Alternative Learning Management Systems: Seesaw and Edmodo

on managing distance training a guide for parents it has been decided it has been proposed okay and to um suspend uh postponed no sorry postpone our events last week because we had no of course in consideration of our our teachers the public schools uh public schools have been um going through or undergoing their inset no for the entire week so we decided to postpone our um our webinars or events no last week okay so today we'll be um starting off now and uh finish up our uh march series together up with this uh event for today which is uh on skills training series and okay and this will be teachers know um something that we think will be very very beneficial especially this sort of like uh other teachers know um it's like a preparation for next school year this is what we're going to try to do now okay we're going to um start okay preparing we're starting uh to gear towards preparation for next year that's what we're going to do that's why right now we're going to present you uh alternative learning management systems okay we know you have your own learning management systems uh i know you are for a fact that you've been using um your own lms cameron ponos um personally in savior school where i teach we uh we use a particular learning management system also in ateneo where i'm teaching as well so we're going to give you more options we're going to let you see further anupang meron okay what else know what other learning management systems are out there okay for us to try and all of these teachers know are also for free okay so these are also open source open resources for all of us to try and to use okay um and uh ako is a tools network that we're going to be presented today okay um this is something that where i started uh technology integration okay so um i have been using one one of the tools that's going to be presented today foreign of course we got you a a trainer you know an a a professional trainer for for us to share um to share with us sorry uh to share with us uh okay that actually telling us intensively okay so that's what we're going to have for this afternoon teachers know um but what's in store for us uh today okay so hopefully um benefits and we actually get to um um see you know the benefit of this uh alternative learning management system by the way teachers know when you say alternative these are not inferior learning management systems uh uh we call them alternative because i think in a way they are less popular compared to those that are in the mainstream like uh moodle google classroom ms teams and other learning management systems um or schoology okay we're using schoology or canvas or using canvas in a teneo but this are equally powerful learning management systems so they are not inferior okay so we don't call them alternative because they are lesser in terms of capabilities these tools are very capable um and sometimes compared to the other learning management systems that most popular submarket or as educational system not them okay so um uh i'd like to give a very very quick shout out to all the teachers who are watching right now okay um please do also um do also put your names your uh your schools or your locations in the chat okay for us to greet you uh of course uh nasa so we're now dividing i don't know divide and conquer coming in okay so some of us are in this you our speaker for today um who will be uh guiding us now um in discovering more about um about edmodo okay so let me introduce to you uh teacher april uh b bongai or teacher april um how her students and co-teachers call her is a mathematics teacher at the wishbone kiddicam las pinas and just recently passed the application to become a public school teacher she finished her bachelor of secondary education major in mathematics from the university of perpetual health system dalton las pinas and is currently taking her master's of arts in education major in mathematics in the national teachers college manila aside from teaching mathematics she is also teaching a financial literacy as a financial certified investment advisor pro-life uk so multitasking i think all teachers are she completed the edmodo certified trainer program last november 2020 and is now supporting educators by leading efficient and engaging at model professional development opportunities so uh let's all welcome with us uh teacher april um to help us discover more understand appreciate edmodo as a learning management system okay good afternoon teacher april good afternoon sir from yeah good afternoon first time first time and um we always um that's the best feature of kagapai teacher support community we talk to each other we make it a discussion okay so it becomes a sharing you know a shared learning experience right so teacher april um before secret i am starting i'd like to share i know uh when i started teaching in savior school yes so when when i started teaching in saver school around that 2000 2009 okay and uh because we have a a technology integration program in xavier school uh edmodo tell again guinea gametco for my learning management system it's not like an academic platform it's it's something that uh indica stigma academics something like that very relaxing i've eaten so i i've known for a fact teacher april from the time that i was using it that's 2009 already that's like 10 years ago um edmodo have gone a massive amount of updates and um and no no no and uh changes and i'm i'm super excited to discover what have changed google certified trainer status uh before i give you the floor for uh your session for today can you give us like a very very short uh description on what to expect what will the audience get to know what they're going to see for this session maybe for for this afternoon is s when you look at these teachers know uh regardless of what you're using now you're using google classroom moodle or other learning management systems be open okay learning management systems and um [Music] weaknesses [Laughter] uh i won't take off much of her time anymore um i'll give you the floor now um so please take it away teachers do enjoy if you educators and colleagues first of all i'm very honored and excited to share with you i'm one helpful tool that we can use in our online learning and teaching okay i am very excited um this afternoon to spend this afternoon with you know and it's really great to be here thank you sir alvina for introducing me to sir franco and the hulk agape um teacher support community graphic live audience no um so from the bottom of my heart point out pero thank you so much for having me so we are very familiar now with learning management system