have worshipped god today is day 4 of the anointing for greatness and this day is for our young adults the infinity brothers and sisters i want us as a church to thank god for this special group of people in the house of god they are special let's appreciate god for what he has done for them that a lot of them make a lot of their peers that are there out in the world some do not know god many of them are there lost in the world but has pleased the lord to bring them into east into his house to bring them into his family let's bless god on their behalf let's thank god for their salvation eternal rock of ages today we want to thank you for our young adult want to thank you for the infinity brothers and sisters who want to thank you for this your chosen children i want to thank you for this special group of people in our midst we want to thank you lord you over god because there are youth days they are serving you we appreciate you for the privilege of knowing you we thank you for the salvation of their soul we thank you for that because they were once lost but you found them we want to thank you jehovah because they find their identity in you we appreciate you jehovah it's not of him that ironic or willing but the lord god mercy we thank you for your message that you have shown unto these ones our college students the young adults the marriageable age we thank you lord for our brothers and our sisters we are grateful lord for our for our children our daughters and our gentlemen we just want to thank you for our son we bless your name we worship you lord great is thy faithfulness be exalted and believe that up in jesus name we have prayed in the book of psalms 144 psalms 144 verse 12 psalms 144 verse 12 the bible says that our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth that our daughters may be as pillars cultural palace style we're going to pray for our young that these ones our sons they are going to be as plants in their youth you know when when plants and plants are usually green and when they are green they blossom we are going to pray that our sons will blossom even in their youth in jesus name and our daughters will be punished pillars in the palace in the house of god let's pray for them father entire rock of ages we lift up our young adults into your hands we pray god almighty for our sons o lord that these ones o god will be like plants that are planted by the river father god these ones oh god they will blossom in their youths in the mighty name of jesus christ i pray for them god almighty that they are youths that we bless them in jesus name we pray for our daughters oh god that they will be punished by us there will be pillars that are sculptured in the palace or jehovah god they shall be found useful in your hands in the name of jesus we pray all god for our daughters oh god that this one day will serve you all the days of their lives in the mighty name of jesus no one will take advantage of them in the mighty name of jesus father they will they will spend their youth days of god even in in the work of god in the mighty name of jesus christ lord we commit them into your hands oh god that god you will you will keep them oh lord in the mighty name of jesus christ we commit the college students into your hands oh lord lord god almighty we pray oh god for them that you keep them even in their colleges oh god we pray god almighty that whatever they lay their hands upon they will prosper jehovah god almighty we pray that you will give unto them even the grace to overcome every form of pure pressure in the mighty name of jesus they shall be ambassadors for you wherever they go in the name of jesus they shall bear the mark of christ upon them in jesus name and no one shall be shall be able to trouble them in the mighty name of jesus christ father this one will serve you in their youth oh god in the mighty name of jesus christ father we are grateful first name we have prayed amen in the book of john 16 i want us to project that please john 16 vast 13 john 16 verse 13 the bible says however when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth for he will not ask on his own authority but whatever he hears he will speak and he will let you things to come he will tell you things to come i want us to pray for our young adults we know at this stage of their time is crucial this is the time that they make crucial decisions in life and they dare not make mistake because if they make mistake it might be fatal in my merger life we are going to pray today and say father let your spirit guide our young adults in whatever decision they will make decision in career decision of marriage decision in choosing friends any form of decision decisioning choosing jobs let's pray that the holy spirit will guide them they will not be wise in their own understanding but they will be guided by the holy spirit father we lift up our young adults into your hands we pray for them god that you will guide them into all truth holy spirit honest we were praying tonight that you will help them you will help them already all their decision they will not make error they will not make mistake father god their decision or god in career their decision in job their decision in their profession their decision in marriage their decision in choice of friends jehovah god we pray that your spirit will guide them they will listen to the holy spirit you will open their eyes of understanding you open their inner heart of god then we hear a voice from the back that this is the way and then we they will go in that way in the mighty name of jesus the enemy will not truncate that destiny in jesus name we have prayed amen proverbs 3 5-6 proverbs 35-6 the bible says that you know we should not trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding always acknowledging many shall direct your path still in line with me like my last prayer point i still want us to buttress this prayer point let's pray for this young adult that they will not be wise in their own understanding they will not listen to friends they will not listen to to to ungodly friends they will not listen to this to the suggestions that are not of god but god almighty will help them in that decision let us pray one more time further in the name of jesus we pray for our young adults that they will not be wise in their own in their own eyes they will not be wise in their own understanding but god almighty they will acknowledge you in the name of jesus and they will serve you o lord in jesus name they will acknowledge you in the mighty name of jesus and you will direct their parts oh lord in the mighty name of jesus christ father even if your way seems as if is there is no way that we pray that they will trust you enough to follow the ways that you have given unto them in the mighty name of jesus they will not be wise in their own understanding thank you lord in jesus name we have prayed finally i want us to go to psalm 68 verse 6 psalm 68 verse 6. god sets the solitary families it brings out those who are bound into we are going to pray for our young adults that's many of them that are there of marriageable age they want to get married both men and women we are going to pray for god to say to them this year we are going to pray for god to provide for them their own partners there will be no mismatching they will not make error they will not make mistake let us pray for them let us pray for god's guidance let us pray for open doors let us pray for mercy let us pray that they will divide god will divinely connect them to their partners jehovah god will lift up our young adults into your hands those that have manageable age those are trusting you for husband for wife those that trust you for life partner we are asking you tonight oh lord that you will hear from heaven oh lord and answer our prayer lord god almighty we divinely connect them to their spouses in the mighty name of jesus lord god almighty we pray oh god that shall not be wrong matching no lord that shall not be mismatching in the name of jesus but god almighty we bring them together and god almighty father we pray oh god this year that would be wedding wealth ringing in our homes in our churches in the mighty name of jesus any form of evil veil that the enemy has used to cover them tonight we command those ways to catch fire in the name of jesus i'm born into ashes father we thank you lord blessed be unto your name in jesus name we have prayed lord we are grateful unto you we appreciate you and we love you blessed be unto your name in jesus name we pray give god a round of appraise let's give god a round of praise let's give her a round of praise hallelujah praise god hallelujah praise god we are we excited to be here this is another wonderful day the lord has made and as we know today is the day 4 of afg and that is focused on the infinity as the young adult [Music] and over the time we've been blessed until we've been blessed yes we have been blessed and for those who are online i know you've also been blessed too um the anchor for today's um scripture is taken from the first timothy uh chapter four from verse 13 um verse 4 12 i'm sorry first timothy 4 12. i'm gonna read you are young but don't let anyone treat you as you are not important be an example to show the believers how they should live show them by what you say by the way you live by your love by your faith and by your pure life amen amen now that right there speaks a lot and i want you every one of you guys to all know that you are important in this ministry in this church you're very very important but there's a demand on you which the scripture is saying in here saying that show and tell pretty much that's what he's saying what do you think about it yes um i believe paul just goes right out first thing he hits you with is you're young so he's saying let's just put that out there and being young has does she don't have limitations so to speak and even when we know what young people usually are capable of and i think that's why he was admonishing timothy in that way and tonight has been dedicated to young adults but it's not exclusively just for young adults so who would you say a young adult is well that's a that's a very interesting question unfortunately i'm not going to give a straight answer to that because younger dose explains who a young adult is but most importantly i want to talk about your position as a young adult this is i think i i believe that as a young adult right