[Music] in this video i'm going to show you 15 cooks that'll make you want to buy a griddle [Music] hi i'm johnny professional drinker amateur grizzler and a lot of people use these griddles for things like smash burgers fried rice cheese steaks which are all delicious meals to have with an ice cold beverage however they can be used for like so much more so many more items can be cooked on these things if you're not familiar with a flat top grill or a griddle as i like to call them it's kind of like what you would see at a japanese steakhouse or at your local diner or remember that thing that hamilton beach thing your mom used to make pancakes on every sunday it's like that except it's twice as large maybe three times so you can make full meals on it it's made of cold rolled steel so you can get a nice sear on your burgers or your steak and it's outside residential in your backyard so you're getting that restaurant thing taste quality in your backyard while your kitchen stays clean let me tell you fellas you make your wife an omelet with potatoes and bacon and the kitchen's still clean that's husband of the year material right there in my book you know so crack open an ice cold beer let's take a look at some of these cooks huh first off check out this easy easy breakfast that i would recommend for camping because there's a lot of non-perishable items in there it all fits in a little coleman cooler so it's kind of like a little scramble that i would highly recommend trying as a first cook you can see there's the eggs and a carton this one pound sausage diced up some peppers and onions mexican cheese canned potatoes this is great for camping like i said everything a lot of easy stuff portable stuff blackstone breakfast blend for seasoning tortilla shells and can't forget the tabasco sauce that's chipotle this all fits in this little cooler great for camping i got this cooler from my dad's basements probably older than me look at that thing playmate probably from the 80s and it's good because it's not a lot you know when you're going camping you got like what one cooler of beer another cooler full your backup beer and then you just have this little cooler for your food you know so it works out we're gonna put the black stone blend on the sausage and the potatoes and the peppers and onions so everything's getting the seasoning once your sausage cooks up here just keep kind of breaking it down and then we're gonna throw the tortillas down get them nice and warm and they'll loosen up a little bit so we can roll them up and here come the eggs so i'm gonna go ahead and make a well in between the sausage and pour the eggs in there that way it kind of contains my eggs from going everywhere let them set up and then we're just mixing it up it's a real messy cook i mean there's no this ain't the prettiest cook you know it ain't a beauty contest here we're camping probably woke up need a hearty meal fold it up like a mcdonald's burrito boom perfect easy scramble all right this next recipe i learned from a carny at the county fair this dude had more fingers than he did teeth and he didn't even have all 10 fingers all right we're doing popcorn kernels then we got some oil and sugar we're gonna do about a half a cup here of these just plain regular kernels nothing fancy then we're going to do a fourth a cup of white sugar to go in there and i just mix that with my kernels and kind of let that sit on the side you don't want to put it with the oil put it with the kernels and then the oils by itself going on the griddle fourth a cup of oil so equal parts oil sugar and then a half a cup of the popcorn kernels put the oil in your griddle to get hot also to see if your grill griddle is level if your griddle is not level don't make a youtube video and let everybody on the internet know look like an idiot i wouldn't recommend doing that because then you just keep scraping the oil back i put one kernel in there until it pops that's how you know the oil is nice and hot ready to go then i put all the sugar and kernels down there together cover it with a dome and immediately start shaking it for like three four minutes until it starts to pop if you don't immediately start to shake it your sugars are gonna burn and look at that kettle corn don't let the next one fool you see me and the mcdonald's people we kind of have a little bit of a misunderstanding going on right now i'll explain it to you see they're mcdonald's and i'm mcgriddle with johnny they got the golden arches i got the golden arcs they got the mcgriddle and i got the mcgriddle with johnny which is what we're making here today it's just a little misunderstanding the only difference is see they got you know a mcgriddle with pancakes with maple syrup as you see going down right here it also has an egg on it it also has cheese in the sausage patty but mine has that little hash brown patty that you saw me make inside the cuisinart egg rings so that's the difference please don't sue me but you can see i use these cuisinart egg rings for this um and i did the pancakes i did the hash browns and i did the egg and those egg rings it's a real nice i'll put a link in the description and once i put it all together that's a bob evans like sausage patty i got load it all up with the potatoes in there stack it on each other and yes sir that is a grown man mcgriddle with johnny right there you will not be disappointed if you make yourself one of these on your griddle at home egg roll in a bowl you take your egg roll you put it in a bowl done seriously i'll throw down some ground beef it's like one pound of ground beef i think i did like 70 30 this time because there's a lot of fat coming off of this which is fine i just like to make sure i get rid of some of that grease before i put the cabbage down because it just it makes it you don't want greasy cabbage so here goes some garlic in with our beef and then we're going to follow up with the coleslaw mix or the cabbage mix and that's what's the egg roll insides of an egg roll that you would be used to a little bit of soy sauce then also a little bit of teriyaki sauce after that and you just want to mix it all together make sure you get it all mixed up you got a couple sauces actually we did soy sauce we did teriyaki sauce then also right here you're going to see me go into the sesame oil so this lots of flavor you could easily add more