look pretty good I could be your daddy you realize you're driving a short bus knock that off which one of you is Blake I think get in oh hey all right let's get on the road Barcelona [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] hello and welcome to Barcelona Spain the mecca of International Street skating and home to the 2017 SLS Nike SB Pro open thanks everybody for joining us I'm Paul zitzer along with the living legend Geoff Rowley and this is it it's the finals here in Barcelona we have eight of the world's best pros about to battle it out for the title of the Pro Open champion and a spot in the super crown now Geoff talk to me a little bit about what it's gonna take and what we're gonna see from these guys in the finals today I mean what a crazy day we've had already I mean we have Shane O'Neill last year's SLS Pro Pro Open winner and the current super crown World Championship going into the finals with a two-point lead over everybody but then you have hotness heels you have one of the new guys the Shaun Jordan so it's gonna be a crazy vile man it's a set in the stage for quite an Endon and we haven't even mentioned Nyjah Huston he's in the finals too let's get to it but first let's see how this contest works with the basics there are two sections to Street League the runt section and the best-trick section each skater gets two 45-second runs to start off and then five best-trick attempts the top four scores from each skater regardless of the section count give them their final score and here you have an absolutely beautiful shot of this amazing skatepark one of the most beautiful courses in the world if I pignon Jeff look at that packed out crowd - let's escape fans around the skate park gets left behind for all the locals - to rip up they get to see the top pros in the world skate and then they get to skate it themselves what a good deal and their skate parks up and down the beach here in Barcelona so it just keeps getting better as you go this is the best city in the world for skateboarding and we couldn't be happier to be out here today with the finals about to begin and the crowd is packed and they love these people know skateboarding they react to like stuff that's legit they're not like cheering for Benihana Jeff well they are a little bit if it's a joke when the best skateboarders in the world think about it live right in front of them pretty cool deal the top eight skaters in the world today right now and look at this first skater in is going to be Kelvin Hoffler talk about a comeback he broke his leg in half at the start of last year and missed everything he did show up for one stop just kind of cruised around but here he is back in the finals Semillon with Matt Berger - Matt was out most - last year with injuries and coming back very strong looking very good out there in the semis you're right so Kelvin from Brazil Berger from Canada and then the new kid on the block Utah ago May from Japan coming through the qualifiers coming through semis finding himself in the finals and the brand new SLS Pro and we have Felipe Gustavo Felipe again have some injuries last year looking very good out there he's fighting fit ripping and how about this guy he's got a new neck tattoo his name's Nyjah Huston he's had 17 wins on the SLS Series in the course of his entire career and he's going for another one he hasn't won here since 2015 DeSean Jordan you mentioned him at the top of the show he won Tampa AM that's how he got invited here he came through the qualifiers came through semis with two thirds boom into the finals one of my favorites up next Tiago Lemos last year's Pro Open smashed it doing tricks that nobody else was doing huge Paul awesome performance back again ripping it up qualified into the finals in great position and look at this guy the man of the hour coming in two points ahead of everyone he's last year's winner last year's super crown champ Shane O'Neill can't wait to see what he's about to throw down and goodness so for a little bit more on the specs of this course let's check out the streetscape presented by Nike SB this is the largest competition course in SLS history measuring 170 feet long and 80 feet wide and let's talk about the big section there's all different types of rails and stairs and the main attraction the hubba in the center is great for stacking points and that all leads to the center obstacle the concrete volcano with the bench on top not an easy thing to skate but it offers the potential for big rewards for those willing to take the risk then over to the side we have the bank to bank with the down rails and the flat bar bridging the gap and finally at the far side of the course this super wide quarter pipe with the double hips makes for a lot of options and really ties the runs together let me talk about how the scoring system works today and the pylon you're gonna be looking at below the skaters name are the run section and best-trick tabs the top four scores will be shown in white and the drop scores will be shown in gray below that is the leaderboard the current skaters name is highlighted in white after their attempt their name will be in gray until they skate again the leaderboard will update after every single score and then finally on the bottom tab you'll see what score the skater needs for the lead and if they can't take the lead you'll see the highest placing they can get with a score it's the 2017 SLS Nike SB Pro Open finals and there's your start list remember the number one