um we are even using lms they were face to face in a classroom setting but when coronavirus spread it caused school closures all over the world but the virus didn't stop us because we teachers and the whole education sector have worked hand in hand not i don't do good powers so that education will still continue even on digital platforms so maraming schools learning management system that will continuously um support the needs of their students for learning and of course teachers to deliver the curriculum so some of the most popular learning management system so you ben and get mr franco hanina um which i am very sure that you are already using for your virtual classrooms no your moodle schoology google classrooms canvas okay what else you can type in the live chat box um what lms are you currently using in your school huh and we are so grateful because of the technology learning didn't have to stop so as we gear towards another year of distance learning okay let me introduce to you another equally powerful cost-free alternative learning management system which is dead model okay but before i start my presentation let me introduce myself no i'm april i'm a mac teacher living in las pina city so i want to say hi to all my co-teachers in wishbone kdcam to our principal teacher tracy hello paul no to my professors classmates mahamaya jericho no jonsa university of perpetual health system delta hello everyone no and shampoo shout out then some classmates and professors in the national teachers college no i hope that all of you are safe and sound in the comforts of your home no and i'm also a licensed financial and investment advisor knows i'm also doing presentations about finances and investments but for today teachers know i will be your edmodo trainer okay so let's let's do this ayan okay so i would like to share no and model class that i set up for today so if you already have edmodo applications on your phone so my appointment or if you are on your computers right now you can type this link and it will lead you straight to this class no so i named it kts for agape teacher support skills training or um if you don't have an account yet no once you click this link it will ask you to create an account now so please um just go ahead teachers sign up using your email that's all you need huh so by the way poha for students and parents if they need to create an account no email so and for our students we just have to advise them that they must register using their full name so later we um hope to have a short demonstration towards the end of my presentation but if you already have an edmodo account not the class code is on the right side of your screen ayan hi aubry and my student is watching hi aubry um so the code is rp7s4k so what you will do is just click on join class so the tab to join a class now must be there in your edmodo screen so type the code and later we will be in one place but for our live audience right now huh no and yuma students this is not a requirement for my presentation today huh it's just an invitation so you can experience it before you use it in your classroom okie dokes yan installing edmodo thank you sir carlito okay moving on so again a class code boy is rp 7s4k now um the key points for discussion we are going to focus on 14 spot no first i will have a short discussion about edmodo and how we can use it in our classroom as a learning platform next you discuss national core features okay and then how to get organized using edmodo okay and again we will also discuss some advantages no and disadvantages of using edmodo okay i'm very sure now um a disadvantage yes and if time permits no um we will have a quick demonstration in the class no young cena for today all right so i'm sure that some of our teachers in the audience right now are already familiar with edmodo so edmodo is one of the many learning management systems that we can actually use in our um virtual classroom and we call it a social network for e-learning okay because from the word social network it brings all stakeholders the students parents teachers and the school admins together in a friendly educational environment oh hi paul um it's a classroom or a virtual classroom rather no it's a great tool um for assignment collection it's a quiz maker no a great book and all you could hope for in a learning management system it is mobile ready no meaning you can access it through the mobile app in your smartphones can be in a tablet ipad so whether it's a laptop or desktop computers and it is built with responsive design in mind no very user friendly it is web-based and a free tool so you only need your email address to create an account okay so take note that our live audience there's no need for complicated um installation processes no so that's one of the good things about edmodo and what else now it is very easy to use it has a nice know and simple interface and um parents know and students can uh easily learn how to use this platform and as i have mentioned a while ago can major business cell phone it's a social network where we can post and we can put comments no we can also like and share and [Applause] teach subscribe and i own mahilig bin awesome music and i'm teaching financial literacy so no so we can use edmodo anywhere may it be in person online or anywhere in between no but for now um since maritime pandemic it is widely used for online teaching and learning so it's a communication platform where teachers and students collaborate just like in a classroom set up so whatever subject you are teaching now let's say you are teaching mathematics physics language okay kite physical physical education edmodo is a very helpful tool okay so in your screen right now it says there that edmodo can be your community's hub for learning now it's a powerful tool for collaboration and it's not only designed for students no it can be used for all types of learning groups so epix began if you are a facilitator of a certain core group no let's say um you are handling you are handling um a girls club or youth groups or other social groups no you can use edmodo as your tool to communicate and collaborate yeah okay and because we have the largest global online learning community 30 million active users all over the world no all over 190 countries okay and as well as active and mother trainers and ambassadors everywhere so help is always there when and where you need it okay i know um there are many tools out there okay this is just one of your options no but i hope as we go along know this presentation you will get helpful tips and insights that you can use in your classroom okay moving on i am three types of account in edmodo