all right ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the my Tesla Channel my name is Jeremiah and in this video I'm going to be going over what I believe are the top 11 must-have accessories for your Tesla Model 3 slash y here toward the end of 2022 going into 2023. there's actually more than 11 but I grouped some of them together to just try to keep the flow of this video good nice fast paced I guess now every product I mentioned in this video is going to be linked below and because I believe in transparency here on the channel Amazon links will be affiliate links so I do get a kickback and test stuff links well I own that store we've had a few soft launches and sold out pretty fast but we're fully restocked and ready to ship also going to be giving you all a pretty big discount code for test stuff toward the end of the video last thing in case you're unaware is that the model 3 and model y are roughly the same vehicle I believe it's like 70 so most accessories that fit the three also fit the Y and vice versa if they are different then I'll have links for both down below so let's first start with what every other Tesla accessories video starts with a screen protector but it might not be for the reason you think yes a screen protector is going to protect against scratches and potential cracks but the reason I personally have one installed is because it makes the screen feel like butter most screen protectors are going to have what's called an oleophobic coating it's essentially a top layer that just makes every swipe and touch of the screen silky smooth then if you would also get a matte version to help fight against glare that silkiness gets turned up to 11. if you've never felt a matte screen protector and you have I think it's the iPhone 11 Pro or newer the ones with the frosted glass on the back that's kind of what a matte screen protector feels like so get a screen protector if you're worried about scratches or cracks so you got dogs kids throwing a lot of things in and out of your car and you're worried about the screen but if none of that worries you then get one for the better screen fill next up we have floor mats and know the floor mats that come with the car don't count those are awful also I believe that the base model 3 still comes with no floor mats so if you get the base model then you really need formats get some all-weather floor mats your car's carpet will thank you also going to be grouping in the extended set of floor mats here so the front trunk mat the trunk mat the trunk liner otherwise known as trunk well mat and then the mats that go on the back side of the rear seats if you actually use your model 3 or model y to haul things around then these are really nice to have especially those back seat mats if you're carrying things around that you need to put the seats down for next up we have inserts center console insert and armrest insert are really nice to have because well it's an EV so it has a lot of storage space and well it's very easy to get things jumbled around in those big compartments you can kind of get whatever armrest insert you want because those can't really do anything but the center console insert you can get sliding ones so make sure you get sliding one so it's easy to just kind of slide up reach down get something beneath or access the USBC ports next insert is going to be the trunk storage bin insert model 3s have one and model wise have two really nice if you want to keep certain items separate from the rest of your trunk I personally use mine for storing my quick detailing towels that I use when there's a bunch of bug guts on the front of the car or bird poop or something don't want paint etching then we have cup holder inserts get one of these seriously the cup holders are way too big if you put any sort of regular sized can or bottle in there it's just kind of rattle around and drive you crazy get a cup holder insert and lastly for the inserts there is the secret armrest compartment insert if you've ever looked under the armrest cover then you've probably noticed that there's a cut out well people have actually made little boxes to go inside of there you can slide the door up and down to store smaller items such as your wallets your keys valuables whatever it might be and it's pretty well hidden away like not most people would look there unless you're watching this video then you're always going to look there now at number four a phone mount and well I'm kind of split on this I used to have a magsafe non charging one attached to the screen but I ended up taking it down after a few months I don't know what it was but screen on screen just didn't look right to me it it felt weird I eventually switched to a dash mounted phone mount to the left side of the steering wheel and that was much much better a screen to the left being your phone and a screen to the right being the infotainment screen makes it feel like you're in a legitimate cockpit also no I'm still not recommending a wireless charger for iPhones Because unless you're using an apple official magsafe charger you're gonna be capped at 7.5 watts and well your car already has a 7.5 watt Qi wireless charger built into it so there's just no point to have another one I'd much rather run a temporary cord from the car's USBC ports which are 35 watts and directly plug in my phone so I get much faster charging speeds Android users though well you