vegetables highly highly recommend doing this egg roll in a bowl don't forget to put the yum yum on at the end though [Music] so i worked at outback for like a year after college and i never met a single australian person which kind of feels like a waste of my time you know what i mean but i did learn how to make this quesadilla which is delicious no rules in this quesadilla just right start off with a rotisserie chicken i mean you can make chicken if you want but i was being lazy i wanted to drink this fat heads strange magic sorry i apologize to any elo fans out there for ruining that song so yeah i did the rotisserie chicken cut up some onion cracked open a beer chopped up a mushroom real quick trying to keep this super simple it was probably one of my favorite items at outback by the time i left also shredded up some cheese i like to shred my own cheese from a block it just melts better and a little bit of bacon so there's a lot of flavor in this quesadilla i mean typical quesadilla you're thinking just oh peppers onions chicken now the mushroom brings a little more bacon is a must and then the real big thing after you saute up your vegetables the real big thing that really sets this quesadilla apart is the sauce and you'll see that here in a second put down our tortillas let them get nice and crispy hit it up with the cheese so that it can start melting from the griddle as the tortilla gets on and the honey mustard is the star of the show it's just i don't know it's just different i would highly recommend doing it just the honey mustard inside really is in my opinion what sets this thing apart from a normal quesadilla there's the chicken and the bacon here comes the mushrooms and the onions put the other one on top wow that is a good looking quesadilla down under shrimp on the barbie quesadilla [Music] breakfast burrito you should make them they're easy this one's very easy period in a sense this is one of my first cooks on the griddle but i do it often now it's just so great it's just potatoes a couple sausage links peppers and onions you see i do a lot of peppers and onions you have a griddle you should just do a lot of peppers and onions are always good on everything paprika pepper going in there also a little bit of seasoned salt mike lowries then we're going to slow pour the eggs to make some scrambled eggs here to go in and after that you just let them set up you want to just slow pour your eggs around 300 degrees then boom sausage potato eggs a little bit of cheese going on top of there then your peppers and onions roll them up and then you want to put the seal side down so that they close themselves on the griddle and then you got yourself a nice looking breakfast burrito fried bologna sandwich if you think you're above eating a fried bologna sandwich or you're too good for it then you're probably at the wrong youtube channel because i love me a fried bologna sandwich especially with the thick cut bologna and the texas toast and here's how i make it on the griddle i can't tell you how much i like this sandwich i got this cut at the deli extra thick and she's like you making a frown bologna sandwich i was like yes ma'am i'm absolutely making a fried bologna sandwich and it is delicious this is garlic bologna is what i got cut and so i just you got to put those little slits in it so it doesn't like shrivel up it'll cook better if you just put those four little slits in it smack it too makes you feel good so then we did the texas toast big fan of texas toast you'll see that again later on in this video give it a flip once you get the oh look at that color bologna is like really just an oval hot dog if you think about it but it's delicious the texas toast toasting up you gotta toast your bread that's why you got a griddle man you just gotta toast your bread i use mayo to toast it then i put more mayo on there and some mustard on there this looks like it was made in a bowling alley or something so good put some american cheese onions tomato a little bit of lettuce and wow this is just what a good looking sandwich next we have our stuffed pancakes only two ingredients for the filling pudding and cream cheese i also put some berries on there uh oh all right my son well he's stealing them those ones for for taste testing but i can learn these when i was at bob evans so we just made the instant pudding you don't have to make this i just wanted to make it with them but you could just buy like canned pudding if you want but we made the instant pudding then you take the cream cheese soften it got a little messy but you whip it with your blender and then you slowly add the pudding so it's one eight ounce thing a cream cheese and about a cup of pudding and then you whip it all together go ahead and put my pancakes into the egg rings again i just want them to kind of look nice and pretty blueberries in the pancakes flip them over cream cheese filling with pudding in the middle top of your other pancake whipped topping berries oh man this was a hot seller at bob evans shrimp who doesn't like it communist that's who always keep some shrimp in your fridge or your freezer when you have a griddle because it's so easy to just add to the meal at the end in like three minutes to cook it up the one i did here i did while i was making some burgers it was nice to just have like a little shrimp appetizer before i had my cheeseburger put down some oil butter garlic there goes our peeled shrimp that i bought and then you just want to mix all the butter up in there make sure everybody's getting coated gets the butter and the garlic on there then spread them out so they're all touching the griddle evenly don't leave them piled up but you got to initially kind of get the butter on everything this is super fast cook super fast hit it with some salt and pepper that's just a plain generic way i do it there's other options you can do with this you could do like old bay white wine cilantro and lime or honey garlic and soy sauce is another good marinade but after about two minutes you flip them if they go into little cues or all the way curled up you cook them too long so just like two minutes per side hit them with some fresh lemon at the end like i said it's super easy to add to any meal on the griddle so i'd highly recommend keeping frozen shrimp around and add them to each meal a b-e-l-t sandwich it's like a blt but