qualifiers out of semifinals ghost last that's Shane O'Neill so Kelvin Hoffler who just squeezed into the finals will be going first followed by Matt Berger Yuto Felipe Gustavo so they're gonna start out each with two 45-second runs before we move on to the best-trick section two runs five best-trick attempts best for overall scores count and kelvin Hoffler is in and it's official this is the finals starting off with a quick combo couple of switch alley-oop ollie quick tail now is he gonna switch it up from the semis he squeaked in qualifying for the final so he wants to be able to top leaderboard today he's gonna have to pick it up ain't no jokes he's gonna have to pull out the big guns oh that's a big gun right there yes it is he likes that one 10 seconds left time for one more maybe two if he's hustling captain those bluntslide good first round for Kelvin he packed it three more fronts I boneless 180 to end it at the buzzer solid first run right great first run he's a slo-mo of that Elia Poli keeping the speed and here's that rail trick big spin from board lands bolts comes out fakie no messing around 7.3 from the judges that is a great start that's a high first school Matt Berger on course ready to rip he hasn't skated since 2015 new jersey stop where he finished sixth place but he has been skating the street alone he's been absolutely smashing the streets of Paul he's healthy again it stops it up with a solid combination he bails on the nose wheelie I think he was already thinking about the next trick right the which can't happen lose that focus for a split second but SLS ain't forgiven you missed the trick you ain't gonna win I talked to Matt before before the files he said he's just happy to be here on his board healthy and rippin so this is all gravy he's a very humble dude great person fantastic skateboarder from Canada some guys from all over the world out here today guys from all over the world in the finals to [Applause] and that's time for Matt Berger run number one that big spin flip front board whips it out to fakie scores in six point nine good score from Matt also puts him in second place half a point behind Kelvin Hoffler next skater in Utah hora Gomez from Japan he was picked escape the qualifiers because fourth place finish at Tampa and second place finish at Phoenix and and look at him now in the finals brand new SLS Pro for the year then he's handling it just fine too don't have a backside 540 ollie on the quarter pipe oh-ho only 180 switch 5050 no show from my angle whether he look both trucks in there this kid gets stronger every contest you know no does he show a lot of emotion in his skateboarding but he's pretty textbook very clean skater and he's incredibly young so we would likely see him for years to come [Applause] that's the way to do it startup up and who the bangja oh wow dolly right that's right lip there's that 540 Ollie from foot comes up a little bit keeps it moving and there's that last rail trick right on the end nollie cab switchback live he's got that one down scores in seven point nine that's a great first school Yuto takes the lead [Applause] and like you mentioned Jeff Felipe Gustavo another guy who hat didn't skate pretty much all of last year due to injury and he's back and looking amazing he looks really feel looking looks in great shape Felipe's a very kind of focused skateboarder very clean technical educate border ah like that very humble beginnings to knows where he's at knows what he wants to be only front side nose slide straight to leg so casual yeah you can't see the television you have to carve a good twenty thirty features to hit that ledge [Applause] look at the start of this contest everybody killing it well the judges are all super technical skateboarders themselves let's see how they do with that one they better jet live in a show that one hi I'm going to come again a look at that determination to nollie front side nose slide already thinking about the ledge trick look look at that eye placement your body goes where your eyes look 360 kickflip noseslide that's great to see scores in a point six Gustavo takes the lead well that one is going to count incredible skateboarding happening out here today the final is going off we'll be back right after this [Music] Street League skateboarding Nike SB Pro open is brought to you by Nike SB having skateboarding in Barcelona since 86 1986 it's been a while [Music] first time I came I believe he was 95 and I first bought eyes I saw it was sense [Applause] the most famous person but they don't know God not bad not only words to that but a little and back in the days used to be ten times it to be the main spot in the whole city [Music] my first thoughts about the park in Verona it's like damn as we should've got it earlier yeah the the first one like that yeah it's not any other in Spain escape are made for the skaters build from a skater to the person is painted always has so many mistakes this one is like perfect but I'm so happy you know for the new year and it's on something they're gonna have this you know I wish I can have this when I was getting when I was 11 everytime that I want to scare caper you know like a good escape art to really learn things I can go there it's kind of far from my house I'll go by [Music] welcome back to the SLS Nike SB Pro Open we're in Barcelona Spain and now we're gonna throw it down to the third member of our team is on the course Andrew cannon thanks Paul I'm down here on the course right now you