okay so the teacher account the student and the parent account so for the teacher account again you will sign up not using your email so you can use all features in edmodo know which we will discuss later but the only thing not that teachers cannot do using their account is to send a message to students that they are not connected through their classes oh a meaning teachers can only connect or communicate to students who are enrolled or you must students no now for the students account um they can join a class of course they can post or comment on their class they can take and submit quizzes and assignments no they can explore discovery page elaborate nothing more features they have backpacks and of course they can send a message to their teacher um however no students cannot create their own class or group they cannot they can they cannot also direct send direct messages to other students unless the teacher will create a thread conversation for them conversation teacher for the parents account no parents can see posts um upcoming or completed tasks no if they have multiple children using edmodo they can connect to more than once to death no so that way human parents can monitor their children using their parents account no they can send direct message then to the teacher and then they can view conversations between their child and the teacher okay so conversation students but just like for students parents however cannot create their own class or group so when you see a padding mug post or mug like on post that is not directed to parents no um they cannot send direct messages to other students or parents no personally po um i haven't explored the parent account no since i am using a teacher account no and my students the man are using student account no but so far hula manpong violent reactions or negative feedbacks about the use of parent accounts now based on my experience here with uh the parents so we've already defined what is edmodo no now we will go to its core features so another thing i love about edmodo is i can use it um synchronously or asynchronously no so teachers are very familiar with these two terms now for example pono i'm having a video conferencing no i'm with my students and the bhagavati before the lesson proper review okay so i would ask my class not to go to their edmodo accounts not to access a short review quiz not printed ahead no so right then and there no synchronously i can see the students who are already doing the activity okay and who doesn't okay though we cannot control the internet problems of some media even us we always experience inter internet interruptions no so some of them will say um teacher my ad model won't load because i'm in the video conference no and my internet is slow so that's where asynchronous learning will happen okay because you will just tell your students that they can do the review quiz later after your video conference so that way also okay that's right aubryno that way you are giving your students that sense of responsibility not that they must do the quiz not the review quiz because teacher understands their situation going back to the topic okay so for those who are taking down notes or i think so edmodo's communication collaboration and classroom tools empower educators to customize the learning experience no so here in edmodo you can create your classes groups and small groups okay so depending who's a purpose and some instructions no um let's say no no uh that the class or the group that you will be creating is for the whole section okay and since you are the advisor you will be managing that particular class deba and then paris and small groups it can be assigned for each subject so with that organize young delivery of instructions attention students no small groups can also be used for student led learning especially for students on higher levels okay so ebc binpo here um an edmodo is not only for grade school students no better in shanghai um nasa uh multitasker levels like college no so here i am now in your screen i am showing a screenshot now of my edmodo training class okay so you can personally you can personalize not the caller i'm the header and you can create small groups no again depends on how you want to organize your class okay ayan so zoom integration amano um however no um the zoom integration works for paid users only pero um if you don't have a premium account in zoom that's fine we can simply post announcement about our meeting details like the zoom link or google meet uh google meet links that our students can simply click no so with my classpo um i am using webex for our video conferencing ayan okay next we have the shared folders so anget modopo has a storage feature which is and you know what folders files nothing quiz assignments we can also share it to our co-teachers especially if you are teaching the same subject okay next we can also post and comment um just like what i have said no edmodo is a social network for e-learning so students i am so students and teachers can communicate through comments all right it's a great tool to get immediate feedback from our students polls can be about the lesson review or simply you can use the wellness check feature no sodito in my sample poll ayan i asked my students how were they um or how did they find the lesson no i am so 44 percent said it was easy i know and 56 percent said they're a bit confused so the balance of results it's already a good indicator that on our next video conferencing and we can do a review again okay moving on the assignments quizzes um jumpstart activities so these are the assessment tools that you can actually make use of okay so it's easy to create now you can attach images links videos you date or you can set it up how long they can only take a particular quiz okay scores are recorded straight to your grade book no so teachers take notes online grade book okay and this grade book can be downloaded in a spreadsheet no so jump start activities naman so these are gamified activities okay so in the jumpstart academy a maraming available template or themes that you can choose from so um when our students completed an assignment or task uh we can award them badges personally i love badges online um so there are a lot of badges that don't know that we can choose okay depending on the student's achievement ayan next we have the i am so sorry hi miss christina so in the direct messaging no but i don't messenger know where students parents and teachers can communicate privately okay we can also use direct messaging to create group conversations with multiple members so but teachers are only allowed to do this and students can only communicate with