Will this FORGOTTEN EFI Ford F-150 Drive home after a Decade in a Barn?

is a late 8s Ford F-150 larat that was stuck in the barn about 10 years ago and left to ride away today we're going to try and get it running and driving under its own power and get it home definitely has some potential in her give her spit shine see what we're possibly working with here oh she's going to clean up nice I don't know if that's a dark blue or a black love these old four trucks with the two-tone definitely has a good look there she is an XLT flavor whatever that stands for maybe extra large testicles in this case since I got it now she is uh I'd saying decent shape not for sure on the exact year yet that wheel well is definitely looking rough there seen better days in the bedside don't know what was going on there I think she is a two wheel peel because I did not see lockouts in the front here old Fords had the lock outs you do there so choose a to whe drive now it was already pulled out of the barn when I got here you can see that the Rope there however they went about that looks like the underneath of the rigs actually in Fairly good shape here I don't know too much about these trucks I've never had one I come from a mofar family so with that being said I'll probably get disc owned for buying this here Ford that's okay one of the best cars I've ever had was actually an old fox body Mustang with the 2.3 limo motor this bedside doesn't look like it's any better here all crunched in she is a long bed flavor so we can fit plenty of stuff in there like I said she was a farm truck and she's looked like she was working till the day she was put away whole Red Solo Cup probably had whiskey in there or something maybe on the Rocks not much of a rocker there if that ever needed to be replaced I've never noticed that on these old Fords but that's hardly anything right there let's take a look look on the inside here that was a good sound looks like a grayish blue interior got plastic on the seat not in the worst shape the headliner definitely seen better days I love that check that out big old back glass on her that slides open that'll be nice in the summertime guess they're using these bars is a locking device to keep it from opening all the way up that's nice she is old enough to have these OG Wing windows and quite large ones at that see if those pop open we'll play with that a different time but I don't know why trucks ever went away from having those I love those she is a manual flavor don't know why the boot is gone that's scary let's jump up in here and see what we got we do have key a few Keys actually so that's cool how many miles is she showing 8,377 I don't know if that's original 80,000 or maybe possibly 180,000 since this is a five-digit cluster let's see do we have clutch yeah that's stiff oh brakes pretty spongy don't want to push any more don't want to uce there she is a factory head unit in her yeah she's got a see so that's cool I think this will all clean up pretty good though that's what's scary right there we haven't had anything like this on the channel electronic fuel injection scary is what that means let's pop this driver's door open see if there's a tag for the year of the thing manufactured by Ford yep it's basically what I was thinking we can see that it's March of 89 so she is a 1989 you Ford guys can tell me if that's normal but right there she says made in Canada and also has a Canada sticker there I don't know if that's normal for these trucks to be built there or if this one's a special one definitely looks like we had some rats living in here as there's a lot of feces and they were drinking Pepsi that is disgusting hopefully they didn't get into the wiring too much not for sure what this wiring is here has old push button that must be for nitrous maybe let's push it yeah I don't know what that is get under the the hood of the old gal well well looks like that is already unbolted that's super scary let's just go ahead and take that all the way off that'll make her easier to work on oh this is heavy we'll throw this in the bed all right what do we got here well I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing she doesn't have the v850 but it does look like the inline 6 which I don't know much about these but I believe this should be the 4.9 [Music] L and supposedly these are some of the best inline sixes that were ever made especially this inline 300 that we have right here with the fuel injection now we definitely need a battery in the old gal uh looks like it has all the mission junk hooked up there's a little vacuum line broken off there and we can see old ground strap there now hooked up overall she is a complete looking rig uh let's check in in on the oil here see what we got she does have oil she's perfectly at full I think I just got that on my nose that back in there now the posting did say she didn't have brakes so let's check out maybe she's just low it's low on the fluid well that'll explain right there you only got three brake fluid she's empty and that right there is why we prepared and brought every single fluid that we could possibly need we'll top her off here that'll probably give us braks there as long as there's not too much air in the system but she's a manual so we can always drop that clutch and put her in first and she'll slow down eventually huh how about the Antarctica juice are you in there hello I did not see any all right there's another thing we're going to have is a top offall hopefully that WI it's not blowing too bad it's definitely windy out here today and it's rather cold all right so we got some antifreeze here well drop that I'll get that in a sec let's top her off here we got the allpurpose all V antifreeze hopefully she didn't run too long that was rather empty this about half jug we have here and that's all got she's going to have to do hopefully she doesn't overheat when we try and drive her home huh is this leaking out because why is she taking so much definitely took it all wow not good I don't see it dripping though uh-oh is that a possibility while she was parked right there oh great leaking out of the radiator there at the bottom again is it's lovely so I guess if we do get her fired up we'll just have to drive fast and get her to the house a that sucks I didn't want to spend no more money on the rig than what I already bought it for all right while that's leaking out let's grab the battery think those tires he did air them up for me I think they're slowly leaking air too battery is actually opposite of what I need the shortest positive battery cable think oh she just turned over I think the ignition's on hey stuck in there let's just chalk the wheel here I think this is one of those Fords you can steal make sure she's in neutral clutch neutral she wasn't gear I don't know what's up with this oh horn works why is that key stuck in there yeah I don't know why that's in there stuck I can't get there out all right we're neutral right all right neutral I probably use this bigger block I don't want to drive in this Barn here all right so why did she do that oh that's shorten out on that that doesn't look good didn't bring any tools let's unhook this for a sec oh my goodness she's trying to start it's jumping across there all right I need unhook that before she burns up I need to do something with this that's not touching there wish I brought some tools bend that up all right got that