probably already know what your wireless charging limit is and now that you have the information natural usbcs are over 30 Watts well you can make your decision with that information next up we have a SSD for your car's dash cam Century mode all Teslas come standard with a Tesla branded 128 gigabyte USB stick I highly highly recommend swapping this out I've seen way too many people's dash cams slash Sentry mode being super laggy Skippy frames or just straight up not working because they're still using the Tesla branded USB stick it's super slow and not to mention 128 gigabytes is going to get filled up pretty quick I personally use and recommend the Samsung t7 SSD it's an external like portable SSD and if you really never want to run out of storage then you can get these in like 500 one terabyte or even two terabyte models now there is the argument of the Samsung t7s or really any external portable SSD of their operational temperature the t7's operational temp is 42 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit but like I said said that's the operational temp so if you're let's say at home in your garage with Century mode awful then well it's no longer operating in the non-operational temp is much more vast some reports show anywhere from negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit for me personally I'm never really out too long with my car parked in extreme temperatures and at home I already have cameras in my garage so I don't need my Sentry mode going and if I'm driving along and it's super hot or super cold out well I have the HVAC system on so yeah but if you're really worried because you live in a location that experiences extreme temperatures then just go with an endurance micro SD card but for anyone wondering kind of my long-term review of the t7 I used it all winter all summer it got down to below zero it got up to above 100 and it was completely fine it's still kicking next up mud flaps or mud guards my stance on these hasn't really changed Tesla Payne is still pretty bad at especially toward the bottom of the car which is what mud flaps are designed to protect if you live in a place that gets a lot of snow salt or just has a lot of rocks on the road and you don't plan on getting ppf then go with a beefier style mud flap I have had personal experience with rally armors and I really recommend them but on the flip side if you do plan on getting ppf and it's a good quality ppf then you can go with the smaller much better looking mud flaps now if you live in an area that doesn't experience what I just mentioned and you still want to get mud flaps then you can just go with the smaller mud flaps you don't need the big beefy ones if you live in like Florida or something also you could totally just roll with ppf and no mud flaps at all also do not go with mud flaps that require you to drill holes in your Tesla there's way too many really good screwless mud flaps to be drilling holes in your car on the flip side though just about every screwless mud flap uses a latching mechanism to actually attach itself to your car so you don't got to screw holes in it and because it lasts to your car well you will need to apply a little piece of ppf where it actually latches to the paint you want to do this because dirt will build up where it latches onto the paint and then that dirt as it kind of slowly moves around will eventually start scratching your paint this is only a problem for the model 3 as the model y has like the plastic trim around it and the mud flap just attaches to the plastic so you don't got to worry about it but for the model 3 make sure you put a little tiny bit of ppf Right Where It attaches next up is going to be tint slash ppf hint is 100 a must these cars are literally fish bowls without tint there's a lot of glass letting a lot of light in get tin if you're curious what I have well I'm going to plead the fifth and say just shoot me a DM over on Twitter and I'll give you the rundown because I don't feel comfortable disclosing that information here now for ppf and well I can make a whole video debating that so I'll just say that if you have the money for it burning a hole in your pocket well then sure go for it let me know your all's opinion on P EPF down below now for number eight we have charging adapters I believe that all Teslas still come with a j1772 adapter at delivery but if you didn't get one I recommend you get one j1772 Chargers are mainly found at places like hotels national parks amusement parks and parking garages Etc they don't charge super fast but for overnight stays they will get you from zero to 100 battery and most of the time it's completely complementary also the j1772 adapter doesn't have a locking mechanism so make sure you get yourself one of those Karen locks to prevent people from just walking up and unplugging your car the other adapter that I highly recommend is going to be the newly released at least here in the US CCS adapter I know 250 dollars to get one of these things might seem pretty steep but I mean it opens you up to literally all of the Electrify America infrastructure plus the other ones that are coming in and putting ccs is their main plug it's really handy if superchargers are full the rates are really high or there just isn't a supercharger around you not to mention EA gives out a ton of free charging in fact my very first Electrify America charging session with the