this is the time for you to actually start aligning yourself step planning for the future because you can never you can never prepare enough i remember when i was younger you know you've been in the ministry and all that stuff going to church ministry and all that stuff i thought i was ready for marriage children and things like that but you now realize that you're never prepared enough so this is a time i believe we should start equipping ourselves with the word of god knowledge you know getting getting knowledge from everywhere okay so we are ready for the future amen that's a very good one and really it can be relative i can call myself a young adult there's always somebody who's older than you so we're all young adults we all children in god's presence and tonight we're starting off with a discussion session and the topic for the discussion is the imposter syndrome i know some of us are like what is that well we're gonna find out in a bit let's welcome our presenters tonight you're very welcome amen amen thank you so much for that warm welcome we are so excited to be here this evening my name is olivia lloyd i'm a speaker i'm an i.t professional by day coming all the way from liberia unlike most of you and i'll go ahead and introduce our panelists for today one at a time so i'll start from this side on this side we have faith omoto she's a graduate student pursuing health and policy and a health policy and health care management degree and she's currently working in research development with a non-profit specializing in assessing healthcare systems working worldwide and grant management wow she's intelligent and beautiful obviously thank you next up we have nosa john bull he's a computer engineering student minoring in business nosa is currently in his last year of university congratulations to my left i think this one right here is looking for a wife because he starts off with that he's a clinical data manager he wants everyone to know that he likes long walks in the parks and he also likes cooking and trying new food this is henry on my left welcome henry and last but definitely not least we have tammy teckable and tammy is a cyber security engineer in the airline industry intelligent um she's also an assistant food bank director at her local food bank wow can we get a hand round of applause for our panel list and i just want to thank all of you guys for agreeing to doing this this conversation is one that i'm so excited about because it's something that's so necessary talking about topics that we talk about with our friends and bringing it here to church and adding christ to it because this is where we should be having conversations like this so as you all already know i warned you i'm going to start by going in deep we're going to get deep and dirty and i need you guys to really be vulnerable with me so the first topic we're talking about is insecurities as we all know insecurities are a factor of life if you say you don't have insecurity you're probably lying so my first question to you all is is having insecurity a good or a bad thing and i'll start who am i right here with you faith so is having insecurity a good or a bad thing um yes and no i think insecurities make us unique um but it can also be a bad thing if you let it limit you um i was actually having a conversation with my friend the other day about how in your 20s you get so focused on what you don't have and you don't live your life in your 20s because you have this insecurity and that insecurity um so yeah it can be a good and a bad thing okay so i love that how you you pretty much say it's up to you to decide which direction to go with that how about you nosa so how is having an insecurity a negative or a positive thing um i wouldn't say it's a negative thing i feel like everybody has an insecurity i really feel like it's just up to you on how you want to control your insecurities whether you want to just like try to move past them meaning try to overcome your insecurities because insecurities like they can be overcome so if you want to overcome your securities then you can but if you don't then you will always be insecure i love the optimistic perspective that you know insecurities can go either way but let's be real y'all there's a lot of us that struggle a lot of young adults that struggle with a lot of insecurity whether it's physical whether it's mental whether it's where you are in life and to say you know it goes either way it's a difficult thing so be vulnerable with us not to say you all weren't because you were thank you but henry is insecurity a good or bad thing if you can remix it tell me is there something that at one point in your life you're really insecure about and how was that in your life tell me thank you uh i feel insecurities are actually good things i feel like for us it um helps set limitations um boundaries around us and how we should act and what we should do um of course in an extent it can become a bad thing if it overcomes you but overall i think it is a good thing for us to help humber ourselves and help check ourselves sometimes i feel these insecurities help keep us a check um even being vulnerable with yourself being able to grow just through these insecurities um without them i think it uh opens up a whole different platform that we probably wouldn't be ready for amazing i think you've brought up something that i rarely hear which is how insecurities lead you to humbleness wow great point last but not least how about you timmy what's your perspective on insecurities in our life um i would definitely say that um uh insecurities to me are an imagined fear uh i think that once you have your identity in christ jesus and who you know yourself to be in christ i'm looking at it from that perspective i think that your confidence is built because you're coming from a place where you feel like um i'm securing god so whether that's the physical insecurity where you feel like you're not beautiful enough or maybe financial i feel like there's a way that you can be affirmed in god so i look at his at insecurities as an imagine fear it's not real so that's the way i see it very very wise words amazing and just i love how we all acknowledge that insecurities are a real thing right it's up to you to decide how that plays out in your life and i also love how we bought in the fact that we need to find our security in the only one that can give us security which is our god so i'll go on to the next question and this is one that i've been itching to ask because a lot of us in this room are african or foreigners or you know you know international and one thing culturally that sometimes can be a huge pressure is the pressure of marriage um it's kind of like for a lot of us there's a checklist you know go to school get the degree get the good job get the husband or wife and have the kids so my question to you all is how do you think you know this pressure has shaped the attitude your attitude towards dating and choosing you know the right person in a both positive and negative way because it's not all negative it's positive too how about you faith how do you think it's shaped yeah this is such a good question um i just recently graduated so i'm slowly getting the hints like a little bit here and there the prayers are changing like my mom will say she's like the prayers are not changing it's not read your book anymore it's finding a life partner um but i think as an african woman i think the pressure is different um because there's this time frame that our society likes to put us in and it's like okay you've graduated you read your book let's say you're going to another you know program after that if you're not everybody's kind of like okay when you're going to bring that person around you're not getting any younger yeah you're not getting any younger like you know auntie start inviting you to marriage seminars and you're just like can i just learn how to be an adult first before i step into that but i mean it is something on my mind um the prayers have been changing but i mean there's there's still a lot to go through yeah awesome and trust me i know what you're talking about how about you nosa so how do you think this pressure has shaped you know your attitude towards choosing the right person dating do you think this is good pressure bad pressure talk to me um for me like i i can't relate to faith because i haven't graduated yet um but for me like i know the pressure's still there um being a boy is harder because like your mom is like scouting every girl you're talking to she's american don't want it and um it's going to be pressure regardless i just feel like you should take your time and um god will like always guide you towards the right time so i don't think you should be like very faced by marriage okay awesome i do have a follow-up question for you in a few seconds now you're not at the age you're in college still right yes does it affect your perspective towards dating so when you're picking a girl do you think about things like that be honest with me yeah cause uh like really anybody who i date has to be my mom and my mom is like the hardest person to me like she's very picky and um like nigerians don't really like you know if you're not nigerian if you're not african so kind of just got to be mindful for what i bring to my mom because yeah i don't want to talk that's true you were really real with this you know one thing i've noticed about the dynamics in here is that on this on this side we have the new newly young adults you know and on this side we have the most more seasoned young adults so y'all huh please you're pushing 30. i'm a young adult too so so you all have been young adults for a little longer so i want to ask you henry do you think that you know the pressure or your culture has anyway influenced how you even your attitude towards dating and do you think that's a good or bad thing um i think for me what is the most pressures i put in myself um i had an image of myself when i was younger how i would be married by 22 three kids by 27. you know i'll be a young dad playing with my kids now i'm 27 with no no wife and no kids so um it's the pressure i put on myself but growing up i've seen that it's better to marry late and to marry wrong so you know really seeking out yeah really seeking out god's will um taking my time um you know making sure i'm right to to present myself to my wife um not rushing into things but at the same time