in that way and so yes and mom same thing it's like i've been a stay-at-home dad i've been a teacher all these roles that i wouldn't have been that i have new respect for so here we go welcome you they're friends from social world and we have people from long beach and we have people on from that netherlands of cecilia netherlands we have people on from kernville california all the way in kermville that's a long ways away san diego's in the house bob san diego besides you right beside you you guys please tell us where else you're coming in from and also what career you're involved with just so we can get a grid for who's calling in and what career you're going after and so we can also pray for you as we're going we're advancing the marketplace today sean we are we're believing for something really specifically yeah yeah i think i think it's pretty exciting we when you when you prophesied that word to me or told me the impression that the word uh that the lord gave you about the next major move of god coming from marketplace leaders i really got me excited and i think um i'm just so humbled and proud to be part of this with you i i'm so excited too bob and how would i have known in 2000 i bet that's it 2018 and 19 i was saying that a lot in 2019 when we talked about it i had no idea that just in 2021 i would have such a radical shift from my tenurent ministry to online and media industry we just produced our show with tbn i'm producing a movie right now we're doing a tv show a mainstream tv show mainstream movie and so i had no idea that so much of my life would have shifted into the marketplace when i had the word back in 2018 and 19. so for me it's like it's so cool that sometimes you become a fulfillment of your own word you start to walk out something prophetically for the people around you you've been in a mainstream career for 45 plus years been going for it and just had some of the biggest years of your whole life yeah and why a lot of people had a hard time doing chronovirus you were working on some of the biggest contracts that are dream contracts for somebody who's in the paint industry it's a so the biggest contract city we can get in america over the last you know three years and it's just been so cool to watch god do that with you at the same time as you becoming a voice to the the church or god moving in the marketplace so i really like how we're paralleling in the marketplace journey that we're doing things and we're seeing things happen and we're seeing breakthrough happen that we're trying to impart faith and belief for everybody else so i think that's really exciting i think it's exciting too and i think you know as you and i have worked together i've gotten to watch the instinct that you have as a businessman as a minister as a prophetic voice as as a dad as a as a stay-at-home dad sometimes during you know i've gotten to watch all this in you and and this instinct that god has blessed you with obviously and the voice the way that you hear his voice coming through is just so appropriate for the marketplace and and i think that as we move forward um you know i'm seeing i'm seeing somebody's a publisher and a writer and a b2b marketer and an artist um engineer training consultant yeah painting contractor you got a friend i got i got my my people your people on here this is good so yeah so i think that's so great and i agree with you bob because there's something about um us respecting each other like i really love your journey you and lauren have inspired tree and i so much to grow just by being our friends just being around you because of your life and how you've developed your life it's impartable and contagious and so as i've been around the last couple years just things inside of us that have changed and grown both street and i we both feel sometimes you data sometimes you big brother as sometimes you're just our buddy and i love that about you i just love that about your heart and what's cool is that when we wrote our book which is called wired to here which is why we're doing this event we wrote our book i felt like it was a book that was conversations between two people who are exploring the subject about what god's doing in the marketplace and how to partner to him how to see the metrics change how to see transformation but really how to stay connected to intimacy with god and believing that we're called to hear from god in these places of career and that's what's been so profound and powerful so as you and i went on that journey of discussions that turned into play them on the podcast and answer them it's really really cool isn't it yeah and one of the coolest parts about how this has evolved is we went from knowing we're supposed to write this book and we're in the pre-launch space so we'll talk about that at the end and going let's give away some grants to people and a thousand dollars is a lot of money but it's not a lot of money it's a lot of money because everybody needs money right now but it's not a lot of money because it's not going to solve one of the major business problems for most people but it's something about a ministry like ours saying we're going to give you something because we believe in you we're going to do this as a seed from heaven invested into you what happened was i mean this is phenomenal we had 700 people so far apply for a business grant that's phenomenal that shows you how many people are saying we need that belief we need that prayer we need that connection and i just thought like wow this is creating a little bit of a movement because now we're connected to 700 people that are entrepreneuring or starting businesses or or launching a new phase of their business that we need to have a conversation with and we get to see some coaching and development happen with and that's just the first fruits of you know our journey of saying like let's go for it these we got a chance to read you know a lot of these grant requests and they're so precious people out there are doing so many amazing things and one of the things that you know i think we should start off with is entrepreneuring is hard what are you talking about if it was easy everyone would do it it's hard so everyone out there who is has their own business has started their own businesses bootstrapping a business is dreaming about a business it is going to be probably the most fulfilling road that you ever go on and the bumpiest it is i'm reading some of the comments here and like jackie crone is talking about how beasley she's talking about how she's a flower farmer and florist which shree has just planted um how many about like 300 flower bush plants and bushes around the property like david austin roses and peonies and uh um i forgot what they're called she would know if they were here but all these different you know types of things lilacs everything and she's she's doing some stuff on instagram and tiktok and just our startup for cherise media and stuff it's so fulfilling but