welcome back to the channel my name is John today we're going to do a quick renovation on the inside [Music] [Applause] [Music] this is a 1982 manual transmission F-150 that I picked up a few months ago I actually had to tow at home on my trailer my kids really need to learn how to drive a stick shift I've done a lot of work already on it to get it back into a drivable condition good the transmission on this truck we replace the clutch flywheel we fixed the oil pan leak in this video we'll focus mostly on cosmetic issues here you can see the inside of the cab this seat is going to need some work this carpet looks like it's out of somebody's living room and who at Ford picked out this shade of green come on man come on man all right this is the passenger side door and while we're waiting on parts I think we can go ahead and fix this window or at least attempt to this channel I went ahead and took off because it does not the channel fits right in here and it pulls the window down or up um it's right in that slide right there and so this needs to be attached to the window strong enough so that it can pull the window down now this little piece of fabric I can't find it anywhere I can't find this part anywhere so I'm just gonna have to come up with some sort of mechanism to pinch the window like this this this is all brittle and old so what I've come up with is possibly using some rubber strips so the idea is to take some of this gasket rubber gasket and if I can cut it off about the same width all right so it looks like about an inch in a half inch and a quarter so it would sit in this channel I don't know if that's going to work or not but let's give that a try okay I'm gonna try this uh just like that see if it pinches the glass so it's kind of doing what I want it to do with no double-sided tape on there but you can see this is not seated all the way in here that needs to be all the way down this side is this side is seated all the way down half of it seated it seems to be holding strong this is this window is really stiff okay after a few minutes of working with this I don't think I can get it in any farther than it already is in order I think I can get it out I guess that's a good thing so I might just Lube this up here and leave it foreign let's take out the seat so we can take out this carpet all right now I can reach these other bolts hey why don't we find them back here all kinds of stuff oh we got fuses back here I have to soak this one down I don't want to break it this is a passenger side bolt it's not as bad I find all kinds of stuff in here some hex bolts that come in handy so we got some lamps all right so check out what I just found you open this up and you got your 5 10 and 25 cents holders you can put your like they don't have a penny holder button you can put your nickels in there dime some quarters in there that's pretty slick all right hit it from underneath with the little WD-40 let it sit a while it's coming now oh shoot it was all right so let's get this out I think that was the last one let's see if we lift it up yeah yeah okay hey guys take a break real quick and just hit thumbs up on this video if you would doesn't cost a thing it really helps the channel out I'd appreciate it all right let's get back to work [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] just like the sunrise [Music] that's it okay rust seal foreign [Music] types of Bondo here all purpose and then High Bond filler only got about a half a can left in both of them so I might use them both up on this application anyway let's start with this one just gonna use the rest of this hardener up here all right stuff hardens pretty quick all right dang that is hard already that's it we're done a little harder [Music] I think that'll be good enough [Music] okay foreign that should work okay well I've got most of the Interior components painted ready to go back into the cab so we're missing one of these handles this one's in pretty rough shape maybe we can customize one nice piece of red cedar look at this stuff it's like cotton candy pink red cedar beautiful [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] I guess we now know what these holes are from foreign [Music] [Music] check out how these handles are turning out guys that's some custom wood off the farm here I've got two coats of this rust seal on this floor here it's starting to look really good and uh I really like this stuff it comes in really thick I think it'll protect the rust from for a long time so let's go ahead and get this uh shifter plate cover back on here [Music] I bought a bunch of these clips on rockauto.com they got that double uh kind of thing so that I should slide in here and hold I think like a that's another one oh that snaps right in okay let's fix this broken glass I've already taken the broken glass out of here now I got some stickers put on each of these little holes here all right these are the first two let's see how this goes all right last okay let's see if I can do this without breaking it okay perfect fit all right so I'm putting the flooring in now and I'm gonna do it in three layers this first layer is just a pad here I guess it's for softness on the feed and probably some sound insulation the second piece that I'm getting in here is only for sound insulation and then the third piece I'm gonna put some vinyl on top instead of carpet and I think that'll be easy to clean and um probably last a little bit longer as well but I want to spray this down with some sort of adhesive it's a little bit slippery all right now I've got some leftover automobile uh headliner as you see this might have worked this time oh all right let's let that sit for a couple minutes all right that's not going anywhere let's put the uh sound dampening material back on here how do you put the floor in on him I believe you're supposed to lay this out in the sun for a little while to you know heat up so it'll become more pliable so I'm just gonna stretch this out a little bit let that relax [Music] all right this seems to fit pretty well it's pre-molded seems like um so now I just need to drill out a few holes for the seat and the seat belts and I cut out the holes here for the shifters and then trim up the edge a little bit they gave me a little bit extra on the side all right so we got hot in here and the camera shut off but I've gone ahead and got this flooring in as much as I could for now I might trim it up a little bit more uh see if I can fit it around here but uh for now it looks pretty good I've got the six holes two for the seat belts and four for the seats drilled out ready to install the seats so I think the next step is to get the seat moved in here foreign all right looking good all right well uh we got the seat back in I got these uh I don't know what these are called back on I I do like the um the vinyl instead of the carpet I don't necessarily like right up here the bubbles and I left it a little bit long so I can trim it later but I think it looks pretty good uh it matched it matched The Contours fairly well um so um not bad for I don't know it was 200 bucks for that I think I think the seat turned out nice these black trim lines complement the rest of the black interior pretty well I believe oh dang that's nice I'm jiggly like the couch there's still some floor mats right on in here so the only thing left we got to do is take this for a test drive what do you think about the seeds even though I got them done did you no they look good how do they feel they feel comfy oh yeah you'll be looking for the truck uh this is my longest drive I've done ever I finally figured out where the gears are just kind of got to know it gotta jam it up in there third gear yeah I don't know if you hear that sounds something like it's ticking horn works but it's a little bit weak I mean we're going to get you a nice Shotgun If You Want It no sometimes you got to be for like someone to move so that's a good that's a good song for like not too loud like a little courtesy Hawk the interior turned out really well maybe the next video on this truck will be a painting I don't know if I'm gonna do it or hire it out but it does need to be repainted it's kind of a sloppy job on here but we got the interior done and we got a lot of other things done I'm hoping we'll fix the oil leak thank you for watching um I'll catch you guys on the next one [Music]
