players he then goes on to say he only killed three bosses in the entire instance which means everything after those three bosses he's never seen personally some is everything is hearsay what he's read on the forums etc black maillard for us was tough as hell to you know early black and lair early molten core it was it was pretty goddamn hard I I'm not trying to be a dick I'm sorry I'm establishing a baseline for his guild his guilt I would say was average to below average and there's nothing wrong with that casual rating is fine I've done it myself look look if your if your guild goes into nax it's not a casual kill like that's like saying a five night a week guild is casual because you're in method that's ridiculous it is not it's not a casual Gil another gilts and other expansions this is like for example if I made a leveling guide if you compared my leveling guide to someone like Johanna Johanna would mop the floor with me let me give you an example such as the locust swarm of a new trick on this is low that not a new perk on now later in Laura's video ok shows a different photo of like them an aptly named set loathe em so perhaps it's just an editing error hello got a four horsemen fight you need eight geared tanks right I remember in my go we actually had to try and steal gear tanks from other guilds we didn't do the four was sex did we actually have yeah cock-block for almost all guilds who went deep into next because of the gear tanks poaching definitely happened went through it there with the five eight Stormrage three eight Cenarion hide of the wild and I think that's the will of our look from Zuzu group that was my rating here basically now I'm hoping this is a screenshot of him in his raiding gear pre aq forty because if you went into max with this kind of gear you would get wrecked if his guild mates had a similar gear level see I don't know why like alright here's the thing is I don't know why a lot of these classic people are so intent on like reinforcing that they have experienced from a game it was like ten years ago right I mean like if you win and you played an axe on a private server right now it's gonna be pretty much the same thing maybe it's 10 percent easier or maybe it's 10 percent harder but the amount of gatekeeping in the classic community is honestly funny maneet the guy cleared max then he cleared max it doesn't matter if he did it at 60 whenever 60 was the cap or now the difference between private servers in the actual game is not going to be that big like I just I think it's so weird that people put so much stock and experience in a game from like 12 years ago I just think that it's silly like do I really have like it so like I did like zg and [ __ ] and classic and I did all the raids in bc2 does that make me an expert in zg and the raids and Burning Crusade in like a way that someone if they did them on private servers wouldn't be not really no that just means that I did them before then it's just ridiculous like the only thing that this person like I think one point that this guy's actually making that does make a lot of sense is the way things like actually were right cuz like if you just look at the raid in a vacuum then you don't remember like all the other things that were like going along with the raid right and like this is what he was talking about before with like you know only doing certain bosses etc but I think there's a lot more to it than that max was endgame and he was experienced I don't know what I think the main thing is the AI and private servers is pretty scuffed it's not that bad it's not that big of a difference the grand for next consumables wasn't the same well I'm just saying like understanding the whole game and not just the raids difficulty in itself because there are more components to go into the difficulty of certain raids than just the raid itself such as fire resistance and other different confounding variables of the game in that time period right so you have like bad gear like what were people able to augment their gear with what did people have options for right and like those are things that whenever you actually did play back then will give you a unique perspective okay that that hopefully that makes more sense then understand about that they all had a really really bad time also possible that they just had really really bad rng or perhaps their guilt had a casual rating schedule which means they couldn't continue to farm black-winged while progressing into nax I grind it with feral gear but in rest of spec because it didn't want to respect I did next to no DPS killing wolves was horribly slow so he shows himself grinding very average mobs typically people who ground mobs for gold would grind things like the stairs in felwood for the fill cloth yeah or you'd drain mobs it's a standard Watson EPL they were plenty of ways to earn money yes having to respect your main character there was professions niche markets look at prosper Thomas's amazing series on ranks to riches there was alts if used to your alts to level by the time you were in next ceramicist could easily have a second level 60 character my preferred way of making income was doing GT KP so we'd run molten core and black-winged and then sell the items there to people who were looking to buy so just did they even do that like I don't remember like was that even a thing in vanilla wow I didn't even hear about that until like RAF I got honestly I feel like the whole thing is just yeah that's alright yeah that that's insane legions BWL Wow Muriel power mows Gil's attempted next 40 on weekends so next was Fi not a one day clear raid so why would guilts raid both Saturday and Sunday and it seems extremely unlikely most guilds would rage two to three days per week on a consistent schedule including weekdays dual spec I would have loved to have that in vanilla that would have been great Noah wouldn't have been great part of the charm of vanilla was your talent choices really impacted your game play and your reputation so you weren't just a paladin you were holy paladin you were just a row he were a subtlety