we are so glad you decided to worship we're here today and today is anointing service and it's going to be a great time in the presence of god wherever you are if you're right here in the sanctuary if you're on your way we can't wait to see you we can't wait to worship and fellowship with you because we trust god to do amazing things in our midst today and the quick reminder this morning afg is we ask that you will have absolute control we commit everyone oh god that's going to be a part of this service goes on their way those here already we ask pray lord god of heaven that you're going to touch each and every one of us and meet every one of us at the point of it in jesus precious name we pray have a wonderful service let's just rise on our feet those in the church the congregation him he's our god is our king he's the lord most high is the mighty god is the lord of hosts he is the king of glory the king of kings is the anointed one he's our god he rules from everlasting to everlasting there is none that can be compared unto him his glories from everlasting to everlasting let's bless his name this morning worship this god give him glory exalt and most i god bless his name is the beauty of holiness father we bless your name this morning we give you praise we exalt your god that is not like our god we magnify you we give you praise he's the only one is the anointed one is the most high nothing that is impossible for our god to do that just begin to give him praise the first wave came he kept you alive second came the third is waving even with his fourth or fifth the lord keeps you why not begin to exalt the law give him glory the god that defends the bible says he that dwells in the sacred place of the monster we are the ones that we abide under his shadow when we serve the lord is our lord and our refuge our god in name will be trust let's begin to magnify this god lord we bless your name this morning we give you all the glory bless the blessed be the name of the lord but in jesus mighty name we have worshipped pregnant this morning you're still going to lift up your voice to give him glory you're going to give him thanks the bible says i will entice get with thanksgiving and it's caught with praise it is the only court where you enter the front of the judge with praise instead of your argument this morning you just give him praise like never before you will thank him for keeping you alive and your household for providing for you for making you strong the bible says a thousand me for by your side ten thousand at your right hand but i shall not come near you the lord has made it that you with your hand shall only sin the word of the wicked begin to give him glory begin to thank him the bible says oh let the people praise the lord oh let all the people praise the lord he says then our god will bless us he says our god will bless us even the ends of the heads with your hand when you bless the lord the heads yield this increase father we bless your name this morning we thank you for your goodness we thank you for your mercies we thank you for your grace we thank you for your blessings oh god don't make a treat and add no sorrow we thank you oh god because you're our defender you guide our greatness and our community you keep us all god from heaven we give you praise the bible says for you we give your angels charge name we have given praise brethren this morning you're going to ask of the lord father beset me visit me in acts chapter 4 verse 33 the bible says where they witnessed since because they were there was great power among the apostles they were witnessing jesus the resurrection crashed they were they were witnessing him and the bible says there was great grace upon them you say father as i come and as you visit me let there be great grace released upon us great grace the bible says it is not of works but of grace it's at least no man should boast you are standing here it is not because of your face max or your vaccine it is not because of anything so many had gone without even the covet but the lord has kept here the lord has sustained you you are going to ask of the lord you say father great graciously release upon us this morning but that we lift up our voices oh god and we ask oh god as you did it oh god in time past the bible says for you are god they are the same yesterday and today and forever the same god oh god visit us this morning we ask for great grace to be released upon us great grace oh god it is not of works or god it is of grace the bible says of your word comfort the bible says the entrance of israel bringing light and began to understanding even to the temple you will tell the lord father send your word to me send your word as he says his my steps by your word he says and let not in agree to have dominion over me give me verse 32 132-133 says look upon me and be merciful unto me as your custom the bible says he has a costume to those towards those who love his name a custom it is custom for those of you that understand culture and stick strictly to those cultures our god has a custom to us those that are loving he says if we look upon us with mercy and when he does that verse 123 says if we direct our steps by his word if we direct our steps you tell the lord father this week be merciful to me and direct my steps by your word direct my step father you have a question oh god accustomed to those that love you to those that fear you oh god the bible says that your secret act with those that fear you lord you have accustomed to those that love you you visit us with mercy you look upon us with mercy lord it is not by power not by might but by my spirit sees the lord of hosts you are forever faithful the bible says oh god that you cannot deny yourself for you we ever remain fit for even when we are faithful this morning lord we ask look upon us oh god with mercy direct our steps by your word let your word be our what word the psalmist says your word have i eaten in my heart i might not sin against you let your word keep us from going astray this week let your word keep us oh god from going oh god into danger this week help us and let your name be glorified begin to tell the lord lord as you anoint us today father let your spirit come upon me mightily let your spirit come upon me mightily the bible says in first time 16 that asked someone anointed david he says and the spirit of the lord rested upon him going forward you tell the lord's father as i receive your anointing this morning as i be anointed the