[Music] good morning and shabbat shalom we send out a warm welcome to everyone who is here and everyone who is watching via Facebook live and YouTube and this morning we are studying Torah Perisher viola viola is Hebrew for and he sent meaning Yaakov sent ahead on his journey down south from Levens house to go back to his parents house he knew that he would encounter a Soph we say in the Hebrew he saw in the English his brother who had harbored in this anger against his brother for 34 years and Yaakov knowing this sent ahead certain messengers which we read in the Hebrew are maliki which means angels so they're not just any messengers they're messengers of the Most High now we often think about Yaakov and Esau this rivalry that they had from their earliest days in the womb of their mother one was for the Lord and the other was for anything against the Lord and the children would leap in the mother's womb depending on where she was at if it was close to the jerusalem temple Yaakov would leap this is where Melchizedek was teaching and Eber his son or his grandson but if she would go past a pagan temple of idol worship Esau would leave and she wondered what did this mean what are these because she at this time didn't know that she was having twins and it was explained to her that these are two children from which two different nations would come and there will always be rivals with each other and it's not that God predestined this but it's that the way we think determines not only our destiny but the future destiny of our children and the future generations and so in the core portion you see the story from Genesis 32 to Genesis 36 of Jacob coming back and getting ready to encounter Esau who had harbored anger for 34 years seven years he worked for Rachel seven years he worked for Leia six years he worked for his livestock and sheep but do you know before he even went up to Laban house he prepared for marriage by studying Torah did you know he studied Torah for 14 years with the Melchizedek in Salem Mulkey Tzadik the named Melchizedek means king of righteousness and he was a righteous priest and king that is pointing forward to Messiah who will reign from Jerusalem because Salem was the early name of yerushalaim and he studied 14 years before he ever even went up to Levens house so altogether you have thirty four years that Esau has been harboring this anger and this animosity against his brother and any anger and any negativity and any animosity or bitterness or unforgiveness that is held on to in our life that's not completely given up will manifest in cause-and-effect destructively in our life and in the life of our children and so what we do is in the synagogues all around the world today we're all reading and meditating on this Torah portion and what does it mean for us as the people the children of Jacob of children of Israel but also past present and future and so after the Torah portion is read it is tradition to read a section from the prophets that parallels the story that we read in the Torah in today's that's called the haftorah that ha par just means the section from the prophets whereas the Torah parashat means the section from the Torah that we read each Shabbat today for thousands of years they have paralleled Obadiah the Prophet Obadiah chapter 1 we read the whole chapter because he is prophesying down through the ages looking at the children of Jacob which have become the whole house of Israel not just Jews and Binger men who went to Babylon in exile but the northern ten tribes which were scattered north of the Euphrates by Assyria and who traveled through Europe and came to America and who have gone through the British Empire all over the world so you're talking about all of the descendants of Israel all of God's people who are seeking to glorify God and all that they see it say and do verses Esau's descendants which are symbolically called Edom and Esau had two wives if we don't have this smaller map here but Esau took remember two wives from the Hittites and the Hittites were a powerful nation that ruled the area of South East Turkey and their descendants became Rome and then because of his parents unhappiness about the wives that he took from heathen nations descendants of Homme he took a daughter of Ishmael now Ishmael was Abraham's son but it was through Hagar which was an Egyptian princess and when Abraham cast him out of his house where did she take him at 18 years old to go and find a wife but to the royal courts of Egypt where she was familiar and where she had prestige and so Ishmael actually married in Egyptian probably of royal status and so Ishmael's descendants would have been half Egyptian and half from the seat of Abraham so even though he's trying to rectify his wrong and marrying these two Hittite women whose descendants ended up persecuting the Jews and had hatred for the Jews just like their father is descended through Ishmael the daughter of Ishmael became the Islamic nations and specifically the Palestinians and so you have two issues that we see in prophecy in Daniel these two legs of iron both represent Rome but one is western Rome the papacy and one is eastern Rome the Ottoman Empire through which Islam came and both people have been persecutors of the children of Israel down through the ages because of this hatred of their forefather Esau and that's what you're going to see paralleled in this Torah portion we see on this map the route that Yaakov would have gone from better Shiva which is here he wouldn't have gone up and in Salem which is now Jerusalem is where Melchizedek who was teaching with Eber his grandson and they had kind of a yeshiva tour teaching Institute there 14 years he stayed there so that he'd be separate from Esau and his anger because his mother had told him you need to go up to her family in her on which is in the area of south east Lebanon and to find a wife from her family which was Rachel the one he fell in love with her father Laban it's interesting is where the Lebanon comes from the name Lebanon LaVon in Hebrew means white and it had to do with a lot of the cliffs and the rocks in that area but Lebanon and laven come from the same root word so when he's coming back the softs descendants ended up populating east of the valley here south of the Dead Sea all of this area was called Edom which is today Jordan and the have become the modern-day Palestinians but when he heard that Jacob is coming back home he came up with 400 of his men to kill Jacob to enact this wrath that he's held on to for 34 years and where do they meet right here by the jab upriver this is where Yaakov wrestled with the angel before crossing over and settling for time in Shechem and then coming back down to where his parents lived in Hebron at that time Isaac died at 180 years old a few years later and so this is the place of this conflict where Jacob's coming down Esau is coming forward and in when I taught the Torah portion I shared