now his remarkable career spans theater film and television in works as varied and his memorable as Pride and Prejudice British Jones diary and Mamma Mia - his oscar-winning role in The King's Speech now he stars in the action-adventure film Kingsman the Secret Service please welcome sexy Colin Furze [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] that's why I keep coming back you know it is Hugh Grant who is here tomorrow who who originally gave us the nickname sexy Colin Firth he might be revising that music hiding sound no I I wish it you didn't have Hugh following I left the kind of trail of breadcrumbs for him no you live in London now your parents were academic scholars at one time we're enough he looked at st. Louis Missouri how did that happen my father did it teachers exchange it's just you can do that I don't know how you do it but there's someone on that side of the world agrees that we're going to swap places so we live in their house they live in our house they swap jobs and we just as a kind of a lottery where you get so it was st. Louis I was at Hazelwood West junior high in the Hazelwood Ferguson school districts of st. Louis and it was a year in eighth grade I passed my Constitution test don't ask me now how did you like it you know it was I loved it actually I loved that year it was a little difficult I did not want to be conspicuous that if a kid you know we moved around a great deal and I just wanted to go as unnoticed as possible and I would think in st. Louis you'd be so exotic with your British accent I thought it wasn't the word they used they used a lot of words that one never came up no it was some I had some great friends there and I had some people who weren't and so it was intense and I'd so I I suppose I I tried to be a comedic a medium with bad timing so you know when I was there I didn't want people to find out I was English so I tried to disguise the accent and I think I nailed it but around the time I was leaving so when I go back to England everybody thought I was American so I stood out again but with both your hands being teachers you must have been an incredible student no Rick didn't none of it rubbed off on me no if I'd been a grit I'm not sure well speaking of myself I think if I'd been a great student I would not have ended up as an actor I think this was the last resort I couldn't do anything else school was not working out and saying I was going to be an actor when I was 14 was my excuse to be bad at math in chemistry and maybe your creative portion of your brain was so much more developed already at that point that that's the reason your consciousness was developing yeah you know you didn't call that creativity to go along but no I just you know I just probably just I was dreaming in chemistry I was I was mentally playing a guitar or you know I was just somewhere else all the farm to school when you we have to take a quick break and I'm the little kid okay and dream about having that sexy accent you got I really [Applause] they're my heaven thought he played action hero which we got concave benefits burger they write their motor problems [Applause] Kingsman the Secret Service and I just want to say to people at home I wish that you were all here so you could see what goes on during the commercials and I gotta say I love you in this movie love the movie and you play the one of the super elite of this spy organization and you're an impeccably dressed by your lethal so how did you prepare for this role because accent well when I met the director he knew that I wasn't not I was not likely casting he tells me not because I was right for the role but because I wasn't really he just said no one's going to vote if he was looking for the last person on earth who would have to be expected lethal and I actually thought that's interesting I mean that you know I guess you get the best done guys den and double for me and I look great you look for ya know you're not going to be in your trailer while this is going on this is going to be you this is why I'm telling you a year ahead so that we have a year for you to get from where you are now which is nowhere to being an expert so definitely said you going to hate me by the end of it the and sure enough their first month was misery there were 10 guys all the best in the world Jackie Chan's trainer Rhode Island we had root of verbo who's the six times high boxing world champion damien walters Olympic gold medalist of gymnastic Charles the Taekwondo Olympic coach and Ric English who's best at man in England and these guys were all there just to make me look like I start starting with a squat that was the first week Wow took one squat one I don't you show us one squat this is now the closed position even at the end of a days something I would sit down in front of the TV for a while and then getting out of the chair was a problem imagined I was this sort of super here and then how did you get out of a chair again and that then it was the somersaults and the throwing people because the the big fight sequence that you see in the middle of the film is a continuous single camera thing so it's all dependent on choreography so to dance yeah basically and you know I missed it when it was over I loved it by the end and frankly you know I thought it what I'll carry on doing this but for what I can't fight with these skills yeah and it's not really I mean if I'd someone took me on I'd have to try to dance them into submission [Applause] [Music] I'm Friday first everyone Oh