there's an egg on it stands for belt like loosen your belt and make yourself two of these sandwiches more mayonnaise more texas toast you'll see this theme in the video i like both of them equally i'm toasting the bread again with the mayonnaise and that's why i mean i think it what else you need to see dude the thick cup bacon always a good choice for a blt just be careful on the griddle it will burn on the edges and not be cooked in the middle so be careful cook your thick cut bacon low and slow then we're dropping the egg on this b-e-l-t as well pop the middle so we can fry it up i did the egg a little earlier than normal so i ended up flipping it once it was done i put it on that cooling rack there along with the cheese put the cheese on it more mayonnaise that's what makes this delicious everything bagel seasoning that's my secret to my blt everything bagel seasoning on your mayonnaise highly recommend trying it go ahead friday cheese three cuts slices of thick cut bacon lettuce tomato doesn't get much better than that folks does it oh the old smoked sausage with peppers and onions so look this is one of those like 250 sausages at kroger or whatever that's really just a glorified hot dog however we're gonna church it up a little bit and i think you will like it when it's all done don't try to church it up your daddy named you dirt for a reason anyways so these are hoagie rolls i got from the bakery not cause they're good because they're on sale a new knife i will start my diet next week got that engraved on there peppers and onions going down double spatula that's why we bought the griddle for the double spatula a little bit of butter toast these one dollar rolls that i got can't tell you how excited i was because i'm so cheap to find these on sale at the bakery hit them with the weight so that they got pressed down got toasted up there's our sausage slash glorified hot dog and i did cut those try this cut them not all the way through but just slice them and then put them down and you can move the weight over on them and get a little a little bit of color and a little different flavor on them peppers and onions go on top then we're going to put the cheese on top with the peppers and onions water dome melt the cheese load it up on the bun boom easy sandwich chopped cheese or at least my version of a chopped cheese which is really just ground beef and cheese whiz kind of feels like it was invented by a 20 year old that lives in his mom's basement plays call of duty all day but it's delicious another pound of ground beef love chopping up the ground beef on the griddle give it a nice chop choparoo cheese whiz out of a jar the way god intended you to eat it montreal steak seasoning great for steaks also good for hamburgers or ground beef i'd recommend keeping some around onions mushrooms because my wife loves mushrooms cooked them up mixed everything together you could completely add more veggies or whatever you like to this this this is a real basic recipe some more hoagie rolls that i put on the griddle and make sure you toast your buns you got a griddle to toast your buns okay putting your chopped ground beef with veggies in there hit it up with that cheese whiz mmm buddy i want some french toast the best part about making french toast on your griddle is that you can make like two loaves probably in like 10 minutes and all the messes outside so definitely make some french toast on your griddle regular french toast batter i got like two eggs some milk cinnamon vanilla extract in there more texas toast i hope one day to be sponsored by texas toast that's a goal of mine in life it's for i don't know if that's possible like from sara lee or something we're just throwing it out there somebody knows somebody griddle french toast i mean these things were made to make french toast just look how beautiful that is i should have bought like three bags and just i have bought a lot and frozen it before and then i pulled out during the week to feed my son breakfast so bananas walnuts good-looking french toast [Music] euros gyros heroes gyros gold jacket green jacket who gives a sh start off with some pita right there then i got these euro slices from a gordon food service store kroger used to carry them sometimes not anymore but check a restaurant store if you can't find them they're already cooked so you're just browning them up on the griddle they really don't take long and then you're warming up your pitas super easy meal great great thing to feed a bunch of friends if you're having a party or a cookout if you can find these sliced you could also do chicken if you want my my wife likes chicken i like the lamb meat use my taco holder just because i like to use it because it makes me feel fancy put my pita down in there load each of them up with some of the meat then after that we're going to do the classic toppings which are just some lettuce followed up some fresh tomato fresh onions and then some ziki that i bought i didn't make this i just bought it from kroger as well it turned out to be a nice easy meal finally rounding things out with the hash brown omelet if a fluffy cheesy omelet made love to crispy golden hash browns you would end up with this delicious griddle meal so we got our veggies down already some sausage and we spread our hash browns out real big and thin so that's just peppers onions mushrooms sausage and then you really want to spread your hash browns out as thin as possible then once they crisp up after like six to eight minutes you start pouring your eggs right on top okay so make a rectangle spreading your hash browns out once they're crispy pour down your eggs then start adding your filling there goes the veggies there goes the sausage it's like a supreme pizza i made into an omelette throw down some american cheese you gotta throw it it'll make you feel good fold the top in fold the bottom in then we'll start to fold on the sides once over again it broke a little bit on me i apologize a shame that it broke but still great looking omelette even better tasting omelette crispy hash browns fluffy eggs cheese in the middle very good give it a try now if you did just buy a griddle i recommend you watch this video on your screen right now about the four most important things a new griddle owner needs to know i think i'm going to start my diet next week have a good one keep on gradle and friends