with you how he Maalik team which are angels to appease Esau's wrath in advance and these angels manifested themselves as four different army envoys of 500 men so if he saw had 400 the first time he sees 500 soldiers heavily equipped horses and Calvary and it says he was so scared that he literally fell off his horse he was shaking and he said who are you from what country you know are you is this huge army and they said we are jacob's servants and if it wasn't for Jacobs great love for you we would have wiped you out we would have killed you and so is in this way they appeased him then they went on and his 400 men continued to meet Jacob and the anger was rekindled because he didn't have true repentance he was only fearful for his life and another group of 500 came and said the same thing if it wasn't for your brother Jacob who loves you so much we would have wiped you out and so after meeting four of these groups of Calvary men warriors Esau's had a little more fear of the Lord in him that God was protecting his brother and if you turn with me in your Bibles to Genesis chapter 32 we'll look at a little bit of this parallel before going on to our haftorah and looking prophetically at what these descendants how they carry on this wrath and this anger of Esau we see it says Yaakov via schlock he sent mala keen messengers these are angels ahead of him to a saw of his brother toward the land of se air Edom which I just showed you on the map he said here is what you are to say to my lord so Jacob is giving him specific instructions when they encounter a saw his brother there to say Jacob your brother says my Lord this is showing jacob's humbleness in contrast to how Esau self exalts himself jacob is lowering himself and he's calling it esau basically i think when you read in hebrew it's out of me he's saying say to add an e which is similar to adonai means master a sob your servant Yaakov says I have been living with lavon and have been staying there till now this word in the Hebrew I have been staying with Laban is actually gets translated as so jurying it means that he never intended quran and Levens household to be his permanent residence he recognizes he is a son of Abraham and Isaac and it was just temporary that he was up there and this word sojourn in the Hebrew is guard T and gar T has a gamma tria every hebrew word if you're not familiar with Demetria in Hebrew every word is phonetic as well as pictorial as well as numerical so you get different deeper meanings by looking at the pictures of each of the letters as well as the numerical value and in Hebrew the sages would look at one word with a numerical value and look at another word with the same numerical value which is seemingly unrelated and they would draw a correlation because they know that everything is frequency everything in the universe is vibration and so the numerical value of a word it's frequency and it has a frequency similar to this other word but it's seemingly unrelated but it's supposed to teach us something deeper about this word and so this is how we study Torah and the Hebrew words deeper when you look at this word gar T he says I have sojourned it has a numerical value of 613 now what is significant about 613 there's 613 commandments in the scriptures in the Torah 613 mitzvot we call them in Hebrew and so what he is saying he's hinting he imagined the wisdom that all these men had that you could say one word and it would give a clue to that receiver that you're saying something much deeper by using the word gar T to say that I have only sojourned with Jacob these twenty last 20 years he's basically saying even though I lived in a Gentile land I never lived like the Gentiles I have continued to keep the commandments and there's a few models that I want to bring out in this story before we go on to the prophetic haftorah looking at Jacob as a model for us just like Esau was a model but a wrong model to his descendants of anger and bitterness Jacob there's many beautiful qualities of Jacob that we can use as examples for our lives as the children of Jacob today not only are we foreigners in a foreign land we are sojourning here you shouldn't think of America as your end destination God has an inheritance for you back in the Land of Israel and you will be restored back to that land in the Messianic age when he comes but while we're in the nations how should we live like father Jacob lived in the Gentile lands as an exile keeping the commandments of God and this is why he's restoring tour to us preparatory before we returned back to the land of our inheritance just like Jacob was on his way back after having kept all Commandments that he could keep in that land for those twenty years seven plus seven plus six he was up there in the land of Iran which is Lebanon and so this is a beautiful model for us in how to live where we're at there's an also in a model and how he chose to deal with Esau preparing through these messengers for his encounter with Esau we see wisdom he starts off with prayer he's searching his heart and he's making sure that there's no unknown sin or Unforgiven sin he's wondering did what I did with Esau back you know 34 years ago was that a sin was how I have worked with Laban have I done anything wrong because if we've done anything wrong how can we expect God to be our protector how can we expect miracles to happen if we're living in sin so he was really preparing himself through prayer and fasting before even this encounter there's three things he actually did though in this preparing to meet Esau not only prayer but he used gifts he sent gifts on ahead huge gifts to appease Esau his wrath knowing that Esau was material focused and that he was focused more on the material blessing that he had lost he keeps giving Esau back all the material things that he has acquired he'd started doing this even when he went up to Laban his son le Fay's had met him up there sent by his father to kill him and take up gave all of this blessings that isaac had given him to go and take as a dowry for a wife up in Iran so this is the second time that he's trying to appease Esau through gifts and or what you can call tribute so when we're dealing with our enemies we could learn from that sometimes it's better to make peace whatever we have to do let go of our material things if somebody's material focused the Scriptures tell us that as far as possible be at peace with all men and this is what rabbi Showell Paul in English he was a head rabbi and he taught as far as possible be at peace where did he learn that principle from father Jacob and if we have to appease people through gifts or through a little wisdom we should be willing to do that let go of material things to make peace the third thing that he prepared for was battle if the first two don't work then I have to protect my family and in Torah life Trump's all pairing for battle but how do we prepare for real battle it's not about the physical