not delaying it waiting waiting waiting living in whatever pleasure just because i want to be single so yeah it's a pressure on myself but my family my mom doesn't really pressure me too much that's pretty cool that's great i love that that it sounds like you have a standard for yourself when it comes to dating which is amazing and then last but not least the beautiful timmy so tell me how has this affected your dating are you out here looking for a husband talk to me about your dating life um i will contribute to what you guys have said i think for me the biggest advantage for me waiting this long has been personal development personal growth i've really come into my own this last few years of like my 20s um it's one of the greatest lessons i've had is to really know um my purpose and my vision um i've used you know quote unquote my singlehood to discover what my purpose is in life and where god has taken me i've also worked on my career like the goals i have and really put that energy in there and i've been involved with you know programs and things that i do outside of work excuse me but i think definitely um like what he said it's more of the pressure you put on yourself because of what everybody else is doing you look at the ground and you see oh crap another friend is getting married you know let's just be real you know because that is real everybody wants to you know put it on instagram but the thing is you're going to be married way longer than your wedding day so you really really have to make sure that you want to be sitting with that person 40 years from now so i definitely agree with what henry said um in terms of what was the other question if you think these pressures are good or negative or positive i think it depends on how you handle your singlehood um a lot of people look at their uh i guess their waiting period as they're waiting for somebody to come by but we forget that time is actually passing by and your years are going and you don't want to look back when you're 40. no offense to the people at 40 and say what did i do in my 20s i was so young every year we think we're getting older you are so you want to make sure that you're utilizing each time that you have on this earth and fulfilling your purpose whether that's in marriage or in singlehood that's what i would say amazing and ask you can clap and as someone who's towards the end of you know the 20s i will say this you brought up a great point which is a period of waiting i think one thing that i've grown and matured to learn is that singleness is not a sickness it's not a disease it literally is a time god you have to be one-on-one with you and god for him to refine things in you because ah to be married is one thing to be miserable and married is a whole other thing you want a happy marriage so i think that's something that we all need to really think about thank you all oh my gosh y'all have been amazing so far so my next question is um just about and this are we live in a really odd era right now where our pressures do not just come from our family it doesn't just come from it comes from all over the place and we are seeing our friends excel through honestly we see the good in everybody's life and i think that leads to a pressure you know to kind of level up especially us as immigrant we're always trying to well for the most part we're always trying to excel and do better and do better um so my question is you know the drive to always the push that we have to always want to excel and do better do you think sometimes or the push we have to succeed do you think that can be problematic for young adults you know that that that desire to never quite be satisfied i'll start with you faith yeah um i would say it's a good thing to drive you in your career but nobody talks about the mental aspect of that and i i went through something where it was it was such a like a huge change for me and in that moment all i was thinking about and they say this for a lot of immigrants we're very culture based every decision you make you're not really thinking about yourself you're thinking about the people in the village that surround you your community so most of the time when you make decisions yes you're making it for yourself but you're also thinking about the people that will be feeding off of that decision unlike most people that are not really immigrants they can't relate um so the pressure is there sometimes you can sit in at night if you want to and think about it but i've i've learned to the only person i i've learned now to please is god and if god is happy everybody got to get with the program so that's it amen amen how about you said do you think um you know this pressure that we put on ourselves or wherever it comes from to always to succeed do you think it can be negative tell me tell me your perspective um yes i think it can be negative because i think um some people like they push their stuff too hard um if like and if they don't understand something like and they're struggling like it's taking the toll on them like they're stressing this stuff out just because they can't get to the next level on this one aspect and i just feel like when you start to put your all into something and it's going wrong then you feel like you're at the bottom of the bottom and you feel like you're at your lowest and it shouldn't really be like that because you know you're still breathing like there's a lot of things you can be thankful for and there's a lot of things that god has blessed you with and it's just for you to just realize and understand that um you shouldn't really be like stressed over like anything materialistic or anything like that that is not pushing your relationship with god and uh it's hard like it's hard because i'm in college so i understand like i can get stressed over not being able to understand something in my engineering class or something like that and i get stressed all the time but like i try not to let it take me farther than what it has to be awesome awesome and i'll turn to the my left here so henry i'm going to mix it up for you all a little a little there's a pressure to succeed right you know with social media and all that you know my question to you all we do understand that it can be negative is what are some pointers you can give young adults on how to manage that this pressure that we have we give ourselves our family gives us we look on social media and our friends are driving lambos at the age of 21. how do you how do we manage this pressure um yeah great question uh i feel the best way to manage this pressure as a young adult as a christian young adult is to find your contentment in christ oftentimes when you look to drive strive for these things you even when you receive them even when you get them you keep looking to get more you just keep getting you just want to go higher and higher and there's no contentment there's no um peace that you find from it if you find your contentment in christ whether you're making you know 50 000 or 150 000 you still have that peace you still have that joy so my advice to them would be to strive for that rather than striving different material things i know it's easier said than done but that's the best advice i can give all righty all righty so i'm getting the cue that we have to wrap it up so nosa quickly tell me how do us christian young adults oh tammy i'm so sorry please please charge the head and not the heart so tell me how do we as young adults handle this pressure young not only young adults but christian young adults right um i'll try and keep it short uh definitely um not seeking validation on social media because like somebody said it's a smoke screen it's a highlight reel everybody is dealing with one issue or the other nobody's live serve we don't have perfect lives basically um and like he said find your validation in christ jesus your identities in christ um and then don't forget that life is in stages i think now because of the age of technology everything moves so fast you know we have fast food restaurants fast food lives like everybody wants to microwave their challenges and just get through it life is in stages there are lessons to be learned at every stage in life um i think for me i remember i had like two years where i was seeking employment and i was a college graduate busting tables waitressing um and then eventually i lighted my first job and one of the things god told me was that this job is not your source i am your source don't ever look to this paycheck as your source i'm your source so today i told you to take your bags and go you go and so those are the things i keep in mind that god is my source he's the one who guarantees my life so just keep that in mind and know that your identity is in christ everything you ever want to be is in christ jesus wow wow powerful powerful so i hate to wrap this up we're having so much fun i just would like to close us up with just one word which is a short word which is that affinity we are young adults we are at a really peculiar stage in our life where we're all trying to figure it out but i want us all to remember that while we try to figure out we need to remind ourselves what you lovely people reminded us that our identity is in christ he knew us before we were born he knows us now and he knows us where we're going in the future so let's always just remember that thank you all for being such a warm saying that because i've been in it for a couple of years now and and what i've learned over is that just remain teachable for those who are looking towards marriage remain teachable at all times uh there are storms in life that will sway us here and there was longer stay content we stay humble we stay teachable and trusting god in the whole process and to find out that it will be easier with responsibility for it see what he's doing you're probably wondering how we got here right well it wasn't always this bad in fact it was great in the beginning i met emma senior of college it was love at first sight everything about her was perfect i was so sure she was the one it was really perfect in the beginning dark handsome and smart whenever i needed help with calculus he would always help me at times the sound of his voice actually made calculus fun for me ah he smelled so nice too nice that i'll get distracted we started dating towards the end of our senior year he was the first to get a great job out of college and he wanted me to move with him