month of august which is the eighth month of 2021 i don't know about you guys but this year is slowly going by we only have four months to go we'd like to welcome our mothers our fathers our brothers our sisters everybody to city of david and for those that are watching online we welcome you this is a church whereby we raise leaders to impact our generation we are disciples of jesus christ and our mission is to be god's mouthpiece his foot his eyes so that we can go out there and proclaim the mystery of jesus christ the announcements um we're going to be having a woman's program [Music] so i'm just going to quickly read a quick two important announcements and then we go to uh our recorded announcement so we're back to school as you know for the parents in the house with school-age kids we know for the last 18 months we've had to train our kids virtually so we're having a back to school program it's a zoom event whereby on the um 12th of august between 8pm and 9pm we're going to be having our guest speakers to come and speak to our parents we're having doctor chidi wakaru from the gwinnett county public school and dr yemi dary with the clayton county public school to come and prepare family for the upcoming school year it's been a challenge and will encourage you to please log into the zoom information we provided online and we'll encourage you to do that because again we need to get our kids ready for this new school year we also have another program that has been put together by the redeemers leadership institute of city of david again it's her two online training sessions the first one will be on august 15th and it's regarding leadership and authority in the church as we said we are raising leaders in this church and it's imperative that we are equipped with the right tools to help us to lead this is a paid event at 60 dollars and we'll encourage you to please pay for this even though it's a church event we'll still encourage you because for those that are in offices running your own business you always pay for cpe um so we'll encourage you to please um commit to this training session and pay for and then the other one is money matters again god has given us inside god says that he would um he's given us the power to make wealth but we also need to be equipped with the tools that we need to be able to um keep the money and the resources that god has entrusted in us so on august 29th it's a sunday we're also having a session called money matters in ministry another paid event sixty dollars and we'll encourage you to dial want to make it trend you know the meaning of trend just make it trend if you don't know what the meaning is ask the person next to you what does it mean so bring out your phones let's do that very quickly if you can do that now let's let's make it trend across uh globally i know choir you don't have your phones when you get back to your seat after the message that you bring out your phones okay global i told you guys here that there was a guy who came one day to one of our services i saw him i was so excited he was dancing when we were five years old after the service we got to speak with him and he said he he came from russia and he used to watch our services in russia so he was so excited to be in this assembly that day so just so that you know that people are watching us in places where you don't know that's why when you come try and smile huh you know no matter what happens just put a smile on your face you never know who's watching hallelujah so the month of august will take um towards the end of the month we're going to fast for at least 10 days prior preparation for uh afg okay and then house to house is back please um particularly want to use the house to house to pray and prepare for afg what jesus christ used to do in those days the bible said that before he went into his city sometimes he would send his disciples his apostles ahead of that city to go and publicize you know so they will spend time evangelizing praying and talking with people so that by the time he comes there's already a buzz in the city and people who do crusades before mighty crusades are held you know there's a an advanced team that just spent time praying and watering and preparing the place so i would like us to pray properly and prepare because god the hand that moves the hand that rules the world is the hand of prayer prayer is what moves the hand that rules the world so i'd like us to really spend time if you don't mind i think we should just take a prayer point right now let's just take a prayer point for afg is that okay yeah have you done have you finished your trending rtb have you finished your trending where's pastor tooby actually yeah have you finished your training good those are my disciples social media disciples okay let's stand up and take a prayer for let us pray for afg that god will prepare the hearts of men and women so it's a two prayer point in one so i'd like you to pray as i give it to you that god will prepare the hearts of men and women and number two that god will open the heavens and bless us indeed amen go ahead and begin to pray father we ask you september 5 to september 12th that lord you prepare the hearts of men and women you prepare my heart to prepare the hearts of my brethren within atlanta outside atlanta globally oh god we ask you the lord there will be a work a supernatural world preparing our hearts to receive preparing our hearts oh god to be tuned with it to be aligned with the spirit of god so that there will be a working that you will accomplish we pray today our father and our god that you will open the heavens to god and that you will do a mighty work you will do in my work you'll do a mighty work in those days we ask you heavenly father that you open the heavens you open the heavens you open the heavens oh god almighty pour out your spirit like never before pour out your grace like never before put out your anointing like never before pour out your miracles like never before pour out your power like never before heavenly father we ask you oh god or marry that you will do a work we ask you that you will do a work we ask you that you will do a work lord we pray today let the heavens be opened let your kingdom come let your will be done amongst us here on earth as it is in heaven father that you will do a mighty work we trust you we know you can do we know you want to do we are making ourselves or putting ourselves in readiness for that work lord do it let your name be glorified