bent up now we hook it up all right now it's not going to be touching so these old fors has this here easy stealer mechanism you just jump from here to here let's see if I get anything on the dash I can see I don't know which tanks which this has a dual tank two tanks so you can switch I was hoping that I could switch it to the one that was most empty doesn't even turn over sounds like a fuel pump for some reason Reon when I turn the key it hardly does anything they do got a screwdriver in here let's steal that so the key should be in the on position right here I don't know what it'll do if I just jump across these two he does try and start I guess you just jump from those [Laughter] two no start definitely ain't the right way to go about that what can we do guess I'm going to try and pop that off and feed her some starting fluid down the yapper there I'm not sure what tank it's going off of I don't know if she has gas that gas gauge doesn't seem like it's working as it [Music] should fill this one up should be pretty good gas here here just couple years old at least if it does have dirty gas we're going to dilute her here and we'll throw in the secret sauce here in a sec just drinking it bad things about these fuel injected cars they sit for a while and this ethanol will eat up the fuel pumps clog the injectors that's what I'm really scared about all right that's all the gas we got now this is the secret stuff right there that will be what L are up we'll dump that straight in the tank if we can even open her up well how in the world give her a good drink a drink being all of it yep that's what we get nice and clean now I just noticed this this is much longer than 10 years so 2003 2002 2001 that she was last at least legally on the road was 01 so that's 23 years ago 23 years ago why would you need tools to work on some that I don't have any screwdriver so this is on there cuz you're supposed to loosen it I was hoping I was going to be get away without it get off of there screwdriver now we can pop this off a lot easier maybe gosh this thing is dirty dirty girl farmer blow farmer truck there we go all right now let's see what we can do on battery back up okay what did I do with that screwdriver that I was doing dangerous stuff guess we can use this one now squ stuff right down here down the intake got it sounds pretty good [Music] it's really quiet he's smoking oh yeah look at that need get that rope out from under here how in the world is that in there throw that back there hopefully I can kill her with the key uh heater on or something I don't know why that's blowing turn her off well hell yeah that was easy enough gave her a little bit of that starting fluid now I don't recommend to ever use starting fluid it's not good on the cylinders and all that good stuff but gave her a little squirt and she fired up had to jump her across not for sure why I can't use the actual ignition why I got to jump it on whatever that migy there is I don't know if that an ignition relay or what that is but okay okay so we know that she has a hole in the radiator somewhere so that's leaking out that's why I turned it off don't want to let her run too long here so now we need to figure out a game plan probably a good start would be clean that windshield off and then um we'll see if she's got anything of a clutch how this is bouncing right back up when I push it I think she's going to be good and then brakes haven't tried that yet I did fill her fluid she is going to the flooor that's not good those probably need to be Blood let's see if she'll fire up now she it won't start okay game plan so I got my Fuller we need to get that back home so that would be a good place for that um for game plan of getting out I should probably go ahead and load that up and if she does have a clutch we're just going to full on cender and get out of here um tires are low leaking probably just done leaked all the cooling out it's quite the puddle and she's still doing a slight drip but not much okay um let's just load that fer up and then we'll give her hell and see what we can do I'm going to see if she has any kind of clutch want to see if I can back her up just a tad there keys on hopefully she fires back up screwdriver that I keep losing is somewhere what did I do with my screwdriver dang it there don't think I need the starting fluid but might need it jump across the this [Music] way right [Music] I know I should feel like that got CL did you guys hear that ter squealing clutch might be shot on it or maybe needs fluid let's get our wheel CH back up in there just because we don't want her to take off rolling on [Music] us [Music] all right on three help the reason why I bought this truck just because I've read that they're pretty reliable and I don't care if tear it up all the foiler put wood in there you you name it we'll get her done sorry if I'm not talking right but now she's ready we're going to fire up we're going to back her out of here that's the road and we're going to take off hopefully we make it and don't lose my Fuller hopefully these tires stay okay all that good stuff before we take off we need to clean this windshield there we go get it clean this what you call fish oh yeah that's nice and clean now we both see in safety going down the road in our nice mid 80s [Music] for the fire right up take you to the wind CH or the glass here it's where you'll ride all right got you taped up on the windshield just like so all right time to go Safety First now we can't be to see with that no brakes all right oh she died why' she die that's weird that ain't good all right ke's on fire back up real quick I don't know why she dying on all right time to go beep beep no break [Music] coming they're driving bu coming around fourspeed of overdrive we're driving see the cruiser look at the neighbors I told you guys I was going to drive her home I didn't really let you know how far away home is though let me tell you home's right here just about a/4 mile oh I forgot we had brakes no brakes get her in [Music] there [Music] she got like zero brakes a little bit better none think parking brake works that might get stuck I better not do that all right we made it I need find something chalk that wheel real quick so she don't roll away looks like everything's goinging good temp gauge gas gauge is pegged out oil pressure battery's looking good she's iding on about 1,500 seems a little high but hadn't ran for a while wonder if this stuff's work probably get blown right in the face oh yeah that's how it's working she got heat that's cold off now nice we'll let her sit here and run for a sec a good old truck motor sounds good quiet well we got to figure out what's wrong with that ignition old Ford she's smoking a little bit but of course she's G with all this dirt and dust she's got on her this is going to be a good truck guys well we got the old Ford home now it's dinner time hopefully you guys enjoyed the video I know this was something a little bit newer than what we usually do but there's something about it that I just absolutely love I have an addiction for just not knowing if something's going to run then it fires up for the first time B will drive it and maybe we save the truck from going the crusher I don't know and I'm GNA sit here and recover because my back is hurting and let me tell you my testies do not feel quite right either that boiler was rather heavy have a good night guys and