i knew her parents wouldn't let her move with me unless i did the needful everything felt right so i gathered all my savings and bought other but um sometimes we just have to try to get on the same page and you know to understand one another you see i don't think i'm that difficult to live with when we first started we're on the same page we used to just get along interesting so what was it like when you first started dating i mean we're in love so we never really talked about much you know all we talked about was just being together so it was never really much of talking about anything else we got along fine we're on the same page so this was never an issue okay emma your thoughts i mean he was right i was initially pastor of course i'm also a marriage counselor and all that and um today we're talking about relationships but as it regards to purpose you know purposeful relationships purposeful relationships i need to say guys that there's such there's such a a downturn there's such you know um negativity there's such bad you know report as regards relationships and marriages especially in these times that we're living it's so bad it's so so bad and i found out that the reason is not actually because marriage is bad there's nothing wrong with marriage marriage is actually beautiful marriage is like the the most beautiful thing god ever created as a matter of fact marriage is the first institution that god started himself you know so this shows that god loves marriage god believes marriage is good for man in fact the bible says it's not good for the man to be alone he said he that finds the wife finds a good thing he said marriage is honorable in all so marriage is beautiful marriage is good if marriage is so good so why is the experience so bad if marriage is so good why is experience so bad why is the experience so bad why are divorce rates high you know why is infidelity rate high why is you know um domestic abuse rates high you know why are people you know running away from marriage why are less and less people desire desire now to marry the answer is very simple and that's what we're going to try and look at today the answer is very simple and we're going to talk about it today glory to god so even if you're here you're very young you're never thinking of marriage yet or you're already old and you're not thinking of marriage what we're going to share will bless you glory to god in this two days i'm going to be sharing glory to god so marriage is a beautiful thing um god started marriage and whatever comes from god is good bob said every good a perfect gift comes from god who is the father of light say him there is no variableness no shadow of turn and it means god has not changed his mind marriage is still good marriage was the first institution god ever started this means god believes that marriage will save and salvage this world god believes that marriage is what impacts society the most if it was education that would change the world god would have made adam a principal a lawyer or a counselor that was the one that would have made that down but no he made that husband on the father if it was politics that would change this world god have made him a prime minister but no he made him a husband and a father if it was even churches that would change his world god would have made adam a pastor but no he made it to me husband and a father you know i'm a pastor so i felt no the church is why would change the world god said no the criteria to even be a good pastor is that you have a good home you must first have a good home before you can come and be a good pastor so it shows that god places a lot of premium on family life oh the whole covey situation showed us a lot of things he showed us that airlines can be shot he showed us that offices can be shot he showed us that businesses can be shot he showed us that churches can be shot there's only one institution that didn't get shot during the covet that's family family can never get shut down there's somebody getting what i'm saying and that is why i always lay emphasis on the family i believe in the family so much i believe in the family so much glory to god glory to god do you know that it's possible for god to have created people without families god could have continued creating because after god made adam he made eve from arib he would have continued making human beings from reap till now if he wanted to he would have continued even creating new human beings but you know what god set up his system where every human being comes through a family that's the original plan of god that's what god originally wanted that every human being comes through a family because god believes that the family can mold a person a family can mold a person so listen to me here if you're already mind you need to understand your marriage is a ministry if you're planning to get married you need to understand that your marriage is a ministry this is why there's nowhere in scripture god says you should love who you marry oh let me say it this way there's no way in scripture we're gonna say you should marry who you love radha but he says you love who you marry i don't regret what i'm saying it is a marry who you love he says you love who you marry there's a world of difference in the truth he's saying look because many many many young people focus so much on love why do you want to mind this person i love him i love her listen love is not the strongest thing that holds the marriage together love is not the strongest thing that holds a marriage together god never said look for who you love to marry there's no way in scripture says so it never says you know marry who you love no what it does say is to love who you marry there's a difference there's a difference an understanding that your marriage is a ministry will make you choose better many young people want to choose because of the feeling they have love is not a feeling they want to choose because how fine or pretty or handsome somebody is love is not attraction they want to choose because the other person will will help me financially you see love is not a loan or a loaning system or a borrowing system that's not what love it that's not what marriage is amen so god would rather you focus on real things not just on feelings on real things that will help both of you live together effectively than how you feel about each other because feelings are fake feelings never last oh man i don't know anybody that always feels like doing something listen let me even whisper something i don't tell anybody this between me are you i'm a pastor and sometimes i don't feel like going to church don't tell anybody hallelujah this is just my confession to you because i love your church sometimes as the pastor i don't feel like going to church i want to stay home on a sunday and watch netflix is somebody getting what i'm saying nobody feels like doing something all the time nobody feels like a husband all the time nobody feels like a wife all the time nobody feels good all the time that's why you don't build anything solid on feelings you don't build anything solid on feelings you build it on functionality oh i don't know if you got what i said i said you don't build anything solid on feelings you build it on functionality functionality we always outlast feelings oh i don't know if somebody's getting what i'm saying functionality will always outlast feelings long after your feelings are gone the functionality of that relationship of that marriage will still last glory to god feelings are fickle by design nobody's meant to feel a certain way all the time if somebody get what i'm saying but when there's functionality it will last a life a lot of what my mentor said one day he said it's easier to to feel easier to act your way into feeling than to feel your way into acting i get what i'm saying it's easier to act your way into feeling like doing something down to feel your way into doing the thing that sometimes you don't feel like but if you learn to do the actions you will feel like eventually feelings don't control us feelings are powerful but they never should control us they are never the determining factor for any decision we take as believers especially glory to god why am i saying all this i'm saying is to lay the foundation for you to understand that god would rather you focus on the functionality that misunderstand who are meant to be in life thank god this is a purpose conference understand who are meant to be in life understand the purpose of marriage understand the purpose of relationships and function in that area than to wait to feel who do i feel like what do i feel like doing listen if feeling always controls your decisions you will never be all god has called you to be our feelings are not always right oh your feelings are real i agree but they are not always right your feelings are real i agree but they don't last you need to understand the place of feelings feelings are great they are real i'm not saying your feelings are not real i'm just saying they are not always right you can feel like doing something stupid it doesn't mean you should do it you can feel like not doing something you should do it doesn't mean you should not do it that's what i'm trying to say hallelujah glory to god i hope somebody's getting blessed already all right so god is saying focus on functionality that i'm feeling so if you're going to marry you need to focus on what the purpose of marriage is you need to focus on what my purpose in life is those are more important questions now what is your shape those are more important questions hey you need to ask that lady where are you going not what are you wearing oh i don't know if i'm talking to somebody here oh why are doing the midnight chatting huh you need to ask where are you going in life not what are you wearing it doesn't matter what you're wearing to where you're going what matters is where you're going i don't know if somebody's getting what i'm saying you need to find out more important things than just having fun glory to god i said glory to god hallelujah all right so the reason why marriages are struggling so much is because we've prioritized we've prioritized the things that are minors let me say that we've majored on the minors uh you know and we have minored on the majors we have placed emphasis and priority on the things that don't count the looks the feelings you know public opinion instead of focusing on the purpose what