and not about how much weapons we can amass it's about it's a spiritual warfare that we're in the New Testament tells us that we're fighting not a battle of flesh and blood but of principalities and powers to be so every day were to put on the armor of God which is not the armor of a Roman soldier but the armor of the high priest the helmet of salvation is the turban that the high priest wore that is the the helmet of some of salvation in Hebrew that word is yahushua it is god's son so it's like having that mind which was in Christ in us also that mind of peace that mind of selflessness that mind of love we prepare for battle by having the breastplate of righteousness the belt of truth our feet are shod with the gospel of peace and the preparation of the good news and we have the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God this is how we really prepare for battle instead of thinking carnally and trying to protect ourselves physically we shouldn't worry about what happens to the body but we should worry more about our soul and our right place with God and so Jacobs example of Prayer and appeasement and preparing for battle is a model that we can follow today it says that he has been living sojourning with lovin for such a time until now and he has cattle and donkey and flocks of sheep and male and female servants he says I'm sending to tell this news to my Lord in order to win your favor the messengers returned to Yaakov saying we went to your brother Asaf and he is coming to meet you and with him are four hundred men Yaakov then became greatly afraid and distressed and he divided the people the flocks and the cattle and the camels with him into two camps saying if they solve comes to the one camp and attacks it at least the camp that his left will escape Ben Yaakov said in prayer God of my father Abraham and God of my father yet sack Adonai who told me to return to my country with my kinsmen and you promised to do me good I'm not worthy of all the love and faithfulness you have shown your servant since I crossed the Jordan with only my staff but now I have become two camps please rescue me from my brother a sob I'm afraid of him I'm afraid he'll come and attack me without regard for the mothers and children you said and this is a model for prayer sometimes we have to remind God not because he forgets but because he loves to hear that we have received his word and that we believe it so we quote scripture and promises that he has made to us and to all the descendants of Israel in our prayers and we it's not a reminder but we speak out God's Word his promises he says you have said I will certainly do you good and make your descendants as numerous as the grains of the sand by the sea which are so many that can't be counted so here in his prayer he's claiming the promise that he first gave Abraham and then he confirmed with Isaac and then he also gave to Jacob that your descendants will be as many as the sands of the sea and the stars of the heavens that couldn't have happened if Israel's descendants had just stayed in this little area of Israel the Israel's enemies would have targeted them and wiped them out completely but God had a plan even by scattering them around the world that they could multiply and truly fulfill that unfortunately Esau's descendants are also multiplying that they're multiplying with the hatred and the anger and the bitterness and the animosity that their forefather a sath have had so here we see that Jacob had a little trepidation even though he knew he was righteous even though he knew he was right with God do you know it said that a righteous man is never sure of himself because in humbleness we're always searching our heart we're always seen is there some way that I'm I've acted selfishly or I've lived outside of the character of God or I've broken one of his Commandments you're always kind of keeping yourself in check and so this fear that it mentions Jacob has he was really searching his heart and we should be searching our heart every day as we are coming to the end of the age and we know it's prophesied that God's people will be persecuted once again in the end of the age should we have any fear of what man can do no but what we should fear is are we out of place or out of harmony with God is there anything that I'm doing this making a separation between me and the divine source isaiah 59:2 says thy sins have made a separation between you and your God this is why it seems that he doesn't hear your prayers another place in Proverbs says the prayers of the person who doesn't follow Torah are like an abomination to the Lord so all these things show that our prayer life and our connection with the divine are affected by how closely we follow the law of selfless love from His Word now if we look at this parallel between Jacob and Esau and we go to Obadiah 1 we're gonna see some amazing prophecies of the end of the age it actually covers quite a span of history because it hints at Rome's persecution against Edom and God's displeasure with what Rome has done you know there was so much bloodshed when Rome ruled over Israel and they destroyed the temple and it was prophesied by Isaac who blessed both his sons into the blessing to Esau he said you will rule with the sword and his descendants really have fulfilled that blessing Rome was known to rule with an iron thumb and it was during the bronze age when all of their swords were made from iron and they really did rule and kill the descendants of Jacob with the sword but then this prophecy of Obadiah 1 is also going to go from Edom representing Rome and then talk about the in time persecuting power against God's people which is Islam and talk about God's judgment against them so let's turn to Obadiah chapter 1 and we see that in this chapter the subject is God's wrath against Edom and Edom is the symbolic name of Esau as descendants and it goes throughout history all the way to the messianic age when Messiah comes and we might ask ourselves of all the Torah portions most of them are in Isaiah some in Jeremiah why was Obadiah chosen for this message this prophecy of the end of the age to cover he saw as descendants persecuting Israel's descendants well Esau it is said by our sages was a descendant of an Edomite convert to Judaism so in Ezra chapter 8 verse 9 it talks about who Obadiah his father was and his grandfather then somewhere along the line they must have married a woman who was a convert to Judaism and so he's got this mixture in him so what a perfect person to give this message because just like I have descendants who are from the Northern Kingdom but I also have descendants who are from Judah it kind of uniquely qualifies you to bring two people together or to speak to two different groups and Obadiah is speaking both to Israel and to eat them he was also a protector of God's people and God is giving prophecies about how his people will be protected in the end of the days do you know