it's so such hard work like you put blood sweat and tears into every project that you're saying and i love when there's christians community that comes around and says i see you i see god in you i see like i see you jackie with those flowers and what you're doing with jesus and trying to bring about his beauty on the earth and trying to touch people's lives and their key moments through weddings and through funerals and through beautiful moments and holidays and commemorating and that being a florist is such a prophetic act like being and so many of the roles we're in can be such a spiritually rooted grounded thing and that's one of the reasons why you know we like to speak into this is because we get to highlight those stories through our podcast we get to do the lives you know we do marketplace lives usually every thursday where we answer questions of business people and entrepreneurs i mean i think and career career-minded people because we have a lot of lawyers on the show and doctors and you know whatever we have all these different wide variety but i think it's really interesting where i feel like a lot of people haven't been seen in the church and they haven't been validated that this role is truly something that god would have designed in the garden with adam and eve like there's so many roles on the earth right now that god originally intended you know that for us to have and even being a doctor a healer it's like when we get to heaven you may we may not need doctors anymore but there's things that are in that skill set that are redemptive that will carry on into eternity and i think that that's we don't always see what we're doing here's a dress rehearsal for heaven and it's so important it's so important i just saw adolfo go through here his job is a debt elimination and then wealth creation how cool is that oh um you know help us out i want more than talking about the garden and in genesis 2 uh god breathes life into adam and then the very next scripture he he says go tend to the garden or go to work and it's a beautiful piece of god's heart for work ethic and grit and determination and and here's here's adam um the garden is the first temple if you will and he's worshiping in the temple by tending to the garden i i love right now i'm like looking at some of the people like uh teresa's saying both my inventions are in patent pending and then we have someone else just saying i'm a sound uh kevin fix there's a sound engineer but there's no live event so i'm having to switch things up that's a lot of us are having to switch things up and when you think of god giving adam not a commandment and not like the curse of toiling but that the gift of being able to work and enjoy work if you enjoy working just raise your hand right now one of the rooms or just say yes because there's something about how god wired us that we're wired to work with him and we're wired to hear him to do our work and that's the thing that bob and i are trying to establish is god made you to fulfill a role but he made you to do it with him not for him and a lot of work hauls and a lot of the identity issues and those kinds of things happen when those when there becomes an imbalance or it becomes a priority shift that's the wrong priority shift and therefore when stuff like covet happens there's a you know sometimes the floor drops out of your business or you're out of your career and if you're not grounded and rooted in god and faith then the floor drops out of your life as well but if you're rooting ground of a god everything that can be shaken will and you're shaken but the god part of you stands strong and that's what i love about writing a book like this bob in covid and also creating this message curating this message that you and i are saying let's let's help drive the narrative to the faith-based groups because it's been a while since we've had groups like ours our podcast trends on the top 100 podcasts in christianity in almost every english-speaking countries every every year i mean every week sorry we're here every week so that means there hasn't been a conversation like this that's widespread since maybe full gospel was in its full range or whatever there's there's all these other groups that are doing things but this podcast hits people and we're creating conversation and narrative that may not have been what people are hearing at their local church although their local churches are wonderful they're not necessarily geared towards helping career-minded individuals or entrepreneurs grow other than just basic christianity so i love that we've gone after this and i love that this is our passion together it's just so exciting to me it's super exciting and we as we've done this as we traveled around in 2019 and did business events we started to see business groups and churches and we started to see different people we would run into that had this business mindset i i got saved at the end of the jesus movement and so i was young in business and of course like the only place that i would get invited to would be like the full gospel businessman's totally totally and so here i was 20 i don't know 5 26 28 something like that and i'm i'm putting on a i'm getting out of my painting clothes and putting on a coat and a tie and going into a ballroom and i'm sitting around looking at people with with top coat and ties on and you know you're sitting around this round table you don't know anybody and it what it was is a networking event and you know i networking isn't isn't really like cold calling isn't my thing yeah so i would sit there like this and then somebody would come up and give a message that was maybe appropriate for some people but not for me and i'd walk out thinking oh well is this it like is this what i'm gonna go to yeah so when we started doing this together our events were cool and relevant i thought and i thought that i liked them well and there's really good events out there now for the first time but there's just not enough of them there's not enough peer-to-peer support and crowdsource support for people who are saying i'm going to bring my relationship with god and what i'm hearing through my career and i'm going to believe that my career is like a joseph daniel or esther and i'm going to bring breakthrough and transformation for the world around me but also for the people of god and so i think you know for those of you who are wondering um one of the reasons why we're doing all that we're doing is because we're we're believing for that message because god's preparing people to be a joseph or an esther right now and it's going to be one of the most important roles like there's i've been a pastor a senior pastor as a senior pastor i could not have the impact that i can have as a movie producer it's just different now i could in the sense of the church world has a perfect impact but as far as what the impact i want to have on society or in the world around me now pastors have wonderful support