bankers and entrepreneurs venture capitalists and we talked about their journey in god and it's so exciting many of you are a part of that uh podcast because you listen to it regularly and we're going to keep going which is really awesome it's really fun and then we also have our book coming up which is a culmination of the conversations that we've had about we're wired to hear god's voice for our career in our marketplace venture which is really cool so that's what this is all about thank you for everybody else who joined in with quite a few people from all over the world joining from the uk from the caribbean i'm very jealous in the caribbean right now it's awesome trinidad uh canada we have so many different people and uh people are even writing in what kind of careers they have which is awesome so bob today we have specifically one of our grant winners is going to join us in just a few minutes yeah yeah and this is someone who actually in hindsight you realize this is someone who's actually worked for lauren a little bit from time to time yeah as a photographer yeah which is amazing and i think it's really interesting i know that you gave her a word that really transformed her life and career and i remember at one of lauren's events i got to pray for her for her eyes i didn't realize what that meant at the time and and i didn't know until i was telling lauren oh this winter is this beautiful photographer and and and her name is april and guess what sean today's her birthday yes i think april who's born in april gets a grant on her birthday why don't we bring her in right now april come on in april manriquez there she is april oh i recognize you april this is awesome [Laughter] that's my favorite can we just have that going the whole time we celebrate you this is awesome to be one of the people who would receive a grant potentially as we were praying through you were actually the first name that our team brought to us because the team screened through a bunch of them to make sure you know that the ones that were like what we were asking for would get to us first and they and jeremy who's on our team so i really feel strongly about this one yeah this woman april and just her photography career and just even though she has a connection to us because the word you gave her she's walking it out and she's on this god center journey so that was really cool just the fact that you know we had our team connect even before we didn't here i recognize you and bob's even worked with you at times through lauren so tell me about just your photography business and tell me about that prophetic word oh my gosh okay so i started photography um seven years ago i had no love for photography didn't like even taking cameras on on my vacations like it was not a thing i like to do um but i had quit my corporate career that i had like long going and i left that feeling like the universe was calling me like i was like okay i gotta go i didn't know god at that time so i was like the universe is calling me i gotta get out of here i don't know what i'm gonna do and i went on this travel journey for probably about three months and i that was the time when i really realized i'm like i really want to just like have fun and i want to be a part of weddings i want to be a part of like the family the celebration the dancing the food the music like i wanted all of that so i was thinking what could i do you know now and starting a new business what can i do for weddings so that's literally how i started it wasn't even because i like photography even though i'm in love with it now it was because i wanted a party i wanted to like have [Laughter] what did the fun equation hit for you so check this this is amazing so what ended up happening was i bought my first camera um a month later someone had called me to do a wedding which i did all my research and i i knew that i wasn't gonna have a wedding for probably four years like paid that was that was the plan that's what happened with all the other professional photographers and i'm like i'm gonna work my butt off and i'm gonna do this but it was a month later that i got a call they were begging me to take their photos they said please we'll pay you whatever you want and i'm like what okay okay and i did it then the bride loved her photos so much she entered them into a contest and in that contest they won the photos one and the photos went up in times square no no i promise so it was just like a little it was like a little like splash but but still it was up in times square one of my photos and what ended up happening was um i was telling the story my um my mom and my step-dad were having a um a bible study at their house and they asked me tell your story your photography story and i would and i told them and then at the end my stepdad said to me you know you should really thank god for for what's happening and i'm like why like i don't why would i like i took the photo like i don't understand he goes do you think it's normal that you would get a wedding so quickly and that your photo would be up in times square and i was like no it's not normal three months later i had a major encounter with the holy spirit with god and i knew he was real and i was totally surrendered and we started our journey together with photography a year and a half later i got a word from shambles that i wasn't even in the room which is amazing i was like out ministering in san diego and he was an oceanside and um sean said i'm all saying shambles like you're not right there you're right there um i sean said um he said god loves your photography and you're supposed to capture love and he said there's a prophetic ministry that goes along with it and this is your career and right there it just was like okay this is what i'm supposed to be doing and that word has carried me you know all this time because it's so hard you know like having your own business and going through the challenges and the um the lessons and the growth that god wants you to go through as an entrepreneur it's it's it's good but it's tough so i needed that word i needed that to hold on to april if that's right well and here's what i love too is that you basically got saved because god blessed you in the favor of god which i think part of what i've had a word about is that this next great move of god is going to be people who get apprehended in the marketplace in their place a career because of christians who are placed there like you and all of a sudden you just show up and shine off for jesus and people get attracted like solomon the queen of sheba comes and she says surely your god's real and he begins to worship him because he's so good and he raises a man like you because he loves his people so much and i think that's a prototype of the next great move of god i love church-centric moves with god i love when god moves in a church or a movement or whatever but i think the next thing is more like the jesus people movement on steroids in the marketplace and so i love that your story is kind of that it's like god gave me favor and it can't it couldn't have come from me or just my talent and so to me it's perfect like i i we discovered something and just interviewing you like this that it gives me so much hope for what i believe is about to come and it's so cool to be able to uh give you this grant and what are you going to be using it for okay so i really need another camera so i should have you know i really need one and i've had my eye on one i've been doing the research i've been watching all the youtubes i've you know and it's it's there in my cart so i am like in my cart and i i really want to use this money um towards that towards being able