Obadiah worked for King Ahaz a hub and Jezebel it was during that time of Elijah and Jezebel was killing all of God's true prophets and she had 450 prophets of mail who she was trying to promote bail worship to Israel and Obadiah was able to save a hundred prophets of yah in caves and so this is another reason why God chose him to give this message to in time Israel who will be protected when the descendants of Esau are coming against them he also remained righteous even though he was between these two figures of wickedness a haven't Jezebel he's kind of in between he was a porky heir he worked right in the royal courts and yet he was able to stay righteous just like Jacob was able to stay righteous up in the Gentile land of Iran Obadiah stayed righteous even though being torn between these two wicked rulers and on the converse we see Esau he was raised by two righteous people Isaac and Rebekah we say Rivka and the Hebrew and yet he did just the opposite he's surrounded by two righteous people and he chooses not to learn the ways of Abraham Isaac his forefathers and his life reflects that and his descendants reflect that you see this juxtaposition this contrast between Obadiah and Esau but this similarity with Jacob so as I was thinking about why Obadiah would be the mouthpiece for this message these things I think away beautifully as we read this prophecy Obadiah one says this is the vision of Avadh Yahoo is how we say it in Hebrew here is what adonai elohim says about Edom as a messenger which in this case it's not like the messenger that Jacob sent Jacob sent messengers which Ramallah kiemce which are angels this is a different hebrew word which means more like a political envoy what is Edom sending around the world instead of sending angels to bless people and to make peace they're sitting sending messengers to sway the minds of men against Israel and they're trying to turn everybody against Israel and they're saying Israel has told our land Palestine is ours they're unlawfully occupying our land all of these things and they're building a patreon subtly throughout the nations through the the UN and through their messengers that they're sending so there's this little contrast between islas type of messengers and Jacobs types of messengers it says that Edom sent his messengers he's envoy amongst the nation saying come on let us attack her we heard a message from adonai so what is their message come on everybody let's attack Israel and we see that this was prophesied that this would happen in Psalms 83 David gives a prophecy that the descendants of Esau called Edom and the descendants of Ishmael which are Arabs would come together in one Accord in the last days and they would say come on let's wipe them off the map in Psalms 83 it says in verse 5 they say come let's wipe them out as a nation this is so similar to what Obadiah prophesied that they would say what's amazing is David had prophesied this four hundred years before so here's a double prophecy that the descendants of Esau are going to retain this hatred against the descendants of Esau and they're gonna their message is gonna be come on let's wipe them out let's take them out as a nation let the name of Israel be remembered no more it says in verse five with one mind they plot their schemes and they've made a covenant against you the tents of Edom and Ishmael along with Moab and haggarium now Moab is modern-day Jordan haggarium are the descendants of Hagar which was Ishmael's mother and where was she from Egypt so this is telling you the Egyptians are which I have now been controlled by the Islamic Brotherhood are going to come together in this one Accord against Israel in the last days along with Jordan Duvall Ammon hamon is also Jordan Amalek and Phyllis dia Phyllis dia is modern-day Gaza so if I put this back up here I don't know if you can see but this little strip right here is agent Phyllis dia and now we call it Gaza but this is where Hamas sends their rockets from to bomb innocent women and children I've been right here in stay wrote right on the border and seen the Rockets coming three times a day and they tie them you know to get the majority of the people when they're picking up their children from school bombing school yards and what does Hamas mean in Hebrew violence and so they're continuing this violence that Esau started because he was prophesied to rule by the sword and sword is just a weapon they're still using weaponry today David prophesied that they would all come together against Israel along with those living in Azure Asher too is allied with them who did Asher become Assyria which is modern-day Syria so what he's describing in this one chapter is all of the Islamic factions they've never before been unified but in the last days they will be unified with one agenda their hatred against the descendants of Israel and especially those who have started to reclaim the land the inheritance that God promised Abraham the original inheritance that God promised Abraham was from the Euphrates River in the north all the way down to the Nile and that has never been inhabited fully by the descendants of Israel but it will be in the Messianic age so going back to Obadiah we see that this is nothing new right off the bat he says what their mantra is what their call is come on let's attack them so how'd a nice says I because of that and making you Islam the least of all nations because your focus is against your brother because your focus is hatred you will be beneath contempt your proud heart has deceived you you whose homes are caves in the cliffs and who live on the heights you say to yourself who can bring us down to the ground even if you made a nest as high as an Eagles even if you place it amongst the stars I will bring you down from there since the Lord now why did he mention this about them living in cliffs was because in between the time that Edom became recognized as Rome in Islam they were living in that area east of the Dead Sea where Jordan is and in Jordan is this very rocky place called Petra and it was built by an ancient civilization but the descendants of Esau ended up in happening it after they had left and there was already the holes carved out in the rocks and temples and places friend this is where the descendants of Esau lived so he's actually calling them out specifically even where they're at in this day he says if thieves were to come to you or refers by night oh how destroyed you would be wouldn't they stop though if they had stolen enough if grape pickers came to you wouldn't they leave some grapes for gleaning but see how Esau has been looted their secret treasures totally searched out your allies went with you only to the border those at peace with you deceived and defeated you those who ate your food set a trap for you and you couldn't discern it when that day comes says ad and I won't I destroy all the wise men of Edom what day is he talking about when he says when that day