and they have wonderful uh callings and my best friends jennifer and honey took over a local church i think of their transformative voice i'm like i wouldn't want that to go anywhere else it needs to be helping to bring justice and creativity and a voice of love to the church but there's something that's been missing as the church as lance walnut says has gone after the religious mountain and we've missed all the other mountains of influence and now that conversation is no longer i mean it's so relevant that we all know we need to impact society we need to impact every sphere of influence but it's time to get positioned it's time to believe that god is now positioning people so i just want to pray for you before we go on and we're going to talk a little bit about the book and then we're going to give away our first grant we're going to give you an opportunity to sign up for grant still because we still have some we're giving away and we're also going to tell you uh we're also going to do a question and answer time i'm looking at right now so we have our first grant winner is going to be on with us in just a minute so let me pray for you again if you guys could uh tell us what you're working on or what you're what you're believing for just so we could partner our faith we have some of our prayer team and team on right now who will be praying specifically and believing for you guys but holy spirit we pray over our friends on our mentoring platform over facebook over youtube over at twitter anywhere this is going god would you release your voice and that great measure god and the measure that we need to hear you let us hear god if you've given us great faith we need more partnership with you which means we need more interaction thank you for if we receive prophetic words or if we've received that instinct that we know what we're doing is from you but lord would you add to it a clear pathway of your voice and connectivity so we're not just doing something for you we're doing something with you the entire time god you've wired us to know you to hear your voice on the deepest core level and it's not always a disruptive voice we love the james earl jones voice sometimes it's just the inner guidance the inner wiring helps us to go the way we're supposed to go and i pray an infusion of your spirit god those prophetic gifts that way of seeing that intuition that instinct lord let us embrace the process of walking with you through hearing your voice and knowing you god and teach us how to do this if we need to know lord let us grab every tool we can until we get to a place where we're satisfied with our ability to hear you and know you in our industry in our career in our family in our life god i just pray for people who are on right now that you'd bless their talents lord that talents would become places of opportunity and places of business god i pray that you bless new efforts and new endeavors even as so many people had to shift including me pivot into this new season after coronavirus lord would you bless the pivots bless those hinge moments bless that that coming into the new bless that next thing and if we don't have the next thing in our grade yet lord thank you that you're gonna hover over us with hope that you're gonna cause us to be a prisoner of hope like it says in zechariah 9 i think it's 12 or 17. god i pray you'd make us a prisoner of hope right now lord for those who are already being blessed lord i thank you for people like bob hassan i love that bob is on here that he's already been blessed multiply the blessing god multiply the blessing those who are already in a career that's already exponentially growing let the growth be so much that they can't even imagine it's ephesians 320 beyond what could be hopeful or imagine and bob and i impart to all of you who are watching any gift we have anything that we have to give we believe in the transference of the spiritual gifts we believe the holy spirit leaps from one to the other and dwells in you and i pray that if any of you have never been prayed for for a prophetic anointing for your career we release the prophetic and hearing god's voice for your career and if any of you have never been uh had hands laid on you just put your hands up out of faith and i release over you as if we were face to face the gifts of the holy spirit especially that you might prophesy like it says in first corinthians 14 1 that you might prophesy that you would follow love but you'd eagerly desire spiritual gifts especially prophecy so you could be led to know jesus like ephesians 1 17 better and i'm believing for not only impartation but dreams visions and encounters that will set your career apart from everyone else we pray that right now even as you did that over and over in israel you did it for joseph you did it for daniel you did it for moses lord do it again for us we stand like habakkuk and say lord i stand in all of what you've done for everyone else but do it again in my day renew it for me and we stand here in a place of hunger and hope god for our career for our for transformation over our industry in jesus name oh amen wow i was carrying some prayer i was carrying it well i'm excited because we i believe this we're carrying that you know that that furnace that fire you know for this and i just want to um i just want to get really excited about our our guest who's coming on in just a minute theresa john who um wrote in and she was one of the ones who applied for the grant and it was funny because you and jeremy read the grants first and uh jeremy who runs organization and jeremy's the one who's like i really feel something on teresa's you know prophetically that we're supposed to partner our faith with her that there's something about this for her life and what she's doing and what i love is that i would have picked a creative person most likely because of how i'm wired first too but she's a photographer does a lot of events weddings sean she this is really cool she has a business called the sun drop village and she she does weddings and events it's so awesome like she's gonna tell us what she does but the cool thing is is that she provides well she'll tell us she provides like furnishings and fixtures for the events to make it really special yeah even some of the things she wrote in there i'm like i need to see her photos like we haven't seen her photos yet and i need to see her photos i'm so excited so let's bring teresa are you ready i'm ready let's bring theresa john on teresa you're my tribe you're my people i'm so excited thank you well tell us tell us about your business tell us about where you're at and why you applied for the grant well um the name of the business is sundrop vintage and we do events in southern california we are located in san clemente just an hour from me and there you go yeah and um uh yeah so we provide um uh rentals for my daughter's gonna join because she um so we provide the rentals for weddings and baby