rogue if you weren't in a hardcore trading guild you had more freedom with your talents so shamon you could put that extra point into elemental to get extra burst for PvP which means you much much more valuable one person standing in the wrong spot means he will do damage to all the other players with a different charge and it's so much damage that that one guy can wife half the raid in less than a few seconds it's a status the last boss and the abomination wing that is has an ability called polarity in fact it's not provides the raids into positive and negative each group gets a damage buff based off how many people are there if someone missed here's how it works right is you deal like it's like 3000 damage to everybody around you but everybody around you is dealing 3000 damage to you so you would deal 3000 damage to the people that are next to you but you would take like 30,000 damage because you had that many people next to you we're gonna I know that's not say they go to the wrong area they will hit everyone else for 2,000 damage 2,000 damage is definitely not enough to wipe half a raid that is has a chain ability chain leading could in fact kill people if it happened at the same time mess up but it definitely would not wipe half a rate keep in mind that all these race I just mentioned mentioned were 40 man raids and every boss dropped an average of three epics he views the lack of drops as a negative when in fact it's a positive scarcity of loot was a very very good thing when your raid got looted mattered and yes it took a long time to gear up but that also made it so much sweeter Oh hunter finally got his leaf out of em see he gets into his quest he's gonna be everyone else is happy he's you're happy well what I thought were more that were the question marks in chat what do them question marks for what do you question marking for well quit it you're [ __ ] wrong it's true scarcity a leak of loot caused you to go back and do old greats oh we didn't get it out of the next let's go do a q40 we didn't get it out of a queue 40 let's do B WL we didn't get out of b WL well I don't have a [ __ ] job and nobody else does here either because we were just raiding knacks so [ __ ] it let's go do molten core I'm serious scarcity is it was good blizzard even admitted nowadays that they give out too much loot that's bad game design I don't think so I think having utilized the entire end game is actually good game design you know what I think is bad game design doing one raid you have you have like four or five different raids and you just do one of them III mean you do that one primarily but that doesn't mean that all the other ones just have no value and the fact that there was scarcity of loot created value in those other raids is there another way they could have done it maybe but the way they did it was fine for him because guilds were an organism and you were playing together you were a group you were a family almost and seeing other people get what they wanted being happy was a really really good feeling I remember I got judgment bracers out of molten core and I was so happy it was my first epoch didn't matter that the stats are bad didn't matter that you couldn't really see it on my character so there were a total of around 60 to 70 people in that guilt 60 to 70 is a little bit far-fetched once again it's not 60 70 that's a little too much 60 to 70 is definitely an exaggeration I'm not sure he's number from you know perhaps if your guilt is more Kevin Allen or OD is that who I think it is full time job well didn't you ask maybe it's coming in and out but for guilt or serious while progressing learn acts and even late a cue 40 you did not stretch yourself that thin with gear I'd say it's more around 50 maybe up to 55 23 guilt managed to clear the entire rate which is less than point one percentage of the entire u.s. player base you're gonna call them out for using a comma instead of a period the best information on there's no okay that's too bad unless 124 guilts having killed Kel'Thuzad before TVC launch all the completion percentage of next is quite low if you add in guilds who got stuck on the Four Horsemen because of the eight tank cock-block which was quite a few guilts I think the number would be a lot higher I think a more relevant question would be how many players have killed any boss whatsoever in neck sporty and vanilla so why would are so few guilts and players that cleared the entirety of next Ramos because BC was he says with low completion percentage was two to three factors consumables because be the season gear and farming previous rate tiers partial web rule the biggest reason that an axe was not completed by most people was because a span next release on the 20th of June and by October there Burning Crusade a third a third that's three months three months is a very short life span for imagine no lifing arrayed so your gear can be invalid in 30 months oh wait does anybody want to be OD later paid people knew that a garrison was coming I would they bust their balls recruiting wasting gold and working so hard when they knew they could just slack for a little bit and then BAM Geary said next was also much harder than EQ 40 40 had some interesting mechanics like the twin emperor's tanking the beam on cthe on however knacks required a much larger time commitment that some gilts couldn't do it was also more punishing there are a lot of mechanics where you'd screw up you would kill yourself and/or wipe the rate and now I know why so many guilts fell apart it's because raiding next ramus is really being expensive but can you imagine doing progression rating index traumas I mean where you burn through your consumables as every single wipe would cost them hundreds of goals and consumables you also needed a ton of consumables I mean yeah right I mean obviously you do just one second let me read this half the people in classic will quit by level 30 look dude I don't disagree with you I think that will probably happen I think most people will quit before level 30 absolutely I love you more than I shouldn't a stranger I'm