comes the judgement of Edom will be at the time of the judgement of all the rest of the wicked you know in Isaiah from Isaiah 15 16 17 I think even 18 it talks about different cities and the judgment that will fall upon them when Messiah comes and these are all cities who have turned against Israel and so a lot of times people will just talk about this one famous one in Isaiah 17 about Damascus and they're looking for Damascus to be destroyed which is in modern-day Syria but that's just one of many different chapters and cities and their judgments this is a judgment on Edom speaking of not just to a city but to a whole group of people who have aligned themselves with one mind and one hatred against the children of Israel he says in verse nine your warriors tame men will be so distraught where's Damon today Jordan that everyone on Mount Esau will be slaughtered for the violence that you have done to your kinsmen your family of Jacob he says so these Haas judgment it's not arbitrary punishment by God it's cause and effect because in the laws of the universe there is the law of cause and effect that which a man says he shall also reap so if you are a persecutor you'll end up being persecuted or if you're a killer you'll end up being killed even Yeshua said that he who lives by the sword will die by the sword and it's not God doing it it's just cause and effect this phrase of mount Esau it's prophetic because a mount in Bible prophecy we see in Daniel a mount is representing a kingdom do you remember the statue that Nebuchadnezzar saw in the end in the days of the toes mixed with iron and clay there would be a rock cut without human hands that would come from heaven and smite the image and destroy all the kingdoms of the earth and it would become a mountain it says covering the earth which represents the kingdom of Messiah in the Messianic age four thousand years so a mount is a kingdom and Esau represents Islam so really what he's saying here is everyone that's a part of the kingdom of Islam it's not gonna make it this is a prophetic very serious prophesy against those who have harbored hatred against God's beloved children he says for the violence and this word is Hamas and we just talked about Hamas here for the violence done to your kinsmen for the Hamas done to your kinsmen Yaakov shame will cover you and you will be forever cut off on that day you stood aside while strangers carried off his treasure so when Israel was attacked by foreign nations whether it was Assyria or whether it was Nebuchadnezzar Esau is right on the other side of the Jordan River and he could have come and helped his brother but they stood back and they laughed while Israel was being plundered and God is remembering what they have done he says on that day you stood aside while strangers carried off his meaning Israel's treasure and foreigners entered his gates and they cast lots for Jerusalem and just like what happened before casting Lots to split up or divide Jerusalem in the last days this is going to be the issue they are seeking to divide Jerusalem right now even as we speak and the United Nations wants to give East Jerusalem where the Holy Temple Mount and all of the old ancient holy artifacts give it to the Palestinians which is giving it to Islam in essence and Zechariah 14 prophesized that the city will be exiled and half that city will be kicked out of that area and houses will be plundered and so what has happened in the past we learn from history because it has a tendency to repeat itself and in prophecy it's hinting at that as well we also see that in Revelation verse 11 the prophecy that Jerusalem will be trodden under foot for 42 months in the last days that equals three and a half years of tribulation where they are taking Jerusalem unlawfully and so what do we do when we're faced with a situation like that fear could creep into our lives or animosity ourselves we could be angry for the ones who are angry against us but that's not going to solve any problems and that's not the way of God we have to follow Jacobs example of seeking peace and praying for our enemies we love everyone who is in Islam as a brother people don't realize that but we should be praying for their salvation we should be praying because individuals even though there's a corporate system that is corrupt whether you're talking about Roman Catholicism or whether you're talking about Islam we're never talking about the individuals individuals God cares for and he wants them to wake up and he wants them to repent and he wants them to come out and be unified as one family and so we should be praying with that mindset even though we can expose a false system of worship we're not exposing or dividing ourselves from the people we love the people and we should be praying for them for the prophecy says that anyone who does not repent they are going to be judged it says to Esau's descendants you shouldn't have gloated over your kinsmen on the day of their disaster they were gloating over israel's disaster when they were besieged in 606 BC by Nebuchadnezzar and then later at Nebuchadnezzar came back because Judah didn't pay its tribute and he sacked the city and they destroyed the temple and what did the do they laughed they rejoiced big loaded it says you shouldn't have spoken arrogantly on the day of trouble and if you go back to Psalms 83 verse 13 [Music] talks about how they spoke arrogantly David prophesied in verse 13 he said they said let's take possession of God's meadow for our self do you know the only place where God has placed his name in the world is Jerusalem says that in first chronicles 6 4 6 and so God's meadow are these Meadows below Jerusalem and when Israel was sacked by Nebuchadnezzar and by Assyria and people were taken away the gloated and what was the arrogant words that this prophecy and Obadiah hints at he they said let's take it for ourselves and that's what the Palestinians have done is they have taken Israel as their own and now they're trying to get the world against Israel saying that Israel is the usurper and Israel is the one who's unlawfully occupying see how they twisted around but God knows what they're doing and he's calling them out so that why does he do anything through his prophets the scripture says God does nothing unless he reveals his plans through his servants the prophets he's doing this because he cares about the people and he wants them to have time to repent so he gives a message in advance that if you don't change your ways if you keep harboring this anger this is going to be your end result this is gonna be the end judgment on you verse 13 goes on to say they entered the gate of my people on the day of their calamity no you shouldn't have gloated over there suffering on the day of calamity or laid hands on their treasure on the day of calamity you shouldn't have stood at the crossroads to cut down their fugitives now this is very similar to what Esau was doing here's the