showers and you name it that's awesome well one of the things you've written into do i say it again your daughter needs to move in your daughter hello there you go you guys are photographers you know how to put yourself on camera come on yeah not photographers oh okay your your rental for events yes i misunderstood that okay one of the things i love is that like you guys have like liberace's chairs garden chairs yeah i mean how cool is that it's really cool supposedly they were in his garden it's always like that you know it's always like that when you get those kinds of relics yeah but you guys just have beautiful stuff that you provide for moments in time and moments in history in people's lives which i think you know a lot of times when we think about jesus and how he walked and what he wants to do we don't think about the most beautiful thing he did was provide us with family and he provided us with moments of celebration and we have all the holidays that the jewish people would celebrate and still celebrate because he's about festivals and holidays he's about that celebration he's about you know i love the psychology of holiday and and the psychology of ritual the psychology of marriage and anniversary this all that is it's like our whole society is formed around the ritual of those things and yet the church a lot of times doesn't really do the even the easter is coming up right now and some people aren't doing more than just easter egg hunts you know i love the fact that when you feel called to do this kind of event business that you're creating those moments and you guys are christians driving into people's lives beauty and driving in their lives a commemorated moment that causes them to go back there like a lot of people when they're remembering their happiest moments in life it's at these kinds of events that you guys are helping to prop up so to speak so we were really inspired by um just what you put in the document we're so grateful to be able to partner our faith and pray for you guys and believe with you and we're going to pray for you in just a few minutes but bob what do you have to say theresa i wanted to say um we do lives and sean and i talk to lots and lots of people and we and we get a variation of of the same question which is how do you hear god in business how do you how are we wired to hear yeah and so your story what really touched me about your story is how you started your business and how the lord spoke to you and maybe you could speak to our listeners about how that happened yeah it's um well it's kind of like you know we're all we all wonder like what are we here for like we want to do something we want to be a part of something and there's kind of with my particular story there's many avenues that kind of kind of got me into this place where i'm at but the story that i wrote to you guys was um kind of the main story which is the hearst castle story and um i think and i'm a fifth generation californian and i have never heard of hearst castle you're kidding again but it was at midnight coming home from a play and um i just heard it i mean just that still small voice you know coming home from church and go to her's castle and i was like what's hers castle and um and the story's still unfolding it's not done and i it was christmas vacation and i told my husband we're gonna go to hearst castle and my kids were like what and um so crazy exactly you're not going to get a place to stay it's christmas break um but of course god's god yeah got a place to stay for five for five of us and um loaded up the car and headed to hearst castle and even walking the grounds i didn't know i didn't know what i was there for i just knew that i was being obedient yeah you know what i mean and um and it's been years and and god just leaves these bread crumbs for me and i think what he was one of the things that he was saying is see tree teresa see all this beautiful stuff you do events you can provide this for people and their events yeah it wasn't i didn't really think of it in that terms um doing events for people so to speak just maybe for myself and um and then i started anyways then i started going to estate sales but i do have to say in going to the estate sales um uh one time my my pastor's wife uh janet bjork we walked into an estate cell and i started crying wow and she was like why are you crying and i'm like because is this the end people just come into a house and you know and and pick through our stuff and but what i what was happening it was hitting that kind of broken area of loss in me and a little while later the lord changed my perspective into where i can now go into a house and i see beauty i see like the stuff that people left behind because we can't take it it now gets to bless others and there's stories behind some of those pieces that we get to tell no yeah well before we go i just want to just comment the fact that um you know going from an event space i'm sure doing events and going from your event space that was like i think it was 1200 square feet is that right and then it went to 2 400 square feet of yes it was 1200 well it was my driveway at first okay yeah and then it went to an amazon store i love it yeah and then it went to um i think it's 3 000 square feet and now we are moving in gonna be moving into i think eight thousand yeah that's awesome you guys yeah and that's just great we believe it and we believe that god is going to multiply especially because again events there's something about the life that um people need they need to touch they need the connection point whether it's for a corporate event or whether it's a marriage or whether it's a church event we need those moments and the fact that you guys are seeing the full picture i think is a real prototype and i think god's going to use you to share your story a whole lot more in different ways so i'm just so grateful that we get to partner with you with just a small gift and grant from our organization and what were you gonna say i interrupted you i was just gonna say the thing that i loved i loved your whole story and the heart behind it but i love the fact that you're gonna invest in some new pieces or a new piece and and that then you have a new story to talk about not only the peace but how it came about yeah and this is the legacy of god's goodness isn't it it sure is so well congratulations thank you thank you thanks for joining us and let's pray for let's pray for them real fast bob i'm just gonna teresa you didn't tell me your daughter's name i'm so sorry why ally i'm so sorry i don't like to not know names and i i missed that no i missed that queue a little bit ago yeah she does the curating of everything i do more of the sales aspect of the business you keep your mom squared away right no no i can't i was gonna say i bet you no one could keep her squared away she's probably like our wives father i know exactly bob and i don't know which way the wind's gonna blow because our wives