video game stories are meant to be high drama and while gamers are not fond of cheaters neither are spouses hi folks it's falcon and today on game ranks 10 games where your lover betrays you starting off at number 10 it's gta 5's marriage counseling mission let's start with probably the most well-known bit of cheating in maybe any video game ever in gta 5 a big part of the plot revolves around michael one of the three playable characters being unhappy with his life he doesn't have much to do and his family kind of hates him including his trophy wife amanda who's pretty open about cheating on him one of the first missions of the game is this one called marriage counseling where michael's well walking in on his wife walking in on what you would say uh screwing around with the tennis coach and a rage michael chases the guy out who pretty amusingly jumps through the window for some reason instead of just like leaving down the stairs i mean it's funny the whole incident actually kind of kick-starts the whole plot of the game after that michael finds where the guy is hiding and in an act of revenge completely destroys the mansion he's hiding in problem being it wasn't actually that guy's mansion it belonged to a mistress of a cartel crime boss who isn't exactly happy about his property being destroyed the dude wants over 2 million bucks meaning michael's got to get back into a life of crime yes this is a game where your wife cheating on you starts up the central plot it's not even the only time it's implied that she's cheating either later you do a mission where it's heavily suggested that she's screwing around with her yoga instructor yeah michael just can't catch a break and number nine in the sims 4 when the sims cheat technically this one isn't exactly you because you in the case of the sims is an uncaring god who can improve or ruin the little sims lives of the present button but many people like to make themselves in the sims or control a single character they identify with the sims is basically all about relationships family business friends big part of the game is going on on dates getting married making friends and enemies all that stuff and because of the i mean surprisingly sophisticated ai i'm not gonna say you'd want to power a space program on this thing but yeah your sims actually don't make the best choices for themselves which is more realistic because people are more like that and sometimes they just do some nasty stuff so yeah your sims wife or husband can and will cheat on you totally on their own sometimes and if your sim is around to see it they will get pissed there are actually a lot of ways a sim can catch another one screwing around behind their back they can catch their partner on a date sleeping in the same bed or doing any romantic interactions while the other is around hell if one finds some flowers around from the affair they'll actually notice it and get mad and if you do catch your sims partner cheating the effect is usually the same someone is gonna get slapped funnily enough it is possible to cheat on a ghost like if a sim dies and the survivor starts up a new relationship the ghost will get pissed at that sim at number eight in the witcher 3 it takes three to tango this is more a case where you're the one doing the cheating but it's such an amusing scene we couldn't not mention it in the witcher 3 there's basically two major romance options trish the redheaded sorceress who was geralt's main squeeze from the previous two witcher games and yennefer the lost love that geralt has been searching for all this time now for most normal players you're gonna pick which of the two geralt confesses love to most games don't give you the option of saying you love more than one person but this game it does maybe you want geralt to play the field a little or whatever but telling the both of them that you're their one and only it doesn't work out which is funny near the end of the game and only if you manage to romance both jennifer and tris you'll get this quest called it takes three to tango at first it seems like a pretty sweet offer instead of being mad at geralt for the infidelity they act like they're totally into it that's when the handcuffs come out and yeah the two of them are actually playing a prank on you they leave geralt chained to the bed overnight to think about what a cat he is and you end up losing both of them as romantic partners of course the two of them also being sorceresses things could be a lot worse so all things considered they took it pretty well as far as bad ends for romance subplots though it's probably the most amusing at number 7 is red dead redemption 2 where drunk john marston tries to cheat yes this is a case of a husband attempting to cheat on the wife but premise is the same in fact i would hope that this is as much of an affront to you regardless of gender cheating sucks funny enough though all this happens when you're playing is arthur not when you play as john later in the game so the whole scene is a weird thing where a character you play as is doing something i guess most people wouldn't approve of but you're not actually playing as them at the time it's confusing so let's just get into it early on in red dead 2f you get the horseshoe overlook camp there's a small scene that will sometimes play out where a young john marston flirts with karen one of the girls in the gang it doesn't exactly go his way she blows him off as drunk and reminds him of his commitment to abigail the mother of his son in his defense he does realize he's being an idiot but still not a good look especially compared to the john marston most players know from the original red dead redemption this is a younger much more sloppy john marston and in the original when he played as john it was impossible to have an affair he refused to spend time with prostitutes and rebuked any advances because of his dedication to his wife in red dead redemption 2 we see john change from being the kind of pathetic guy he starts as to being the decent dude players remember from the first game and this scene actually shows how much he actually evolves at number six is crusader kings three even a king isn't good enough the crusader kings games are really interesting because while they're all about grand strategy and mostly set on a big map where you have to make huge decisions about the future of an entire kingdom there's also a large social aspect for the whole thing you got dukes courtiers and all sorts of nobles and family members they all have a mind of their own you all have to placate every one of them and that includes your wife to be accurate to the period the game is set in a lot of time is spent on arranging marriages for political benefit and because of that there's going to be a lot of people in unhappy unions up to and including your own character yes this is a grand strategy game where your wife can cheat on you and it