wouldn't be able to tell it from these guys but the wind is starting to come in this our only outdoor event of the year a lot of these guys are saying that the wind can bother them especially when we get into the best-trick section but so far in these runs we have seen some insane scores so we will see what happens as they continue on throughout the runs and into the five best tricks hopefully it doesn't bother anyone back to you guys thank you very much Andrew you're handling the wind pretty well though looking great killing it down there so once again we are in Barcelona this the finals of the 2017 SLS Nike SB Pro Open I Paul zitzer along with Geoff Rowley we're just happy to be here happy to be alive oh yeah I mean how can we not be look at our view we've got the beach without a world-class skateboard course rather in front of us some of the best skateboarders alive today Nyjah Huston on deck he won here 2015 got second last year and this is his first of two runs chooses a very unconventional first trick and it's straight into the bank to bank and that doesn't make it easy he's starting off with a very difficult first couple of combos where's that nose Brian help me back in the bay key speeding it up nice see stepping it up a little bit from the semis run did you notice that pool yes I did it wasn't that long ago that that trick we just demonstrate now we're seeing it so regular three seconds left kidney pop before time he does what an awesome first run quickly time he made every trick and they were all hard respect you on now on incredible technical board control good use of the course there's that backside 180 fakie nosegrind pulls it back forward and that backside 360 Ollie flip he's the guy who made that one irregular with his insane consistency with it look we have another leader change nyjah huston one tenth of a point ahead of Felipe Gustavo now with an eight point seven this final has gotten off to an incredible start and to Shawn Jordan just an absolute rookie up here having to skate after Nyjah and Felipe that's pressure he's a rookie but he's got an insane bag of tricks every trick is heavy like that one frontside 270 left what a trick to start off with Lipsyte gets away from 360 kickflip DeShawn's a guy like niger when he lays down those heavy tricks it's hard to beat him like that because they're so heavy and gnarly that's what he did to win tampa ham just a few months ago for that traveling backside 360 flip this long while that very first trick of his run frontside 270 lip the boardslide big spin-out little help from niger on the sidelines look at this scores in seven point three that's a surprisingly high score in my opinion for a run with a couple Falls after what we've already seen from these guys but that first trick was a heavy first trick so maybe the judges were swayed by that on deck Tiago Lemos with a huge crooked grind hop out Tiago made a big mark on skateboarding at last year's of Barcelona Pro Open Blackground 360 flip gets away he didn't pop high enough that's where they was he used to pop in so high he didn't keep up with his speed Tiago is one of three Brazilians here the finals today losing that flow hard to get it back Tiago qualified for SLS last year this Pro Open qualified into the finals in a good position his best SLS finished so far as a fifth place last year in Munich he's a guy who could make top three without a doubt based on the kofi the tricks he does has that first trick huge popped into the crooked grind just hops back out no problem scores in 3.0 even that's gonna be that's not gonna get him anywhere not last year's champion on deck Shane O'Neill only frontside boardslide now we have a whole new set of judges this year so let's see what Shane does with that is you try a different technique different tricks so does he stick with the plastics like that crooked grind nollie kickflip out he was questioning that himself too that's interesting right because they haven't seen all his runs before he could go do the same thing as he did last year and get great scores well he went into the finals two points ahead so maybe that's the tactic just be Shane O'Neill and absolutely rip it up which is what he's doing right now again and again right it's bent frontside pollard slides such a light foot it easygoing skateboarder easy on the eyes technical just keeps it going so the score to beat right now is an eight point seven from Nyjah Huston 8.3 8.3 that's that's a little low I'd have to say judges you guys need to pay a little more attention we might have to come over there and set you straight you know I have a bit of a theory about these judges they are the tech ledge guys maybe they're not that impressed with tech ledge skills they're like hey we want to see a huge frontside air that's hard to us maybe to go down and tell Shane so that's it for run number one here in the finals there's your current leader Nyjah Huston we'll be back with run this [Music] this is the final here in Barcelona at the SLS Nike SB Pro open welcome back Jeff let's talk about what's at stake out here today well everything's at stake whole this is the finals the overall winner for one earns a golden ticket to the SLS Nike SB super crown World Championship and that could be Shane O'Neill's second win in a row or I just won this event before also anybody else who wins it that'll be a first for them they'll be going to the super crown take a look at the current standings Nyjah on pace to take it he's in first with an eight