you'll find this one as if not more interesting than the last two they're from plenty of instances in the past a pokemon completely changing color some great examples i've covered before being programs red accents now being orange or glog are being a few different colors depending on the fourth gem game you're playing but here are some I haven't shown Sneasel and golden silver instead of being a dark blue with red was a brown shade with light blue accents which was very fitting for the ice typing also would have made a much cooler shiny form in my opinion this lasted until Christel where Sneasel gained its original colors again a less drastic but still noticeable change is teddiursa this orange cub wasn't so orange in dominant pearl being a light brown instead so almost matching its evolution if you think about it this change ended in heart gold and soul silver becoming orange once again and going back to gold and silver we have spinarak who before crystal instead of being green was a deep blue the shining color stayed the same but the main colors were drastically different even though the deep blue does look cooler my opinion the green probably does suit it more now instead of pokemon that used to be a different color how about some pokemon that used to be completely different altogether a while ago we found out about a load of beta designs for both pokemon that exists and pokemon that could have existed a lot of them I had no idea about so I thought I'd show off some of the lesser-known more interesting ones Bellsprout third evolution at one point looked like this nothing like victreebel had Bellsprout said so looks a bit more like a second stage evolution rather than the third if you think about it beta kingdra looked closer to a Sidra and was also blessed with a pair of arms beta bailey's looked nothing like this evolution line this would have been way too different from the others so it makes sense why they eventually went with Bay Leafs now design bata Smoochum looked literally like a baby jinx I mean so does regular Smoochum but the beta design looked a lot closer to how jinx looked more like a mini jinx and finally we have beta designs of the legendary beasts which all look nothing like they do now in fact these are probably how I'd imagine the Pokemon that died in the burden tower looked like these were of course changed the designs that we all know and love today well almost records early design still looks slightly different more circular than it does now let's say now let's move on to shiny forms that used to be a bit different many of which I've covered in the past in the golden silver demo Clefairy 'uncle fable shiny forms instead of having the green accents were a nice light blue color a much better suiting shiny form if you ask me speaking of Jen to the cinder core line were blessed with purple flames much better than the shinies that they have now the slang wasn't the only pokemon with purple flames though as rapidash in Gen 2 instead of the gray flames had purple flames now I already thought rapidash had a pretty cool looking shiny but I think purple flames probably would have worked better and going back to the beta designs for the legendary beasts these also had shiny forms the Gen 2 colors were pretty limited at the time so they don't look all that different but still gives us an idea of what these shinies could have looked like if they were the final beasts designs both regular and shiny pokemon if he didn't already know it's the highest grossing media franchise ever but before it became this pokeman was already pretty big because it has appeared on real money before money you might have a bit of trouble spending but it did happen the Kanto starters Pikachu and Meowth have appeared on New Zealand dollar coins so these coins may technically only be worth one New Zealand dollar however I'm pretty sure they would go for much more than that could you imagine gamefreak creating a pokemon made up of every type every resistance every immunity had same type attack bonus no matter what move it used sounds unbeatable well almost a Pokemon that had every single type in the game would only be weak to rock it would have tons and tons of resistances and immunities but a be weak to a pebble that's a shame you can fish in some pretty wet spots in the Jen Wong games specifically on gym statues we all know about the Pokemon protagonists of the games the anime the house your knowledge on the protagonists of the manga specifically red blue and green for those of you not familiar with the manga do you know which Pokemon these guys started with most of you might assume that red started with Charmander since that's happened in other forms of media but that's not the case here aside from their very first Pokemon and only counting the stars they were given an oak slab red starter was Bulbasaur blue starter which Charmander and green starter were squirtle so their names really are pretty deceiving here then blue I'm going to choose swirl because it's blue color is perfect for someone with your name I would never choose my Pokemon for such a ridiculous reason mareep is based on a sheep more specifically the idea of mareep came from a famous novel titled Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep which fun fact is the novel that's the film Blade Runner is loosely based on so if that doesn't make you appreciate Murray more then I don't know well the Pokemon games are full of cool hidden easter eggs and these ones are so hidden you'd probably wouldn't be able to find them without a cheating device on memory viewer in the gem Wong Games one of the default names for the protagonist was Nintendo fan Nintendo and the rival character's name was Sony representing Nintendo's rival at the time again there isn't really a way to make these appear legitimately but it would have been a pretty cool inclusion if these were in the final games spike did Pichu is one of the rarest event Pokemon to ever be released but did you know that instead of having a unique ear this event Pokemon was actually going to be a white Pichu instead so essentially another fake shiny that looked better than the actual shiny even though this would have been nice this black deer Pichu guess instead is still really good do you recognize some of these realistic Pokemon art pieces you've probably come across at least one of them before the artists behind these pieces is r.j. Palmer and he's