glad you're back consumers probably cuz for noobs maybe that's one of the reasons why we never got too far for next rammus you had no chance without consumables like yeah literally every single raid I was in during X Travis everyone was like buffed up the ass with rate consumes so here is a major contradiction you needed consumables they didn't really use them yet every raid was certainly buffed with them and this was one of the things that really wore on me as a healer see I want to say one thing right free raid was is that okay whenever you're talking on stream for hours on end you're gonna say a few things that are a little bit contradictory and also these aren't necessarily contradictory neat you needed a time consumables that's a fact and my Gil people didn't really have didn't really use that much consumables that is not these two statements are not contradictory he could come to raid and be buffed out while at the same time people in his guild were not that buffed out now here's what I'm going to assume he nobody was buffed out and maybe a few times he used a flask and it was expensive so he'd remember it as like man [ __ ] yo I spent a lot of money using consumables I mean there it is certainly buck with them and this was one of the things that really wore on me as a healer if you were a healer and you had to farm consume what a second Esmond you're defending someone who is a known wire in the community you do not know about him as much as you think hamsterwheel was a dumbass he flex doing nax when he never raided in vanilla to begin with I swear the worst thing about classic is the community who cares who cares like he did nax like if he did it on a private server then he did Knox I mean do you really think that it's that much different like I think the the variance between private server knacks and live nax back in 2006 is probably less than fifteen percent and even so I bet private servers make it harder than it was because I've heard as fond has told me that and other people have told me the same thing where things are intentionally even harder than they were to make up for the fact that they don't know the exact values Wells you were screwed because you did next to no damage to loves so farming was extremely slow and extremely painful as I mentioned before there were plenty of ways to earn gold as a healer in world of warcraft as for consumables the only ones that really uniquely affect a healer would be manor ins because the ones in the open world are Bo p there are tradable ones but they jump in scola man's by the time your servers on max less and less people will bother running five man dungeons the resolution would be to bring a friend and grind them together and then get fel cloth off the demons compared to tanks and caster DPS healers actually had it quite well off when it came to consumables that's so true because also back in the day you'd have to spend so much [ __ ] money repairing plate gear that I had my guild start paying for my repairs because I was like I'm not gonna go in the cares in and spend all day wiping on the horses next to a tune Minh because this guild sucks this much dick and have to spend 150 golden night on repair cost like you're gonna you're gonna pay me for this or I'm just gonna go DPS like I call it now they call it guild repair yeah exactly like dirges kickin chimera chops were [ __ ] expensive and so are the flaccid size you can only farm chimera tenderloin from like [ __ ] these like elite mobs tanks needed greater stone shield potions chair chops and flask that item airons are pretty expensive whoever in my experience guild banks would often help offset some of these costs even for farm content you're darn right your tank will be using a flask Kaster said flask of supreme power not this thing well you didn't have to use this for farm content it helped especially on bosses like Thaddeus and loathe them yeah where you get damage increased buffs so what buffs what a healer be bringing to the raid sage fish delight that's the mp5 food pretty cheap well ocean very cheap to craft flasks of distilled wisdom this was not needed or required ever sometimes you could make a case for popping a Titan spice maybe a chromatic resistance flask on kel'thuzad but no healers did not need two flasks they were never really required two flasks wizard oil very cheap there was the gizzard gum and crystal force bees were not required you could farm them if you wanted to I personally only did crystal force because it was super easy and then of course there's mana potions major banners could get a little expensive because of the dream foil however superior Manas weren't that much worse even greater Manus were super super cheap to farm you could choke those like candy rank six pots so from the PDP vendor you can buy a thing goes five you just chuck those those are like what's six silver each or something like that super chip of shape and then the felwood buffs so that's the demonic burns proper root tubers and night Dragon's Breath these are quite easy to get as well and last but not least is charged so assuming raid comp how much longer is emotions they're only used on the four horsemen okay is it the expensive consumable boss I will admit that you could have it halt come in terrain required an arcade bar which Levesque was super cheap it's from the instance you're on loathe it Lothos a GPS race an extreme dps race you had two min max go balls to the wall night falls here bring all the World War buffs or nuts putting shadows appear on wood extremely [ __ ] your DPS the closet I know if you won't know the final step to actually getting into the Institute was tier two in three four minutes was a [ __ ] on its own so it was kind of expensive at all that's so true dude like I mean look there's nothing like all right know that that's totally true like I got I got I got able to be in next okay I got a tune Fornax in vanilla Wow because I was like oh farmer to that means the Guild's gonna invite me who didn't [ __ ] happen but and like you'd obviously get [ __ ] revered you wouldn't even need the righteous