crossroads this is called the Kings Highway it comes all the way down now Jacob could have come all the way down and come to bear Eva below but it's easier to cross through the the Jordan Valley here so this is called considered the crossroads and Esau was coming up to meet him at the crossroads to cut him off and the same way that this is used metaphorically to Esau's descendants seeking to cut off Israel he says you shouldn't have stood at the crossroads to cut down their fugitives or handed over their survivors on a day of trouble for the day of Adonai is near for all nations this day of Adonai is the day of the Lord this is the day of messiahs coming the day that we'll be on the day of trumpeting Paul says the Lord shall descend with a shout and the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God this happens at a specific time and this is when judgment will come to the nation's he says for the day of the Lord is near for all nations as you did it will be done to you there's the principle your dealings will come back to you on your own head another way of saying that is whatever a man sows that shall he also reap for justice you have drunk on my holy mountain and in prophecy drinking wine is symbolic of blood shed just like the woman in Revelation she rides the Beast it says she's drunk on the blood of the saints so what this means is they have killed a lot of people up on his holy mountain now whose occupation today there's a Dome of the rock called all osku mosque right and Israel even though they could have taken back control of it in 1967 they gave control over to Jordanian authorities called the WASC and so they still are preventing the worship of the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob on that mountain God has seen all of the bloodshed that's happened on that mountain when the temple was destroyed it says so will all nations drink and turn yes they will drink and gulp it down as if they had never existed it's very serious language but on Mount Zion there will be a holy remnant so it goes from this extreme persecution against God's people to now this beautiful prophetic sight of God's Holy Ones there will be a holy remnant and a remnant isn't the whole a remnant is usually a few that are left over what happens to the whole many of them are killed through those 42 months that revelation talks about the Jerusalem is trodden under foot there's people that will be martyred and persecuted all over the world but there will be a holy remnant a group that is left to testify and witness for 42 months in Jerusalem and it says [Music] on my holy mountain there will be a holy remnant who xscape and the house of jacob will repossess their rightful inheritance this is God speaking so now we're the descendants of Israel were given not just the land but the place where God placed his name to worship God that other people have stolen away from them he will give it back to them this is a messianic prophecy this is stuff that most people don't talk about because it's not politically correct it's an inconvenient truth for many and yet we must understand what is going to take place because Messiah is going to reign from Jerusalem he's going to rebuild the temple of God and he's going to teach Torah Isaiah 2 says the Torah shall stream forth from Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem this is speaking of this day that he will at the time of the resurrection restore to all of the house of Israel their rightful inheritance in the land the house of Jacob will be a fire and the house of Yosef a flame setting a flame and consuming the stubble which is in the house of Esau so you can see this parallel and why Obadiah was chosen to parallel the story of the San Tomas City between Esau towards Jacob the house of Jacob will be a fire what does that mean you know Daniel talks about the righteous how they will blaze like the sons their righteousness will shine forth another way of saying it is I Israel is a light they're so bright The Closer that we get to living out yaws selfless love the higher our vibrational frequency and at some point that begins to manifest as light and so this is symbolic of that righteousness none of the house of Esau will remain and this goes for both major world religions that came from Esau's loins from Rome Western Rome comes the Roman Catholic Church and from eastern Rome the Ottoman Empire and Islam the prophecy says that that system a false worship will not remain for ad and I has spoken those in the megive will repossess the mountains of Esau so once again we have to look on our map where is the Negev this is the 'no give the desert in the south of israel and here's where you saw inhabited and so what it's saying is that all of those that used to only possess this part of the desert will also possess this part of the desert now if you look at the prophecy that says that God gave Abraham the land from the Euphrates down to the Nile which is over here it's much bigger than what's on this map and much bigger than the State of Israel today it encompasses Lebanon and Syria parts of Turkey Saudi Arabia Yemen parts of Egypt parts of Iraq even it goes all the way the Euphrates River goes from Turkey all the way down to the Persian Gulf so imagine everything underneath that being inhabited by the descendants of Israel who are supposed to be as numerous as the sands of the sea and so now this prophecy is basically saying after Edom is no more because of their hatred against Israel they're wiped out and their land is going to be inhabited by the children of Israel it's going to expand basically he says those in the megive will possess the mountains of Esau he saw possessed Petra and these mountains over here in Jordan and those in the shephelah that the ship follows a hebrew word which means the lowland and this is the lowest land in the world if the Dead Sea is how many feet below sea level yeah so oh great and that's showing the route of of Jacob so that's a good depiction if it's clear enough for you to see the Euphrates River it's coming down here or was this far down the Euphrates so Abraham would have come up and over and into Israel this way but her on where Jacob went is just here so he didn't go quite so far down but all of this area is going to be Israel in the Millennial Kingdom and he goes on to say those in the lowland and those in Galicia which is Gaza will repossess the fields of Ephraim and so Ephraim's inheritance is up here beautiful fields where there's vineyards even today that's what we call the West Bank which they're trying to kick Israel out of also so you see all these places where they've kicked Israel out of God is prof. sign that they will Rhian have it it's pretty amazing how accurate this has been to current political affairs he says an the field of show Marone and Benjamin will occupy Gilad those from this army of the people of Israel exiled among the Canaanites as far away as Tsar five now we get