I love this routine, if you're looking at show openings though I think nothing beats Neil Patrick Harris at the Tony Awards, that's not television but still it's a sight to behold.

Admittedly I'm a huge fan of Scott Aukerman and CBB/Between Two Ferns, but I thought he and Andy's entire Emmy show kinda went above the heads of a lot of the crowd that year.

I distinctly remember a lot of funny jokes in the opening monologue getting no response.