also the person behind the Pokemon designs in the detective Pikachu movie so explains why I love the Pokemon in the movie looks a bit creepier than you'd expect what's the highest level wild Pokemon encounter you can think of in the main series some might point to Arceus and the Gen 4 games however there's a Pokemon that's even higher level than this in Pokemon platinum it is possible to encounter a Magica that's level 100 wouldn't be very useful if you managed to find one since you wouldn't be able to evolve it but definitely something cool to show off you ever wonder why some Pokemon in the anime never evolved well there's definitely a reason for at least one this one being Dawn's Piplup instead of having a powerhouse like Empoleon on her team she decided she wanted to keep Piplup as it was so she ended up giving it a never stone but there's a bit more to the story in an interview with the former director and storyboard artist for the anime it was revealed that Dawn's Piplup didn't evolve because the evolved forms were quote-unquote too ugly for pokemon contests that's pretty harsh although who being real prim Pope is a pretty awkward looking middle sage SATA Pokemon sword and shield once the first games to cut Pokemon fun fact one game that did this way before the eighth generation was the popular game Pokemon snap this Nintendo 64 title contains 63 Pokemon okay come on you couldn't fit one more and there the Gen 1 games are notorious for being extremely buggy but here's something that was only in the original red and green games if the player manages to evolve their starter Pokemon before receiving the Pokedex from Professor Oak the game will then think the player has already obtained the decks since they'll now have two pokemon registered and the player won't be able to progress through the game this book was removed in the English titles but even if it wasn't who would bother grinding that much just to evolve their starter that early in the game who remembered the Poquette from the Sinnoh games such a wonderful useful item if you talk to an NPC they'll tell you that there are two colors available blue for boys and pink for girls however your rival berry doesn't have either one of those colors and instead has his own custom orange poke edge now that's just not fair the Move Fire Blast has a very distinct animation having a fiery star-like shape when launched well it may look like a star anyway but isn't the animation for this move is actually based on the diamond G that you see in the festival in Kyoto Japan at this festival there is a massive bonfire that's lit in the shape of the character that means great or big that's a pretty sweet reference if you ask me have you ever wondered why the move double slap has a chance to hit more than twice despite its name well this is because the move is actually called round trip slap in Japanese so a move we probably could have found a better English name for there's been many memorable NPC names in the Pokemon games with one of my personal favorites being from the gen 2 games with an NPC called firebreather a name that I'm not gonna say because I want cydia to remain monetized he of course returned in the johto remakes however his name was changed to firebreather Richards which is a name that I can say safely in this video and to be honest a smart decision by Game Freak to make that change pokemon black and white 2 saw the return of every pass to gym leader thanks to the pokemon world tournament every gym leader apart from one do you know which gym leader didn't make the cuts well the gym leader that wasn't in pokemon black and white 2 was Koga my guess is that Koga became an elite 4 member in the gen 2 games with the Janene replacing him as the gym leader and since no Lilly 4 members returned in black and white - that kind of makes sense why Koga didn't make the cut Pokemon Easter eggs have appeared and plenty of other franchises one pretty cool Easter egg being from super mario galaxy where there's a planet shaped just like a pokeball I've never played Super Mario Galaxy all the way through but if I did ever decide to return to in the future this is definitely the planets I'd be looking at most four how many pokémon evolves with the Firestone ten eleven twenty well the correct answer is four in fact the amount of Pokemon that evolve with each individual evolution stoned is surprisingly low the last Pokemon in the Pokedex that evolved with either a firestone a water stone or a leaf stone are the Innova monkeys so nothing for these stones to evolve in generation six seven or eight I think it's about time these stones made a comeback if you remember Ash's you know very well trip he was somewhat of a photographer taking pics every now and then his Japanese name shootie comes from shoots as in photo shoot his English name trip comes from tripod or Olympus trip 35 type of camera his French name Nico comes from the camera company Nikon and his German name diaz and italian name de Peau possibly come from die appositive I did not like trip in the anime but I will admit the plan his names is pretty cool despite manaphy being superior to phione in almost every way as well as the only method of obtaining phione being breeding a fam manaphy fee only not only comes before manaphy in the decks but is also both bigger and heavier than manaphy I mean Vionnet sucks so I guess Game Freak had to give it something as compensation and the best most interesting most important fact saved for last have you noticed something off about sunflora if you play very close attention to its design you'll notice that the number of petals on some florists face actually changes depending on the generation is in in Gen 3 for example sunflora had seven front face petals but in the gens afterwards sunflora grew an eighth petal as I said the best most interesting most important fact on the list and those are 25 more cool interesting useless Pokemon facts 27 if you count the two at the beginning if you want to learn some other Pokemon facts you may or may not forget about tomorrow I have two other useless facts videos as well as one that's dedicated specifically to shiny pokemon so please do check them out if you haven't already thanks again to surf shop for sponsoring this video and if you did enjoy please do leave a like as it does help the video out subscribe more Pokemon content in the future and until next time thanks so much for watching [Music]