really into some interesting history but you have to understand the ancient words you know how cities sometimes change over time their name or depending on who occupies them the language will change so it's our fought is a word that connotates France the Jews that migrated after 70 AD and after the temple was destroyed followed the northern kingdom up into Europe and Ashkenazi's you probably heard of Ashkenazi Jews they settled in the Rhine Valley that's where our descendants come from south east france and southwest germany and so this is a word that the speaks of that it's our v even the Ashkenazi will come back and it's going to talk about the shofar team as well in the next verse and exiled from Jerusalem that are in Shefford now where was she fard that's the ancient word for Spain and the Spaniards then ended up going to the new world to escape the persecution by Queen Isabella and Prince Ferdinand in 1492 and so they're intermingled within the whole of the Hispanic countries in Central and South America and Mexico these are Sephardic Jewish bloodlines and you know you can recognize a chef Artic family if it's descendant from the father's any name and there's more than just this but this is just a good example any Spanish name that ends in easy is Sephardic Jewish and you see like Chavez and Ramirez and so many Hispanic names that come down that's just giving you a little clue as to your identity and your heritage from chef hard but this word Saar fought it's interesting that it has AG amat ria of 770 and there was an old rabbi who was thinking about what other words do we know that has 770 as its frequency as its total and he realized in Genesis 28 14 the word blue parkansas which is the word that God prophesied that Israel would spread to the north and to the south to the east and the West this word spread you will spread literally has the same gamma tria as where they spread to so the Ashkenazi Jewish word zaphod actually has the same gamma tria as you will spread and sure enough they did have to spread out and this is just mentioning those from both lines of Judah Ashkenazi and Sephardic will be returned to the land and it says they will repossess the cities in the Negev speaking of chef our team what's interesting that in Spain it's quite warm and then where they migrated to other warm places like Central and South America and Mexico you think about how many people are living in very dry lands and how they know how to cultivate agriculture in dry lands who's better prepared to inhabit than to give and turn it back into a garden because the prophecy says it will be turned back into a garden but the people of Chef are the Hispanic Spanish people this is your inheritance [Music] then he says then the victorious will ascend to Mount Zion Mount Zion is in Jerusalem to rule over Mount Esau so if we interpret Mount Esau to mean those who are taking mountain Zion by force which is the kingdom of Islam now he's basically saying the tables are going to be turned in the Millennial Kingdom he says the victorious will ascend Mount Zion to rule over Mount Esau but the kingship will belong to Adonai he is our king and he's going to be reigning through mashiac and this is the day that we look forward to these prophecies that are here are not alone as we looked at Psalms 83 confirm them we always look for a double witness in Scripture so that way we're not taking something out of context you want to understand from the Torah and the prophets and the writings of David the whole of the scriptures do they say the same thing is there a double witness and by the witness of two or more in Scripture a matter is always to be confirmed this is why nobody could ever be held accountable in court unless they had two witnesses or more and so we even look in Scripture for a double witness and Psalms 83 is a double witness but that's not all also Ezekiel chapter 25 speaks of the same judgment on Edom as a triple witness of the judgment that's coming upon Edom at messiahs return and so in closing if you just want to take a look at that to make yourself familiar with it let's see how Ezekiel prophesized the same thing [Music] Ezekiel chapter 25 [Music] verse 12 says out of my Elohim says because Edom has taken severe vengeance against the house of Judah so here once again the issue is Esau and his vengeance against the descendants of Jacob there's judgment coming to him he says he's incurred much guilt by its acts of vengeance against them therefore out of nigh Elohim says I will stretch my hand out / eat them and eliminate both it's humans and animals and I will make it a ruin from teman which is in Jordan to Dayton which is down in Saudi Arabia they will die by the sword moreover I will lay my vengeance on Edom through my people Israel they will treat Edom in accordance with my great wrath and they will know my vengeance says that and I Elohim and then he speaks about those in Gaza because of Gaza has acted out of vengeance also and taken revenge and destroying with malice of heart due to their long-standing hatred this is the whole issue with Esau if he could have rectified this long-standing hatred in his life his descendants wouldn't have continued to harbor it but this is how powerful it is if we don't become overcomers it's like our children and even the script the commandment says that unto the third and fourth generation of those that hate me he says he will visit the iniquities to the third and fourth generation it comes down through our lineage and so we have to be so careful to purify our lives and our minds and our thinking's only be peacemakers only live out selfless love because whatever sins we're harboring in our life gets passed on into the next generations and so it Gaza and the Palestinians there have held on to this long-standing hatred as well therefore verse 16 says Adonai Elohim says I will stretch my hand over them as well and eliminate the kratie in other word for Gaza and destroy the rest of the Seacoast people I will execute great vengeance on them with furious punishments and they will know that I am Adonai when I lay my vengeance on them and of course everything in the scriptures is talking about God taking credit for it but its cause and effect God doesn't have to punish anyone nor does he punish anyone it's not a part of his character his character is life and love but what happens within the laws of the universe is we reap what we sow there is cause and effect and when a prophet speaks they always speak in that first-hand person as if God's doing it especially in ancient world because they didn't even understand what Satan was doing behind the scenes and his destructive work they without a knowledge of Satan attributed everything to God good evil light darkness life death and so this is why even job's servant when fire came down from heaven and destroyed their household what did the servants say job fire came down from heaven makes us sound like it's from God and