the teacher and not with other students privately associated activity and they need to communicate with each other have them talk in small groups or you can create uh what they call this a thread comment so in that way number monitor moreno you must perform there's a group activity next we um youngju datepo automatically shows on your student's calendar but is a calendar so with that um both of you are organized no and what's good about it is whenever you post something your students will get notified okay my notifications push i know mismo app and the email and pagni like or they put comments there you will be notified next we have the last feature is the discover no or the discovery page well sister friend so i think discovery page is a new space on it model um where teachers and students can find free high quality educational resources such as activities applications manga games already made games videos that are shared by the the entire edmodo teacher community okay and of course from our trusted education partners okay discover page i moving on yeah so we've discussed for the the core features of edmodo no but for the interest of saving time huh i will not demonstrate for all the features or how each feature is done or made in your classroom but uh you can reach me through my email no mama comments no if you want to understand further how to use the different features of edmodo okay that i've created for today we will try some features there okay now besides you some comment from a sixth grade teacher no we have that model rodriguez students can access resources and reminders from anywhere no more stacks of paper now my students and i can stay organized no now i'm speaking of organize we will now move to the next key point of our discussion which is to get organized okay well um this work from home set up now can be a bit messy for some no no no no no no no no as a teacher as a nanai they were as a student and as a financial advisor and some of us yes are multitasking so getting organized is a bit challenging right but if you are using edmodo no lost advertise okay it will help you organize know your teacher tasks and even with your students they will become more independent because edmodo is actually helping them to be organized okay now how to get organized using edmodo so you can simplify your classroom with these four features of edmodo okay so take note teachers um please listen very carefully so first we have the storage ayan familiar google drive so it has it has a limit 15 gig ending uh i will create another account google account so i can have another access to 15 gig let's also bring them in hacking files and all but with that model you can easily store your classroom content in one place and you can upload files so nikita you say screen in your know my file upload you can create folders but again organized you can save the links instructions and the quizzes the assignments that you are creating in edmodo is um saved it's being saved directly to your library okay so create non-quiz or assignments edmodo no so well that feature poke can be um discuss no uh with you in another session so but for now in our live audience we just hope to touch the most important features so my question now what if most of your files saves a google drive okay download your own tables especially for free users has a one gig limitation only so um premium accounts can have unlimited storage so when you need to upload a file to your classroom so you can simply connect nalangno your google drive account in your edmodo account parama post ninja straight to your classroom okay so pedi pon connected your account straight to your edmodo okay so yuma students libraries okay so whatever materials um that we gave to our that we are giving to our class it will be automatically saved to their backpacks so it's very it's a very helpful feature no the second one is the quizzes and assignments and assignments and quizzes are given due dates and can be automatically recorded in the edmodo grade book so assignments can include not only the main instruction but we can also add links to websites reference links um you want to add documents videos photos and etc no we want to keep track of our students progress so with this edmodo feature po teachers we can quickly see which students have completed assignments even how many times they will attempt to repeat some bit submitting an assignment okay uh students submit an assignment no let's say attend item it's ayan and then we can also give their score right away this assignment no and teacher no name personal comments okay human so with this assignment feature we can give personal notes no on our students work okay we can put private comments so submitted assignments with the quiz feature of edmodo what i love about edmodo quiz is yes but there are different types of test questions um but we can choose from not depending on the topic and level of understanding the students not in okay so how to create a quiz again on a separate session is monitored students not in especially if they are if you are giving the quiz synchronously what happened no because you finished the quiz for 10 minutes only so well um in my personal experience is spell instructions instructions is very important no because for edmodo quiz is case sensitive so let's say it's a fill in the blank test no and you input an answer key but the student um typed a wrong spelling they were somatic the bashi will be tagged wrong in that item okay important before the student open a quiz or even an assignment okay the instructions are um clear okay to them ayan now moving on no next feature of edmodo to help you get organized is the progress tracker okay as what i have mentioned a while ago everything for that we do here um our students will be notified okay so if we grade their quiz if we put comments on the items they've mistakenly answered they will know right away okay well unless you sa well uh that will be your strategy not what teachers have but this feature for me is really good because i can instantly measure my students progress and human appearance progress okay now the last feature porno to get you organized is the teacher and students planner okay well um we know how planner works for sure uh you know my teacher that's a live chat i'm amanda planners the planner helps cut back on missing and late assignments so both teachers and students can easily track important and upcoming due dates but time check it's already six o'clock i think we've already discussed now the advantages of id model but before we continue uh anyway paul teachers were almost done no let's go muna to the edmodo class that i set up for