orb right - swords weren't really a ridiculous price because you needed them for Crusader everybody had Crusader on their weapon everybody was farming these out all the [ __ ] time you know it was easy to get into an axe it was easy to zone into an axe monarchy was approximately two hundred gold but if you did from your period best you're most likely gonna be revered anyways because you didn't just fly in extremis and there you go you're ready to rock now every raid night in next drama started at yoshiyama Isle first of all on this Isle you could trade in a reputation token for a pretty handy buff spirit of zanza and for fights where you needed a lot of HP and or mana regen this spirit of Sansa was an absolute necessity the spirit of zanza was a nice side buff if you get it but it was not required ever thing is you need to be revered with these antler tribe to get this so that's not a thing taking into consideration but any Raider worth their salt would have already had their shoulder enchant which requires exalted the second reason why everyone gathers there is the spirit of Zen lar buff after that it's time to get the rallying cry of the Dragon Slayer buff it's another must-have alright now that everyone's in Orgrimmar what's next and fel what you can cleanse flowers and those flowers give you an extra buff the one you're going for is the song flower serenade so then after all that we still have to go to the Darkmoon Faire after doing all that it's finally time to get a portal to the Undercity and fly the lights hope once you're in front of naxxramas everyone starts buffing their groups and when that's done it's finally time to step into next Ramos okay and what do we do when we got back buffed up and wiped we go right back to strangle Torvill again to buff up for Katy once more wow so he's talking about the private server world buff meta this was not a thing back in classic yes there were world buffs they had cooldowns and so they weren't used anywhere near the level they are in private so of course I'm not dead in mind hopefully a classic goes with the vanilla and not the private server style of buffing it's almost like I have PTSD from old man promised in that godforsaken place lots of memories there but not all of them were really great next 40 just destroyed our guilt I think there could be some bias in his video just because of his negative experiences in that my one memory that goes above all other memories besides the memory that I have of not winning corrupted ashbringer whenever it dropped was there is this guy III don't remember his name right off the top of my head he was a paladin and our guild master or sorry our raid leader I we got to the four horsemen and we were sitting in front of the four horsemen everybody was just you know looking at them and I asked them do I have time to walk to the store and he's like yes so I literally walked to the store while he's explaining four horsemen I walk back from the store with my friends and we're hanging out we don't even go back home immediately we come back home I put back on the headset I unmute Ventrilo and he's still talking and then there was this one [ __ ] paladin that for some reason this guy was basically imagined zzzz but not really like I imagined you know what to imagine like a c-list shad from a country High School okay that's who this kid was this paladin and anyway the paladin got kicked out of the raid and this is while he was explaining everything and he was about to pull the boss and we could see the pound and running towards the four horsemen down the little stairs and then over and he was gonna go into the room and our guild master or sorry rated or kicked him out of the group and I did the math in my head as I was watching him and I was like he's gonna be able to pull the boss he's moving slower and slower and right in like the last three to five seconds he pulls the [ __ ] boss and wipes the entire rate and then everybody wipes and then people obviously run around like chickens with their head cut off the Paladin bubble hearts out and everybody is [ __ ] pissed it was the funniest [ __ ] thing ever and I didn't even care but like our raid leader was going crazy it was the funniest [ __ ] thing he bubble hearth down exactly I did that with an exit yeah I'm ver just watching him the little [ __ ] feet walking down the little stairs and just knowing for a fact that he was about to [ __ ] this rate up and like the radiator was sort of get out of the room get out of the room don't you be in that [ __ ] room he's gonna pull the boss and everybody's obviously afk because he spent an hour explaining the boss so everybody's just sitting down there's like four people offline and he just kills everybody it was a funniest [ __ ] thing man hunt your wife I mean like they did that dot and so the dot probably killed people too McConnell we wrote you it actually wasn't McConnell I know that might be surprising to some people but it actually wasn't McConnell why didn't you ninja corrupted ashbringer mistake and cut TLDR was next forty really that hard yes but that was mainly due to ramped up difficulty it was much much harder than a cue forty it required a lot more time than a cue forty and there were some strict raid comp requirements like the four horsemen some consumables are needed not that much it was mostly time investment and getting the same people to consistently show up week in week out once a couple people flaked it was really really hard to replace them it was a lot of poaching going on getting replacement people was hard we were one of the top guilds and we had a lot of trouble finding recruits just because people worked at every guild was like asking them to betray their friends hey you don't like your group come over play with us we're pretty good some shady practices going on back then take all your gear and leave anyways I hope you guys like this more laid-back version so I don't really care if you like the video I don't really care if you subscribe you can if you want but I don't really care I've made this for myself see you guys in vanilla peace