mary god you are able to do exceeding abundantly and so father we pray let it so be done oh god let your name alone be exalted we thank you heavenly father for in jesus mighty name we pray thank you for the gift of the holy spirit we thank you father for your mercies we thank you for your anointing we thank you for your power well thank you for your wonders blessed be your name or god this morning will lift you up again breathe over also god breathe of ours unto us guilt in jesus name we pray amen hallelujah this morning we will be anointing everybody if you want to be anointed thank you for coming we turn our bibles to the book of isaiah chapter 10 verse 24 to 27 isaiah chapter 10 verse 24 to 27. so this is what the lord the lord of heavens army says all my people who dwell in zion do not be afraid of the assyrians when they oppress you with the road and club as egyptians did long ago in a little while my anger against you will end and then my anger will rise up to destroy them i think somebody should say amen there is that the lord of heaven's armies will lash them with his whip as he did when gideon triumphed over the medianites at the rock of horeb or when the lured staff was raised to drown the egyptians army in the sea it shall come to pass in that day it shall come to pass in that day that the burden shall be lifted from off your shoulders and his yoke from your neck and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing it shall come to pass in that day that the burden shall be lifted from of your shoulder and the yoke from around your neck for the yoke shall be destroyed because of what because of the anointing now many times we quote that passage and i used to i mean i've quoted it for donkey years until not too long ago i was studying it in his context and i realized that god was referring specifically to a group of people many times we quote it generally we go through a deliverance service we go through administration service and we just quote it it shall come to pass in that day the body shall be later from where his shoulders and the yoga shall be destroyed no no no no no no no we'll quote it but when i studied it i realized that within the context of its declaration within the context in which god articulated that word he was referring specifically to a particular enemy an enemy that was that was more so much like a um like a lifetime enemy of the children of israel and he was talking about the assyrians specifically there are syrians where the enemies of israel the assyrians were a brutal nation the syrians were a wicked nation their syrians were so brutal that when they invaded a nation they did not just they did not just um take over the nation but they behaved like boko haram they behaved like isis they were the isis before i see they were the al-qaeda before al-qaeda they will kill they will slaughter women pregnant women they will rip open their their abdomen bring out the baby kill mother and child they were brutal they they were they would they would castrate men they will take away their manhood and then chain them in monocles and take them to their nations so when you understand how we kept the assyrians where how barbaric the way you will understand why when god sent jonah to go and preach to the assyrians jonah ran away because he hated he said he couldn't imagine these people who have done so much damage to his nation he couldn't imagine how god will forgive them and all of them would not become children of god and be singing praises jonah just couldn't manage my it so when god told him to go to nineveh what did jonah do he went to tashi she ran away because he hated them with a passion and he realized that even after he had been swallowed by the fish and now thrown out and he went and preached when the people repented and god suspended his anger jonah got angry he got angry that his ministry was successful he got angry that his evangelistic efforts was productive he got angry and god had to tell him he said listen junior i am the god who loves the sinner and loves the righteous alike so god here was telling the children of jesus as much as there are enemies to you that you don't worry a day will come look at somebody and say that day will come that day will come he said the day will come he said when the burden of the assyrians will be lifted from off your shoulders the day will come when the yolk of the assyrians will be broken from around your neck and he said this which is interesting you see the way god does these things and that's why we must learn to walk with god we must learn to key in to the methodologies of god because god is not a man the method god uses are different from the method menus god says that that day will come and it will not be because of your strength and your armies he said that day will come when i will lift up the burdens when i will destroy the yoke by what by the anointing glory to god one translation specifically says by the anointing all he said that day will come now i want you to look at this in the light of your life your situation and your experience because the bible says he said when you seek the lord you will find him a man when you knock on his door it will be open to you he said when you you you call upon him he said call upon me and i will hear and i will answer and i will show you great almighty things that you do not know somebody said lord show me god will show you god god responds to our our our um our desires he responds to our solicitation he responds to our supplication he responds to our intercession god responds the bible said that his ears are not deaf so god will respond to you in jesus name now but you have to decide when you want the intervention of god in your life you have to decide because you can decide that one i want god to intercede for me intervene in my life but let it be done somewhere in the future god will wait and do it for you somewhere in the future but if you want it now the bible says that now faith is your faith must be applicable when now your desires as they come to god your expectations will be applicable when open your mouth and say something to me when should it be applicable now when the woman with the issue of blood came to jesus 12 years of humor rising 12 years of losing her identity 12 years of losing her resources her worth 12 years of relating and dealing with all kinds of doctors native doctors quack doctors false doctors spiritual doctors 12 years the bible says over and over and over she said to