point seven followed by Felipe Gustavo and Shane O'Neill no huge surprise there remember you need four solid scores on the board so you get two runs five best-trick attempts or scores count we are one run in so this is the start of our second runs here in the finals then go back to the top of the order kelvin Hoffler he's currently in sixth place but he has a 7.3 so he has a solid score and he's gonna just need to keep bumping it up there we go runs to stops it off for the ridiculous caballerial backside lipslide fakie kickflip no sign of think he meant they go to crooked that's okay all four wheels down still moving he is gonna have to take some chances big chances though Oh big spin frontside boardslide fakie good point to know he's already hit that rail twice with two pretty heavy tricks judges like that one running out of time though kickflip frontside lipslide now it'll be time for him finish with a solid ball grab yelping Hoffler first of second runs as that kickflip noseslide didn't quite get that front hooking going for the crooks Kelvin's second run score seven point four that is again a pretty high score for a run that was not flawless Kelvin kind of in the lead for now with a fourteen point seven by default because he's the only one with two scores on the board Matt Berger coming in next needs a seven point nine to take the lead it's gonna be difficult to make that one up losing that rhythm you know if I was gonna sum up the judging this weekend I would say the judges have been stingy with with the thrown out heist high scores but they've also been forgiving when people fall they're willing to reward people even with not perfect runs they've made some good pulls some tough calls to they picked certain tricks that are just all good to do and giving them high points and then some other ones low so it's a learning curve they're doing a great job and that is time kind of a scrappy run format right there yeah he needs a seven point nine for first he gets a two point six so he's going to be looking to the best-trick section to throw that 2.9 out the window youto horrigan me trying to lock into that sugarcane got the truck home for a split second and smashed it back out into backside lip you toe up next his first run score was a 7.9 he's a six point nine four for the lead well within his grasp [Music] that's a combo right the nollie 360 into the backside 540 now you talked about some of these young kids over the weekend Jeff just sort of they've got the tricks they kind of have to grow into the style and the power you know he's got the consistency he's got consistent tricks but they're not his tricks you know we like to see young guys come on the scene bringing new stuff to the table everybody's still young he's still developing and he's doing a fantastic cover me to be that that age right now and the files is really good as well as he is you call the cabs with backside lipslide you know what that's that's a Utah signature verb that the nollie cab switch back there he's got that every try that slow-mo nollie 360 into the backside 540 sick combo and that last final trick nollie cab cab switch back lid 8.24 youto launching out into the lead 16.1 overall score one-and-a-half point lead over second place Kevin Hoffler Felipe Gustavo on deck needs a 7.6 to take that lead away from youto he can do that Felipe is looking solid out there Felipe's a guy we all want to see do well medical person great skateboarder tough year last year with injuries we all go through them skateboarding's heavy on the body physically demanding these guys have to deal with it all the time so they keep coming back keep going at it testament to their love of skateboarding that combo is my blowing nollie front nose and then just straight to the ledge [Applause] now he has three seconds on that [Applause] another amazing run from Felipe Gustavo is that last trick again the nollie front side nose slide what a great Ronnie put together and there's that technical flat-ground 360 kickflip nose grind no touch on that back truck a true nose grind [Applause] he likes out on the crowd loves that one packed crowd here today to up to skateboard fans it's a battle royale out here at the Skate Agora Plaza it's the 2017 SLS Nike SB Pro Open final it will be back right after this 17 SLS Nike SB Pro open here Barcelona Spain now we've talked about how the top two finishers out of qualifiers would be the two new SLS pros you two ago me and Dashon Jordan are those two skaters this weekend and not only then they are in the finals so let's check out how they got here so hora Gomi nice back three well I love the Pro Open you get these guys come from all over the world with this opportunity to make it in for the whole year really shake things up oh he pops so he pops that knows beforehand so that nollie 270 switchback can't believe you pulled out of that that was crazy oh man Yuto hora Comey look right so if he can keep this momentum up there is a potential we may see him in Street League this year there we go nollie 270 switchback lips taking it to switch there's another look he is so comfortable with that trick rolling away switch takes a lot of control - Shawn Jordan first out of two runs Wow started off front 270 board deshaun though contest killer he knows how to do this [Music] you nicely done come Sean oh man Ella's insane you saw her ago me and Dashon Jordan these are new SLS pros for the 2017 world tour so excited to have them in both guys and qualifying is super awesome