are winning the holy spirit's win so it's it's well we pray god for teresa and ali and just join your faith on facebook or youtube or on a mentoring platform we pray for the next installment of what you have for them yes god to just be established we pray for the resources the right spaces and i just even have a sense that you're going to come into something that was saved and preserved for you yes that there's something like it's almost like coming into a whole estate but it's bigger than that that was saved and preserved for this purpose i feel like the lord's saying i've saved some things for this and it's going to be a miraculous um uh uh gift almost like a donation almost to come into your next season and i feel like there's gonna be people from like fashion industry who are gonna say we need some of your stuff or there's people from different industries where it's like we need this right now i feel like the lord's saying um uh you didn't despise the day of small beginnings so it's my joy to give you the next great installment and i feel like you're you're just gonna be blown away and i feel like there's a lot of um prophetically i feel like there's been a lot of harassment or hassle and steps of the journey it's like you guys will take like three steps forward and then you get harassed with um just just painful process that just is like just over administration and stuff that has to happen i feel like the lord's saying that there's grace to come into things without the harassment that you're going to feel a new grace a new level of grace that process is all you'll like that will go through where they just go through where it's not like there's 10 more added steps where things are going to be accelerated go ahead bob oh so lord we ask for sun drop vintage in southern california that you would bless them yes lord that your favor would be on them lord and that the destiny that you have called them into to provide legacy pieces for beauty and events would just explode god i ask for all the people to come along with them that they need we pray for the correct measured growth that you have the right professionals around them to help them with accounting distribution all the things that are going to happen from this blessing lord thank you for this beautiful mother and daughter the daughter carrying on with the mom's vision we just pray blessings over this business now in jesus name amen amen amen well thank you guys thank you so much we away more grants we're gonna about to do that aren't we bob we're about to do it and you know one of the things i love about our book is that this notion of the sacred versus the secular yeah i'm sort of like the the people who work in the church the pastors kind of this thing when i when i was saved you know it was it was sort of like you go to church and you give your money to the church and the church takes care of you and i love the church and i've been part of a church for 45 years and so i'm i'm so excited though as as the lord is revealing this sort of marketplace culture and the fact that we can be listening we can be wired to hear listening to god's voice everywhere we go we don't have to be compartmentalized we have to be isolated god's speaking to us in our place of business and just listening to teresa and ali listening to their heart of legacy listening to their heart of wanting to bless their clients is so beautiful to me because they come onto the scene at somebody's event and everything changes because the spirit of god is going before them well and they prevail prepared that even that ground of where they're doing the events like that it's just bathed in prayer you just think of no matter what it's for whether it's something that we believe and agree with as far as the event that's being hosted there or whether it's something that's totally outside of our grid it's like god's gonna be there and i just think of that like who knows who knows what will happen because a legacy of what they're building so we have this grant that we're multiple grants we're going to be doing and every thursday bob and i are going to be doing a live and we're going to be giving more grants aways until our book is released on may 4th so if you want to apply for a grant we have not picked all the people yet and we're still prayer perfectly sifting through the the 700 people have applied but one of the things bob that you had talked about when we were going through the grants or something that kept coming up kind of in your spirit and just you as a businessman it kept coming up over over and over it was one key statement that i thought was a good hint for those who are applying what was it i like when there's a question that says what will you use the money for and i like for example teresa said to buy new pieces and to be able to tell the story and and so i love the practical aspect of like what are you going to use the money for it's almost like you know sean you and i always talk about strategic planning when people are starting a business we're saying okay put a plan together yeah and when you put a plan together then it allows you to see visually or graphically on paper where where you're going what is god's heart for you well in this grant process for me when i'm reading through the grants and i see beautiful stories and there was so many beautiful stories um to finish it off for me was when i saw this statement this is what we're going to use the money for yes and so i think if you're that's a good hint for you if you're making uh a kind of you're filling out this application on bullsministries.com think about like be really intentional because that's what god wants to hear from you and also people who are working with finances resources and other ends of your job and the whole thing people are going to have contracts but they want to they want to hear that intentionality don't come across like i think maybe i'll do this or whatever or i want to give it to somebody else this is about you and god partnering your faith for your career for your business and us saying yes and amen to it and also sowing a seed and everybody who's applying again we're praying for you we're believing for you so it's not just about getting money it's about actually us developing a narrative and a conversation together we're gonna be reaching back out to you for different reasons uh so that we can really encourage you and help understand but you know the thing that i love about this book is for me i'm very practical and it took me a long time to recognize that i knew that i heard the lord because like sean mentioned earlier i always thought everybody heard a big big voice but this still small voice is is really there and and wired to hear is a story based book with teaching where we where we talk about things that have business world the greater marketplace right and even in our talks i was like i i need to not just see myself as called to entertainment industry i need to see