herself if only i can touch the helm of his garment not if i touch the helm of his government somewhere in the future something will happen to me if only i can touch the head of his garment i know i will be made whole the lord is closer to you than a brother he is there right now to do something new and relevant and practical and specific in your life so yes you seek him yes you are aspiring for a miracle but i want you to be confident now be confident that now now god is able to do exceeding abundantly far over and above all that you can think imagine or ask now we have a bad devil who comes to steal to kill and to destroy so when when the prophet isaiah was talking about the assyrians there's a sense in which you could liken him to the work of the devil when the assyrians came they plundered they stole they destroyed the ravage and they did what they did they killed when the devil comes john 10 10 it says the thief comes only to do what to steal to kill and to destroy there's nothing good about the devil nothing when it gives you this apple they are full of worms if it gives you a bread there's a snake somewhere inside they give you give you cookies the cookies are full of full of mites there's nothing good about the devil so anytime the devil comes into your life he comes to plunder he comes to ravage he comes to destroy he comes to steal never you do business with the devil never you do business with the devil oh the saying is true or the saying has been there that when you eat with the devil you eat with what kind of fork with a long fork or a long spoon but you know the devil does not obey the geneva loss of a war convention geneva convention of what he does not he will break the spoon and still kill you so he comes to steal to kill and to destroy but the bible says he said how god anointed jesus christ with the holy ghost and with power acts chapter 10 verse 38 how god anointed jesus christ with the holy ghost and with power and he went about doing good and doing what and healing all those who were oppressed by the devil the devil comes to steal to kill and to destroy but when jesus comes he rescues those oppressed by the devil when jesus comes he delivers those oppressed by the devil when jesus comes the tempter's power is broken when jesus comes all sins are cast away when jesus comes the yoke of the enemy is broken when jesus comes the burden of the devil is lifted up when jesus comes sicknesses can be healed when jesus comes darkness can be cast out when jesus comes demons are flushed out when jesus comes he does a good work he delivers he sets free he saves he heals he brings freedom glory to god the bible says for this purpose the son of god was manifested 1st john chapter 3. for this purpose the son of god was manifested three verse eight that he might destroy the works of the devil is the devil working in your life today are you bound by a habit you cannot break are you bound by a burden you cannot set yourself free today in the name of jesus you will be set free oh come on let me have a good witness here this morning come on let me have a witness here this morning you will be set free in the name of jesus you will be set free in the name of jesus there's somebody here who has been having a lot of digestional problems diversional problems is so intense it's gone on and on and on and on today your deliverance is coming in the name of jesus you know that's a it's a woman in scriptures the bible says that this woman had been bent over for many years in luke chapter 12 you'll find the story chapter 13 you find the story there this woman had been bent over for many years and she walked with me with a hunch she's been bent over for many years the bible said that jesus christ was ministering somewhere and the spirit and the presence and the power of the lord was strong when jesus saw this woman he looked at her luke 13 12. he's a woman that would lose hallelujah woman that that happens when we lay hands and i teach this to you so that you understand that when we go around laying hands on people it's not a religious ceremonial exercise there is something dynamic there's something mystical and powerful that transpires when we land on an individual many years ago i remember i walked into a room of a god of a guy who said i mean he couldn't see for a long time i walked into the room and i laid my hands on him and i just said why are you here you should not be here now i laid my hands on him and i just be healed in jesus name i turned and i walked away he ran after me i can see i can see i can see i remember one day i came into mine i was coming home in lagos and as i walked into my house there's a neighbor who lived next door and they started screaming my child people were called into offices particularly in office of a king or office of a prophet they were anointed with all elisha was anointed saul was anointed david was anointed so when we anoint you with all and i say all of this so that you understand what's going on whenever you anoint yourself with all now please listen to me it did not say when you drink all because i know there was a time when this this this this habit was was going around which is born out of ignorance where people were drinking oil and the thing that that is that's how the anointing comes you may as well drink a guru guru spoke about somebody with a pain in the right ear she called me and she waited for a couple of days to ensure that the pain did not come back that the pain was truly gone and that now she's whole and now she's healed so so there are times when i speak like this and you know it is you and god does something come and share the testimony it's not for me but for others and also for me because it encourages me to know that okay this thing is working isn't it you think it's easy to stand up here and say that hey um yes there's somebody who has you think it's easy there was a time when i was afraid if i said and if it is not true what happens but god has brought me to a place where all i need to do is verify is it god is it god it does not matter whether somebody raised their hand no no it does not matter you know one day i remember many months later one lady she met me she said you know pastor that word of knowledge you gave some time ago it was me i looked at her i just said thank god for christ and thank god that we're in church outside you waited until many many months later that you came to tell me you know so please if you have a testimony you can write it down you don't