today um hopefully okay for a while i know i ayan and i'll stop sharing pumuna and pupuntanamantayosa um edmodo hey the left sideboard avatar no and wishbone that's my school and on this side it is so i have my edmodo training class and then if you use skills training that i created for today and then you do my existing um classes school and then it image groups rp7 s4 k small letters only and what's good about um posting here no we can personalize okay um our post no bedding large title cool nothing bold no um hello everyone thank you for um joining my class you can add from your library okay [Applause] especially you know if we are handling multiple classes [Music] this is where we can create an lesson plan for the whole week no so instead of giving our students the pdf forms or document files nah my schedule like monday tuesday and so on and so forth pretty nothing illagay okay let's say uh this is for uh march let's say a second week of april so uh let's say title her second um attachments or whatsoever ayan and close kamuna and then s and then there's an option again to attach files add link or add straight from your library okay so data is an assignment now let's say um let's write an assignment let's say take away take away okay what are your takeaways for today's session ayan no and then when you click assigno um and then there's an option to lock after you date no so when you click teachers not the luck after you date the students cannot attach assignments anymore no no since uh again new instructions nothing very very important no and then it all uh multiple choice method true or false i'm short answer fill in the blanks matching and multiple uh multiple answers okay so nothing disgusting quiz on a different session okay ayan okay wait long antagon hey so again a discus advantages and then we even explored no the edmodo class okay so well not really disadvantages no but we'll go over some comments or concerns know of teachers and students about how they use edmodo okay [Music] um there have been instances no of students answers disappearing when they submit in saliva based on my experience poha when the internet connection is slow or there's no enough mobile data there's a tendency that the student's attachments will not be posted so khalapun ilana no it also happened to me when i was checking a quiz and usually there's an option uh to put comments or answer key the student no to submit next concern is some notifications that will constantly reappear even after being cleared well um this is true on my case no um 2020 nasa notification stab coparen pero um this concern was being raised now uh in the edmodo teacher uh edmodo certified trainers community you know and i think they're doing something about this no period notifications please but what i do here no since i am handling two grade levels with three sections each no so it should be in six classes push in total um i always give time to check each class okay because if you if you will just depend on the notifications tab no we will uh most likely missed out on something put a lager okay now the mobile version is not as good as the web version and has technical glitches which students occasionally complain about okay well uh no no technical glitches no when it comes to the mobile app no the help on edmodo my mobile app and of course my web-based version then no and my malfunctions put a lager teachers that you cannot use when you are in the mobile version okay well mari realized when you've gone through all edmodo features so mobile app no i suggest you go to the google chrome browser in your phone and put log in poi site mode and you don't know so same functionality ransa laptop or desktop computers on the screen children are the priority changes the reality and collaboration is the strategy okay i know all of you teachers now will agree with me know that that transition from face-to-face learning to online education was a real challenge for parents and students and for us they are pero what's good uh i mean what's good about it now is we've seen changes and improvements there we even witnessed the growth in our students and young parents and teachers they are engaged in online learning teachers and students parents full support so even though they said a boy is different from uh to the face-to-face interaction uh we are so proud that we can continue uh with a curriculum because we have collaboration teachers and dedication of the teachers and of course um learning students no students not in lagging presence among virtual classrooms so um teachers these are the things that we covered in my um a short segment i hope it's short maxi 6 30 napalano i'm really glad to share all of these things with you but before i officially end uh sir francois um technology will not replace great teachers but technology in the hands of great teachers can be transformational okay that's the end of my presentation i hope all of you had a good time maraming sir franco um they don't mind the extension they don't mind by presentation of them because um actually [Laughter] weaknesses that's all true for all learning management systems perfect in the learning management systems there's always a i don't know a way to go around it there's always a way answer your question later no um um after the second presentation yeah take a teacher april so um let's now welcome our second speaker for today who is not necessarily um new to us he has always been with us now from day one okay so uh our second speaker uh will be uh sir angelo bill maliari okay administrator of kagapi teacher support and also a google certified educator and also an apple learning uh leader in safer school also one of our technology specialists in our school and then in terms of teachers no again practice experience in terms of using technology he is really the person to go to and he'll be walking us uh in the use of yet another open resource learning management system called cso so let's all welcome to our stream right now um sir angelo [Laughter] teachers know we're offering all of these options to you know we've offered before google classroom we offer to you um edmodo and now another learning management system it's not for you to like uh i know um for us to be divided no um in a comment actually kanina nexabe it's not about what learning management you're using it's about comfortability familiarity so but in teachers learning management system and um we're committed to using the learning management system as you get out of the vertical use uh sir i don't know intelligent deeper use of our extensive use of this learning learning management systems so teachers uh i won't take that much time anymore