destroyed your household but we know from the rest of the story that it was Satan behind the scenes and so even though I just want to clarify that so that you don't get a wrong image of God's character it's using this first-person type of language in reference to the judgment that's falling upon those who are harboring hatred but it's not God doing that destructive work because you know self if it's left to itself will be self-destructive that is its nature God is imparting life to us and it's His grace that by His grace that we're even living while we are harboring sin because Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death it doesn't say the wages of an angry wrathful god of vengeance nothing like that the wages of sin is death and what is sin first John 3:4 says sin is the transgression of the Torah now if the Torah is the law of love how to love God and how to love your man fellow man then sin is just anything that is not in harmony with selfless love that's why sin always finds its origin in self seeking self exaltation self focused self gratification anything selfish is diametrically opposed to that which is selfless if God is selfless then anytime I'm acting selfish through my ego I'm separating myself from him and I will reap what I sow and that selfishness will end up becoming self-destructive if left to itself and that's what the wrath of God really is in Romans 1:26 it says and verse 24 and I think verse 16 as well he says this is the wrath of God that God gives people over to the lust of their flesh that means he allows them to experience the cause and effect of their actions now it looks like the wrath of God as people say why is this happening to me but it's cause and effect and God just finally allowed them to experience after so many years the cause and effect of their actions which he had been through His grace preventing the fullness of up to that point and this is what Edom is going to experience the cause and effect of thousands of years of hatred against God's children what God is calling Esau as descendants to is to repent and be grafted in to the family Romans 11 says everybody can be grafted in to the family and the family is the 12 tribes of Israel whether you are a from the nation's or whether you are a descendant of an ancient brother who's harboring anger there is good news God wants to save each and every one but if we resist that if we rebo against that we are going to reap what we sow and the more animosity and the more violence that we express in our lives and the more force and the more manipulation and coercion we will reap what we sow and so we look forward to that day that Messiah will come and that all those who have grafted themselves into Israel will find an inheritance in the land just as if they were a native-born citizen of the land and can you imagine that day when you won't have to question and filter out is somebody telling me the truth is this deception like we do with so many teachers we have to always be good Bereans and tested according to the Scriptures and in that day imagine when Messiah Yeshua will be speaking out these laws of love on a whole nother level just like he did in his first coming he says you have heard it said you shall not hate your brother or you shall not kill but I say to you anyone who even hates his brother in his heart has committed murder he took the law of love to a whole nother level how much more than that Millennial Kingdom will he be teaching us the laws of how to love one another as well as loving God because in loving one another in which his Spirit dwells we truly show our love for God this is why first John 4:8 says anyone who says he loves God and yet hates his brother is a liar there is no love in him and so let us be lovers of our brothers even while we understand the prophecies and even not why we understand the things that are going to come our whole focus should be on emulating the character of God in our lives because he says by beholding we will become changed into that same likeness if we look at Esau we will only Harbor more hatred and anger and resentment if we keep our eyes on the source our heavenly father we will see only unconditional love and things might collapse around us and we might go through horrible times of persecution or tribulation but what did David say a thousand might fall at thy hand and ten thousand at thy right hand but it will not come nigh thee God will protect you and his love is the answer to walk you right into eternal life not at some point in the future but even right now we can start applying that principle and start walking right into eternity by applying the eternal principles of his selfless love immediately with that let's close and we'll go right into our lunch table a father we thank you for revealing to us your plans and your purposes and what the outcome of harboring any anger or unforgiveness is we only hurt ourselves when we hold on to grudges or long-standing hatred and we repent father taking to heart even this message about Esau's descendants and how they've carried down through the ages the hatred of their father against his brother Jacob and their descendants are hating Jacobs descendants but we all in different ways have had wrongs done to us and we have to be accountable we have to experience radical forgiveness and we have to make sure that we're not harboring any bitterness or unforgiveness against anyone so that we can be totally free to shine like the Sun of righteousness the selfless love that you have displayed Father for us to emulate this is the true answer for us being overcomers and being called the sons and daughters of the Most High God so we thank you Father for showing us both sides and for showing us examples of cause and effect so that we might learn and prepare accordingly we love you we thank you we pray for the whole house of Israel and all the lands of their dispersion and we pray for all those who have not come to a realization of how much you love them yet and anyone in the world who whether they're in Islam or wherever they're at if they could see the light of your love father yeah and sometimes the only way they can see it is through us so help us to remember that we are examples and we want as you want everyone to be saved and everyone to have come into a knowledge of the truth of your selfless love and so we thank you for using us in this capacity father and we ask a blessing upon everyone here and everyone who is studying your word and preparing for your coming Kingdom we ask for peace to be upon Jerusalem Shalu Shalom Yerushalayim as David said we must pray for the Peace of Jerusalem for we know this is the apple of your eye and yet it is the epicenter of prophetic fulfillment in the last days as well and so we pray for them we pray for the physical food now that we are about to receive and we thank you for the fellowship that we can share as one body in Yeshua and your Holy Name we pray amen you