is the purpose of me and you coming together what is the purpose of this friendship of this relationship of this partnership what is the purpose the purpose is superior to anything else what is the purpose why are we coming together glory to god why are we coming together what is the purpose of marriage what's the purpose of friendship what's the purpose of relationship what is the purpose why are we here what are we trying to achieve what are we trying to achieve glory to god if we focus on the functionality that marriage will work for focus on the functionality that relationship will work you focus on the functionality the whole thing we're trying to do will work not just on loved feelings this is how i feel amen so when god is saying but when i was saying there's nowhere they said you marry who you love it's because sometimes you don't just marry now feelings are good you need to like the person you want to marry i get that but i'm just trying to say look there are more important things that's why god didn't emphasize or focus on that the more important thing says but when you do marry that person it's important to now stay committed to that person because of the purpose of that thing all right it's like the way i said you know being a pastor i don't feel like i'm trying but the purpose behind my being a pastor drives me more than my feelings of being a pastor that's what i'm trying to say so the same way because this is why divorce rates are high somebody's mind as i don't love my spouse anymore listen to me it's not your feelings that count it's when you understand the purpose why god brought you and that person together when you understand the purpose why god created marriage when i turned the purpose why god gave you kids where's the purpose why god planted you in the city of atlanta when you do when you discover why god planted wherever you are in the world that should guide you the purpose should guide you and not the feelings feelings don't guide us why should i walk in love to my brothers and sisters because god said so not because i feel so why should i forgive the person that offends me because god says so not because i feel so somebody getting what i'm saying all right so you need to understand that there is a higher purpose to relationships than just how i feel glory to god there's a higher purpose to relationships than just how i feel i need to find out the purpose why god brought me and that person together the purpose why god planted you in this church the purpose where i got planted in that city the purpose where i got planted in that company where you walk the purpose why god set up that business in your hand you must find out the purpose that gives everything meaning that gives everything meaning hallelujah i'm going to move in now a bit into what i really want to share today so one of the reasons why why many relationships are not working is that we are looking for the things we ought to have before the relationship we're looking for them in the relationship let me explain many people are trying to get some things from a relationship that they were supposed to bring to the relationship oh i'm gonna repeat that again i said many people are looking for things in a relationship that they were supposed to bring to the relationship we are putting the card before the horse we are looking for a lot of things that we ought to in a relationship that we ought to have brought when we're coming minor was things that we should have gotten before the relationship so i'm going to list you some things that you ought to have before marriage or let me say this with some things that existed before marriage there are many things that existed for marriage no marriage fails inside the marriage every marriage begins to fail before the marriage every marriage begins to fail because of the quality of the individuals that were going into it that's where it starts to fail and that's what i want to focus on today what are the things that exist before a marriage what are the things there were things that god did before he created the first marriage in genesis chapter 2. there were things that existed before god created the first marriage in genesis chapter 2. you remember the first marriage in genesis chapter two he says and god the lord god formed him and put adam into his sleep deep sleep and he took the rib instead thereof from his flesh and closed it on him from that rib he made a woman and brought her onto adam and adam said this is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh you shall be called a woman he said therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and cleave onto his wife and the two of them shall be one flesh he said and therefore and that's why we said they were a buddha naked the man and his wife and they were not ashamed so in other words that was the first marriage going on there but there were things that existed before that marriage you can start talking about marriage from that point you must look at the things that existed before the marriage those are the things that made the marriage to be successful those are the things that can make the marriage work what are the things that existed for marriage i'm going to run through it quickly ah this is why purpose is important i'm going to run through the quick but if you don't find these things if you don't find what you ought to have before marriage you'll be looking for those things in marriage i'll repeat if you don't know the things you ought to have before marriage you will be looking for those things inside marriage and guess why you will be disappointed because your partner can't give you those things this is why marriages fail this is why we are disappointed in marriage because we came into the marriage expecting expecting something from the our partner expecting something from our friend expecting something from the mentor look all your disappointments in life is because you are looking at people to give you what know what only god can give you that's why you are disappointed that's how this appointment comes apart is based on the fact that you're expecting someone to give you what god only can give you it will always lead to disappointments look at proverbs chapter 27 and verse 7 you have to be fooled before you start look at it here is that the person who is full refuses honey i want to understand that he said the person i'm reading a nlt version he said the person who is full refuses honey he said but but even bitter food tastes sweet to the hungry look they're talking about two things a person that is full and the person that is hungry they are saying there's an attitude there's a behavior there's a lifestyle the difference between the person that is full and the person that is hungry they say when you are full you can even reject what other people call sweet because you are full but you see when you are hungry even something that is bitter will begin to look attractive to you something you have no business accepting something you have no business desire something you have no business wanting it can begin to look good to you if you are empty or hungry so you must come into the marriage full you must come into the relationship sin full you must come into the dating world fool you must even come into the church fool this is the best way to go anywhere full when we're young our parents always taught us that we're going for a party you better eat before you go say eat before you go to the party and for me it didn't make any sense why would i eat if i go to a party i'm supposed to go to a party hungry so that i can eat there he said my mom said the reason is because if you get there and the food doesn't get to you won't look dejected if you get it the food doesn't get you you'll look hungry if you get any food you'll stop begging because you are desperate to eat you say eat before you leave your house now that i'm old i understand the benefit of that advice when i was young it didn't make sense why would i eat before i go for a wedding my mum was saying it's better to be fooled when you go out to any party listen the world is like a party you better go to the world fool that way you'll be disappointed when people don't give you because you're already full whatever people should add to you should be extra it shouldn't be the thing sustaining you no human being has the capacity to sustain you whatever people are to you should be the extra not the main thing very very important it's a person who is full even refuses honey say but the person that is empty that is hungry every bitter food tastes sweet to him this is why people will stay in relationships that they are being hot they have been abused they have been maltreated they have been despised and they will stay there because they are empty that bitter thing they would like to stay with it than to learn to stay alone some people are so tired of their own company they desperately want to marry and they're going to be disappointed because no human being can feel that part of you if you don't feel it by yourself there's somebody getting what i'm saying tonight hallelujah things that existed before marriage listen it's okay to desire marriage but it's better to be prepared for it it's okay to desire friendship so i better be prepared for it it's okay to desire anything it's better to be prepared for it so there are things that existed there many of them are going to just stop at five or six depending on how much time i have all right i'm going to talk about a few things that existed before the first marriage i know you want to get married maybe you're even already married do you have these things if you don't have them find them now these are things that adam had these are things that existed before the first marriage marriage wasn't the first thing god gave adam it was the first institution god made yes but it wasn't the first thing god gave adam very important this is why we have so many troubled marriages we are looking into marriage to give us what only god can give to give us things we ought to have before we get married glory to god oh glory let's begin to look at it number one what did adam have before god gave him a wife what did adam have listen to me sister very much this man these are things you need to ask him dear brother before he might that woman these are things you need to ask her number one adam had a strong sense of identity number one adam had a strong sense of identity let's go to