and i'll give the floor now to sir angela to show us yet another uh learning management system called cso franco so again uh is um the very first time that i really started using um learning management systems but i was drawn to this learning management system uh called seesaw because i having an easter franco one of the things that we also have to look into is comfortability and i feel very comfortable using this i find it very easy okay so i have your presentation uh for uh simple training actually hands-on trainings uh i'll just walk you through later on do some manga many features me see-saw okay i am sir angelo okay i'm also a cso ambassador um something that i have worked years before so until that i'm working for that uh learning management system i see to it that every now and then i utilize uh for some of the things that i um offering i'm in school so uh this school year i we use this in grade seven as a part of an assessment okay so about google certified educator and apple learning leader okay so for today po we will not be doing everything the manpo okay so we'll just have the introduction to siso anubat and laga and then um some of the creative tools okay that uh we can use okay for cso as uh teachers and also as a uh for our students and then we'll try to explore it not us maybe later as a student and some classroom activity ideas okay so uh i hope this will play let's play it first [Music] i love when that light bulb that aha moment happens when they've been working really hard and all of a sudden that light bulb goes off and they just that click of oh i get it now i'm looking for new ways to engage my students every single day seesaw hands down is the best thing that has ever happened to any of my third grade classrooms whether it's math writing social studies in art class in music class it works for everything there's so many different ways that a student can create they can take pictures they can do drawing they can record and then have to go a step further and explain their thinking in a way that really cements the learning seesaw helps me because it gives me that immediate feedback of how the kids are doing it helps me find those misconceptions in their lesson and then the following day to reteach those concepts that were missed the star activity library is a go-to almost every single day i love that i can get so many different ideas for activities that i could use right there in one spot students love seesaw they get very proud of their portfolio and they like to share it with other people i saw that i was at work at a meeting my little notification popped up i use the seesaw family app both at home and at work it really helps me give an insight of what ava is doing not only in class but also the way that she's thinking and her process and i think that's priceless i love how seesaw really allows me to get to know my students on a deeper level they don't always want to stand up or raise their hand to talk in class but i feel like seesaw really allows them to open up and shine yeah and so i hope uh that short video helps us to look into what is in store for us when we use seesaw yeah uh just to share also in savior in the higher levels using um schoology but for the lower levels especially the kinder grade one i think i'm gonna read three at our group four many of them are not all of them are using actually cso as their platform their learning management system so in a way you can say the major appealing it's not the limitation of because it's this kind of um set up or this kind of um platform is actually you can use it even to others even to uh older um teachers or even older uh students so to get to know more so cso is the best platform for empowering students to demonstrate and share learning so cso will also be uh and can be a way for us to see the portfolio of students so how has he developed in his learning iso provides that because each student you will already know so so formative insights because you will see because of the many tools you will be able to maximize actually the the learning of the students you can uh another uh great feature of the indigo passion is the family communication so uh seesaw already improved on not only using it or for our students only but also for parents education and when you have that communication okay so uh aside from that unlock creativity because siso offers not only typing ability you can grow they can take photos they can pick videos okay they can uh upload a particular file they can do so many things when we walk through that particular application right so there are many powerful tools that they can actually use combine and then another thing is that within seesaw you can already get so much inspiration and ideas because there are thousands of things that you can get from the library itself okay so once you are part of these or once you uh have an account accountancy other resources other posted activities that students can actually do so you know mom again features me see so then so how does c so work so again see uh students use intuitive tools to capture demonstrate learning in a portfolio type then teachers get valuable insights into what students understand without extra work and the families sees the child's work and leave comments and encouragement okay and in our setup now magandang gaming so because okay it can work even with one device so is that it's uh for all platforms or all uh predicts ios uh google so later it downloads okay so some things to pick inside what is uh in siso okay later we will try to look at it example here my okay and then the list of students each one has a journal each uh student will have his own journal which is where there are using their device it can be a camera of their uh ipad the top death or even phone by the national meeting for them to be able to sign in or kumaran is a school for example their school avails the federance g so let's just check in some of the things that we can use okay so first is okay uh i think this one and um inside the seesaw account so for example you you can use photo you can also ask them to video themselves you can also upload okay files photos videos also notes okay they can also uh view notes and even links so so this is not only for the students this is also for teachers so you can utilize all of this okay so let's go back so i don't feature me uh the photo i don't know with a photo so for example you take a photo later might get an opinion so once you take a photo yeah this will be the one that you capture for example so here at the sides you can add text okay you can also attach other pictures okay and there are other things you can add stars you can add