but DeSean winning Tampa and qualifying to be here and now in the whole world tour all right it's cool to have subdue blood out here in the SLS World Tour Nike SB is the official shoe here we go Nyjah Huston on deck he is currently in fifth place with one score on the board he needs an 8.9 for first we know he can do that relatively well he has more knives than anybody right Hammond shines backside 5r 360 kickflip nose grind revote again taking the same lives that's his tactic Brooke a grind hop in 19 seconds just throws that one out there it's got 5 seconds he's gonna get this last trick in here right on the pole again he doesn't time perfectly finishes packs in the tricks and they're all hard needs an eight point nine for first Jeff we should mention there has not been one nine this whole weekend there has not but if anybody's gonna get its gonna be Nyjah Huston is that 180 nosegrind pulls it back forward back set 360 kickflip credible second run for Nyjah and they get a similar score eight point seven seven moves Nyjah up into second place stepping it up again and again Felipe Gustavo out in the lead with a 17.5 but Nyjah only one tenth of a point behind next in DeSean Jordan you got an ace again gnarly he needs to do he needs to get nollie right now can't show his buddies go it's good start let's lock into this there we go already learn the tactics switched that second trick up knowing maybe he didn't quite have the angle he needed after he bailed her in the first run makes it all up gets all those tricks enough boardslide slips away from him still got plenty of time we saw how capable Dashon is and best trick though over the course of the weekend he can make up any shortfall in the run section with best tricks all day couple of Falls on this run though don't think that's gonna be much better than that first school puts the heat on them on the best-trick does tell the average though is that 5o bucks it in Lance from his mistake in the first run switching it up but look at the score six point nine relatively high score considering Tiago Lemos currently an eighth the score of a three so talked about having work to do it's beautiful [Music] no nollie backside heelflip Oh possibly a bad choice of tricks with that one kind of a little bit late to the rail still tried to get that trick in though maybe finish off with something heavy could have been it like he's gonna run out of time here and that's it for Tiago and his second run here in the finals thanks again for tuning in it's the Nike SB throw open from Barcelona 5.2 for Tiago he's gonna have to get four huge scores and best trick all right Shane O'Neill coming in with an eight point three last year's champ [Applause] last year's champ going into the final and the leader pole last year's Super Crown champ smooth as ice right now looks very calm the times we've seen Shane falter he doesn't look as relaxed as this he looks almost a little too relaxed it's taking it real easy but of course the tricks they're only staying on his board staying us board he's got time for one or two more Wow that was a smooth line oh that finish was right at the buzzer I'm not sure if he popped his tail hand before hand or not but that was a beautiful run from Shane O'Neill does that thing spin from board opposite fakie wave run get a good score for that one eight point three unbelievable run section here in the finals let's talk about what we got coming up in June we're headed to Munich Germany for the first stop of the world tour and then after that heading on to Chicago August 13th and wrapping things up with the super crown World Championship in Los Angeles September 15th can't wait Felipe Gustavo is in the lead the 17.5 one tenth of a point ahead of Nyjah Huston we'll be back right after this [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] back to the SLS Nike SB Pro open from Barcelona Spain there's just a glimpse of the good-looking crowd out here we're just blending in every looks like that in Spain our current standings after the run section Felipe Gustavo up on top with a 17.5 Nyjah Huston one tenth of a point behind followed by last year's champ Shane O'Neill and the new guy Yuto hora Gomes let's throw it down to Andrew cannon who is with our current leader Andrew take it away when you're coming back really strong how are you feeling out there today feeling good today happy to be on the finance you know like my needs finally 100% just be able to skate again with everybody it's amazing no that's a wedding I like my victory you know just to be able to get back on and ski high on that do you have five tricks that you're going into this with are you just gonna kind of play it by ear as you go I'm just gonna go for it you know might as well we have a 10 define us what if he happens you know awesome we've got some amazing scores on the board congratulations and best of luck back to you kind of shocking how casually seems to be taking it like yeah whatever whatever happens there's a lot of stake out here but he's not faced all right the basics but I can't be there are two sections to Street League we've seen the run section and now it's the best trick ski trick section each skater gets five best-trick attempts and then the top four score is overall whether it's runs or best trick they count and they'll be told to end the competition with your final score we are in best trick section the order has been shuffled so we're starting with the skaters coming into this in eighth place that is Tiago