genesis chapter 1 verse 26 and 27 genesis chapter 1 verse 27 7. it's under god and god said let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every cattle and over the earth and every crippling pokemon here next verse 27 it says so god created man in his own image in the image of god created in him male and female created he them hallelujah so adam had a sense of identity he knew who he was adam knew who he was adam had a strong sense of identity adam could introduce himself if need be adam's identity was god he said i'm a child of god listen that's the biggest identity you can have the world is suffering from an identity crisis today because people don't know who they are when they ask you who you are don't say i'm a doctor a dog a doctor is what you do not who you are don't say i'm an engineer that is what you do that's not who you are don't say i'm an uber driver that is who you that's that's what you do that's not who you are the reason why many people carry themselves the wrong way is that they're looking at themselves based on what they do what you're doing is not who you are you who you are is somebody created in the image and likes of god meaning you are god's child son of god means from god or like god that's what it means to be a son of god whatever your son hallelujah all right because son is not gender-based there he's talk so you are literally like god god looked at you and said you are in my image after my likeness that is who you are this is the first time they were describing mankind there was no doctor at this point there was no lawyer at this point there was no citizen of america citizen of nigeria at this point you were just from god like god that is your biggest identity you need to realize that oh it's not what you do it's not who you are married to it's not where you live that defines you oh man you need to understand this your identity is like god your identity is like god that's your biggest that's your biggest introduction that that was jesus also biggest introduction and that was why satan's temptation to jesus started from identity satan's temptation to adam and eve was also by identity satan's temptation to jesus the moment satan can tweak or to act or change your sense of identity you behave below your capacity you behave below who you should be that's all that is to happen watch certain battles is how people see themselves listen when you see somebody that for instance is a prostitute i'm not talking about somebody that is committing sin and shy i mean somebody that is bold to say oh this is who i am oh and and that changed something that is demeaning about themselves boldly listen satan has done something to their sense of identity as a human being there are certain things you must not be proud of even if you are caught in it you shouldn't be proud of it but when you see people now being proud of living a life below god's best satan has attacked the identity that is his biggest trick if he can affect your sense of identity he can affect your behavior is somebody getting what i'm saying that's why that's what he did to jesus he said if you be the son of god that's the highest rank i mean it didn't say if you be an israelite it isn't if you be a jew it is if you be a nazarite it is if you be a prophet it is if you be a pastor he said if you be a son of god that's your biggest rank and you see the beautiful thing about it is that all of us that are believers are sons of god you can be a medicator you're not hired at me i'm also a son of god you can be a lawyer or a judge you're not heard i mean i'm a son of god no human being is superior to that human being under god the moment you shift to saying i'm a doctor a bigger doctor can be higher than you your lecturing school will be higher than you a bigger surgeon behind but if you are a son of god no body is superior to you we are all sons of god is somebody getting what i'm saying that's your biggest rank that's your biggest sense of identity that's why satan attacked it with jesus he said if you be the son of god tustin to bread and jesus knew now jesus could constantly bread i hope we all know that he even multiplied five thousand lives when he had to feed people so turning stone to bread was not an issue but you see the problem is that if you make a mistake of trying to prove that you are who you are that journey never ends because you know what will happen if you just stone stone to bread sometimes i said well that one is easy now tom bread back to stone let's see say now now now that i have never do they will keep pushing you jesus said there's no need to even start the conversation it doesn't matter what you think it doesn't matter what you believe i am who god says i am it's only god's opinion that counts not your opinion listen to me child of god when you have a strong sense of identity people's opinion will not move you anymore many people are in trouble today because they are bothered about what people think about them oh may god set us free today let's begin to depend on god for our identity know what people are saying it doesn't matter how many people like you it doesn't matter how people that hate you it doesn't matter what people think about you what matters what god thinks about you the bible says when the man's way pleases the lord he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him if god is happy with you it doesn't matter they will come around to appreciate you if god is happy with you people will come around to appreciate you hallelujah this is why i don't i don't feed so much on compliments because if you feed them compliments then criticism too we will hurt you so you need to know i love people to compliment yes but you said i take it very lightly i don't take it too seriously the only compliment that counts is god's own it's only when god said this is my beloved son in human right please that's what i want to hear you see your own can change if i if i feed on your compliment the day you are not happy with me then my my my sense of identity would drop i can never forget many years ago many many many years ago by the way this september 2021 maybe 25 years i started ministry 25 years we started a ministry september 1st 1996. so this year it makes it 25 years so i can never forget when i was a young pastor i was a young very young pastor you know but i was a bit popular in my neighborhood at the time so a friend of mine wanted us to go to a local restaurant for those that are nigerians yeah he's always called mama put because his mom had put it i don't know if he's making sense to you they call him mama puts all the small places that are zinc and all that all that you know very shanty looking thing like this but the food is really sweet man the pepper stew ah you know so we're supposed to go there to eat so i usually go with him there to eat but after a while because i was getting popular in the neighborhood um you know whenever i go there people want to greet me people want to pay for my food people want to you know come and sit with me and stuff like that so i was no longer enjoying you know my privacy in terms of eating so one of the days he wanted us to go there and i said you know what i really can't go to this place i'm not going to i'm not going to be comfortable is there a way to buy the food and send it to me and he was upset he was like who do you think you are he's like what do you think you are why do you think i said look it's not really because i mean but i was just not enjoying my food because people were staring at me the guy was he couldn't take it he was so upset he said who do you think you are he and he got so heated he got to a point he said he's never going to call me pastor anymore he's just going to call my name kingsley you see if i was somebody that was depending on that title to have a good self-esteem people can see if people build your services they can take it from you oh i don't know if someone's getting what i'm saying if if the medical association gives you that name doctor it means they can also take it when they want to you need to understand your identity must never come from anything men can take that's why men should never be the one to give it to you no matter what you do i'm still a child of god i'm a son of god my sense of identity can never shake you you know who you are because of who you marry it's not the mises or the mister that makes you who you are your sense of identity needs to be strong that's what adam had adam knew in whose image he was made like god like god hallelujah like god glory to god glory to god that's why i like the name michael most times mike i means a man like god i like that name and you notice most people are better name are successful they are bigger i know there's the moses of michael in your church i like that name michael it means like god the strongest angel the war angel is michael angel michael most bikers are successful that's why those of you in america would know michael jordan michael tyson michael jackson michael phelps so the michaels are just the record-breakers because that name has some grace on it is somebody getting what i'm saying but that's just that's not part of the message but the point is that you must have a sense of identity adam knew who he was that's the biggest temptation that any believer will face if you be the son of god you will never commit this sin if you be the son of god you will make this mistake if you be the son of god you will never say this thing listen it's not the actions that make me who i am i am who i am because god says so hallelujah it doesn't matter what you think my density comes from god glory to god i said glory to god hmm when you have that strong sense of identity you'll be moved by what others are doing you say everybody's doing it doesn't matter what they're doing i'm not everybody see everybody now has a girlfriend i'm not everybody everybody's drinking alcohol i'm not everybody everybody's smoking weed i'm not everybody i'm a child of the living god that's the strongest title you can ever have bigger than your doctorate bigger than your professor bigger than bigger than any title you can be arch bishop if you trust me being a son of god is higher than that glory to god come and say with me i'm a child of god oh no no say with confidence i'm a child of god hallelujah whatever you're watching whether online or on-site sell me child of god glory to god that's your sense of identity you must enter every