some decorations and then on the sub you can drag the photo then you have also some um either pen pencil that you can use to draw also to write down okay and then on this other side yuma caller so uh pencil so for and so on so up with approval of the teacher so for example it's a practice test and you want them to just look into uh learning you can and then you can also um approve it and then once it's approved it will show in the stream okay so classroom ideas uh we can start very simple for example uh just post a student journal so for example here uh in here the example is experiment okay you can start by uh going to the student uh journal and then click the um camera okay and then we have it and then from there they can actually they can demonstrate for example a math concept if they want you can also use the voice in the photo so once i have a photo and then you want to explain possibilities another tool uh very well used is the drawing tool so when you click the drawing tool to you manga make it so you can use labels you can draw a record capture the learning process you can make a collage of the the uh with multiple photos and you can connect them with using the pen you can add background shapes you can even add caption to the text okay or the voice then you can annotate and draw then create colors so i mean i got with just the drawing to it and if for example don't worry there's an undo and a redo button and just don't click the check button to submit the check button submit button don't just click that you can redo it and do it again okay another concept that you can use for math to explain so padding uh with the use of the drawing tool okay just black white okay background concepts this is talk while they are doing that so it's the magandang uh later on my guitar they will try to explore the other tools okay so what else i'm putting nothing uh mangan aside from again from the activities you can also uh utilize you if activities so because of the library resources so just go for example later go to browse activity library and then from there you can choose so padding the grade level the subjects okay and there are many things that you can actually get from this piece not only in the philippines but even around the world so insane learning management system and a student portfolio at the same time okay so yeah when you go to the activities you will be able to see yeah for example uh getting started with cso in grade 2 so you want to to share and make the students aware of what cso is and prepare them for the usage of see-saw so activities and everything so there are many things that you can actually explore on that that they want you just have to click the activity and share and once you have shared that to your class this particular activity with the instructions let's say you can also use uh photos step by step so you will just go oh click the add button which they will see then click the take a photo or the camera and take the microphone click the microphone and then click check to add the journal and you can also add your instructions we have to also think about uh not to be inclusive to all so blind you can also add uh an audio of your instruction so it brings up hindi [Music] which i think it's very good especially in uh education inclusive education and nothing then aside from that ayan this is the library again okay that you have to go to your school libraries for example you decided as a school to to use uh for your learning management system [Music] members so again share the school library other things again can connect families to see is for our uh our parents uh our guard the guard their guardians to also know what is happening to them so connecting families through cso okay using the this particular app marination separate at four parents or four of the families and when you have that i and so it's free for you so free up russia so you can visit the the fria family app or even the go to so that me so here since students capture the learning in seesaw the teacher approve it notify to this uh to the family member in real time personally i haven't uh had this yet okay and aside from that and you will also see the plus sign for the families so mama explored so when you have that okay so text can be translated over 55 languages uh um chinese uh spanish speaking japanese speaking you can actually translate your uh instruction or the the things that you are sharing to the so you can actually have that translate okay what you are sharing in their language okay of course aside from that and you can also have okay the announcements okay private message the the parents okay use any of the siso tools to create attachment okay you can also share class photos letters forms links so and connect more our families to the learning of our students aside from that they have many free professional development uh it can be in the form of videos it can be started recording let's say youtube they also have their youtube channel or even the web the uh seeso dot me slash pbs you can learn so much okay on how you will be able to utilize uh seesaw in your classes okay and then they said uh not only in bordeaux and i think in most of the the learning management management system cso have a community which uh helps us okay not only for you as a for example butler new undertale new uh learner of new users connect okay teachers that are using already sees though so they have their uh of course help that see so that me they have their twitter their instagram they have their facebook groups where teachers share as part of the seesaw community as assistant ambassador and from there techniques updates everything and also once you become an ambassador or a pioneer you account your point of view account they will upgrade that to a siso plus account where you can explore more you know yeah so uh i don't know i'll try to go to this tian sir franco i think okay so learning i'll just go down you can use siso in any of the devices okay you can get it in google play you can have download it in your app store you can have it in a scroll web store amazon okay so on this part okay you can also choose to be a student so as a teacher will try uh you'll also be asked to try it as a student okay so quite clinical you will see all the classes that you have okay for example this one i wanted archive uh sometimes i use uh some of them as part of the demonstration so i don't archive it so later but i got my skills training so then you can also have the scan then there's also the help button you can also see here to add a new class okay then there's also the gear button and your account setting you can share the seesaw contacts support