Lemos he's got work to do it's all gonna come down to best trick for Tiago and here we go Wow starting up very strong switch frontside bluntslide so much power in the way that he laid that one out lock the switch from blunt in that's the way he comes out and that is a long hubba got a sit on that thing seven point nine good score Tiago Matt Berger needs an eight point one to take the lead oh there's that big slim frontside bluntslide Wow the best trick section is is definitely a strength of Matt's got some really technical rail tricks like that one right there that is unbelievable need to see more of that needs that eight point one gets the eight point three that moves him into first place but remember he has three scores on the board most of these guys don't here comes the Shawn Jordan oh ho lifts that one real slow that was the problem none flip it slows look so slow he barely caught the end of the rail Calvin Hoffler up next you know he can make things happen the best-trick big things happen you know kelvins one of these skaters that has a nine point nine in his past that kickflip frontside bluntslide fakie it's a three point two gets an eight point zero oh it didn't look like he liked that score huh we have a new leader with Kelvin Utah coming in switch tailslide he was trying to take it all the way around to Brooke a grind knew he'd missed it the second he landed down you can see him lift his head up maybe we'll see that in the slo-mo just missed it look big I want to heat what it looked like he was saying 6.1 for youto that's all right Shane O'Neill he's another guy who's put in nine point nine s he needs a six point two for first that's like pushing down the avenue for Shane punch trick of the day for Shane O'Neill [Music] Wow now if I was up there coming after that what would be going through my head would be just mayhem how am I gonna back that up switch big spin flip from bored that's why he won last year they went into the finals nine o'clock and there's our nine yes and not just any old nine a nine point to the first nine of the weekend judges got that one bang on point yeah they nailed it congratulations Shane O'Neill Nyjah Huston up next he's an 8.5 take that lead back side Smith grind is happening out here we've never seen him do that that's a new trick for Nyjah that we've not seen see how 8.8 good score lock down that 8.8 is good enough to put Nyjah back on top and Felipe Gustavo came into the round and first is up next he needs an 8.8 see how Felipe handles the best trick after putting out those great runs let's see it buddy lay it down and you get the flip who's looking for attempt one is done true skate is the official mobile game of Street League skateboarding download the sls course today attempt number two coming up and that's all for best-trick attempts upper one with Nyjah Huston up in the lead Shane O'Neill in second place we'll be back with more best trick right after this welcome back to Skate Agora Plaza here in beautiful Barcelona Spain attempt number two coming up best-trick attempts at the Pro Open Nyjah Huston up on top with a twenty six point two three scores on the board here comes Thiago go for that switch pop shove it over that huge hubba didn't get the catch Thiago is the pop again he always has the pop Jia goes in a bit of a hole he's gonna have to come back with some hammers we know he's good for it Matt Berger is on deck that needs an 8.5 for the lead that's gonna have to keep up these eight eight points or higher oh she gets wheel bite coming out of that big spin backside lipslide in the semis we saw make it even with the wheel bite double wheel bites to make not here in the finals unfortunately DeSean Jordan up next he needs an eight point six just to move up into third he's been struggling a little bit here in the final maybe feeling the heat of the big dogs that's bound to happen he's in a tough position now very very tough position three more attempts he's gonna have to make two out of his last three attempts to even have a shot at anything but regardless he's top eight for the weekend nothing to sneeze at Kelvin Hoefler up next only needs a three point six to take the lead some fancy footwork I was like light and half kapnos light whipped it right round to backside tailslide fakie he's stoked Brazil is stoked were stoked point to 4 Kelvin Hoffler 1/2 nose whip around back tail to the eight point two moving him up into the lead but he's the first skater to post four scores so he has the lead almost by default at this point once we see four scores up from everything everyone those results will move around a little bit Yuto hora go may up next needs an eight point eight going for a technical trick though only 360 the nose slide crowd showing some support Shane O'Neill has three amazing scores up needs a five point two to take the lead oh my goodness you've done that anybody clean and sweet he baby could have no one else in the world could ever I don't know that was about as nice as it gets well I'm just saying he is a machine he is looking like something else out there last year's winner super grand champion [Applause] he is way up on top once again with a thirty four point seven Nyjah Huston Zen needs an 8.6 setting up that volcano fakie kickflip [Applause] well that was 99.9% they're just through that head dipped his head down right when he was coming down he landed right on the edge of where the transition hits the flat bottom and when that happens it gives you a little jerk and therefore