myself as called to the entire marketplace with an entertaining ministry focus and that was new for me to even think like i want to go after the financial guys i've spoken to wall street guys i've spent time with chairman of multinational companies but i never felt like i was one of them until after our talks after a while we wrote this book and i even you absolutely are one of them and you know it's you hear this voice of god for yourself for your business for your ministry and for others and this is you know the instinct that uh that you pursue the wisdom that you have your processes that you have you know i'm i'm so excited for people to be able to read this and see this part of you because it's one of the brilliant part of you you're known as a pastor and you you have you know prophet this beautiful prophetic voice and you hear the lord and now we get to introduce this into the marketplace and one of the things that we hear all the time is like how do you hear god in the marketplace and and you're constantly saying well we listen and then and we listen and and we listen and if we listen then we hear [Laughter] yes and i think that's the biggest thing is that we're trying to get people to listen and uh one of you you and i talk a lot about what we've done for people and what i've done for a lot of business people has said well as men or women and say let's look at your wins in life that you've had with your children with your business and tell me where god was in those areas a lot of times they'll start out saying well you know i prayed and then god opened the store but there was never a prophetic moment i don't hear from god i'm like so you got here and tell me well i made this decision i forgot this contract i signed this and i'm like so where was god in it well he led me here and i felt like i was supposed to call that person and then i felt like this would happen and this opened up and then and they start to tell you a prophetic journey a spiritual journey of partnering in their faith to god that is hearing god's voice and that's one of the things i love about this book is that you and i have helped look at how we're wired and look at how the prophetic or hearing god's voice isn't just the verbal communication but it's the way we are wired that's why you see the wires across the book you should put it up there glenn just so people could see it again have some questions and answers bob so here we go i uh like to have a lot of questions yeah i'd like uh kathleen saxton's question and i think let's do it her question well it's not a question but she's making a statement i'm avoiding debt in business at all costs my partner says debt as a tool is okay now this is a very touchy subject yeah personally in debt uh in debt reduction we're always trying to reduce our personal debt we're trying to not carry credit card debt and pay off our debts in business though if we have a good strategic plan if we have um we've done a pro forma and we know where we're going our our pipeline is is full and we're growing i um generally don't have a problem with measured debt um i think that um the old adage it takes money to make money yeah applies here but we have to be very careful about we have to be very prayerful about it because if if if we're if we're using debt to fund a business that isn't growing then that's where we get in trouble so totally i think one of the things you need to look at here and talk about with your partner is is the business growing and what will we use the debt for will we use it to fund the growth if if we're using debt to pay our salaries that's a problem yeah if we're using debt to move forward and grow i generally don't have a problem with that as long as it's measured what do you think i think the same thing because i think of like our cash flow issues that we had when we were doing 37 ministry events this is for the ministry side 37 ministry events and you have to front load every hotel every plane everything for the whole team so all the insurance everything and so we took out some i think we had some money that we took out on credit cards and also loan or whatever and um and so we had front loaded some debt knowing that we built the interest in everything into the back end when we would start to create the resource again and so i think that that's there's many businesses like that there's people who are authors that you have to front load maybe you put 10 000 books on a on a loan until they're sold and so you're planning on selling those in the first month to the first year and so you have a measured debt and there's a lot of types of companies have to do this but if you're going into debt like i can't pay payroll and i have no hope of paying payroll but i'm going to put this on my american express card you're in trouble that's not those are signs of trouble that sometimes we still get into those times of trouble and we still faith our way out but more times than not we we get buried by that kind of debt and there's not a lot of ways out of it that are helpful other than like um if god rescues you or if you do bankruptcy which is not helpful to you long term so i'm going to encourage you to like again what bob saying measured measured um leveraging not not just borrowing with no hope of return not sure how it would come back yeah so thank you for the question and and you know just as an aside take time to talk with your partner pray with your partner if your partner is a believer and you make sure that you're on the same page before you move forward um for sure my friend danny silk loves this scripture first john 4 18 fear and love can't coexist because fear has to do with punishment and and so we don't want fear to be a motivator in our in our business decisions either but um so at any rate i hope that helps yeah i mean you have to realize most people start businesses with nothing so a lot of people have to use if you're in a country like america some of the european countries you get to use debt as kind of your start it's gonna be a false start though you have to be really careful but you get to use debt sometimes as a leverage tool and that's part of how capitalism can work for you but it's not always the best form so you just gotta really prayerfully do it and be in agreement like bob said we have another one which is leona from the platform she said how do you infuse the prophetic gift with your business and i think for me personally that it's one in the same in our relationship with god like everything we're doing we're trying to hear his voice can keep him connected to what we're doing look for him look for the signs and signals of the breakthroughs trust him in the breakdowns so to me like sheree and i will sit down and uh every month usually and we'll sit down we'll kind of talk about what's been happening and the opportunities of you know growth areas of opportunity but also what is god doing like let's look for the wins let's look for the moments that he