isn't a totally uncommon thing that'll only happen if you make your king or queen unhappy there's a ton of behind the scenes factors that go into what drives a partner to cheat in the game you meet the wealthiest king in the world who is adored by your family and subjects and your queen will still run around behind your back with a duke or a lower noble as shown by this reddit post by tangri all the way hilariously called why is my wife cheating on me yes this one is for crusader kings 2 but it's actually more common in three like check out this forms post complaining about all the adultery going on i'm not sure if this whole thing has been fixed or adjusted at this point but apparently many games would see more than half the nobles in europe having more bastards than legitimate heirs i mean what is this westeros and number five in sleeping dogs your girlfriend cheats on you it is a good old-fashioned classic example of your girlfriend cheating on you too sleeping dogs basically gta in hong kong and the game gives you a few different options for characters to date most of these scenes are pretty minor and they don't really have a lot of effect one of the bigger ones though is for this one girl tiffany kim who you meet during the events of the main story she works at this karaoke bar and it's possible to start up a relationship with her despite the main dude wei shenz terrible singing later on it's possible to date a girl just called not ping she actually never says her name and if you do in a jealous rage tiffany will begin seeing other men it's possible to get clued in on this for her final appearance you can actually have a bug in a pay phone to find out what she's doing and after listening in you can tail her in her car and confront her meeting with another guy she reveals she's just doing it to get back at you for cheating on her though so i mean fair probably the darkest thing about all this is after this little event tiffany is no longer a plot important character meaning if you want you can kill her which is a little extreme don't you think and number four is isaac getting dumped in dead space 3. the dead space series is all about visceral horror and grotesque monsters and with dead space 3 like a lot of relationship drama way more than you would ever expect for anything like it yeah dead space 3 gets kind of a bad rap i want to just completely say that like the game itself is fun there's a lot of bloat a lot of stuff doesn't need to be there but it can be fun part of the bloat the writing their writing can be it's it's pretty rough sometimes especially when it gets into the whole isaac ally norton love triangle i think let me just repeat that dead space 3 a game in a series it's mostly about stomping mutated corpses into hamburger has a pretty significant portion of its story dedicated to a love triangle and it is weird i'll recap a bit in dead space you play as an engineer named isaac second game you meet this woman named ellie langford who ends up being an ally with only a slightly romantic edge to their interactions now you jump forward to dead space 3 apparently in between these games ellie and isaac hooked up then they broke up and she's with this dude named robert norton who's big ol for some reason and really likes to remind you that him and ali are together honestly this dude has literally no redeeming qualities about him and he survives for way too long because of these things so while you're desperately trying to survive you have to endure these awkward conversations about isaac and ellie's relationship all while this goofball norton blunders in and big dogs you constantly it's ridiculous it's i mean genuinely silly and number three the walking dead where lee kills a senator you probably forgot about this one um the very first scene of the very first episode of telltale's the walking dead the first thing we see is the main character lee everett in the back of a police car why is he there well because he's hardcore man he murdered a senator who was sleeping with his wife and he's not some criminal or anything he's a history professor at the university of georgia before all this the reason it's easy to forget is because pretty much immediately after we learn all this basically none of it matters because civilization is over the zombie apocalypse hits and everything's just a battle for survival so i mean screw the senator the backstory does do a lot to explain lee everett as a character though he seems mild-mannered and decent but he does have a violent side to him in fact you could pretty much describe a lot of walking dead characters that way as the story plays out he finds a girl named clementine and becomes a protector and that uncomfortable bit of backstory just sits there leaving you to wonder what he's truly capable of at number 2 in fable 3 when your child doesn't match here's a bit of infidelity you will never even see it might even just be a bug but either way it's pretty obvious and it is also hilarious when you get married in the fable series it is possible to have children which of course makes sense but for whatever reason this entire feature is either really buggy or just really weird in fable 3. because to quote the fable wiki there is a very common occurrence where your child will end up looking completely different from either you or your wife you know those trashy tv shows where they do the dna test to determine if someone's the father of a baby with a completely different skin tone it's basically that in a fantasy video game so your supposedly loyal wife has been messing around with behind your back and if the wikis to be believed this happens almost all the time that means that a majority of players who get married in fable 3 get cheated on and number one text murphy under a killing moon what is this i mean you probably have no idea what this is do you tex murphy was actually a fairly well regarded series of pc games in the 90s even if they're mostly forgotten today in them you play as duh a guy named tex murphy but he's a private eye and he has one of the all-time cliches that you find in private eye stories his wife had left him now normally a dude complaining about his ex-wife wouldn't really be enough to earn him a spot on this list but for some strange reason if you examine a picture on the desk in texas office it will show you the entire flashback scene where a texas wife is trying to seduce the repairman this whole thing has to be seen to be believed it's bizarre it's incredibly goofy and it goes on way longer than you think or what is essentially a one joke premise like the part where tex reacts in cartoonish exasperation catching his wife in the act it it's just it is it is my chef's kiss level stuff i i i want to know if this qualifies is so bad it's good it's definitely something as are most of these to be frank whatever that thing is i'm interested in what you think leave us a comment let