relationship with that sense of identity so that people will not be able to take away who you are imagine that guy said he won't call me a pastor anymore imagine if i was building my identity on that hallelujah i love when people compliment me but i don't build my life around your compliment because the day you take it from me somebody that loves what you said today can hate what you say tomorrow it happened to jesus a lot of times the people that were saying oh you are the messiah you are the king and all that that is simple i said crucify him glory to god thank god he had a sense of identity number two second thing that god gave adam before he gave him marriage there was productivity productivity the first one is identity second one is productivity genesis chapter 2 and verse 15. genesis 2 and verse 15 is and the lord god took the man and put him into the garden of eden to dress it and to keep it hallelujah to address it and to keep it every human being is born to contribute listen to me child of god there's a difference between work and a job a job is what somebody gives you work is what you are born to do listen to me every child of god was created and born to add value to this life this is why it's possible to be jobless but you can never be workless [Laughter] i don't know if that's making sense to you a job is what somebody else gives you but work work is productivity adding value you were created and structured to add value nobody can take that from you nobody can take that from you even if you're homeless there's something you can do for somebody you can add value to this earth that's why god created us that's the main main main reason why we're here on the earth it's not for a job i get what i'm saying you you do a job for a living but you do work for purpose all right for a calling there's a calling upon your life there's something you are able to do everybody can be productive everybody can be productive you can even start from the church where you are what does this church need that you can contribute what does the church you are in those things you are complaining about your church might be what you're called to fix i get what i'm saying what can you do how can you even be attending just like you're not even the workforce you're not in any units you don't you're not contributing anything how can how can somebody getting what i'm saying adam had a job before he had a wife now whether you're a woman this applies to you you you must have something you're doing you're not hoping to marry your way out of poverty no no no no i meet young girls i don't know if that happens in america but where where i'm based here in nigeria they love young girls that have those mindsets that oh i can't marry i can't marry a man that is not rich this is this is you assuming that if he's rich he's going to share his money with you this is you assuming he's going to be generous there are many people that are not generous i know many people might reach people but they are simple because the mind is not sharing his wealth the woman is not sharing her wealth it's an assumption all that energy you want to use to marry a rich man just use that energy to be rich yourself hallelujah any gender can be reached i've preached from madame following before i ministered at one of our meetings you know she just turned 70 a few months ago you know and she's the richest black woman only second richest black man in the world rich as black female african what billions of dollars imagine she was waiting for a man there's so many women watching me you have the capacity to to to to be politicians to be entrepreneurs to be business owners to be top people in your corporation but you are you are letting a man you know steal that capacity from you listen every human being is created reproductive god gave adam productivity what do you have in your hand how are you i mean who will miss you if you die today what will miss you if you die today what are the things you were created to give this earth oh the late miles moro said the richest place in this world is not the gold mines or the oil fields that are the diamond mines the richest place in this earth is the graveyard he said that's where books that were never written are buried that's where dreams that were never pursued are buried that's where speakers that never spoke are buried that's why ministries that would have never started a buried that the richest place on this earth is the graveyard because too many people are dying with the gifts that they have make yourself a promise that you will die empty that all the dreams you have you will pursue them all the organizations inside you pursue them the gifts you have you will use them the world needs you those things that you have that you think is not a value somebody is dying for that value somebody's going to gladly pay you for that value find your purpose there's something you can do there's somebody you can help there's something that comes to you naturally oh i love purpose i love purpose i say it all the time that men of purpose get paid twice they get paid with cash like every other person but they also get paid with fulfillment so they end twice they get paid to fulfillment oh there's nothing like fulfillment in his life there's a part of you that nothing else can feel except when you are functioning in the god ordained position you were created to function nothing takes that place this is why you can be rich and still feel empty this is what i'm able to have money and they feel empty billion millionaires and billionaires here in america are committing suicide every day this is why because you can be rich and still be empty because it's a part of your life that money cannot feel only purpose can feel it only when you're functioning your god-given abilities that can feel it it's called fulfillment you're just what i'm saying this is why you can be rich and feel empty but you can never be in purpose and feel empty i'll say that again you can be rich and feel very empty and tired of life but you can never be walking in purpose and still feel empty it's not possible when you're walking in purpose you feel full that's why it's called for full of feel fulfillment for fulfillment sorry fulfillment you have football field you are filled fulfillment that's what i like to call it i practice as a fulfillment you are full i feel it at the same time all right that's what it's talking about so so when you when you walk in purpose you're fulfilled fulfilled field full field but when you just have money look there's a lot of things i can do to earn money i can sell shoes to earn money but i'll just one of the most miserable shoe sellers you've ever met i'll have money but i'll be empty but when you're working in purpose you will still have money but you'll be full fulfillment productivity okay you must have a job god gave adam a work before he gave me a wife number three number three things that existed before marriage creativity creativity i've mentioned identity i've mentioned productivity third one is creativity let's look at it here genesis chapter 2 and verse 19 it says and out of the ground the lord god formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air and brought them on to adam to see what he would call them god could have named them but instead he brought them to adam to see what he would call them he said whatsoever adam called every living creature that was the name thereof creativity you know why god brought them to adam is because he knew that there's a part of adam that can create and he wanted them to exhibit that creativity oh i get what i'm saying he wanted adam to create to do something because the first if we are made after the image and the likeness of god guess what's the first characteristic of god mentioned in scripture it's his creative ability he said in the beginning god created hallelujah that's the first thing they mentioned about god and if we're supposed to be like him that means we also have creative ability thank god for where science have gone can't go for see god didn't make any chairs he just made trees it was human being that made chairs god didn't make phones he didn't make he didn't make all these things we have today he didn't even make orange juice he just made oranges his man see there is a creative ability inside man that's why this world keep moving forward now we have people are going to space they're buying airline etiquette to space they will used to buy a light ticket to miami or to florida people are now buying etiquette to space i'm not going to join them anyway okay i ain't doing that i'm still trying to cover the earth you go and tell me how it is i ain't going to space what if we get there and the engine is not starting angry [Laughter] glory to god but creativity there is something inside you that wants to create i mean where where are you going to leave your name in the sons of time that they will see there was once this man there was once this woman there was once this product creativity he said he wanted to see what adam would call them and adam began to name all those animals it was adam that named the lion lion was adam the name the tiger tiger salam that named the elephant elephant god could have named them because look you two have creative ability i want you to contribute to the earth creativity oh there's something you can create there's something this world is waiting for and you are the one that we created it can be in i.t it can be it can be in food business it can be in whatever industry there's something you can create i know covey took away a lot of jobs but guess what coffee doesn't brought a lot of jobs creativity is what will help you find it number four number four very important capacity and integrity capacity and integrity capacity and integrity genesis chapter 2 verse 16 and 17. genesis 2 16 17 he said and the lord god commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat next verse but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shall not eat of it for in the day thou it is thereof thou shall show that so god gave adam instructions here and adam kept those instructions till it was mine we don't know how many years that was we don't even know how many years of marriage they were before you know um they ate the fruit in other words when he was single he was able to keep the instructions that's what i'm trying to say the point is that look what is your obedience capacity now you want to