showed up and sometimes they're unintentional and we didn't even pay attention to him and they can't happen until we talk especially cerie's really good at noticing the god moments even more than i am and so then we look at those and we have that helps pattern our faith for the next month or the next even quarter or whatever so i would encourage you to take time to look at what you're building and look for the the god moments look for the god energy or synergy where jesus is blessing you where he's blessing those through you look for the areas of opportunity look for areas of warfare the areas you need to pray through look for areas where maybe um you know like for us we have a service business so for me like when we're making content and media i'm trying to love all the people who are ever going to watch our content in our media in my heart my spirit and i'm trying to feel jesus's love for them like he he paid for the joy set before him so when i'm making a tv show or whatever i'm thinking of those people completely like i'm i'm believing that he's going to speak to me for the sake of love and when you put that in the equation it's no longer just doing a duty or a task for god but you get to love with him and actually cherish those jesus went to the cross for so that might be helpful language for you what do you think bob i think you know um we're wired to hear and i think that if we spend time listening to the lord and asking him for what is on our hearts and businesses on our heart then asking the lord to speak to you about these certain business business issues like for example i use i use um proverbs 3 4 and 5 and i and i i personalize it and it says trust in the lord with all your heart and i would say trust in the lord with this issue wow instead of i would i would plug in in this issue acknowledge and and i make it and i asked i asked the lord prophetically to speak to me about about these issues and so i i think i mean that's just another way of saying just what you did sean but um take the time to listen to the lord and recognize that you're wired to hear his voice in a completely unique way i love that i've got another one for you bob i'm gonna ask this for you from ellen from facebook ellen rymer i believe how to proceed forward when you feel like you've heard god's direction for business or ministry but you keep running into closed doors how do you proceed forward how do you keep the you know for me it's raw grit in some ways but but maybe you could address that i uh we always talk about this um first of all why is there a closed door is it the enemy he doesn't want is is the lord saying i don't want you to do this how do you know how do you know what it is for me being practical the only way that i know is to spend time uh before the lord with a plan and i'm talking about a couple pages like what is what is your what are your values what are your ideas what are your goals what is your what is this business that you want to open what's the demographic what's the market cap is it a hundred thousand dollar you know uh area of business or is it a ten billion dollar area of business that's easy to get into asking these questions and then sean you and i always believe in getting around people that we know and who we respect and talking to them and bouncing ideas off their heads we believe in a wisdom and a multitude of counselors and we know that iron sharpens iron so sometimes we've found that people will have uh be experiencing closed doors because they haven't taken the time to actually put pen to paper spend the time you know 40 60 80 100 120 hours on this plan to see if it's feasible to do a feasibility study yeah i think too i think of paul young our friend who wrote the shack and um we love paul we spent a lot of time with paul and both bob and i and you know when when his friend submitted his book for publication everybody said no the top publisher said this there's no there's no market for this this is way too you know christian it's way too emotional it's not the right kind of book for us and then they self-published and sold i think seven million bob in the first year i believe it was like seven million it's like 27 million now or more these you know copies self-publishing all those publishers are probably kicking themselves in the head but um he so they had like i i'm gonna make up a number i think it was 36 stores or 37 doors closed for them i've just no people said no some people rejection yes yeah just rejection and i think for me i look at and go okay you know like when we were doing our children's book um you know again i'm an author so i'll relate to the book market we're doing our children's book i mean growing up with god hearing god's voice it's kind of translating god for kids and um we were doing it uh some publishers friends who were you know christian marketers two children were saying we just don't see the market for this maybe you can license some product or toys we just don't see the market for this and we're really going after helping sunday schools and homeschool moms and that kind of build a curriculum for them so it was really interesting that you know we ended up selling because of our own events and how we uh the other books that we had and the other publishing deals we had we end up selling you know tens of thousands of copies of that curriculum and books and kids books in the christian market don't sell that much unless they're the top five percent so because of our synergy of how our world worked it was the perfect product to bring to market at that time even though it took a lot of energy so i think you got to look at like where are you at maybe it doesn't work for one person like they were right if i if i wasn't traveling as much as we did that book wouldn't have worked like today that book wouldn't have worked as a book release right now as my first children's book but it worked then because of all the traveling everything else we're doing so you gotta look at everything and go you know is this mine to push forward or do i need to wait let god push this forward and work on something else first and i have about five major projects in my life that i've not got to yet because of everything else i feel like i've had to push forward first and i'm just now after 25 years of everything else moving on to some of the things that are my primary passion projects i'm going to push forward so sometimes it just takes time so tell us about that patience i mean you you were pregnant with those ideas let's say 25 years ago i still am yeah like and now they're coming around and so yeah and and i think the endurance of it is like you know you tr you die to it and you think this isn't going to happen and you think maybe you know this will never make resources or finances so i can't give my time to it you think all those things or this will never touch people no one ever care about this especially as a creative artist and type person because these are creative