[Music] if you see a clay pan like this with gravel sitting on it and you're just walking over it you're probably walking away from a very easy gold deposit these big wide floodplains are often overlooked simply because it's very hard to track the gold down but there's one exception and that is if you have thick sticky clay like i have underneath me here clay works exactly like bedrock the gold can't get through it because it's too dense and it's so sticky it just sticks on it if you see gravel just like this stuff here sitting on top of this clay there's a good chance that underneath the gravel there's a layer of gold [Applause] there's no gold in the clay at all we're just scraping the top centimeter of clay and soil mixed together off the top and that's where all of our gold is contained and what we're looking for across these clay pans are things like these big rocks which act like an obstruction slow the water down a little bit and that's where you get the really big accumulations of gold let's go wash this dirt and see how much we get [Applause] that's a lot of black sand so we are probably in the right spot that is a heap of tin so we are in a good position to find gold there's our gold that is a good spec count so we have easy 50 pieces of catchable gold and you know i don't even know how much micro but it's enough to warrant high banking using a high banker is definitely the most efficient way i have available to me to process dirt the problem is i have a short length of hose and i can't get the high bank up to that payload which is probably 50 to 60 meters behind me so i'm gonna have to bucket it here it's not ideal don't tear me apart in the comments i know [Applause] that is a lot of dirt for one bucket so i'm gonna have to pick this thing up and just see how much paint i'm in for this is gonna suck [Applause] [Applause] two down heaps to go farmer's walks so in between bucket runs i'm turning the pump back down to idle what i don't want to happen is the black sands in that sluice box to become compacted so hard that nothing new can settle into them if you turn your pump off they will solidify like cement so i just leave it on idle and that way everything stays nice and fluid i ran eight buckets from that first spot where we're getting 50 a pan that was quite a rich spot but now we're all out of gravel in that section so we have to do a test panning our first pan showed 13 specks of gold which is okay but we're going to do a few more to see if we can't hunt up something that's a little bit better and to say we loaded the box with black sand is an understatement it might be next to impossible to see this but there is gold in these top riffles which is an awesome sign [Music] so there was no gravel in that it was just sand which makes for easy digging if there's gold and two pieces plus two micros is not gonna cut it please yeah good girl oh all right well it's not as good as the first spot but that's way better than the last two pans we're going to be able to catch them and it's way closer to the high banker let's dig it's got water in it that's heavy [Music] [Music] so [Music] got 14 buckets done and the petrol pump is just about to run out of fuel so we're going to turn it off and see what we get oh mama oh man this is going to take a long time to do the cleanup might be tricky to see but there is a piece of gold just at the end of my finger there and we're seeing little pieces all through the black sand but again they're tiny that's just what reedy creek gold is victory [Applause] because the golden ready creek is so flat and the tin is so dense you can never really do a proper reveal i can only shake it back and have to take this home and put it through the blue bowl to clean it up properly look at the amount of shotgun pellets we got man mama mia but there is some of the gold just from the top piece of miners moss 14 buckets worth of that padre is the equivalent to 84 pans that is a lot of hand panning so it's much quicker to do it this way it's only taken us about an hour to get through that much [Applause] this is the mat that sits underneath the top pieces miners moss and sometimes it collects a little bit sometimes you get to see that little bit yeah a bit of a starry night there look at that that's just sitting on that tiny piece of moss so i think we're going to be in for a real good cleanup today this gravel is from really close to the high banker only maybe 10 meters or so away so if there's decent gold in this we're getting the dirt from there because my muscles hurt [Applause] if we get 10 specks of pan i would be pretty happy we've got some coarse black sand so that's a positive oh we are probably close to that one two three four five six seven eight nine about nine oh it's borderline we'll try and run ten buckets from here it's a fair amount of gold in those metal riffles holy crap that's cool uh but we've stopped we've done 14 buckets and the mats have turned black if you're dealing with tin casita right which is tin or like we are here it's it's really important you check tailings and it's really important you pay attention to your mat we're getting losses in our tailings three to five specs at the moment which means that our mats are full and the tin isn't staying agitated to let anything heavy through so we've got to clean it out or we're going to blow out more and more gold really important you check those things once again i've got my cat pan because all of this needs to go through the blue bowl after it's been classified at home but we're going to just see what's in that top piece because it looked freaking good remembering this is from the top miners moths and we have a lot more to clean up at home look at that that's what we were talking about golden smile and a half [Applause] well i'm gonna get the rest of this loose cleaned up and take it home and then i gotta run it through the blue bowl so i guess i will see you at home i have a small fly problem at home because we ran 28 buckets we ended up with a lot of concentrate so i have to run it through the blue bowl and this is our plus 50 mesh under 30 mesh and over here is our under 50 mesh the first and only thing you really need to know about reedy creek heavy black sands is that they're made from considerate and considerate is tin ore it's extremely heavy and non-magnetic so i cannot remove any of it with a magnet and that means i've got to use something like this to make the process tolerable all right here we go and yeah these these blue balls just take a long time to run but they take less time they're hand painting [Music] while the blue ball does its thing over there i've come over here and started hand panning down the oversized and we're looking for gemstones just like that one get into the sunlight look at that little blue sapphire any larger pieces of gold that may be in there which i highly doubt and there actually is well i'll be stuffed there's a couple of nice flakes of gold in there very next pan and that is a nice chunk look at that that's a great piece of gold for reading and at the end of the day that's our oversized gold shotgun pellets and the one sweet little sapphire we found because i don't have a -100 mesh classifier i found that it usually gets to this point and i can't shift the black sand out of the gold without losing significant amounts of gold so at this point i'm literally going to suck this up and i have to hand pan it right before we weigh up the gold i just wanted to remind you about the description below where you're going to find links to competitions as well as all my other social media and merch store where you can pick up a sweet hat t-shirt or hoodie right on with the weigh-in well here it is all the gold i got out of that clean up next to a clash guitar's pick for a little bit of scale that little sapphire that's adorable i actually live streamed the rest of that cleanup on my facebook page and i've left a link in the description below i've got my scales all teared up and man that line of gold is looking tasty here we go there's a fair amount of flood gold in that i reckon point seven six oh point nine two four point nine two four grams of gold is worth seventy dollars and six cents at the time of recording which is incredibly good for just 28 buckets i don't want to go back there with a wheelbarrow or a longer set of hoses so i can get right next to that painter and shovel until there is none left because we could have a multiple gram day that was barely an hour and a half's run time thank you so much for watching please give your dog a scratch behind your ears for me peace and i'm out