get married but how how well are you doing with living a single life now this is the quality of single you are determining the quality of marriage you will be a lizard that is single will not become an alligator in marriage what quality of person are you the the is the quality of the eggs that determine the quality of the homeless if somebody get what i'm saying what quality of single are you do you know every instruction we are asked to carry out in marriage we also ask to carry out our singles so your life as a single is where you practice the principles that you practice in marriage is your life as a single that you use to practice it every instruction we are asked to do as singles is same thing we have to do marriage as a believer you are asked to work in love you don't start learning how to walk in love the god kind of love in marriage that's too late you learn when you're single you learn how to forgive you learn how to forgive people offend you do you forgive them if you don't forgive people now that you're single you won't forgive when you're married the same thing you'll learn how to serve this is why i could never have loved someone that wasn't serving in a unity in church i mean as a christian i would never fall in love with you i would never mind somebody like that because marriage is service and you practice service when you're single that's what you do you practice service when you are single if you can serve people that you don't know that is easier to serve somebody that you know oh i'm going to say that again if you can serve people you don't know people that will never compliment you people that will never appreciate you it's easier to serve somebody that you know as somebody that you claim to love and somebody that will appreciate you and compliment you are you getting what i'm saying this is why i could never have loved somebody like that you must serve if you're in a church now practice how to serve be part of the community in your church that's how you prove that you're going to be able to be a good husband a good wife a good father good mother i tell them all the time when you join like an austrian unit you know in church when you're in usher you are learning how to serve you know you're standing and people are coming and you're directing them you've taught you how to smile you just might direct them this way you know you always have the smoother when they enter you point this way they will go that way they always go opposite of whatever their should i say as an action you learn how to continue smiling and how not to hold it to heart you are practicing marriage because marriage that will happen a lot where things things won't go your way what's the attitude do we use to handle it you practice that as inertia did somebody get around saying you practice in us just pointing away can never forget the story one man called this pastor he's a pastor my marriage is over i don't love my wife anymore the person said my brother the bible says husbands love your wife. he said she's not my wife she has been staying in the next room for months now would ever see each other the person said brother the bible said love your neighbor he said she's not my neighbor she has been insulting me and spreading negative stories about me we quarrel all the time she's my enemy the person said brother the bible said love your enemy hallelujah it's about what i'm saying so no matter who you are no matter who you are practice now creativity capacity with integrity capacity within triggers is now you will practice integrity by having friendships without compromise having friendships is not every friend you must date adam was able to identify each animal and he knew what they were as they entered his life said he's a lion it's not my wife this elephant not my girlfriend this tiger you mustn't date everybody that enters your life this is what young people don't have today they don't know how to have friendship without compromise anybody that is their friend they are thinking of kissing thinking of smooshing it's not everybody you must have something with are you here somebody you should be able to be friends without compromise we must not kiss we can be real friends brother and sister and the lord i'm telling you if you can't keep yourself now that you're single you won't be able to keep yourself on your mind you see you don't marry doesn't change you marriage only multiplies who you already are marriage doesn't change so i'll be committed i'll be serious when i marry hahaha that's a big joke be serious now check your capacity now don't marry anyone without anybody dragging you to a life of sin anybody lying for you will lie to you that's how it works all adulterers will first fornicate us i see people the average person hates adultery but he's okay with fornication what they don't realize is that the same for the catered battle with adultery same thing hallelujah last one and i'll close for today hallelujah spiritual intimacy the fifth one spiritual intimacy existed before marriage genesis chapter 3 verse 8 and 9. genesis 3 8 and 9. he said and they heard the voice of the lord god walking in the garden in the cool of the day and adam and his wife hid themselves in the presence of the lord amongst the trees of the god the next verse and the lord called on to adam and said adam we are down and if you look at the next verses adam began to answer in other words adam had spiritual intimacy with god god comes in the cool of the day to talk to him and this way i'm going to end for today it's important for you to develop spiritual intimacy with god oh this world is folding up this world is collapsing if your faith was in any part of this world just forget it all of us always have a copy to end up discovering new variants this world is folding up nothing good is going to come out of this world anymore if this world was okay the only need for heaven this world is already crushing from the dead i'm sinned this world has been on the death path everything is dying this is why your hope must be in god if not you will always be stuck with anxiety this is why you must put your focus on god this is why you must build your faith in god this is why you must build a relationship with god god is the only comfort we have in this life not the army not the government not your friend not your brother not your sister not even your spouse marriage is fair because we are putting on due pressure on our partners to bring all our undermining our needs no no human being can meet you or need you you want me to is in need there's only one person that's called the el shaddai the double-breasted god the one that can always supply he said god is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you can ask or even imagine only god can be all things to you that's why he calls himself i am that i am i can be anything you need me to be if you need a doctor i am if you need a lawyer i am if you need an engineer i am i am anything that you will ever need so put your focus on god don't put your focus on any government don't book and focus on any system put your focus on god it's the only way anxiety will not crush you in spiritual intimacy what is god telling you want to marry some people ask me all the time pastor two men are proposing to me john and james which one should i marry i said i can never know i don't even know who you are how can i know who john is and who james is but there's somebody that knows his name is god the time you're using to look for a man of god to pray for you can use that time to look for the god of the man oh i don't know if you heard what i said i said the time i used to look for a man of god is the baby you can use that time to look for the god of the man the distance to the god of the man is closer than the distance of the man of god oh i don't know if somebody's getting what i'm saying i said the distance to the god of the man is closer than the distance to the man of god so you know god you need to know god for yourself many people stay married because somebody prophesied it ah the source of a thing would be the sustenance of that thing if you mention marriage because of prophecy you need prophecy to sustain it you better hear god for yourself nobody's conviction can be strong enough for you to run a race of life you need your own conviction because there'll be times you'll be tired there will be times it doesn't look like it there'll be times it doesn't look like it's going to work it's your conviction the word you received from god is what will keep you not a word from any man hallelujah spiritual intimacy adam heart spiritual intimacy glory to god oh i'm so excited i'm so excited you need to love your single life so much that anybody coming to marry you will just be an addition now that you're trying to put your whole life on that person glory to god can you lift your hand wherever you are this but a beautiful day and thank the lord for this first session lord we give you praise lord we give you glory i pray for everyone that is sound of my voice today i pray that we will find you we'll world but the spirit that is of god that we may know the things which have been fully given to us by god which thinks we speak not with the wisdom of the world but with the wisdom of god father tonight i release that grace upon your people even to receive that wisdom even to receive that revelation even to receive that insight so that they can speak according to the wisdom of god in the name of jesus christ we thank you heavenly father because that which you have started to do tonight you will continue and you will perfect in our lives in jesus much less than we pray and let the people of so he releases the blessing where people are united in genesis chapter 11. he said these people have decided to do this one thing nothing will stop them so even god has to endorse what man is going to do on earth so i want to encourage you in a meeting like that god releases an anointing he releases an anointing releases a grace and you know angelic visitations and one of the prayers i've been praying that angels will come around they'll just be distributing gifts with distributing gifts to you you walk out of this place there's a glow all over your life others are saying people are seeing you in ways that they never saw you before somebody say amen so i want to encourage you 10 a.m kingsley will be ministering and dr john uber will be here you know he will also participate and we'll
