weird stuff happens in the gaming world all the time a game ranks is always here to commit it to the historical record hi folks its Falcon and today I'm game rings weird gaming stories that happen in June 2020 starting off at number 10 we all know that the PlayStation 5 console reveal happened recently and KFC decided they wanted to get in on the fun by announcing a fake console with a chicken compartment that warms the chicken for you using the heat the console itself generates also it seems to have heating coils in it which would be counterintuitive because if you're playing games you don't want to I mean just used I'm talking like an engineer now I shouldn't be doing that this is obviously a parity and the logistics don't matter although some people were actually fooled by it I did see people fooled by it don't be fooled by stuff like this this is I mean it's a funny parity I very much enjoyed this true 4k 120 FPS also all white meat premium 10-piece thank you very much not gonna beat Popeyes sandwich though don't even try at number 9 I I don't know what to make of this still I don't know how to explain it to you I don't I don't know what this is I've tried to track down what this ad is for I can't but I mean just watch this [Music] you get why you get why I'm speechless you understand why that makes no sense at all to me what is that I mean we can't not include that but it's just like a dude beating up a bunch of women and then basically kidnapping them there are implications there but it's hilarious but it's it's definitely disturbing at the same time and at number 8 moving on from that total brain melting and on to just horror an artist by the name of Miguel Vasquez drew toad as a human being now it's been said that he's been drawn as a photorealistic human being I think that's arguable very detailed pretty realistic but I don't think there's anything like that in real life that is horrified he's dude without nose wearing a mushroom on his head the mushroom is partially decomposing that's what makes the white spots on it he's kind of a chubby fella and he's a very hairy fella it's uh he's nightmare fuel let's just say at number seven the FDA approved a specific video game for treating ADHD in children now this is the first time this has happened it's definitely not the first game that's designed around ADHD I mean oh there's a lot of games that harness the lack of attention span that a person has in order to kind of dip them to it but this goes the opposite direction to such an extent that it is treated as though it's a form of therapy and it requires a prescription so they're very official about this which i think is kind of weird honestly I feel like having to have a prescription to play a video game especially if the video game could help a person in some way feels I feels weird to me I don't like it but I do like the innovative approach here it's a game that is designed around through a kind of virtual cognitive behavioral therapy which hey that's great do that I mean that's a great idea I love that why not make it like $15 on Steam I understand that the FDA approval definitely lends legitimacy to what they're doing with it but I also feel like the other route probably would have helped more people long-term that's not to criticize the creators of the game by any means but more to criticize the world we live in that this is weird if a video game can treat something that should be good that should be normal let that happen man at number 6 Nintendo issued a cease-and-desist for a switch mod ship installation service somebody in Connecticut was doing the service of soldering and mod chips keeping in mind very very specifically that they were not selling the mod chips just the service which is technically a warranty voiding procedure but in Tendo said they're not going to tolerate such quote baldly unlawful conduct and sure well I guess a mod ship probably helps people violate laws and that it allows somebody to play pirated games I don't know that the mod ship itself is Eve something you could call illegal but especially if you're not selling them if you're just installing them like technically you could do this and never pirate a game hell you could buy a modchip and never pirate a game there are other reasons to have a modchip cheating which as far as I know isn't punishable by law playing homebrew games which I don't know how active that community is on the switch I really have no idea people like running alternate operating systems on hardware that is not designed for I mean stuff that really isn't piracy so Nintendo's characterization of it is baldly unlawful I feel is kind of weird when the only established consequence for modding up switch or whatever is violating the warranty and some people are fine with that because they want to do something different like just ban them from your services that's about what you guys don't think that you can call the police for this at number five people are importing things to games that are weird for instance people ported the PT everyone's favorite semi demo of a Kojima game to half-life Alex what I particularly liked was adding firearms to The Witcher though I actually didn't even ever think about that wouldn't this be fun if you had a gun but it it is it actually is fun if you haven't gone in The Witcher in some respects both of these I think are ones where I would just kind of go like I wouldn't have thought of doing that and the fact that somebody did it is pretty cool it's a little weird just because I mean would you have thought to do either of these things particularly The Witcher gun 1 tryout to which a gun one that's all I'm saying I think you'll like it at number four a gaming hero the most famous eSports player in China League of Legends player boozy had to quit he retired because he said at age 23 he had developed type 2 diabetes because he'd been staying up late for years and beating a not-so-great diet which is entirely possible he did attempt to change his work schedule and taken medicine for it but there was an improvement to his condition there's some speculation that he had a gaming addiction or gaming disorder as world Health Organisation puts it social media lauded him as a national hero and kind of lamented the idea that this took such a toll on him but China's state media sort of walked a finer line because China is super super concerned with what they call gaming disorder of course I'm not gonna go ahead and say here like I think he should have kept playing if it actually was detrimental to his health but as a professional I do feel as though somebody could have been attempting to take care of him like here's a question I think that we could be asking is there gonna be such thing as like maybe some kind of perhaps trainer / maintainer that could help professional gamers not get into that situation like I feel like a professional competitive gamer is not a bad thing to be so how do we prevent them from getting into that situation I haven't actually seen a lot of people ask that question which is you know weird and number three a Singaporean gamer learned to make RPGs during the lockdown Singapore's lockdown is specifically called circuit breaker and Justin Hui a Singaporean gamer who always wanted to make a video game learned how to use RPG Maker and made a game based on his experiences in lockdown it's actually pretty cool you have to get essential items for your family while avoiding enforcers and acquiring things like a mask so that you're actually able to go into places I don't know it's actually clever and surprisingly true to a lot of Americans experiences in my opinion while there's no point where a wine mom posts a photo of you not in a mask on Facebook it's still fun that a guy took about 50 hours to learn RPG maker and made a game I wish more of us would do that actually because wouldn't it be a fun way to communicate with each other like through games it speaks kinda to the democratization of making games - at number two Ubisoft gods and monsters leaked as an unfinished prototype to stadia which all right wasn't aware that was gonna be a thing that started happening on these services no complaints as we've said many times in this channel the game has some pretty obvious breath of the wild influence but it's also very very prototype II there's not a lot going on the weird part about this isn't necessarily the game itself I actually God's Monsters is probably cool fun interesting but like leaking something to stadia is like the thing that you would never think would happen look have you ever heard of Netflix leaking something to its service no you haven't not one time I've never heard anything like that if it's happened it certainly didn't get enough attention that more than a few people saw it and frankly I've wanted to happen more that's great leak all of your craft to stadia developers let us try everything way ahead of time on this weird streaming service and finally at number one a cool type weird one technology is shrinking down VR displays to sunglasses sighs and I really like the sound of that I do not love wearing massive VR helmets I do actually kind of like VR though what's the solution finding a way to make the text smaller but what's interesting is that it does it through Holograms rather than through screens I mean in theory this could be the thing that makes BR the mainstream thing that it could have been years ago do I hate the PS VR or the oculus rift Ernie that no but they're still bulky too bulky for me to really want to spend large amounts of time in VR so frankly I can't wait like do it Facebook trap me inside your virtual worlds actually and the more I think about it it's scary that Facebook is doing it but you know whatever the world ended back in 2012 anyways that's all the weirdness we can handle for