to purchase that getting a new camera and having just extra equipment because i'm doing i'm doing trainings now with um young girls they're wanting to learn photography and it would be nice if i had an extra piece of equipment for them and you know i'm um now god's bringing people to me now that want to be mentored in photography and to actually work with me so i just i need more equipment i need more resources i need um yeah that's faithful i'm looking at the comments and you have so many fans people who love you and they're just all so excited for that's you awesome yeah people are very excited thank you guys for joining the conversation and sharing your hearts for april as well and we just pray for people we pray that god would bless you in this season that this would just be another tangible sign and token that god's doing more than you could have done for yourself and that he's going to keep bringing all the resources it takes to do the full destiny and that he's going to bring everything you need to fulfill this false assignment and we just thank you god that we got to sew a little token into that and i but you just multiply it greatly and everything you already do with april in our life multiply it god don't just add to it multiply that's what you did with the parable of 10 talents you didn't just give more you multiplied what people had and i pray you would do it again with april and we thank you so much for being on here april we thank you so much for sharing your story and we can't wait to hear from you again thank you okay april bye bye bye oh sean how fun in the book that we are wired to hear in different ways and i think so many people think the only way to hear from god is from a big voice and instead i mean we talk about prophetic words we talk about wisdom we talk about process we talk about other people speaking into our life and it's really really exciting to hopefully help people unlock the fact that they do hear from the lord i love yeah it's one of those things where it's a before and after moment for a lot of people who come into contact with this message because we've done events based on this and we've also done our friday podcast for i think we're you know 30 something deep i believe now so we've we've curated this message and we're watching it create ripples and movement and part of the proof of that is how many people are listening and engaging in this message is just phenomenal just tens of thousands per episode and so it shows that people are hungry for the subject and we're going for it hey but we just she says what is the biggest thing to ask god when you're considering starting a business besides is it his will and first of all that's that's the question but then the second thing is to me surrounding yourself with people who who you can brainstorm with who you can incubate with who maybe have already started a business and start to ask them the questions like i i don't know what your industry is or what you're thinking about but but when you begin to brainstorm with the lord about this surrounding yourself with other people who can help you is for me one of the most important things what do you think sean well i i think i kind of go back to when i do like consulting or coaching i go back into like what is my what why do i want to do a business then who's my who who is this for because we're looking for the why like what what what am i going to fight for every day what am i going to keep in front of me so that i'll keep doing this because it's always not easy no matter what you know the promised land was never hard for the children of israel they look at it and they go there's cities that are completely established here with people and armies that we didn't know we're gonna have to fight so they look at it and it's actually exhausting to look at until they take a day by day and a prophetic journey with god so to me it's like you need to have your why like why am i in my promise center why is this my promise from god and then also when you have the who it's for you start to get a feel for i need more resources just like we have kids it's like i need resources for my kids to have this uniform i need resources for my kids to maybe go to this program and all of a sudden miraculously your life provides god provides for your life resources to do things you wouldn't be able to do without having that child and with that like if you're a single person or if you're just married you didn't have a child like god bless his family he blesses having children and so it's the same with business i think if you look at the who like who is this for and god you need to bring me this so i can get to the who i think that's a big connection point that most people don't look at when they're doing business that my life is supposed to impact through guys a lot of other people bought for you it's your all the people you're painting for you've impacted so many lives of your employees and also the atmosphere in a culture of where you go into which is one of the reasons i love you know business of honor because it's a culture that you bring that to me it's god's joy to give you more favor and bigger projects because you know how to be in those environments and how it affects them and so that would be my answer yeah that's so good let's take one more question from nanette foster she loves that we have intuition in our book sean she said ask can you expand on your view of god's original design for intuition and how to partner with holy spirit led intuition in business is that a great question that's a great question yeah would you let me go first yeah i do okay well i'll probably say a little differently in the book but i just when i think of the prophetic period the subject of prophecy or hearing god's voice i think of first corinthians two so you have the holy spirit who stands in between us and god he's fully present in us and fully present in god and drops god's thoughts and feelings into our spirit or into our being and so we all of a sudden can feel or understand or know things like get a knowing or a feeling right into excuse me an intuition we weren't expecting or that we did we know doesn't come from us and so and he does this also sometimes before we're saved he'll drop in a knowing or his he he'll lead us is a gentle father he'll nudge us from within the holy spirit one of the ways jesus says will come to us is a gentle nudging from within so this is different than that direct approach of god speaking his voice in an audible or in our internal way this is god who's wired us to have instinct and intuition which we go into in great detail in that chapter i think it's a phenomenal uh chapters especially because it helps to kind of unpack that biblically and i think people who are you know who don't hear god direct speech a lot read that chapter and go there he is like that's it right that's i hear that way and so and so that's what i was going to say sean like coming from a practical standpoint um we asked we asked the lord we ask the holy spirit to inhabit us and um and so we go about our days and then in business a situation arises and we start thinking like what do we do and god's intuition the holy spirit flows through us and gives us access to the answers whether it's from the people on our team that we're working for whether it's still small voice whether it's wherever it's from we can rely on the holy spirit to be so faithful to speak to us in these areas of business and i'm certain annette thank you for asking that question and chapter five in our book talks about that and i think uh it'll be it'll be great for a lot of people totally and i would encourage everybody to ask the question