projects and the cool thing about it is now that i'm in my you know mid to late 40s i'm 46 the average person in young adult space who writes young adult fiction that is really successful is starts out in their mid to late 40s or higher and so that very genre that i'm filled with passion and writing into i'm the right age for now but i didn't know that when i was 19 and i wanted to write this stuff and you know i wrote i've written five books that i've never published in that space because it hasn't been timed yet so it's not like i'm just sitting on like i looked right one day i've actually written books that i don't have permission yet to pursue as a career until more again this is kind of the first season i'm opening up about that stuff so i think the patience is just trust and i if i could have told my younger self bob what to do i would have said you know like enjoy everything else you're doing this will come yeah i i think i think that is such good advice do we have time for one more question sean one more question um so this is from youtube and his uh his or her name is why can't i lose weight i'm not gonna read the entire question i'm not laughing i'm i'm losing weight so i understand i'm not laughing at the end of the question um my business is health coaching is that important to you both and i would say he's probably saying is that important to the lord and and yes if you listen to exploring the marketplace you'll see that we've had some incredible guests who are doctors uh who who are who have uh health businesses who have nutrition businesses and um our health is very important uh to the lord and to us and so i think if you if you have a business like this uh if you're a health coach i i know that it's it's hard not to be salesy but i think if you ask the lord um in in your business about who you are and your character if your desire is really to help people to help people to see them get set free um then then i think that the way that you decide to market and the way that you decide to carry yourself changes if if you partner with jesus and you know in your heart that what you're doing is going to help people then this changes everything about how you operate your business yeah when you look at the publishing market in christianity i think the third most relevant topic is health so christians care about health maybe you're not in the right sphere of christians that care because i think if we had dr josh axe and uh dr jordan rubin on and both of those guys are like like you need to find your prototypes like it doesn't mean you're going to do the same business but who are people who are killing it like josh and ruben are on tbn and have a tb and product line for health and nutrition they have the top one of the i think it's the second top nutrition product in the world right now and they start a garden of life which is one of the most popular supplements so i mean like we're some christians right now in the health space are the most um impactful and they really get this so i think again this is one of those i like this question because it shows yeah we don't know your name but it shows like you feel a little lonely and isolated because your experience and the reality is like there's such a bigger world out there if god can just open your eyes a little bit more and maybe this direction there is actually some of the most powerful things are happening with christians and health like i just was on the phone with the doctor a blood doctor who's creating a new uh what is it called when you um diabetics have to get their blood washed dialysis um he's created a new dialysis process as a blood doctor that takes covet out of your it takes cover out of your system completely through washing your blood so for people who are elderly who are dying they can be healed in like two treatments or one treatment so like i'm talking to people in the health space he got that from god like and it's you know he's getting fda approval right now like people are getting ideas from god over the health space like never before so you should be extremely encouraged and we're going to keep highlighting those stories so keep following us and who knows what your story will be the last thing i want to say about that is don't limit it to christianity don't limit it to the sure if the church is behind you know go market your business if you're a believer then you have ethics and morals that you you are someone who people need to talk to so go outside of the church walls and and let your light shine before all men in your business i i just was thinking about that with um people would come to me when i was a senior pastor you know senior past for 10 or 12 years and i've been in ministry this whole time so as a senior pastor people would come and say i'm gonna do this program i wanna do this thing and laurie who leads our prophetic team for bulls ministry she's a real estate agent and she would say hey can i use the church and um and do real estate seminars on how to buy a house and i said sure but we're not gonna we're not as a ministry doing that like but you can do that she goes you know what i'm gonna rent this space i'm gonna i'm gonna go ahead and but she volunteered so much we gave it to her because she was such a an amazing person in our community how could we charge her for something that she's and so she started doing this what was cool is that people who never saw themselves getting a house in l.a are now in a house in la because lori did these seminars in our church but i at the time i was like no one's gonna be able to afford a house but sure go you're good real estate and do your thing and then all of a sudden there was a breakthrough because prophetically god wanted to do something with houses so your pastor may not get it it doesn't matter lori could have done the seminars and she did and you know the work um lofts or whatever like the places you can rent for a day she could have done it there but she did it in their you know in our church not even in partnership to our ministry just in our church with our church people and it and you know so many people have gotten houses because laurie helped build the faith and whether she was a real estate agent or not so i'm going to encourage you like knock on the door of the church but if they reject you it doesn't matter like they were like i don't get your thing it doesn't matter there's so many people around you who need help right now so i agree with bob like this is the calling that's beyond the church it's a jesus calling yeah my business isn't uh isn't it doesn't uh isn't contingent on the church i i am out in the marketplace and i am working in the construction business on on job sites where um we're our our prayer is is that our the culture of our company shines the light of jesus and uh and and so that's how that's how we try to work and sean i'm like this has been really fun i know i'm so glad we did it and wired to here you guys are wired to