a bail on that one Vinay Joe needs big scores switch flip back tail with chance he had he has that chance that's our second of five best-trick attempts remember top four scores of the day count thanks everybody for joining us we are in the finals best trick section of the Nike SB Pro open here Barcelona Spain we are taking it back to the top of the order Tiago Lemos in 7th place he's an average of nines to take the lead [Applause] now that is something that I've only seen him do that was absolutely banging and even from here from him we've only seen it rarely but if you're gonna do it now's the time crowd loved that one homies love that one everyone know it would heal the backside lipslide you need immense amount of pulp to get that ball to go over the top of the rail before you land in it and that's what he has highest score to the semis highest score of the finals Tiago Lemos highest score of the entire weekend that's huge Tiago up in 4th place working his way back into things after struggling in the run section Matt Bergeron deck needs an average of 8.9 from first he's got that Oh boat that wheel on the way up so second fall in a row for Matt Berger still looking for the fourth score up next DeSean Jordan currently in 8th place he needs two more scores he only has his runt sections for so that is a sloppy bag but a make this account for points counts on the streets none of it counts SLS we'll find out great to watch so look at that Shh bigger flip that's what happens when you cuz that foot too near the front of the end of the board whoa just dang well breaks he gets a 4.7 so somewhere in between a ballet and he's gonna have to find a new board real quick not good timing for that [Applause] while didn't like that 4.7 crowd wanted a nine that's one of those things when you see it live it's super impressive he's gonna have to speed that up to get about a board back up and running for his next attempt Kelvin needs a couple big scores to take the lead [Music] so Yuto Horrigan May up next the rookie the Rost of rookies coming out of Japan skating in his first-ever SLS event making it all the way through to the finals here today he's in fifth place well that was accident and he kept rolling how do you judge that now he was trying to land him no sliding landed in boardslide is a slow more you can see look at that that was killer and then in a wheel slide dropped it down to backboard scores in 7.00 that's how these judges called it and Shane O'Neill is up next you toes in third Shane our current leader it's just trying to stack points at this point he's got a huge lead now that would have been the icing on the cake I think we'll probably see that in one of his next to final tries Nyjah Huston coming in fourth place needs an eight point six for fourth see if he comes back to this fakie flip my goodness that was ridiculous so light on the feet as absolutely ridiculous wasn't it now onside kick flip over the volcano bench needs an eight point six for the lead does that do it if that has to do it it does do it hey lady eight it's a good school a her lower I'd like to have seen it that was definitely an insane trick no visibility the whole way through all ball control judges making Nyjah work for it a little bit more than you would it's okay we pick the star bow back in getting stuck on that same trick [Music] so Nyjah Huston taking the lead from Shane O'Neill with two best-trick attempts left to come stick around [Music] welcome back to Barcelona it's the 2017 SLS Nike SB Pro open and we are in the finals this is the best trick section we have two tries left for our top eight skaters here in the finals Shane O'Neill and Nyjah Huston are the only two skaters to win here in Barcelona and guess who is in number one and two Nyjah Huston and Shane O'Neill Nige on top with a 35.0 followed by Shane O'Neill with the 34.7 Shane O'Neill and Nyjah Huston have battled each other at the top of the SLS heap for years they've each one super crown world championships and they've traded victories in the SLS Nike SB Pro Open in every year of its existence in 2015 Nyjah came to Barcelona off an historic SLS season sweep and scored his fifth win in a row after trading nines in the final 2016 saw Shane rise up with a dominant Pro Open win in Barcelona with Nyjah a distant second by two points the scene would repeat itself at the 2016 super crown with Nyjah settling for another second-place finish as O'Neill capped off the season and the year of Shane with his first super crown title once again has anyone surprised it's these two for the title Jeff what are you liking out here oh the level of skateboarding stepping up with a chain O'Neill on Niger and Tiago really stepping up their game here we go last two tries Tiago Lemos in fifth place he has three good scores on the board needs to drop a three goal for the crooks up the hubba doesn't bode well for his final final score he has one try left trying to replace the three Matt Berger will be on deck he's in next in seventh place he only has three scores on the board one of them is a two point six so he has to make he has to make his last two tricks to have a fighting chance and it's got to be high for technical gone for that cap big spin flip - I think frontside hurricane didn't quite see his truck from this angle but that's what it looked like and that's what he's gonna do he's gonna push the boundaries and waist capable of doing get out of his comfort zone or he's gonna be in real trouble same with this guy