okay the device information privacy center so here in my basic so for example just click the uh my account the name okay you can also put your picture icon or email phone if you are part of the school directory supposing okay so manage uh subscription for that csu plus then uh class notification so for example there is a new notification from her class and exhausted uh you can also have your notifications okay um turn it off and then tips tricks these updates they will also give it to you again that you can archive the class you can also look into and manage the archaic certified educator okay and um i have been using this really for quite some time now again so aside from that i am seeing a gopro i'm editing on that so i can just click the student's name and then okay for example for example yeah then if i for example just go back to my journal class journal okay if i want to add something like an announcement i just click the add button and then yeah post students work okay you can assign an activity and send announcement okay so for example let's just click this so post a student's work so i also have the option of the same as my students so photo drawing video upload note link so for example i want to share a photo yeah so i'll just allow this one so i'll take a photo for example peace yeah so here i am so photo i what i can do i can add a text for example i want to say hello everyone i guess hello so once i have it i can drag it okay options so here you have the style the order of course limitations uh phone okay you can add voice okay so duplicate and delete so that's just one of the many for example i also want to add ah and start recording in three to one okay go hello everyone then you just have to click done and then again uh sharing or you're speaking if you want to add other photos you can just click there photo it can be a video you can also upload and then this one if you want to add shapes for example i want uh i can add the thought bubble here okay and i can move here the hell story sorry so you can also lock this one so for example here just put locked and then you're gonna move okay so you can add the quotation again if you want to to write on something for example here okay i'm just using my anna uh laptop and for example okay so here i can already have that and then just click this or if you are not yet sure complete click the draft okay uh certain parts you can also click this you can just click the add page and then it will have the next page then it's a blank page again so you know then you just have to click the check button you can select it to the teacher to your students spreading all students in this trial class or even just specific persons for example i just wanted to my sample student okay so announcements here is another thing but we will not be exploring it anymore but you can create folder parameters and even skills so for example you want new skills especially somehow uh counting skills or uh young addition skills so again for example just click on it and then it will show now to your stream [Music] okay so once it it plays that you'll be able to see that then you can also have this the like button they can also put a comment you can also put the comment okay and uh private notes if you have notes for examples okay then again the folder okay and this one is the scale so tagging skills and the folders okay so that is for that so this is your stream but if you want to see me calendar input submission so for example today 25 in this particular class of mine made the submission two items that were submitted so okay okay then uh again if you want to share this one to the parents learning code where they will be able to access not everything that is entirety of the uh class journal but only the students class journals aside from that okay you have all the activities here so so these are the things that you can manage okay okay so it will also show in my notification that i have to review this particular ah okay so yeah i think uh yeah aside from that class setting so quickly i think it's already seven sorry for extending settings if you want our students to uh be able to access they can comment or you want them uh to uh feel free to post without you even being notified so okay i'll try to refresh my channel for example here's a notification there is a particular post that i have not uh reviewed and i want it to to be checked paramount uh jordan it's a portfolio then i have i can also look into this one okay so yeah let's try that okay uh then you have the grade levels if it's pre-k until uh grade 12 or even others for example you can manage teacher you can add invite teachers to be part of your class okay you can also rename it of course you can also have the class theme uh here green and pineal not but you can change it to other colors it's not very lavender you can also have your icon you can upload an image or you can choose from any of the images here and then student sign-in mode you can just have to choose it's either if they have a shared device online or nasa pedestal manage your students again if you already have a student might then your art student but then you push and manage learning student codes for you to be able to communicate and connect with your families students like and comment if you don't want your students to uh reflection and i want the students to be very open so hindi connection anytime he wants so i sometimes close this okay so here it is enable students likes like later and enable students comments so by the game comments so hopefully then you push up it disable okay so pair the pop okay because again new items required so i will turn it off already i am editing edit allow students to edit who is tagged in the post okay so on and then again family access again well not anymore going to do this but you can also manage skills if you want certain skills for certain uh quarters italian progressive our class so for example here uh share the students okay so uh we will not be using email okay so for example one to one device long so here i was escaped okay so if you have your device with you okay you can go to cso class app ios or android you can also go to app.cso.com okay or any computer in cloverfirefox choose i'm a student and then you can either scan another uh option especially if you have younger students again this is not just limited to younger students but it may appeal more to younger students as again as i share in savior in terms of the many things that he can do with seesaw so i hope i was able to share with you something that uh an option an alternative for you to uh explore and use later on especially in our uh next year but i