CCS adapter was completely free now yes them handing out free charging might be due to the fact that their systems aren't the most reliable but hey 10 to 15 free charging sessions and well the adapter has already paid for itself okay now for an accessory that I thought was a complete gimmick and everyone recommending it was just full of it a rotating screen mount my original opinion on the rotating screen Mount was well the old s had a screen that was pointed toward the driver but those were vertical and it was different than the new snx refresh came out and those had horizontal screens but they were just flat they didn't Point toward the driver so my opinion was still not worth it then a few months into the newly refreshed SN X either they added the actual parts for it to happen or a software update but somewhere along the lines the S and the X the new refreshed ones got the ability to actually rotate the screens left and right via a motorized mechanism so at that point I thought okay if Tesla is putting this in their highest tier Vehicles let me see what it's all about and can I just say my God it completely changed the way the car felt to drive with the screen in its normal position it kind of just feels like information for everyone in the car and not the driver's information I know it sounds weird but just listen with the screen rotated towards you it just makes it feel more personalized for you the driver not to mention it can help with glare coming in from the passenger side windows or the back window if you've been on the fence about getting one get one it rotates 30 degrees left or right and then 15 degrees up or down if you have the new gen twos the Gin ones only go left or right but if you get the the Gen 2 then that means you can rotate it towards you and up which just makes it feel amazing the only bad thing about the rotating screen Mount is if you have a car with a gen 1 console so the glossy black center console the mount makes the screen sit about an inch and a half lower so your phone door like opening latch is only going to open about three-fourths of the way but everyone I've talked to that has the older center console says that it's still usable like the phone door uh and it's 100 worth it also wanted to quickly mention that if you're scared about taking the screen off don't be it takes 20 to 30 minutes you're just taking a few screws off one big thick wire that you literally can't break and then just popping a few things on and then you're done you can even switch back to the original Mount that came with the car in case you're taking it into Tesla and you're worried that they might say something but from what I've seen they don't care and it doesn't affect your warranty now our second to last accessory is kind of going to be a two-piece safety set I guess you could say first is jackpot ads so you can safely Jack the car up yourself or if you need roadside assistance and the company that's helping you doesn't know anything about Teslas and they don't have Jack pads you need Jack pads to prevent battery damage because you can't jack these cars up like a normal car just keep these bad boys in your car the second is going to be a tire inflator I got the one from Apex because it was small and compact it has a flashlight built in and it also acts as a battery bank for your phone in case you ever need to charge it or something and your car has died or whatever I've been using this for over a year now and it's worked flawlessly you've probably seen other YouTubers that have been sponsored by Apex I am not sponsored and I could totally just wait for them to like reach out to me to ask to sponsor a video and then get one of these for like free or something but I bought it with my own money and I thoroughly enjoy it which is why I'm recommending it and now lastly we have cleaning supplies I'm gonna link all the ones I recommend down below and no it's not some no name off brand it's essentially mainly Owen our products and then like the rag Company products I made a whole video on how to properly wash your Tesla it's rinseless but not the two bucket system because I find that system to be a complete waste of time water and there's just a much much better method uh check out the video below for more information on that and that method but those are my top 11 actually like 20 though must have Tesla accessories nothing too crazy and I actually use like all of this stuff every time I drive the car or at least most of it like I mean I'm not going to be using the tire inflator or the Jack pads every day but you kind of get what I'm saying now for everyone that did make it to the end well I do have that discount code that I mentioned earlier uh test stuffs Black Friday is going to be 20 off everything and that starts for you right now just pop in promo code YouTube all caps and you'll get 20 off literally everything we got all the essentials and some more crazy stuff like the 18 inch Uber turbine wheel covers uh we've had such a hard time I'm keeping those in stock but we just got a fresh shipment in we only ship to the us as of right now and everything is one to five day shipping but thank you all so much for watching if you're new around here and you want to see more Tesla related content like this then feel free to subscribe I'd appreciate it don't forget to drop a like if you enjoyed the video and I will catch you all in the next one peace