Deshawn Jordan he's in he's an average of 8.4 just to make third Oh dawns for that big gap frontside 270 to live a thing maybe get a little bit lost out there in the finals Kelvin Hoffler up next needs an average of 9.5 for first place that's a tall order that's back-to-back nines Oh going for the catback tail seen him do that one to qualify into the finals Yuto origami again needs an average of 9.5 for first so half the cover here right now [Music] [Applause] all right Shane O'Neill coming in next he can still win it you know he can win it needs an eight point seven for first it's getting hot out the winds picking up shame putting the heat on himself it's it's getting close out here where there's only a few people left who have a shot at taking Nyjah out nyjah's in the lead it's got a 35 Felipe Gustavo still in a position where you could potentially take out Nyjah and Shane all right so this is critical for Felipe Gustavo he only has two scores on the board he has to make his last two tries and both of them have to be at least an eight point eight is it gonna come down to the last trick again it could come down to the last trick so that's gonna be all she wrote in terms of Felipe's chances of winning this contest so it comes down to Nyjah Huston and Shane O'Neill of course it does right our last two winners here again so here we go back to the top of the order this is the finals last tries in the best-trick two people can win it Nige in Shane nyjah's in first Shane is close behind Thiago coming in needs an 8 point 5 to get up to third place Oh cook a grind up the hubba is gonna stay in fifth place at least for now bat burger is on deck at seventh place the best he can do at this point is fifth sure he'll take it he needs a seven-point eight to get there see if you can get that big spin flip frontside hurricane gets it and then gets wheel by it we are still looking to see which skater from this final goes to the super crown but the points are important for everyone everybody here is in the race trying to qualify into the Super crown at the end of the year skaters of the year go to super crowd the Shawn Jordan is in and he is and that's gonna do it for DeSean Jordan best he could finish is in six but congratulations to DeSean Jordan for being a new SLS pro coming through from Tampa aims win and then he came here skated the qualifiers got third got third and semifinals and made it here to the put into the finals what a showing he's a new SLS pro we'll be seeing him for the rest of the year sure it won't be the last of those bangers that we'll see welcome to SLS to Shawn Jordan Kelvin Hoffler he's at third place and that's as high as he's gonna go but hey this is for the love of the crowd Kelvin Hoffler setting up a key cap backside tail almost goes down on that one sided great today the 13th straight bale in a row we've seen here in the finals because these dudes they're going for they're going for the win which they know any of them should they know they've got to get out of the comfort zone do those heavy trick so they ain't gonna get anywhere right now you toss it forth he's trying to bump up to third he's trying to get podium he's the new SLS pro also correct it's going nuts right now for him only 270 nose live that was so sick this is a skate crowd that appreciates that they respect them he's going for it good BAM Utah score is in an eight point five bumping him up onto the podium Wow well how's that into SLS and now sitting in third place position that is incredible he and the Shawn have a lot to be proud of all right so it comes down to this Shane O'Neill needs an eight point seven per person he's the only skater out here who could knock Nyjah Huston out of the lead Nyjah Huston your current leader is on his way to the super crown unless Shane O'Neill can put down an eight point seven or better right here in their boards and screaming they want to see [Applause] is the winner of the Nike SB Pro Open 2017 coming back from 2015 that win handed over to Shane O'Neill in 2016 grabbing it back here this year congratulations Nyjah Huston and he said this is all for show oh well there you have it what a high level of skateboarding right there [Music] [Applause] so Nyjah Huston getting his first win since last year in New Jersey that's got to feel good he deserved he absolutely speed skate it's so good today we're gonna toss it down to Andrew right now I'm down here with the winner Nyjah Huston Nyjah you were sitting there looking at it what was your strategy going into this my strategy going into this was just knock out some gnarly runs honestly that's why I just like I didn't hold back on my runs at all because this honestly isn't my favorite course and in that situation you've got to go for it and I got those two runs down and then got a couple tricks and made it happen congratulations man it was quite a victory out there you deserved it so much and what are you gonna do to celebrate this evening we're gonna race tonight we're gonna hit the casino we're gonna get it tonight awesome congratulations back to you guys congratulations Nyjah Huston overall current point standings for the super crown Nyjah Huston up on top with 177 followed by surprise surprise Shane O'Neill with 170 Kelvin Hoffler right up in the mix Louie Lopez and the boys all skateboarding start to finish what stands out in your mind Jeff just a great start to the season I mean we had flip-flop with Felipe going into the finals right there coming in hot with some great
